My top 5 horror movies of 2024 1) Nosferatu 2) The Substance 3) Longlegs 4) Smile 2 5) The First Omen I was honestly surprised by Smile 2 and The First Omen, as I didn’t expect to like those movies at first. However, I ended up loving them when I watched both of those movies
The First Omen specially was the most surprising one for me. What I loved about The Substance is the story is so simple yet it's like an onion: there are so many layers once you start peeling it back. Is it a commentary on how overly-medicated or overly-reliant we are on drugs/medication as a society? Is it a commentary on how women are held to impossible beauty standards? Is it a commentary on ageism? Is it a commentary on the dangers or loneliness of vanity? I have seen The Substance three times now, and there's always something new I discover when I watch it. I fucking love it.
@jonesygrets6029 it is over the top, but that's part of its message...it wouldn't work without it but it's not for the faint of heart...I did a full review of it on my channel too but there are some mild spoilers 😍
This is THE top ten list I look forward to every year. I loved 'Longlegs' so much, it's absolutely my favourite movie of the year. 'The Substance', 'Heretic', and 'The First Omen' are fighting it out for next on the list. What a fantastic year for horror! Thank you for your awesome yearly list!
P.S. - I have yet to see 'Nosferatu', so it's entirely possible my top choices will be all thrown into chaos. It's a beautiful thing to have too many choices.
No, don't take it! There is no better version of you, you're perfect. Really enjoyed your comments. I too don't think 'Love Lies Bleeding' is a horror film, so look forward to it appearing in your non-horror list. Another of my favourite films of the year was 'I Saw the TV Glow', which I also wouldn't describe as a horror film, though I know some people do. Happy 2025!

Thank you Emma for another year of amazing work! This probably sounds silly and goes without saying but it’s cool how much I disagree with you on certain movies (late night with the devil and longlegs in this list for example) Back when I discovered your channel I just started getting into horror, and I can always rely on you to discover the gems. Lately I find myself having opposite opinions with you more often, and I would even get mad at you at first, but then I realised that meant I had actually developed my own taste in the genre, not so crazed to devour everything that fell into my plate anymore, and that’s a good thing in my eyes. Your channel has contributed to that process immensely!
Thanks for sharing your list! I've seen all but two films on it - and enjoyed all of them. Several of them were from your recommendation. So, thank you, again - for the nightmares? Ha. The biggest "hidden gem"? MADS. What an accomplishment. The acting from several of the parties is phenomenal. They really gave it their all. I don't know how to describe this. It's open to interpretation. You can take it on the surface level or as a metaphor. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but it turned out to be something special. What an amazing year for horror films! These ten films only represent a portion of the good releases from the year. Below there be spoilers: A Quiet Place: Day One - This was a nice small story told on a grand scale. It still came across as personal and understated. The story took a turn that disappointed me, but it's a good film. I may give this another shot later. In many ways, this is a better than - or just different - from it's predecessors. The first film was a such a nice "Twilight Zone" episode of sorts (and unexpected from Jim at The Office). Abigail - This was a very fun film. I only wish it dove deeper. Kevin Durand's performance really stood out - so much so, I looked up his filmography later - he just seemed familiar. As an aside, I was sad to learn of his tragic passing - until about 30 seconds ago. He's still alive and well! Strange Darling - I really liked this film. EXCEPT. Yes, capital letters. There's one scene towards the end of the film - and if you know, you know. Less than a minute that basically brought down everything wonderful the film had built up to that point. Why? This is one of the most out-of-the-blue not-bad-but-terrible (and unnecessary) choices I've seen in a long time (that also doesn't jive with the rest of the film). Without that scene, this would've been up there with the greats. I've heard others mention this, as