I've seen countless videos taken from the stands either from the Kemmel straight or Eau Rouge when F1 raced the V8 engines. You can hear them when they're leaving the starting grid. With these V6 engines you don't hear anything until they're almost right in front of you. The V8 and V10 engines sounded so much better.
I can't help but snicker when you see them coming onto the long straight here and all you can hear is the crowd and helicopter. It's like "i'm pretty sure there's a race going on somewhere" and you only hear them once they're right in front of the crowd. It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad.
If you guys actually... Idk, judged their sound by actually HEARING them IRL on the circuit, you would know that you can hear them start the race even from the Kemmel straights. They're not as loud as a V10, that's for sure and that's by miles, but they're loud, much louder than quite a few other race cars.
Anyone else not impressed with the engine sound?? jeez...get a clue Ross Brawny paper towels!!! NA V-10 or V-8 and I will gladly renew a subscription to watch them LIVE again. The turbos came and went before... times a comin for a change... If they can get rid of grooved tyres and narrow track... I mean.. what????
