OK, fun facts: Yes, Duncan's Toys was based on FAO Schwarz (where the piano scene takes place in "Big"), but the actual location is the lobby of the vast, vacant Uptown Theatre, in Chicago. Similarly, Duncan's exterior is the entrance to Burnham and Root's Rookery building, also in Chicago. Although there is a brownstone located at the address given for Uncle Rob's fix-er-upper, the exterior in the film was on the back lot. Even the Central Park exterior with the bird lady is a set.
There is a UA-cam video from a few years ago now where a doctor reviewed the first 2 Home Alone movies and talked about the injuries Harry and Marv would have suffered. And yes, they both would have died several times.
@VerowakReacts I wanted to ask you this question because I was quite curious, but which Home Alone movie do you prefer between Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York? As for me, I loved Home Alone 2 so much that I saw it three times in the movie theaters, and it's definitely my favorite between those two movies. And out of all of the traps, the brick part is my favorite. When I saw this in movie theaters and it came to that part, I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt. Also, I have a few other movie suggestions for you to watch, and I'm not sure if you've heard of these movies before or not, but they're really good movies. *Since you really like Macaulay Culkin's performance in both of those movies, then my first movie suggestion would be a movie called "My Girl." It stars Anna Chlumsky, Macaulay Culkin, Dan Aykroyd, and Jamie Lee Curtis. It's a coming of age story, and it's a comedy/drama movie. The reason why I suggest this movie is because you get to see Macaulay Culkin's dramatic side a little bit in that one. I loved the movie My Girl so much that I saw it four times in the movie theaters. *My 2nd movie suggestion is a movie called "RV," which it's a comedy that stars Robin Williams, Cheryl Hines, Josh Hutcherson, singer Jojo, Jeff Daniels, Kristin Chenoweth, and Will Arnett in it. Now it's the truth when I say this, but no other reactors that I watch on UA-cam have ever reacted to this movie at all. It's a movie that came out in 2006, and saw this movie twice in movie theaters, and I laughed so hard throughout this movie that I was crying, andmy stomach hurt. *Another movie that I would suggest is a family friendly movie that was made by Disney, and the movie is called "Ice Princess." It's a movie that came out in 2005. It stars Michelle Trachtenberg, Joan Cusack, Hayden Panettiere, and Kim Cattrall. I loved this movie so much that I saw it three times. *My last movie suggestion is another movie that's a comedy made by Disney, and the movie is called "10 Things I Hate About You." I loved this movie that I saw it 6 times in the movie theaters. It stars Julia Styles, Larisa Olyenik, Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Krumholtz, Andrew Keegan, Gabrielle Union, Allison Janney, and Larry Miller in it. *Bonus Suggestion: As a bonus suggestion, it's another comedy from 2004, and the movie is called "Without a Paddle," and it stars Seth Green, Matthew Lillard, and Dax Shepard, as well as a cameo appearance by Burt Reynolds in it. And if you ever decide to a movie reaction to a musical, then I definitely suggest the musical called Hairspray from 2007 that stars Nikki Blondsky, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Christopher Walkin, Queen Latifah, Amanda Bynes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Brittany Snow, James Marsden, Elijah Kelley, and Allison Janney in it. I loved this movie so much that I saw it 8 times in the movie theaters, which is the most that I've ever seen for a movie in movie theaters. Trust me when I say that you definitely won't regret watching these movies at all. And if you haven't seen these movies before, then I really do hope that you'll eventually react to them at some point in the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this comment! I really and truly do appreciate it, more than you'll ever know or realize! Thank you so much again, Verowak! 😀

Macaulay Culkin actually made $4 million salary PLUS 5% of the film gross. To date the film has grossed over $475 million so he made at least $24 million on top of his salary. Marv's "oops," combined with the facial expressions on the Wet Band-- I mean Sticky Bandits' faces right before they get smashed in the face with that sewer pipe gets me rolling with laughter every time. 😂
You’re right regarding the potential deaths. Some years ago trauma specialists concluded it takes 14 Marv‘s and 9 Harry’s to complete the first two movies.
I remember one specific time I was watching this movie as a kid. The part where Marv was down in the basement slipping on that soap or whatever it was, had me rolling for some reason. I rewound the tape so many times just dying.