well. While both the leads are really good in this film, I do have to shout out Kyle Gallner. He's been quietly plugging away for a long time - turning out great nuanced performances project after project. It's kind of awful how recognition for acting seems to have little to do with... acting. Heretic - Overall, I liked this movie and think it's... fine. However, the third act let me down. The writers weren't up to the task of resolving what appeared to be a clever and cerebral set-up that continued to escalate. However, the open is so strong (underscored by Grant's performance), it carried it. On the other side of the fence, the contrast with the ending was that much starker. I may revisit this in the future, after the dust has settled. While all the actors did well... Hugh Grant. What a treasure. Taking his seemingly endless reservoir of effortless charm and turning it slightly to the left. I want to know more about this disturbing character. Late Night With the Devil - What a nice and novel film. This, like many other films on the list, deserved more. I hope Polka Dot man gets more substantial roles in the future. This did what it set out to do very well. The Devil's Bath - This is in my queue (per your recommendation), but to be honest, I'm somewhat afraid to watch it. Ha. Longlegs - I liked this. It "infected" my mind while watching it and I thought about it afterwards. This may be a movie I revisit. I'd like to see it again to see what I think. It was something like a cousin to Silence of the Lambs filmed through a dirty and cracked funhouse mirror from the 70s. Nosferatu - This is my most anticipated film of 2024. I can't wait to see it. Egger's other two films are special - and the original Nosferatu and the "remake" by Werner Herzog both had an impact on me. If you enjoy film and get (or make) a chance, look up some "making of" articles or videos on The Witch or The Lighthouse. They're interesting! The Substance - This is what I imagine would be the result if peak 80s Paul Verhoeven and David Cronenberg were Brundle-Flied and distilled into a film. I'm surprised by Demi Moore's turn in this. She was perfect for the role and really committed. This could easily have been a disaster, but... it wasn't. If you enjoyed this, I recommend trying the director's earlier film, Revenge. The stylistic approach and change-ups elevate what could otherwise have been a dirty-and-creepy-need-a-shower afterwards, well, revenge thriller.
Excellent list Emma! Lots of overlap with my own. (My list is below.) Can 2025 possibly be better? Let's hope. And from Georgia where we say... გილოცავთ ახალ წელს ემა! My top ten of 2024 (minus three unseen films that might find a way to the list later). (Nosferatu, Heretic, Terrifier 3) 1) Longlegs 2) The Substance 3) Late Night With The Devil 4) Stopmotion 5) Oddity 6) Abigail 7) The First Omen 8) A Quiet Place: Day One 9) Strange Darling 10) Immaculate
I also had trouble sleeping cuz I couldn’t get LONGLEGS out of my head😂creepy ass white face in the corner of my room…Nic Cage & Count Orlok taking the cake for the actual frightening entities of 2024! Happy new year Emma🎉 Top horror (loosely ordered)- Exhuma Longlegs Red Rooms Nosferatu The Substance The First Omen Cuckoo Late Night With The Devil Abigail Oddity/Chime/Alien Romulus
I’d swap Long Legs for Oddity. The ending of LL ruined it for me. Vampires are making a comeback it seems. Looking forward to seeing Nosferatu. I love that you had Quiet Place-so well done and such a story of humanity. Will watch all your picks I haven’t seen yet. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a sucker for found footage. No matter if the reviews are bad, I'll watch it. Thank you so much for all these tips. I missed a lot of movies this year but now I have a guide!
I love that The Devil's Bath is so high up I loved it even though it was absolutely tragic. It was probably the toughest watch for me this year, weirdly next to Red Rooms. Thanks for sharing Emma!
Here's my Top 10 Horror Movies of the year. Such a great year for horror, honestly. 1. The Substance 2. The Devil's Bath 3. Alien: Romulus 4. Longlegs 5. Love Lies Bleeding (this is still a bit of a horror film to me) 6. Outside 7. It's What's Inside 8. Abigail 9. Strange Darling 10. I Saw The TV Glow Love the ranking video, Emma💝
Im not a horror fan anymore. At 63, I feel like ive seen it all. But Long Legs really grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Had fun finding the devil in each scene he appeared.
