- The Indian Super Chief Limited is a serious rival to the Harley Heritage and today I'm gonna tell you why it may be better than the Heritage, pros and cons and see everything the Super Chief has to offer.
Good video. I have the Super Chief Limited in the same color as this one. I have dealer upgraded heal toe shifter and highway bars plus I added a back rest so the Mrs. doesn't go flying off the back. Mine has the stage 2 performance upgrade kit. In sports mode it moves! Been riding Japanese cruisers since 1981. Finally pulled the trigger on made in the USA and zero regrets. I've looked at HDs over the years, but couldn't get past those shaking handlebars, and not really into the HD "culture" . This is the best bike I've ever owned or ridden. Member of the tribe for life.
Having owned a Springfield the addition of lower fork wind deflectors make all the difference in quieting the helmet buffeting at Highway speeds.
Love those Indian motorcycles❣️
They just keep getting better and better👍
I really like the super chief. The only thing that Indian should change. Is the super chief should have a bigger gas tank 5 gal would be perfect. Keep the small tank on the other chief versions
Five, 5.5 gallon would be great, and I would subjectively wish they would put different fenders for non-bobbers. Don't care for the chopped look, but other than that, it's such a great looking motorcycle.
Oh man are you correct.
That tank is relatively tiny for the size motor it is (mine is only a 111)!
Silver lining, a 52 year old rider has to pee as often as the bike needs gas on a long trip…. Maybe Indian was on to something 🤔
Purchased one last week. The gas tank is too small.....I was shocked after my ride home to see it was down by a third! But the SPORT mode changes the bike's throttle from being just a throttle, to a flying BEAST with a short twist. So far the PERFECT bike for the way I ride and/or use it. Thanks for the lowdown!!
Hi Hegshot, I love your video's in the way you explain everything, making it easier to understand. My question is.., would you say that the suspension on the Super Chief is softer than the suspension on the Chief Bobber?
Kind regards
Couldn't ask for more from a bike...if I want more than this, I'll buy a Jeep. LOT of 'better than Harley' not being pointed out here...from more power (than the compared Heritage Classic', to the Ride Command with GPS (no phone required), to the 30% more hp/torque...a hidden $2,000 Harley adder-fee...and lets not forget, at all, how Harley has no understanding of what 'MSRP' really means...since that Super Chief (in real-world numbers) is going to be around $25,000...where that comparable Harley, at most dealers, is going to cost you $35-38k, just to get out the door...
Can’t wait until you do a video on the new 2023 Indian Sport Chief. Take care and God bless.
The right button on the handlebar is only for answering your phone, if it's connected via Bluetooth to your bike.
Question ❓ how old is old for Harley Davidson heritage buying used?
next up... Indian Sport Chief!!
Yup. I rob at AMerican Biker sent me the link when I was reviewing this 🤘🏻
Its wild that my 2001 voyager xii weighs the same. It has a full metal cage for fairing and a full metal structure for tour pack. I wonder where all the extra weight comes from on that stripped down bike?
Howdy, from "The Lone Star State". Being 71 yrs. of age, and having a sense of balance, no longer what it used to be, I have been researching lately the possibility of purchasing a Trike. Which brings me to my question. Do you know what would be involved to convert an Indian Super Chief Limited to a three wheel platform? From my current research the Indian 116 considerably out performs the Harley M8 114 that comes in their Freewheeler.
I have the 2020 Indian Chief Dark Horse, did a test ride on this bike. Indian missed the mark. Less rear travel on the suspension smaller tank, mine is. 5.5.
Why would they go backwards on tank capacity and suspension travel?
Keeping my 2020 20,000 miles no problems at all.
Have the red colored one on order!
How do ya claim to like motorcycles and seem to hate the wind? I've never understood people like this.
You think I put in all this work and hate the wind lol? I prefer the convenience of baggers, how true they hold the road and how long you can ride them. Purists say it's "hating" the wind but I say it's enjoying the wind in style
It's really not hating the wind, it's how the aerodynamics beats you up like a bobblehead doll. Sometimes it's way more comfortable to have no windshield and to just slow down a little. I have a Springfield with a Freedom shield and fork deflectors that keep the helmet shake to a minimum.
I see the left bag is open didn't you check the bike before you left?
Throttle side trigger answers and hangs up the phone when it is connected to the Ride Command via Bluetooth.
Nice bike I own a Heritage anniversary 114 but I would look at that bike when it's time for a new one. I hate heal shifters I guess it's personal preference.
Ride mode changes when you let off the throttle not when you come to a stop
I need this bike!!!
Never got a shot of you just sitting on the bike to gauge the setting position….🙈👍🇬🇧
Do the bags come off
Love this bike but I love my chief dark horse to 😊
Do you have any experience riding the Harley Fat Boy? If you do, how does it compare with Super Chief Limited? Thanks!
I have a fatboy and the Super Chief is a much much more nimble bike.
Assume those tires have inner tubes which is a deal killer for me.
Better Indian brings back the classic front fender. Like in the 40s
The right button changes ride mode.
Only thing I dont like is the black rims rather than chrome ,black looks like a WLA
I prefer my 2022 Heritage Classic 114
I love my 2018 Heritage the Chief looks to much like a Slim to me
Half the video is about a nav system and the rest is about how it’s not a touring bike. So why does it exist? So you can stop at every other gas station instead of every gas station like the scout? I own a scout icon ABS. If I were to trade it in, bigger gas tank, way better suspension, bags, windshield, and not way a lot. Don’t care about GPS. I have a phone and blue tooth and I think it’s silly to be looking down all the time at something like that on a bike. If you do GPS, it needs to be on a HUD to the helmet visor or the wind screen.
triumph t-bird far superior to both
I like the fake plastic oil tank on the heritage
Fake, yes, plastic, no take them off and inspect them they are actually metal. At least on a 2021 model .
The Heritage is a better bike
