Wow! This is a gift. I have had vertigo for six months, went to the doctor at least every 4 weeks in California, had all the high tech diagnostic tests to no avail. Finally was seen by a French specialist in Tahiti. He worked miracles in just one treatment. 5 days in the hospital (due to two nasty falls and lots of stitches) and $20,000 later I am almost cured. Worth every penny. Boy, I was ready to jump!
This Video affirms my good health. Thanks for posting.

Thats what happened to me, just before Covid I had vertigo and got betahistine, I don't know if it helped or not, but the exercises did. Two nights ago, and ever since, I woke up and as soon as I moved, even in the dark, the room spun! It hasn't stopped. I was vomiting to start with but its really terrifying as you feel sure something has happened in your brain. Anyhoo, I got my GP and she prescribed cyclizine which addressed the nausea and now I'm working on the dizzyness. I really think this is the cause of many accidents in the elderly. Its so frightening and so debilitating!

Thanks for creating this video. I had an emerg visit last night after having woken up at 12:30 am, I simply changed my head position and felt like I was on a tilt-a-whirl. This happened every time I turned my head left. I ended up projectile vomiting in bed and later in my living room after discovering that looking down did the same thing. Fun times. The doc gave me this diagnosis which frankly is a relief because I worried it was a stroke. I’m even more relieved that there’s exercises to help. I haven’t done them yet but once I have the courage (and a friend over) I will. Thanks again. 😊

@@doctorkhalid This is Sofia again and I would like to follow up. I've had no problem with dizziness or inner ear problems for 11 months but now I am having fullness and pain in my ears and hearing loss. I've been to 3 ENT doctors here in NYC who all minimize this and put me on decongestants and antihistamines. I have finally found a doctor who hopes that he can help me through surgery because my Eustachian tubes are not working properly. This all started a year ago after I took a flight. I just want to add that the only relief I have now until I have surgery are the Brandt Daroff Exercises which I started up again. It seems that this moves the fluid inside my ears that gives me temporary relief. Thank you again.

This has been crazy! No ear ache or anything ? I was feeling great, overdoing it as always, under stress, as my mother past away! Working with estate paperwork daily, Her passing has been over two weeks ago.
I went to bed normal. Woke up with the whole room moving almost spinning.I tried to get up and couldn’t balance myself ! I just put my head back down and just thinking what the heck?
Stubborn me I get up again to go to the bathroom with in a few steps I was flying I tried to grab the bedspread and flew up hard against a marble dresser! I thought I broke my arm in two places! As most moms know if you can move your wrist and bend your arm …You are just banged up!
I have been doing the exercises and I do feel better, however after three days I still can’t do much, the room as stopped spinning but I still feel ‘’out of sorts’ if I look down I feel wobbly again! I hope this vertigo leaves soon I understand some people have had Vertigo up to seven days? I have stuff to do ( always running) I need to get going! 😊Just wanted to explain my story, if anyone has more tips ? I am open to hear all!
    Thanks for caring, Jewel

I developed these symptoms after a car accident. I don't think they were that bad, just had difficulty standing up and walking for a couple of hours. Saw my GP thought it likely BPVV so been doing these exercises for 3 days and symptoms practically gone. I didn't feel at all dizzy though when I lay on my side, in fact, as long as my head was stationary, then I had no dizziness. If I moved my head side to side it was OK, but up and down was crazy. Head stopped but the room carries on for a few milliseconds. Pretty unpleasant experience, Lord knows how some folk with severe prolonged symptoms.

Unfortunately I was recently diagnosed with this while working in a call center setting from home and it kicked in around 2100 and by 2200, the screen was waving by in a rough pattern to my right and the world was spinning. I would compare to the feel of riding a carnival attraction shaped like a ufo that would spin, except add the feeing of sitting up while spinning. That over powering sense of nausea and spinning was something new to me outside of riding some specific rides. It was an overpowering feeling that led to (urgent care was closed) an ER visit after 0000 and it’s been 2 days and counting and though the symptoms have improved some, I still can’t look up or left-right without getting nauseous and dizzy, but atleast I can look forward and feel almost normal. I’m hoping that my employer doesn’t terminate me for calling out for this. Also hoping this doesn’t return because they really don’t seem to be very understanding of the condition. I just can’t imagine trying to work while trying to see a screen while the world spins out of control.