Here in Bradenton FL. December 18. Current temperature at 12:50pm is 79 degrees expecting a low of 65 tonight. Brrrrr. Weather is sunny and clear. It doesn't rain ALL the time in Florida. It's only rained a few hours this month so far. We do decorate palm trees, but we also have Christmas trees everywhere. LOL But I get what this movie was trying to say. It's going to be a white Christmas for me this year. Yeah, I'm going to the beach! LOL Merry Christmas to all of you out there... and to you Verowax. I love your reaction videos! I put bird seed on myself before and had attracted a massive flock of pigeons. It's really not a big deal. Marv was just being a coward when he screamed in that high pitched voice
I use to think the $967 bill wasn't that bad too, until I realized that was just for the room service, and not for the entire room and other charges. edit: To be clear I'm well aware that the charge is just for room service. This comment was based on my first experience watching the movie as a teenager in the 90's. I saw the $967 on the bill and assumed it was for the entire stay, but then realized it was for just room service moments later when Kevin's dad yelled it. My point is that if one is under the impression that the bill is for the entire stay, $967 for 1 night at the Plaza in 1992 would not be surprizing.
@@CTag81 he literally was there 24 hours or less before the concierge ran the credit card again. So $967 in room service in less than that. New York hotels are cheaper than luxury NYC hotels like The Plaza. Today that would be a $2100+ room service bill. No luxury hotel in NY outside of NYC would that be even possible.
@@cp368productions2 You're really missing my point. I was saying that 967 for a stay in a luxury suite at the Plaza Hotel for less than $1000 in 92' doesn't seem that bad until I realized that it was just for the room service. Today you could easily drop $2500 per night at the Plaza.
Never been to NY, huh? it’s really only packed in the early evening right after the lighting. A few weeks into December it starts emptying out with just a few tourist stragglers once it starts getting dark. I’ve been to a nearly empty tree countless of times. Most of the tourists stay along 7th heading towards time square during the night and leave 6th and 5th pretty empty in comparison. The cathedral is also relatively empty after dark.
Hello Miss Verowak!😊 Pretty much every John Hughes written film takes place in the fictional town of Shermer, Illinois at some point. In this case he wrote the film again, so that is where their home is supposed to be. Yeah, they recast after this film. I think it was a direct to video film.😉 Great reactions to this well made Home Alone Christmas sequel, Vero!!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The first film was a huge box office surprise!💰
Hey Mike! Thank you, I'm glad that Macaulay Culkin was in both of these, but I get why recasting would be best. Much cheaper and also, there's only so many times this can happen to the same kid! haha
Nice! Only seen this movie the one time it came out. Forgot how good it was. Tim Curry!! Wish he had better and more roles. You expect more when he is in frame! He played a awesome Demon in the 1985 movie LEGEND with a teenage Tom Cruise! Great Reaction Vero!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼 Hey,,,, is that a real fur coat 🧥 For Shame! 😉
25:56 I make that exact face on that part every time I see this movie. He caught the corner of the brick, too! He should have 100% died. 29:45 Live-action Bugs Bunny! So accurate.
I seem to remember you can book a home alone experience at the actual plaza hotel😂 Also Trump appears in the movie cuz its his hotel they used for filming if i remember correctly
Imagine the construction team returning to the townhouse and finding the state its in. I can imagine the reaction of a site foreman finding the power and ground clamps from the arc welder attached to the sink and losing his mind.
Marv turning into a skeleton and when he falls through the floor yelling ”Harry, I’ve reached the top!” always get’s me laughing out loud😂 Would be awesome to see a reaction on Home Alone 3 too!
Funnily enough, I had a friend with six children (I had three), and one time when they were visiting they left one of their kids at my house by accident.
@ It was about 30 minutes later the boy walked out of one of my kids rooms and I called them. I think they had already turned around at that point, I can’t remember.
Remember this; every time there is something John Hughes-related, it will always, most likely take place in Chicago, just look at his other movies and you'll see ;) =) That recorder exist for real, I think it became a big seller after it showed up in the movie back in the day. If you still want one it's most likely on Ebay, problably expensive unless you're lucky and find one for cheap. Rob Schneider, yep. There's a name for Marv's condition; Cleptomaniac =P Oooh, a Simpsons line! Nice! =D XD =) 36:16 In case you didn't know, that's Mac's little brother Kieran, who still became an actor in his adult age too. He played the gay room-mate in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and he was in a recent TV-show that I forgot the name of, but he did win an Emmy for his role in that one. Also, according to Daniel Stern (Marv), one of the pigeons flew right in his mouth =P Yeah, Mac could have retired at that time, except his parents used all the money he made (like most parents to child actors did at that time, Corey Feldman included except Feldman emancipated from his parents. I don't know If Mac did the same).
