Gerry, I love your videos because: 1) You get right to the subject without a 20 minute blab-fest like some UA-camrs do 2) You make me laugh 3) I always learn something useful and cool, which is hard to do because I’ve been an avid crafter for 40 years! Thanks for keeping us laughing and learning! Now, off to get my laminator and crayons….
This reminds me of using waxed paper to preserve autumn leaves. As children, we used to use crayon shavings between the paper and then iron it. This October I made a large sheet of orange and red maple and green ginko leaves between waxed paper and I am using it over a frosted glass shade which is too bright with LED bulbs. It is so pretty with the light shining through. I could see your paper as slimline cards. This would make many cards. Sentiments about hope (recovery from illness or grief) and promises kept (wedding vows, anniversary) would go great with the rainbow. Merry Christmas and a peace filled season blessed by God to you all.
Thank you for sharing the laminator discovery. All the while watching, wondering if the inside of your laminator is damaged.. Glad the jam print was freed. You are brave & wonderful. Merry Christmas.
Good day. I appreciate your transparancy and sharing your creative exploration and paper jam. It was delightful to see. Wishing you the spirit of our saviors love all year.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. This is truly amazing and something I never thought of but the paper is simple gorgeous. Putting this technique on my list of things to try. Love when I big time mess up turns into something wonderful. Can't wait to see what you have in store for 2022.
Oh wow! You blew my mind! 🤯 Seriously. When you put in that lemonade sheet and put the two carrier sheets on the bottom I was so excited to see what was going to come out. Because when you had put the other ones in first I kept thinking "WOW... what happened to the rest of the color?". Because you could tell it had squeezed out at the bottom and I was 🤔 "Is it going to get on the next page?" So yeah I'm so glad you did that. It was so stunningly beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do with it.🤔😍 Have a fabulous Holiday Season!!! 💛TR
Very cool. I have many pouches and lots of crayons. This is going to be so fun. Thanks bunches. Love seeing pics of your flowers and sweet puppy. Thanks for sharing it all.
Fabulous Gerry, sometimes mistakes are happy accidents and wow for the last 2 runs through your laminator, they are amazing. Take care and happy new. Sandy
Totally Coolio! One of the comments made me remember, once my mom had us dump out our crayon bucket and take all the little pieces and scatter them on typing paper (which is what it was called then, 😄) and then she would put wax paper over it and iron over the top for us. It was pretty awesome
Amazing ideas with your laminator using Distress Crayons and Gelatos Art Crayons. I have all of them and can't wait to try your techniques. Merry Christmas🎄
This video is awesome-and you make me laugh! I am super impressed that you were able to take apart the machine and put it back together! I love all of the results! Thank you for sharing! :)
That is so cool. It reminds me of the project I did with my kids when they were little. We took all their broken crayons, removed the wrappers and melted them in a large frying pan, then smooched up the melted wax with white cardstock. I had lined my frying pan with aluminum foil so there was a bit of extra crackle effect.
Thank you very much for this Video. It reminds me of my own experiments with my laminator last year. I thought my laminator was destroyed, but I could repair it. My paper also didn’t want to come out. My mistake was to use only the pouch with some glitter and I think it was embossing powder. You can avoid it with a small stripe of paper in the part of the pouch you put first into the machine. You made it wonderful and could also fix it. 👍😉🤣
I just love your sense of humor! And this project is fantastic! Definitely going to give it a try. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful holiday season!
Thankyou for sharing this with us, sometimes happy accidents happen and its nice to see that things don't always go to plan even with professionals like yourself, happy holidays x
Merry Christmas Gerry! WOOWWWW that result with the paper in the laminator is absolutely stunning! What a happy surprise! The crayons melted in the laminator sheets also turned out so lovely, what a neat idea. You are so creative, I love how you explore different ideas in your crafting!
Wow! So the crayon squished out from the bottom of the pouch onto the papers? It didn’t look like you went down that far in the pouch but I’ll watch again. Thank you so much for the wow and for cheering me up - I broke my shoulder and arm so can’t craft or do much though remind myself to be grateful to be home from the hospital! Happy and colorful holidays!
I agree with Jancass51 - to the point and laughter too. LOVE the print off on the paper. WOW! Like it better than the packet print 😺. Great job! What happens when an artist "plays" is usually the best anyway.
Cool idea! To prevent the pouch getting stuck you can place a strip of cardstock in the pouch on top. I have seen this done by another UA-camr who does a lot tutorials with laminating. Lovely English lady!! I think because the pouch is some sort of plastic, and doesn’t insulate as much as paper, the crayons getting hotter and getting more liquid. And thus spread out more easily… Are you going to make cards with your beautiful sheets? Thank you for sharing 👍
great tip, thanks for sharing💖 with me the reason the pouch didn't go through were the big chunks😱 the laminator seems to pic up the pouch with or without filling😉 The crayons spreading in the pouch makes sense but the transfer to the paper, still kinda mind boggling
I think if there is more than enough to spread out, it will be pushed out. Zeg maar een overstroming van waskrijt, LOL Beter op papier dan in je laminator 😉
Wow! Wow! Wow! Thanks Gerry this would make a brilliant gift idea for the kids at school for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Fetes etc. I shall certainly suggest this to my colleagues. Thank you for the inspiration. Hope your Christmas and New Year are safe, happy and filled with lovely moments and memories. Cheers with a (*grin*) from somewhere you don't need a laminator to melt crayons this week - just stick the sheet in the sun, along with an egg on a metal surface. When the egg is fried in 10 seconds, the wax artwork will be ready! (I am so about to empty the freezer so me and the cats can climb in)
thanks, that's a fab idea, children love crafting and often colours💖fantastic tip about the crayons without the laminator using the forces of nature, very environmental friendly and time saving cooking food in the meantime🤣

Great technique. I am in the market for a laminator, which one did you use I did not see it listed in the supplies, also what is your opinion of the machine. Thanks
thanks💖 I used a Leitz (no link as I don't link to Amazon, way to much work and no rewards😉) I love the machine it's very quiet except for the beeps it makes when it's ready. It's a bit more pricey because it's an A3 size and it laminates very smoothly and the pouch comes out nice and flat as well. But a cheap laminator will do the trick as well, I had one and that was definitely more noisy but it works and a good option to consider if you are using it for crafting. Hope this helps💕
Fun, I put this on my list to try out. Those would make wonderful planner/notebook dividers. What happens I you only use cheap children crayons? Distress crayons are much more saturated I think. I appreciate that you keep the video short and focused.