Very nice list, with a couple in there that passed me by. The Devil's Bath I definitely intend to see. Nosferatu I'll just have to count as a 2025 release. Here's my top 10, for your entertainment: 1. The Substance 2. Late Night with the Devil 3. Terrifier 3 4. Strange Darling 5. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 6. Maxxxine 7. Oddity 8. Love Lies Bleeding 9. Longlegs 10. The First Omen
Loved your list, Emma! 2024 was definitely a great year for horror. And I’m so happy the Substance is actually getting recognition in the awards circuit and is making a case for the legitimacy of horror films. My top 5 horror this year: 1) The Substance (No. 4 in my top movies) 2) Strange Darling (No. 5 in my top movies) 3) Alien Romulus 4) Nosferatu 5) Oddity My honorable underrated gem mention: For Sale (Horror comedy on Prime).
@@Lilah-Violetmy top 3 movies are Challengers, Dune Part 2, and Wicked. They’re actually tied at No. 1 but ultimately I gave Challengers the edge because I saw it 3x in theaters and it actually got me to learn how to play tennis. Lol
great video! 2024 was such an unbeliveable year for horror. so many good films like Smile 2, Heretic, Strange Darling, Abigail and Terrifier 3 didn’t make my top 10 list because the year was so STACKED
I figured you would have The Substance as your number one film, Emma! After I watched it in the theater, I said to myself, 'Emma is going to love this one', especially after what happens in the 3rd act. I have a feeling it'll make my Top 10 Best horror movies but it won't be my number one! Have a safe and Merry New Year, Emma!
Thanks for sharing your top ten horror movies of 2024, Emma. There are a few movies you mentioned that I haven't seen yet, but I hope to see soon, including "The Substance" and "Strange Darling". In the meantime, I can share a quick top five for the year in descending order: 5. ALIEN: ROMULUS 4. HERETIC 3. ABIGAIL 2. LONGLEGS 1. LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL
A quiet place day one, wwas a beautiful horror movie, emotional, people sacrificeing their lives for complete strangers and the love shared, pity in this day and age it's forgotten. One day when your out smile at every body and see how you feel. Because you just made someones day bearable
Thank you for all the awesome videos you posted this year, Emma! You should be very proud of your work ❤ Hope 2025 brings lots of joy to you and your loved ones
Great list! I always love a few surprises. Having not yet seen Nosferatu or Heretic, I’d say my fav from your list is The Devil’s Bath. Not from your list, I would include: The First Omen, Stopmotion, and (probably my number one) Azrael. Happy New Year Everybody!
Excellent list! I loved Longlegs and thought it was absolutely terrifying. Alicia Witt was so good. The Substance had the perfect cast and perfect body horror. Abigail was amazing and Melissa Barrera needs more roles. I would also recommend Alien: Romulus. Fede Alvarez keeps making incredible movies. Thanks for sharing!
My top ten 1. The Substance 2. Nosferatu 3. Heretic 4. Late Night With the Devil 5. I Saw the TV Glow 6. Terrifier 3 7. Blink Twice 8. A Quiet Place: Day One 9. Longlegs 10. Oddity Haven't seen The Devil's Bath, will keep an eye out for that. I thought Mads was rubbish and found both Abigail and Strange Darling average, but that still leaves six I agree with 👍
Pascal Plante's 'Red Rooms' would top my 2024 shortlist. 'Oddity' would be on it too somewhere. Both very creepy and unsettling films in completely different ways.
Our lists are quite different, but we both have The Substance at number 1! That's the power of a genre smashing masterpiece. Thanks for all the fun content this year, and fingers crossed for more brillant films in 2025!!
I'm worried about Nosferatu. It feels like this year's theme for me was "movies that I like, some even a lot, that still feel like let-downs just because I don't love them as much the hype suggests I should". Films like Longlegs, Strange Darlings, Cuckoo, even The Substance.
Love your list. My top 3 are very similar. The Substance #1, Long Legs #2, Nosferatu #3. Thankfully, I watched them all at the cinema. Great year for horror.
I just watched The Substance and was blown away! I dig body horror and that was the best one I’ve seen in a while and never even heard of it before your video 😮
EMMA!!!!! Great list! Such creativity this year and I haven't seen many of these so I'll get to it! Thank you for doing these videos! You are my go-to-girl for these recommendations. THANK YOU. And I know I am just fan-boy'ing out now ---- but there IS NO BETTER version of you!!!!!!! So put the substance down.