Home alone 3 is also great but it’s a completely different story with a completely different family.. people give the 3rd movie hate but I think that just bc they wanted it to keep going with the same cast.. but honestly how many times could that plot play out with the same family without CPS being called lol
Smooching with Cliff really undercuts his credibility. Now two of the people who came off the elevator know the guy is lying. But it's hard for him to tell the truth when he's part of a movie the kid was watching.
Happy holidays! Finally wating is over. I hope you will watch Home alone 3 as well. I think that is worth reaction too. There is few reaction videos with that movie.
I must respond to the 2turtle doves comment you made about his mother getting the other one. The way he was treated in part 1, being forgotten. And the way he was treated in this one. With that said, Kevin's mother is isn't any more clever than the people running the hotel. She was against Kevin in both movies. The worst part is, he's the youngest
Yeah, his parents have learned nothing since the first movie. That also means that Kevin has had to spend an entire year between the two Christmas's putting up with his family still acting like that towards him.
Ok... I was halfway through the video and I was like Vero needs a vacation that includes a visit to a toy store with some cookie toppings ice cream, that seems like a good way to win your hart.
I don't know why, but there are at least three film franchises I can think of (Home Alone, The Mighty Ducks, and Sister Act) where I saw the second film before the first.
The Trump cameo wasn't that random, he made them contractually obligated to put him in the movie, because it was his hotel at the time. Anytime some film production used one of his properties he made them put a cameo of him in it because he wanted to be a celebrity
LOL He's been a "celebrity" his entire life, champ, everyone loved him before he decided to run as a Republican, then overnight he became Hitler for some reason, when Taylor Swift was on the cover of Time nobody compared her to Stalin or Hitler, it's propaganda for the slow crowd to digest
Trump actually demanded a cameo for filming in his hotel...it's on brand for an Uncle Frank (I just now decided to call him that for the next 4yrs). The actor playing Marv is getting attention this week...he lives on a farm doing sculpture. ....my mother bought me a prop brick after this movie 😇
These 2 films will never not be funny to me! I grew up on Laurel and Hardy (which is peak physical comedy), and the way Harry and Marv react/overreact always reminds of them. If you ever get a chance, doesn't have to be a reaction, watch some old Laurel and Hardy films if you haven't.. you won't believe how funny it is for something that started out as silent films and went on into the 30's! One in particular I'd recommend is 'Way out West'.
Physical comedy can be amazing!! Growing up with Bugs Bunny, that's all I could think of watching this. I'll have to look up Laurel and Hardy though, this is the first I hear of them
Keystone cops meets a Christmas story except the crooks are in the cop role. Wouldn't go that overboard on sweets but could go for some NY strips, Porterhouses and some other steaks.
And I wouldn't be watching the kinds of videos that Kevin saw here either-- I would have my favorite classic television shows with me (The Streets of San Francisco, Wanted Dead or Alive and Emergency! would probably be the ones I'd have).
Kevin ran into the agent at the door so his pass was on the floor with all of the ones she was already holding. There was no way to check it! 😊😊😉😉👗👗👠👠❤❤

You’re right regarding the potential deaths. Some years ago trauma specialists concluded it takes 14 Marv‘s and 9 Harry’s to complete the first two movies.
28:57 I have the same reaction every single time hahaha
Home Alone 2, Clue, and IT were my first introductions to Tim Curry as a kid.
Clue was fantastic!!!! A clever and funny murder mystery 🤩
One of those movies is not like the others!
@@chadkent327 I still watched them all when I was a little kid.
Waiting for the next one! 😄
I've been waiting for this video since November, and it was absolutely worth the wait! I love your reaction videos-they're always so fun and genuine. Keep creating amazing content; you’re doing an awesome job!
Thank you so much for the super kind words!!! 🥰 I'm glad it was worth the wait, it was such a fun movie!!!
@@VerowakReacts You're so welcome! 🥰 Your reactions made the wait totally worth it. It’s such a classic movie, and watching your commentary just made it even better. Can’t wait to see what you react to next!
