The fact Jimmy can hold a book up for 15 minutes using a couple of fingers was a feat all in itself.
Great vid jimmy 👍
I absolutely loved The Terror. It’s a big one but Simmons keeps the pages turning. I thought it similar to a Stephen King story, showing the evil of men with a frightening “monster” also in the midst. Just great. To think it was based on a true story is even scarier
I loved the Terror
The Terror is my favourite Dan Simmons novel, it took me a few weeks to get through (also recommend the tv series) It's also based on true events (the franklin expedition) and I think 90% of the characters in the book are real. the HMS Terror and HMS Erebus were real ships looking for new passage. You should take a look it's really interesting.
Yeah the Show is absolutely amazing!
you should make a 2021 bookshelf tour!!
Just want to say thanks for introducing me to Grady Hendrix, just finished My Best Friends Exorcism and absolutely loved it! Definitely gonna check these books out too
No Problem! Hendrix is one of my favourite new authors for sure.
Yo bro you helped me get started to the whole dark universe book series. Keep it up man
Thank you so much for bringing such amazing content with each upload.
Great wrap up! I personally loved Handling the Undead
I'm so happy for the Odd Thomas shout out they don't get enough love, soooo fun to read! ♥
You've earned a sub from me. Good stuff
I just found the channel man I'm loving the content! keep it up! I believe I first started when you were doing a breakdown of good horror novels to read and haven't stopped since I know they're not on par with Stephen King but Would you ever do a goosebumps Video?
Thanks! And welcome!
Good video! I have the terror on my shelf but haven't gotten to it yet. Just wrapping up Dune now and then finishing Salem's Lot!
Both the Erebus and the Terror have recently been found under the ice at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean. I love Simmons book and I think it's pretty cool that both of the ships are still down there, fairly intact.
That’s really cool. Thanks for sharing that!
Crazy stuff. I just finished the audiobook to this the other day. (The Terror)
I enjoyed it. I thought it was a slog at times but very good story.
I had asked for a early navigation book in my historical fiction group and I wasn’t really expecting a supernatural element in it. And with its dominant presence in the book it threw me off because it wasn’t what I was expecting going in to it. I really enjoy the topics of cannibalism though. So tense
Great video. Glad to see you review The Terror. Any chance you have a discord?
Your hardback covers look great and well protected. What covers do you use on them? I'd love to do something similar to mine that I plan on keeping forever. Thanks 👍
Some of my hard covers have “Mylar Sleeves” (I think). It’s just a clear cover that wraps around and tucks inside of the jacket.
@@jimmymango Thank you! Your books always look great. I didnt even think to come to UA-cam for book reviews until I came across your ranking of 61 Stephen King novels and now I'm hooked!
Just found your channel and I gotta say that you have a great taste! Would love to see more of your content
Thanks! Welcome 🍻
I just read The Sun Down Motel also. Really liked it. I want to check out the author’s other books too now. I also read The Final Girl Support Group after watching your review on it. Loved it! Probably my favorite book so far this year.
If you really liked support group I would suggest trying southern book clubs guide to slaying vampires.
@@jimmymango That one is definitely on my list!
A simpler horror book I read when I was younger was 'The Hive' by Kenneth Opell, I don't remember if it was really good but I remember I enjoyed it. Just a suggestion I think instead of holding the book up you could just place it on the shelf behind you to display it :)
please do a video ranking stephen kings short stories
Coming soon
@@jimmymango let’s gooo

Also just finished The Devil and The Dark Water by Stuart Tutton nice mystery novel on a boat. (I like boat books if you can’t tell)
Do you have a recommendation for starting out with Dan Simmons? I want to get into his stuff but don’t know too much about him
‘Summer of Night’ without a doubt! That is one of my favourite novels of all time.
@@jimmymango thanks Jimmy! Love the vids!
What's the red book with the cross on the cover or did I miss that? Thanks!
That’s a Limited Edition of Horns by Joe Hill
Thanks bro love the channel keep it up!
I absolutely loved the Odd Thomas series when I was younger, but struggled going back to it recently. Still worth sticking with, though I would say Odd Hours was my least favourite
Interesting. Thanks for the feedback!
No worries, hope that wasn’t too negative, I try to give most books a chance and they are still enjoyable. Think maybe because I loved it so much first time round was hard to go back. Interested to see how you find the rest of the series
Not at all. I appreciate the honestly. It won’t deter me from finishing the series. I’ll probably have odd hours in my next wrap up.
I'm to read brother odd next koontz novel so u got me excited to read it! Have u heard of koontz Frankenstein series? I have the series but have not read it 5 book series
Awesome content as usual my friend!
Cheers
I have all the Koontz Frankenstein books as well. But I have not started it yet. I’m going to finish Odd Thomas first then give those a try.
Good to hear from you! 🍻
Terror is very good yet the author has better books. Simmons was great author when he was writing scifi, fantasy, horror. Once he wen't mainstream it wasn't good anymore.
Dude start a book club!
You should read one second after by William R. Forstchen
I’ll look into it. Thanks for the recommendation
I read that and was extremely terrifying but loved it. I bought the next book but haven't got to it yet
@@teatimewithtraceyandcrew thank you I didn’t realized there were two more books. I just got the second and starting it now,
The book was really good until the weird ending that made no sense