My list of the top ten horror movies of 2024. Honorable Mentions Alien Romulus, VHS Beyond, Longlegs Number 10 The Devil's Bath 9 Quiet Place Day 1 8 Oddity 7 Mads 6 Abigail 5 Infested 4 Strange Darling 3 Late Night With Devil 2 Smile 2 1 The Substance I haven't seen Nosferatu or Terrifier 3 yeti.
OH I KNEW The Substance would be #1. Its my #1 for the last decade if not longer. Love the list! My partner and I will be checking out The Devils Bath tonight because its the only one we havent seen.
What a great top ten! Nice to see Late Night with the Devil on your list- I really loved that movie! Quiet Place Day One is another movie many others left off their list but I felt like it was a heart felt movie and I loved the edition of the cat- he was a super star! Nosferatu was amazing- atmospheric- beautiful- haunting- and he was so very creepy!
1. The Substance 2. Nosferatu 3. Strange Darling 4. Late Night w/ the Devil 5. Terrifier 3 6. Smile 2 7. First Omen 8. Cuckoo 9. I Saw the TV Glow 10. In a Violent Nature *Subject to change. Have yet to see Mads, Red Rooms & The Coffee Table, all of which seem to be viable for Best of 24 lists. Got my homework to do by New Year's.
I’m so happy you put the devils bath up there. The ending of that film including the final shot is truly some of the most powerful cinema I’ve ever watched. You feel the weight of the reveal just suck the life out of you.
“Abigail” was great but yeah the way it played out made me wonder if the initial intention when it was written was for the audience to try and figure out the mystery of Valdez along with the characters and later on the marketing team thought no one would see it if they didn’t market it as Abigail being a vampire (flat out giving away the secret). I loved that movie but it could have been close to perfect if the marketing made it seem like a standard kidnapping movie only for it to be later revealed that Valdez is actually a vampiric little girl! Anyway, great video as always! 🙂✨
That's a great list, thank you for sharing these! I have added Mads and The Devil's Bath to my must-watch list; I still haven't seen Strange Darling - it got a release in my city, but only for a week and was only showing at 10PM:( My list for 2024 so far is: 10. Longlegs 9. I Saw the TV Glow 8. Abigail 7. Arcadian 6. Nosferatu 5. Immaculate 4. The First Omen 3. Late Night with the Devil 2. A Quiet Place: Day One 1. Alien: Romulus Late Night with the Devil and The First Omen were the scariest for me, but Alien: Romulus and A Quiet Place: Day One were just such great stories that they pushed into the top 2 spots.
I need to watch some of them yet, but my top 5 at the moment: 1. The Substance 2. Abigail (most fun-movie this year - for me in this genre) 3. Strange Darling 4. Longlegs 5. Heretic Great year for horror genre definitely.
Great top ten! The Substance is my number one film of the year overall. I finally get to see Nosferatu next week and I am so excited for it. I haven't seen The Devil's Bath yet but that's definitely on my watchlist now.
My top 10: (subject to change) 1: I Saw the TV Glow 2: The Substance 3: The First Omen 4: Longlegs 5: Strange Darling 6: Blink Twice 7: Lisa Frankenstein 8: Your Monster 9: Smile 2 10: It's What's Inside HM: Late Night with the Devil, Heretic, Abigail, MaXXXine, Alien: Romulus, A Quiet Place: Day One, Stopmotion, Nosferatu, Cuckoo
Okay! I did manage to see 10 or more New Horror (not just new to me) this year! I just had mixed feelings about a lot of them. 10. Y2K 9. Longlegs 8. Arcadian 7. Trap 6. Smile 2 5. Cuckoo 4. Abigail (Note that I’f I’d seen Nosferatu it would have been number 4.) 3. Heretic 2. Alien: Romulus 1. A Quiet Place Day One
She really did! Phenomenal job. I watched the Idol too & may be one of the few that enjoyed it lol, but in Nosferatu she did really well. Notably w/ body movements. Her contortions & movement in the scene w/ Thomas before they… ya know… was CRAZY!
