Laura is a living legend. Her career spans decades. This song is about a romantic relationship that went sour, leaving her broken hearted. It is undoubtedly the best cover of this song there is, way better than even the original. Because Lara Fabian is a master performer in all the languages she sings in. No wonder that Dimash, the current best vocalist on the planet, considers her his idol as he was growing up. She definitely is inspiring the next generation of singers. Too bad not many people in the US are familiar with her.
@@ThatSingerReactions I know that she is a good singer, but I have a link to a young lady named Emma whose version of this song nas captured my heart. When you hear about people LITERALLY dying of heartbreak... In the song, she was ill but didn't quite die. This performance is insane! She was so THERE; if you watch the whole thing, it takes her a bit to come out of it and even acknowledge that the audience is even there. AMAZING! 🤩😍
Thanks for your genuine reaction to the amazing Lara Fabian! Lara is a phenomenal singer and Artist and she is absolutely unmatched as a live performer, and not only is she vocally perfect, but she also is a true Queen of Emotions and no one can compare to her. This performance of «Je suis malade» is an absolutely brilliant timeless Masterpiece of the Highest Class! In my opinion this incredible Lara’s performance is one of the very best live performances ever in the whole history of music. I have seen this performance countless times and every time Lara's voice pierces me to the very depths of my soul and brings me to trembling and tears. Lara is simply out of this world…
Now that's a performer and story teller in song. Rare as hen's teeth and definitely one the best I have seen in my life. Another truly emotional example is when she does Je t'aime live in 2001 when the audience take over. Nick, if you enjoy the chills, watch it!

she's really extraordinary!! you should react to "Adagio" or "You're not from here" by her Her technique is very good and she knows how to emote very well too
7:24.........the transition to an a cappella sequence is stunning........though she did not write this, her interpretation is the standard....."juh swee malahdah".........that emotion is absolute despair at giving her life to a non-caring man
It took her over a minute and a half to regain control of her faculties, she was completely spent, and the audience never stopped the entire time, knowing it seemed ,the magic they had just witnessed.
That performance so dramatic had me on edge of my seat every time I listen 2 it. Love when she sings adagio and curaso back in late 90s she is one of da best
I really love English language, I speak it quite fluently... But, sorry, I may be wrong for most of people, but I have the chance to be French, very hard language even for so many French people, believe me, and, to me, it's the most beautiful language of the world (even if I think we're not lucky for the governments we have for so many years, it's another subject)... I try to be objective, but I can't... By the way, even if I really love French singers , my favorite music is and always be from UK just because the groups and singers of the 70's invented real music, creative music... As you can see, I'm a French-English culture in musics... Sorry for this second post 🙏
Sorry again... She's mainly talking about a very toxic person she loves, I know what she means, a lot of people, in their lives, know what she's talking about... It's horrible, you can't forget because they take you everything, even yourself... It seems you're very young but just be careful, that kind of people is very intelligent, they take their time before making you feel as a big sheet and kill yourself... I wish you won't meet them and be happy because, as I can see, you're a beautiful person and you don't deserve that.

Please react to her performance of You’re Not From Here from the same concert. That is my favorite vocal performance by her thus far. Masterful belting on display!
hi from france. as seen at the beginning of the video it is a cover (original song by serge lama 1973) the story of this song is that his girlfriend had to leave france for professional reasons only returning very little to france. one day he explains the situation to his friend alice dona by saying "it makes me sick" and alice who was at the piano starts "i am sick" which gives serge lama the idea to make a song out of it. he writes the text in 30 minutes (he will say later "given the success she had I am ashamed to have only taken 30 minutes to write this song). and at the start of 2000 lara fabian decides to sing this song
Thank you for reacting so sincerely on this song I listened since Im a child. It’s written by SERGE LAMA, and I used to listen to his original version but the one of Lara is wonderful. Lyrics speak so much to me.
Before I watch this... I am so excited!!! Lara is EVERYthing!!! 💖 After: You can really see how Dimash has been influenced by Lara: not just the incredible vocal techniques, the dynamics - but how seriously they both take their roles as consummate storytellers. Lara is IN IT. Every word is authentic; every note flows through her. Loved this, as always. 🥰
@@ThatSingerReactions On that note 🎵 😉 - you simply MUST experience "JE TÁIME" (Live, 2002). It will not be what you expect- but I know you'll appreciate it. Some background without giving it away: What happens was planned. Legend has it that, at that time, Lara was enduring some significant hardships in her personal life, so her musical director (and pianist) worked his magic and created an unforgettable moment for every single person in that room - especially Lara. Also worth noting: "Je t'aime" means "I love you" in French - but listen for "on t'aime" ("we love you").
FYI: Lara Fabian wrote "Your Love" with Igor Krutoy (Dimash's piano player) specially for Dimash to sing. There's a 4 octave range in the song. You might love it too.
You're right that it's an older performance, like 1999 or something. She's had a long and brilliant career and has written so many great songs and sings them so well, sample her work from different eras if you can. Thanks for reacting.