Or can/ should it be done only when going through or having experienced an episode and don’t want a repetition? 3/ if even a boat trip or a trip to hills - basically anything that’s not flat!- triggers imbalance, not vertigo, can it still be done? 4/ I was told when in 45 degrees, I should look up and backwards- like looking at a real tall rain standing behind my head! Not sure after seeing your video. Could you please clarify? 5/ can we fold the arm under the neck for support - for cervical necks?

Hopefully BPPV is what i have, i was exposed to high polution air in portland wildfires because i had my window over night due to unbearable heat with a box fan blowing at me while i sleep, or also maybe i had too much sodium the day before from costco pizza, while waking up feeling dizzy as if my brain is loose inside my skull, or every time i lay down in a certain way and sitting up, also walking i would get really dizzy. I will surely try this, thank you.

Was diagnosed with BBPV a week ago. ENT gave me other excercises to do where you lie 45 degrees then turn to side 90 degrees. Made me dizzy so I stopped doing them. Recommended to do vestibular therapy but it's costly. I got very dizzy last night when I went to bed with ringing in both ears and woke up today with left ear feeling full like something is inside. I ran across your video and will try these.

when I did this from right to left, I got worse but only if I lay back with my head turned completely to the right. it is very strange. I'd recovered from more severe BPPV episode over christmas and I just didn't feel quite right and a doctor suggest brant daroff exercise. I did it according to the standard NHS video and it's as if it loosened up a crystal from perhaps somewhere it was causing that sustained issue before.
because now I no longer feel like I'm walking on a boat, but I'm scared to get in bed and sleep because it suddenly and very briefly triggers off and I get worried the crystal is going to somehow find a more awkward place to end up.
waiting on these doctor's appointments are hard, she's recommended me to a vestibular but no message from them yet. I'm not sure what to do next. I get BPPV once a year almost so getting this down, and really getting comfortable with knowing what to do with it is so important to me.

Dr please help me. Im very scarred. I got these symptoms after going out with my nephews and walking them with a baby carriage. I noticed back home that my right side (ear) is affected. At night i couldnt stay with my eyes focused on one point because my eyes were spining to the right side. Very terryfying for me because im an artist and i draw. I dont want this to impact my artistic performance. I also dont sleep with pillows and wake up in weird position because of it. I decide to not use pillows because of my scoliosis. I will go to see the doctor but im certain i have this dignosis. I also have tinitus and sometimes my ears do gather lots of wax even after showering (12-24 hours after) and i also experinece that static temporal signal sound in my ears from time to time. I decided not to use headphones anymore 4 years ago. Thx for listening to me and thx for the great video Doctor.

When I get into certain positions, the intensity is a10 out of 10 and so far been impossible for me to hold. I find I can "reset" by sitting up for a few seconds, waiting for it to pass, and going back into position. Is this a waste of time or do I still have a shot of curing this in 2 weeks?

BPPV can happen spontaneously and with no apparent trigger. As explained you can get small debris that is setting off the hair cells in the inner ear. So these exercises help shift them.

I am currently suffering from this type of vertigo and have been for about a little over a week. I have suffered from vertigo on and off for several years. This time is a little more intense now that I'm older. The spinning sensation only happened one time for a couple of seconds last week. I haven't had that any more. But I I am constantly having the off balance sensation which is very annoying and frustrating. I am not having any problems with falling or anything like that but I still have to move my head slower to keep from having the room spinning sensation. I'm honestly nervous to try and attempt these maneuvers shown here because I don't want to get sick. I have not been experiencing any nausea or vomiting during this time which I am glad. But the off balance sensation is very bothersome. I guess I am asking for advice. Should I see my doctor or try and see if this will possibly work itself out? I don't know if the moves shown in this video will work but I'm willing to try if a professional would help me with it.