I enjoyed this list, especially The Devil's Bath mention which I haven't heard about. I would add two honorable mentions: the great Terrifier 3 and The First Omen which is on my top 10 list this year.
It truly has been an amazing year for horror. I don’t remember even caring for 3 movies in a year for horror but this year has like 8-10 movies that are all great. If I had a top 6 it would be 1. Terrifier 3 and Nosferatu which is a tie. 2. Long Legs 3. Smile 2 4. Abigail 5. Romulus 6.Late Night I haven’t seen The Substance yet and other films but Substance is the biggest one I haven’t seen yet.
Happy New Year!! My top 3 were Late Night With The Devil, Heretic and Strange Darling. Still havent seen Nosferatu though so looking forward to watching that on Monday.
10. Maxxxine 09. Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person 08.The Vourdalak 07. Oddity 06. Smile 2 05. Late Night with the Devil 04. Cuckoo 03. Longlegs 02. Strange Darling 01. The Substance Honorable Mentions: Immaculate Stopmotion Street Trash Apartment 7A Abigail In a Violent Nature
I recently saw "The Substance" a second time. The last 20 minutes made more sense the 2nd time. It had to go there. We see this beautiful person and suddenly, we get one repulsive image after another. It happens to us all, just not quite so fast. Brilliant and unforgettable final shot. I hope it gets some Oscars.
My favorites for 2024: 1. The substance 2. Nosferatu 3. Late night with the devil 4. I saw the tv glow 5. Cuckoo 6. Maxxxine 7. The first omen 8. Oddity 9. Humanist vampire seeking consenting suicidal person 10. Longlegs
I was blown away by Lily Rose Depp! I was not expecting the performance to be so visceral and intense, but she really went for it and it was awesome to see.
1 Smile 2 2 Heretic 3 Speak No Evil 4 Immaculate 5 Late Night with the Devil 6 Oddity 7 Abigail 8 Salem's Lot 9 Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End 10 A Quiet Place: Day One

The First Omen was so unexpectedly good to me as well.
Immaculate is almost the same as The First Omen and I really liked both.

My favorite was Late Night With The Devil. Such an original take on a worn out subject matter.

Glad Strange Darling is on your list. Loved it
My number one favorite horror movie of the year was Strange Darling followed by Terrifier 3.

(Nosferatu, Heretic, Terrifier 3)
1) Longlegs
2) The Substance
3) Late Night With The Devil
4) Stopmotion
5) Oddity
6) Abigail
7) The First Omen
8) A Quiet Place: Day One
9) Strange Darling
10) Immaculate
Not enough people are talking about stopmotion. The claymation scenes are so unsettling
I would assume Nos and Heretic make your list for sure, havent seen T3 either but if its your type of horror, it'll make it too.
I also had trouble sleeping cuz I couldn’t get LONGLEGS out of my head😂creepy ass white face in the corner of my room…Nic Cage & Count Orlok taking the cake for the actual frightening entities of 2024! Happy new year Emma🎉
Top horror (loosely ordered)-
Exhuma
Longlegs
Red Rooms
Nosferatu
The Substance
The First Omen
Cuckoo
Late Night With The Devil
Abigail
Oddity/Chime/Alien Romulus
Same here! Lomglegs disturbed me to my core.
'The Substance' was a combination of 'Black Swan' meets 'Black Mirror.'
It was another amazing year for horror lovers! Keep up the great work, Emma.
Great list Emma, the Substance was my no 1 also. I was stunned for about 2 hours after watching that 😂.
Love ur end of year lists!
Happy new Year and let's enjoy some scary goodness!
You're the better version, Emma! Much love from the states, great list!
Nosferatu yessssssss glad its so high for you it was #1 🖤 And my expectations were so high I’m so glad it delivered
Happy New Year, Emma! Great list!
Here's my Top 10 Horror Movies of the year. Such a great year for horror, honestly.
1. The Substance

6. Outside
7. It's What's Inside
8. Abigail
9. Strange Darling
10. I Saw The TV Glow
Love the ranking video, Emma💝
Im not a horror fan anymore. At 63, I feel like ive seen it all. But Long Legs really grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Had fun finding the devil in each scene he appeared.
