You are just ridiculously cute! I seriously appreciate your commitment to sustainability, and your aesthetic. Your vintage style is never old, but just fun! As a 65 year old, I’m charmed by your delight in things that were part of my life!
Interesting vintage finds Janelle. Love the table cloth you are going to use as a picnic blanket. Looking forward to seeing more from you in 2022. Remain blessed xxx
I immediately thought the vintage tablecloth would be a beautiful picnic blanket! Something about circular picnic blankets gives me so much joy, I hope you’ll get lots of use out of it. What a great find!
I think that the mustard-green flower vintage fabric would make a great spring jacket or trench coat. It seems like it would be a great fabric for a light layer that is long and that you can pull out whenever you want to make a statement.
I am loving the idea of a coat from that blanket!!! You have to try. And that little rose cup - I was given one of those. It came with a succulent in it, and has a hole drilled in the bottom. Just watch the handle - mine fell off and I had to glue it back on.
I would love to see a video on how you can thrift flip mens shirts. They are the hardest thing to resell on the vintage market so would be great to know how we can customise them and make them awesome like you’ve done here xx
Apart from the divine dress you are wearing Janelle I am very drawn to the bedsheets and picnic basket. I am forever in love with the blouse you made from the tablecloth, so feminine and timeless vintage. Was very interested to see your pre-cut quilt pieces. I started my sewing journey with patchwork quilts years ago and love them for their vintage vibe. Modern decorating has become so bland and sterile that we have lost the cosy look!
Great finds! For the lamp shade: maybe you can find a long enough lamp cable with a plug on the one end, the bulb on the other and ideally a switch somewhere in between. That way you don't have to use the light fixture but can use it the way you'd use a hanging illuminated paper star. Then you'd only have to attach it to the ceiling. I don't think it would work as a shade for a floor lamp, but maybe that'd be another thing to try out anyway.
Great video to start the year. Thrifting is my best hobby next to sewing. Fabulous finds Janelle. I can't wait to see what you find this year and the coat project out of that fab blanket. X
I love all your vintage finds and have really enjoyed your process of turning the fabrics and patterns into lovely pieces for your collection. There's just something so nostalgic and comforting about them. Love all the houseware items too. Can't wait to see what you come up with this year!
SO enjoyable. I thrift also. I think in western Oregon the thrift stores I am near are not as loaded with the vintage finds. You are very fortunate. I DID love the wine glass the best. I am headed to GoodWill for some new ones soon. I am disappointed that our GoodWills package their fabrics in bundles so we can't choose an individual piece that we like. Finding the floral bedsheets you find is VERY rare where I am. So its hugely entertaining to see what you find! And you are SO creative with their use. LOVE IT!
The picnic basket is my favourite too! The hard top would be so handy to sit your hot drink on. Also if you were 17 in 2009 that means you’re exactly 10 years older and than me!! 🤯
Such amazing finds! I love them all but agree that the picnic basket is really special! I’d love to see a quilting video in the future. I’ve always wanted to make a quilt and even though it seems fairly straightforward, for some reason I’m quite apprehensive about it.
I totally get what you mean! I’ve been wanting to try quilting properly for ages (I’ve dabbled but never made a full quilt). I think I just need to dive in and give it a try 😄
Love it all, jelly of your picnic basket 🧺! Love the 80s dress and pattern best with the gifted sheets (when things like that happen it feels like it was meant to be!). Great work and looking forward to your videos this coming year. I think you'll love quilting, that's how I taught myself to sew. Just finished my very own quilt after 14 years of making them for everyone else 😆.
I have been thinking about going op shopping on Thursday. Watching your video has not got me even more excited to go and see what kind of bargains I can find. I love watching and have a few of your patterns so I’m planning on making my some dresses over the next few months. My favourite find of your is definitely the picnic basket aswell. It’s so cute and unique. 🥰🥂
I loved watching this video so much! You have such awesome off shops where you are! I am based in the UK and you don't always find as many crafting things! But the longer plaid dress you made in the Butterick 6950 pattern I actually REALLY love! I love the silhouette in it and the fabric is super wearable!
Hi I am from India I love your style of shopping please make a video how to choose fabric colours according to skin color to fill good and also stylish yet classy.
My favorite is the Butterick, the shorter version came out so well. It suits you so well and looks amazing. Hope you have lots of great thrifts in 2022.
I love the butterick pattern and the subsequent dress, suits you so well. I made a baby's dress yesterday from a thrifted, cotton doona cover (inspired by you), the fabric was so soft from use.
So inspiring looking at your thrift flips. I'm currently working on a mauve nightie-to-shirt flip. Your colour and style palette is so laura ashley. Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing all your delightful finds. It was such a pleasure to watch while I'm not well.
I just wish we had thrift shops as good as yours you definitely have a good eye for a bargain. My favourite item is the blouse made out of the tablecloth with the scalloped edge it is just beautiful I wouldn’t want to wear it in case i split something on it but would just keep taking it out to look at it.🤣
It's impossible to choose something, you trifted just amazing things ❤️ I wish I could find this kind of things here in Berlin, but sadly it's just about clothes. I never managed to find bed sheets.
Francesca, you could try holding a swap party with some of your friends. Each person brings bag/s of things to donate to the swap and a plate of food to share. Then each person can choose and take home what they like. UA-camr Diane in Denmark does this.
hey janelle ..i suggest the blanket you can do a wintery skirt+ her veste like classique design would be great i think...my fav item is the basket aaand the umberella stuff they are wooden i mean come on ! i hope you will find more items like those two in 2022
Hi Janelle, I particularly love your Op Shopping! In regards to your checked dress that doesn’t make the mark; could you make it shorter first, then see? Happy New Year to you and Matt, regards A. Susan.
Love the tablecloth blouse and hearing you chat passionately about what you clearly love to do. Is there a tute on that gorgeous dress you are wearing in the video?
My favorite things from your collection are the basket and the Butterick 6950 pattern! When I saw your video where you used the pattern I immediately fell in love with it and I tried to find it but I failed :( I think the waistline in it is just so lovely. I'm really jealous that you can find patterns like this in thrift stores, I'm from Poland and we don't have things like this in our thrift sotres sadly! Anyway, great video as always, your channel is my favorite!
Omg! I love that resale shop in Hobart (I wish I coukd remember the name haha)! I’m so glad you mentioned it because it’s amazing. Loved the video and I’m super excited to see what you do in 2022 :)
The skirt of this last dress (the long version that didn't turn out too flattering) looks so much more flared on the envelope than in real life. Are you sure your pattern was complete? Or is this pattern just... wrong? Weird...
You are just ridiculously cute! I seriously appreciate your commitment to sustainability, and your aesthetic. Your vintage style is never old, but just fun! As a 65 year old, I’m charmed by your delight in things that were part of my life!
My pleasure Janelle. You have made such a lovely dress! Looking forward to your next makes. X
Thanks Kylie xx
What an amazing share Kylie Rigby!
What a kind and generous thing to do! I love to see folks sharing and doing kind things.
@@shoepixie Yes, me too.
Definitely that round table cloth with tassels was my favourite!! I have been searching for something similar forever. It will come!
Interesting vintage finds Janelle. Love the table cloth you are going to use as a picnic blanket. Looking forward to seeing more from you in 2022. Remain blessed xxx

