She's a great story teller. The translation doesn't do it any justice. Passion, passion, passion. The gentleman is right, Céline Dion sounds like Lara. She is Belgian/Canadian. Now that you've seen it for the first time, watch it over again without interruption. 😊🇨🇦
The part "cet amour me tue" (this love is killing me) gets me every time!... So pur, so soft, such velvet!... I have goose bumps and I have to close my eyes every time!...
The first time I heard Lara was one morning on the radio, "Tout". It pierced my heart, I couldn't explain why. It was amazing. I was listening to the radio, as usual, while having breakfast. And then, this voice out of everything. Now I understand better, even though I don't really want to understand. Merci Lara.
I completely agree! It doesn't matter how many times I listen to her, she moves me every single time! I've must have watched just this 1 video of Je Suis Melade like a thousand times and a thousand times, she just pulls me in! Just want to hug her at the end of that to make her feel better! That's some powerful stuff!
@@jamesrawlins735 I'm definitely not an expert but I believe that whatever you hear is exactly what she wants you to hear. The way she breathes loudly at some points when we all know she has the breath control, the moments she chooses to use vibrato then switch to straight tone...everything she does is for effect for her performance. The way she loudly releases her breath after singing Adagio every single time is all planned. Technical or not to you, I believe she does what she thinks she needs to do to convey the story she is telling! She has total control of her instrument so therefore, technicality is a matter of perspective when it comes to Lara Fabian!
Lara not only sings, she lives emotionally this song,a cocktail of sadness, resignation, anger, and those voice transitions from low to high without a wrinkle moving on her face!!! Great voice,i love her! Good job teacher! So far, they are the most professional reactions!
Great job noticing how she was after the song ended, not many people reacting to this performance have even watched until the very end. To me the end just so much adds to the emotional tension she created.
There is one heavenly thing bout this woman ,she sings perfectly well while singing in different languages that she knows and the phrasing n tone is awesome, I just love her
She so fully immerses herself that she has to pull herself out at the end. She stands their shaking and willing herself back from the void. Fascinating heartfelt performance.
She is a native French speaker from Wallonie Belgium ... she moved in Québec Canada a few years to study music and did most of her career in France and in French ... even though she sings in many languages.... and lived in many countries such as Russia. She now works as a judge in the Voice France.
We Brazilians love Lara Fabian very much, she has a consideration for beautiful Brazil 🇧🇷.Lara Fabian and spectacular. I loved the reaction.kisses from Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Love your reactions, Lara is pure Genius. BEST ive ever seen or heard personally, my eyes always stream uncontrollably when I watch and listen to this Angel of a Woman.
Goosebumps every time I watch this performance. Her breathes, the piano, the emotions. Yikes. Doesn’t get any better. Thanks for your enjoyment of Lara Fabian.
Lara is a French speaker since birth, Italian speaker growing up, fluent in English, quite a bit of Portuguese and certainly other languages. But above all she is a diva, queen of emotion (often coming from experience), technically flawless and unique. I recommend "Adagio" by Lara Fabian, a little less emotional but technically at the top. This is my com'!

The story is Serge Lama's. His a french singer. His heart was broken . Lara sent a demo to him and he asked her to join him in Paris. They went on a TV show and after she was allowed to make it part of her repertoire. I saw that Tv show... that was something.
Lara has both Canadian and Belgian citizenship, so French is natural to her. and yes, Dimash has listened to Lara from when he was very young. she saw Dimash when he first performed on Singer in China, and from what I understand got on the phone with Mr. Krutoy--or he called her. For his first birthday after that performance she made an informal video, singing happy birthday to him. I don't think it is on UA-cam any longer--I tried to find it again but couldn't. Thank you for reacting to her. She is such a gifted singer.
I think Lara sounds llike Céline cause she's Céline's real fan. She was influenced by her. But they have the same native language with opened vowels. There are other singers with this similarity : Nathasha St Pier, Hélène Seguara, Indila...

She is Dimash's Idol, you can clearly see how she influenced him in his very emotional Performances.. Both are very passionate and expressive, also both use the Dynamic Range in her Voice effectively ..

Nice to see a reactor who gets this. The look on your face at the end - around 17:30 - seems to be of deep respect. Viewers are blown away by vocal stunts and amazing vocalism, but the difficulty of what she does here is hard to explain.
It's so real..her love became an obsession and it appears that she has no return in everything she invested in that love. There are times when she belts out those words Je suis malade, she seems to be so desperate that it hurts inside her chest. This song was written in 1973 and it's a true story!
This song, this performance, is devastating. I sobbed the 1st time I heard it. Lara's commitment to the lyrics is total. Her performance is glorious and stunning! Thank you for your reaction/analysis.
Lara -- pronounce LA-RA -- Her parent did not want to call her Laura as the pronunciation is different between French, Dutch (Father side), Italian/Sicilian (Mother side). Lara is a native French speaker... Born in Belgium, started her career in Montreal (same as Celine Dion), now Canadian (and Belgium) citizen. Her mother is born Italian. Lara perfectly speaks 3 variation of French to the point of being sounding like the local (Quebec, Paris and Belgium French), Italian and Sicilian, English, Spanish. Also, not fluently, Portuguese and Dutch (but surprisingly good) She also speaks some limited Russian.
Lara is half Italian half belgian. She moved to Canada when she was 19 and became Canadian then in 1995. Her mother tongue is Italian and she lived in Sicily until 6 years sold then moved back to Brussels. She learned French and Flemish as well. Her granddad is American with American roots. She learned Spanish at school. This is the story behind her ability to speak speak 4 languages fluently ;!
Only discovered her last year with this jaw-dropping performance. I wholeheartedly agree with something you touched on: she is always 100% committed to the story, and never just "shows off " her (incredible) instrument. And her live performances are always electric - incredible stage presence. While she didn't write this song, she does write the majority of her material: in multiple languages. I'm simply in awe of her velvet soprano, total technical mastery, and supernatural ability to lay bare the emotion of any and every song she undertakes. Very much looking forward to more reactions.(different facets of her brilliance are revealed in very different songs. It's fascinating. For instance, it seems to me she uses a lot more straight tone in her covers of Italian songs, and it makes me curious....) Cheers!