Very nice list, with a couple in there that passed me by. The Devil's Bath I definitely intend to see. Nosferatu I'll just have to count as a 2025 release. Here's my top 10, for your entertainment:
1. The Substance
2. Late Night with the Devil
3. Terrifier 3
4. Strange Darling
5. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
6. Maxxxine
7. Oddity
8. Love Lies Bleeding
9. Longlegs
10. The First Omen
Loved your list, Emma! 2024 was definitely a great year for horror. And I’m so happy the Substance is actually getting recognition in the awards circuit and is making a case for the legitimacy of horror films.
My top 5 horror this year:
1) The Substance (No. 4 in my top movies)
2) Strange Darling (No. 5 in my top movies)
3) Alien Romulus
4) Nosferatu
5) Oddity
My honorable underrated gem mention: For Sale (Horror comedy on Prime).
I'm curious to know what your top 3 movies are!
Made was insaneeeeeeee!! It just kept throwing you through a loop and you just had to keep guessing on what was going on, I absolutely loveeeed it!
Thanks for sharing your top ten horror movies of 2024, Emma. There are a few movies you mentioned that I haven't seen yet, but I hope to see soon, including "The Substance" and "Strange Darling". In the meantime, I can share a quick top five for the year in descending order:
5. ALIEN: ROMULUS
4. HERETIC
3. ABIGAIL
2. LONGLEGS
Love the list and can't wait to catch up with you and WATCH THEM ALL...!!!
Absolutely loved the Substance!
My top 10 were:

Excellent list! I loved Longlegs and thought it was absolutely terrifying. Alicia Witt was so good. The Substance had the perfect cast and perfect body horror. 6. Terrifier 3
7. Blink Twice

Haven't seen The Devil's Bath, will keep an eye out for that. I thought Mads was rubbish and found both Abigail and Strange Darling average, but that still leaves six I agree with 👍
You are the BEST and the list . Thank you for all the hard job never stop! we need you .🧠🙏🧠
Have y'ever done top monsters/creatures tier list?
Love yer stuff, Spooky! Keep on keepin' on! 💙🐰💙
Happy new year 🎄👻✨
Great list, Emma! I haven’t seen MADS but now I will!
Pascal Plante's 'Red Rooms' would top my 2024 shortlist.
'Oddity' would be on it too somewhere.
Both very creepy and unsettling films in completely different ways.
I just told someone: "I refuse to shut up about 'Red Rooms.'"

9 Quiet Place Day 1
8 Oddity
7 Mads

Always up for a new Spookyastronaus upload! Belated Merry Christmas and Advanced Happy New Year Emma❤🥳
OH I KNEW The Substance would be #1. Its my #1 for the last decade if not longer. Love the list! My partner and I will be checking out The Devils Bath tonight because its the only one we havent seen.
2024 was a struggle to overcome in many ways; But it will be remembered as a standout year for horror! Thanks Emma
It was an amazing year for us horror fans! My favourites were Late Night With The Devil, Longlegs, Heretic and The Substance!
1. The Substance
2. Nosferatu
3. Strange Darling
4. Late Night w/ the Devil
5. Terrifier 3
6. Smile 2
7. First Omen
8. Cuckoo
9. I Saw the TV Glow
10. In a Violent Nature
*Subject to change. Have yet to see Mads, Red Rooms & The Coffee Table, all of which seem to be viable for Best of 24 lists. Got my homework to do by New Year's.
I could go on and on about it, but just gonna say I’m so happy you included longlegs 💙
I have added Mads and The Devil's Bath to my must-watch list; I still haven't seen Strange Darling - it got a release in my city, but only for a week and was only showing at 10PM:(
My list for 2024 so far is:
10. Longlegs
9. I Saw the TV Glow
8. Abigail
7. Arcadian
6. Nosferatu
5. Immaculate
4. The First Omen
3. Late Night with the Devil
2. A Quiet Place: Day One
1. Alien: Romulus
Late Night with the Devil and The First Omen were the scariest for me, but Alien: Romulus and A Quiet Place: Day One were just such great stories that they pushed into the top 2 spots.