Hey, if you haven't watched it yet i advise you "Lara Fabian - Je t'aime live paris 2001" the most beautiful and powerfull connection between an artist and his crowd that i have never seen
For one of the most intense live performances, review her singing "Je t'aime" live in Paris. It's one of the most amazing and authentic interactions between singer and fans. A little backstory, as Laura was going through a difficult time in her life - even contemplating suicide - her pianist and fans came up with a message for her. Watch it, it's worth it.
I lived long enough to know that if a woman ever gets a look like Lara had on her face in this song, the exactly one and only thing left to do is to get somewhere else, fast as you can. FYI "Je Suis Malade" ~= I am heart sick. In the song she can't smoke any more. She drinks, but all the whiskys taste the same to her; he's taken all her words, and she's going to die alone. Lara portrays one severely love-sick, unhappy woman in this song. She lives it in front of you. No one sings this like a 20 something Lara Fabian did in the 1990's. She's still singing, and very well. Just her and a piano in 2020 singing "Par Amour" ->Through Love, is at UA-cam video: "Lara Fabian - Par Amour (Live piano-voix)"
Hi buddy, lover your reaction! Lara Fabian is the real deal! You already reacted to her singing Caruso and you loved it! Please keep reacting to her ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very interesting that the song is true. I don't think she was holding a grudge with her mother. She was comparing the anguish and despir her mother leaving her at night with the boyfriend leaving her. The emotion and passion in her voice is a God given thing. She has been blessed as we are to beable to hear her.
Thanks! I liked your reaction to this amazing performance. We can tell you don't pretend. The song is about a toxic relationship where she is madly in love and he is playing with her somehow, and comes and go, where he might take it lightly when she is crazy about him. Interestingly enough, the original is sung by its creator, Serge Lama, a man, who suffered this excruciating treatment from the woman he passionately loved.
In my view, she outshines Celine Dion by far. Though born in Europe, she's been a Canadian for quite some time. She’s from Quebec, like Celine, but it’s a shame she’s not as renowned.
Aw honey. This is all about a man and she compares her despair to her childhood when her mother would leave her alone. You should probably watch this again and pay closer attention to the words. Love your reactions ....I watch them all!
When shes says "comme à un péché", translation said "like a peach", which is waaaay off, even for auto-translate. Does not make any sense. Proper translation is "like to a sin". I'm French Canadian. We adopted the talented, beautiful, lovely Lara a long time ago. She's one of us and we love her.
Not her Mother! You got so caught up in the performance you lost track of the Lyrics! The composer of this song was writing about a long term affair with his married lover who kept him dangling for years whilst promising to leave her husband for him. And whilst Lara is an exceptional story-teller; one gets the impression from how Lara gets so deep into the this one that maybe she had a hopeless & devastating love affair herself - somewhere along the line... Or maybe Not! She gets deep inside every song and delivers to perfection. Yes. A truly masterful powerful heart shaking performance from one of the best artists on the planet
For the record she sings "like to a rock, like to a sin, i'm clinging to you" not "like to a rock, like to a peach i'm clinging to you" ... Which was kind of funny though
We marvel over Dimash, but this is the woman that make his heart go pitter patter. She is will over 20 years older than he, but he cares not, she is the woman he adores. They met a few short years ago at an Igor Krutoy Birthday bash and performed together along with the Great principle soprano from Russia's Opera. Here is the performance. One can clearly see when Dimash turns to Lara that his entire demeanor changes. (5500) Dimash Kudaibergen Lara Fabian Aida Garifullina 《Ti Amo Cosi》 (Official) Igor Krutoy Concert - UA-cam