I put bird seed on myself before and had attracted a massive flock of pigeons. It's really not a big deal. Marv was just being a coward when he screamed in that high pitched voice
yes, he has phobias of both birds and spiders. Daniel Stern/actor as well has those that is why his screams are so believable
It's a pretty high price for forgetting about Kevin... Again 😂
This is 1992 $967 price.
We're close to 2025.
@@yorky1982 Yeah, I'm not saying its not a lot of money, but for a luxury hotel in NY for a few days stay wouldn't be surprizing.
It was a fitting cameo trump owned the Plaza at the time
The cassette recorder toy became very popular for a while because it was released about the same time as the movie.
I remember some kids having a "Yak bak" when I was growing up, so I guess the Yak Bak is an upgraded version of the cassette recorder
This one was called a Talkboy (later they made the Talkgirl, the same but pink). It could record, then play back either sped up or slowed down.
The only thing that is totally unbelievable about this movie is that the tree at Rockefeller Plaza was not only not mobbed but totally empty.
That's it?! 🤦♂️
Every scene is packed with unbelievables.
So Marv getting electrocuted until his skeleton showed but STILL being alive was believable??
Never been to NY, huh? it’s really only packed in the early evening right after the lighting. A few weeks into December it starts emptying out with just a few tourist stragglers once it starts getting dark. I’ve been to a nearly empty tree countless of times. Most of the tourists stay along 7th heading towards time square during the night and leave 6th and 5th pretty empty in comparison. The cathedral is also relatively empty after dark.
@zimvader25 I've been there Christmas week and the plaza was so jammed it spilled out and blocked the sidewalk.
@oindrila101 More believable than that plaza being empty, yes.
Much cheaper and also, there's only so many times this can happen to the same kid! haha
The 3rd does not have Macaulay however it's pretty good and the kid in it is good also, different family but fun. Has a young Scarlett Johansson too.
Trump allowed them to film in his hotel, and all he wanted was a spot in the movie...
The Pigeon Lady used to be a main character in the English TV series, Casualty.
25:56 I make that exact face on that part every time I see this movie. He caught the corner of the brick, too! He should have 100% died.
29:45 Live-action Bugs Bunny! So accurate.
The bricks to the head are particularly gnarly!
I seem to remember you can book a home alone experience at the actual plaza hotel😂 Also Trump appears in the movie cuz its his hotel they used for filming if i remember correctly
Imagine the construction team returning to the townhouse and finding the state its in.
I can imagine the reaction of a site foreman finding the power and ground clamps from the arc welder attached to the sink and losing his mind.
that recording machine was a top seller that christmas
the skeleton bit when hes getting shocked/electrocuted is pure genius and incredibly hilarious
Ikr? It gets me every time and I watched this movie more than 20 times 😂😂💀
Absolute genius, yes, I loved it!!!
You know, I just thought of something - I'm pretty sure that would poison the birds... like, I don't think varnish is particularly safe to consume.
Marv turning into a skeleton and when he falls through the floor yelling ”Harry, I’ve reached the top!” always get’s me laughing out loud😂 Would be awesome to see a reaction on Home Alone 3 too!
Marv is like the energizer bunny.. he keeps going and going and going 🤣
Funnily enough, I had a friend with six children (I had three), and one time when they were visiting they left one of their kids at my house by accident.
Hahah oh no! I hope they didn't get far before noticing that
@ It was about 30 minutes later the boy walked out of one of my kids rooms and I called them. I think they had already turned around at that point, I can’t remember.
Remember this; every time there is something John Hughes-related, it will always, most likely take place in Chicago, just look at his other movies and you'll see ;) =)
That recorder exist for real, I think it became a big seller after it showed up in the movie back in the day. If you still want one it's most likely on Ebay, problably expensive unless you're lucky and find one for cheap.
Rob Schneider, yep.
There's a name for Marv's condition; Cleptomaniac =P
Oooh, a Simpsons line! Nice! =D XD =)
36:16 In case you didn't know, that's Mac's little brother Kieran, who still became an actor in his adult age too.
The mom getting mad at the hotel for letting Kevin book a room makes no sense. If they didn't he would be out on the street. That would be worse.
I feel the correct answer is that staff would have kept the boy secure and called the police about the credit card to find his parents.
Another classic, plus I love the pigeon woman more than anyone from that point on. 🎄☘️🤗
Pigeon lady is so great and so real. I love both her and the old man with the shovel from the first movie.