Didn't even expect to like Smile 2 for some reason and now I think it's one of my favorite horror movies.
Same! 🤩
Great list! Horror had a great year!
I need to watch some of them yet, but my top 5 at the moment:
1. The Substance
2. Abigail (most fun-movie this year - for me in this genre)
3. Strange Darling
4. Longlegs
5. Heretic
Great year for horror genre definitely.
kyle gallner is becoming one of my favourite actors, strange darling and smile 2 plus he picks and chooses the roles that he wants to play.
I absolutely loved Abigail! My no. 4 behind Late Night with the Devil, Oddity and Maxxxine. (though I haven't seen Terrifier 3 yet...)
Love your top ten!❤
I’ve seen several vids where she’s mentioned her distaste for Dan Stevens and I still don’t know why 😂😂 great list btw! We really feasted this year
He was good in Abigal.
Great top ten! The Substance is my number one film of the year overall. I finally get to see Nosferatu next week and I am so excited for it. I haven't seen The Devil's Bath yet but that's definitely on my watchlist now.
My top 10: (subject to change)
1: I Saw the TV Glow
2: The Substance
3: The First Omen
4: Longlegs
5: Strange Darling

Very good list, I’ll make sure to watch all the recommendations I haven’t had the opportunity to see yet 💜
Great picks Emma, glad you ranked The Devils Bath highly, that film is absolutely brutal and left me floored! Substance for No 1 too! 👏🏻
Okay! I did manage to see 10 or more New Horror (not just new to me) this year! I just had mixed feelings about a lot of them.
10. Y2K
9. Longlegs
8. Arcadian
7. Trap
6. Smile 2
5. Cuckoo
4. Abigail
(Note that I’f I’d seen Nosferatu it would have been number 4.)
3. Heretic
2. Alien: Romulus
1. A Quiet Place Day One
lily rose killed it. I am so glad we got to see her showcase her talent.
Heretic was my favorite this year. ❤
It truly has been an amazing year for horror. I don’t remember even caring for 3 movies in a year for horror but this year has like 8-10 movies that are all great.
If I had a top 6 it would be 1. Terrifier 3 and Nosferatu which is a tie.
2. Long Legs
3. Smile 2
4. Abigail
5. Romulus
6.Late Night
I haven’t seen The Substance yet and other films but Substance is the biggest one I haven’t seen yet.
Thanks for the recommendations. I was in the mood for some horror during the holidays so i signed up for shudder free trial 😊
A Quiet Place Day One was my fave movie of the year! I was crying my eyes out in the cinema!
Happy New Year!! My top 3 were Late Night With The Devil, Heretic and Strange Darling. Still havent seen Nosferatu though so looking forward to watching that on Monday.

08.The Vourdalak
07. Oddity
06. Smile 2
05. Late Night with the Devil
04. Cuckoo
03. Longlegs
02. Strange Darling
01. The Substance
Honorable Mentions:
Immaculate
Stopmotion
Street Trash
Apartment 7A
Abigail
In a Violent Nature
The Vourdalak was crazy and awesome! Based on a novella 50 years before Dracula.
@t7147 the practical puppet was AMAZING, especially learning the director puppeteered it and did the voice as well.
Always appreciate your videos, Emma! The Substance and Terrirfier 3 for the win for me.
My favorites for 2024:
1. The substance
2. Nosferatu
3. Late night with the devil
4. I saw the tv glow
5. Cuckoo
6. Maxxxine
7. The first omen
8. Oddity
9. Humanist vampire seeking consenting suicidal person
10. Longlegs
I was blown away by Lily Rose Depp! I was not expecting the performance to be so visceral and intense, but she really went for it and it was awesome to see.
Realy like your reviews , you know your stuff , you are legitimate ! keep going it
The film that chilled me to the bone was Red Rooms (released in the UK this year)
yes that may be on my non horror list ;)
1 Smile 2
2 Heretic
3 Speak No Evil
4 Immaculate
5 Late Night with the Devil
6 Oddity
7 Abigail
8 Salem's Lot
9 Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End
10 A Quiet Place: Day One