I have to laugh. I saw the first one on vacation with my girlfriends family in Florida. By time this movie came out she had left me.
I hope the weather in Florida for you was better than for Kevin's family! 🤣
That cop at the end really fired a shot into the air in New York lol. Wonder where that bullet will come down?
I always wonder that when people shoot guns in the air 😨
I was literally telling my mate earlier this evening "Keep the change ya filthy animal!"😂
🤣🤣
Home alone 3 is also great but it’s a completely different story with a completely different family.. people give the 3rd movie hate but I think that just bc they wanted it to keep going with the same cast.. but honestly how many times could that plot play out with the same family without CPS being called lol
He gives her a turtledove. As if she didn't have enough birds already.
Kevin's traps in this one are straight out of the Saw movies.
Happy holidays, Verowak.
🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁
Happy Holidays to you too!!!
Home Alone 3 is underrated, its definetly a good time, you should check it out.
Yes. He was the only one up there because he was the only one who didn’t know the planes were on their way.
🤭🤭🤭
I watch this every Christmas! 🥰
Do you also order room service every Christmas? 😂
@@VerowakReacts no I don't.
I really like Home Alone 3 as well. I find the new kid adorable.
Please note: DO NOT watch any other Home Alone movies! Lol

Hi Verowax hope your having a Merry Christmas!🎄🎁❤️
Thank you, you too!!
14:14, that store was created for the movie, it doesn't exist
8:37 That's Piers Morgan.
I've never seen a reaction to "Angels With Even Filthier Souls."
That's because it's not a real movie
@chrisconnell1075 Yes, thank you.
Such filth! 🤣
Happy holidays to you too!!
Set up a pobox for the channels and I’ll send you all the cookies you want, merry Christmas girl
"Those poor burglars" 🤣
"Those poor burglars". Lol.
Ok... I was halfway through the video and I was like Vero needs a vacation that includes a visit to a toy store with some cookie toppings ice cream, that seems like a good way to win your hart.
I'm taking a week off soon, and I'll be baking myself some cookies!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@VerowakReacts enjoy, both the cookies and vacation!
Personally, if I were in this position, I'd be wanting to find book stores or video stores, rather than toy stores (that's just me, though).
Merry Christmas @VerowakReacts
I hate Uncle Frank either, especially when he calls Kevin a "jerk" in a first Home Alone movie...
I don't know why, but there are at least three film franchises I can think of (Home Alone, The Mighty Ducks, and Sister Act) where I saw the second film before the first.
Did that affect how you saw the first films?
@ Not particularly. The Mighty Ducks first movie was a unique situation, since we recorded it off of NBC, so it was edited for time and content.
LAST comment, lol... i may use the phrase "wow, what a hole" more than i need to; especially now I work on construction sites ;)
If anyone is interested $967 in 1992 is about $2,174.50 today, so Kevin racked up quite the room service bill 😂😂😂
Letting them film in his hotel in exchange for a cameo is a great deal, but I do love your bitterness LOL
Haha, I got your Simpsons reference! Take 'em away, Toys...
27:09 ouch 😂
No reactor has ever noticed that Kevin is standing on top of the World Trade Center!
I'll have to look up Laurel and Hardy though, this is the first I hear of them
Daniel Stern (Marv) and Joe Pesci (Harry) are the best villains ever :) and of course great actors :)
Average US salary in 1992 was $25K/year. Kevin's salary is 18X that.
Hi Verowax hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Hi John, I am, I hope you are too!!
"SUCK BRICK, KID"
Keystone cops meets a Christmas story except the crooks are in the cop role. Wouldn't go that overboard on sweets but could go for some NY strips, Porterhouses and some other steaks.
And I wouldn't be watching the kinds of videos that Kevin saw here either-- I would have my favorite classic television shows with me (The Streets of San Francisco, Wanted Dead or Alive and Emergency! would probably be the ones I'd have).
Just realized what hotel room has TWO doors to the hallway???
Trump was NOT a random cameo, he owned the "Plaza Hotel" back then. I forgot how much I enjoy your reactions. 🤣🤣🤣
The fact that the adults didnt check the boarding pass before letting Kevin on the plane is a bit of a plot hole haha love this movie
Kevin ran into the agent at the door so his pass was on the floor with all of the ones she was already holding. There was no way to check it! 😊😊😉😉👗👗👠👠❤❤