I love the light shade, and the unfinished quilt. What a great way to practice.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the blanket sews into a coat Janelle ✂️🧵
Me too! I can’t wait to give it a try 😍

Love all BUT the best was the tablecloth/blouse......loved it originally and now I've seen it again, is still my favourite ❤️ xxx
Thanks so much! Definitely one of the most special pieces in my wardrobe 😍 x
I love the top you've made out of the little dress, and the blouse out of the tablecloth! Gorgeous 😍 Definitely going to watch that video. Thank you!
I would love to see a video on how you can thrift flip mens shirts. They are the hardest thing to resell on the vintage market so would be great to know how we can customise them and make them awesome like you’ve done here xx
honestly so excited to see the blanket coat. It'll be so cute if it works out
The dark blue with a small pattern looks amazing on you!

Can’t wait for the blanket jacket. Going to look awesome.
Janelle, I can't WAIT to see your finished winter coat out of that amazing blanket. You are an inspiration!
I am a quilter. You will love the process. I am old school and hand quilt everything. Still love the tablecloth top.
Wow that sounds like a lot of work! It would be soo satisfying once finished though 😍
Omg I cannot wait to see the coat blanket !!!!
I’m so excited to start the coat project!
I Love your style, you have done such a good job making Wonderful clothes. Thank you for sharing your joy of sewing is such an inspiration.

the funnel is so cute! reminds me of one of my finds that i got excited about. a pink glass citrus juicer! kitchenware is great 🥰
I'm really interested in learning how to turn the blanket into a coat!

I love the rattan lampshade. Can’t wait to see the coat you make out of the blanket.
That blanket will make an AMAZING fuzzy teddy bear coat!
Just before Christmas I made your Daisy dress using a thrifted woven throw, it looks AMAZING and such a fantastic pattern, thank you!
Thank you! I’m so glad you love it 🧡
Such cool finds! & I'd like to specifically compliment your B-roll; it's so nice to actually see in detail the items you're mentioning 😊
The basket! I can’t pass one up. I would have grabbed that one in a heartbeat!
It was such a good find!
Can’t wait to see what you do with the giant blanket 😍
Fave item is definitely the blanket! Can’t wait to see whatever you make with it 🤗

Thrifted fabric has such a lovely softness to it - part of the reason why I love working with it so much!

I have the same problem with not finishing my tea fast enough... 😅I still drink it cold, though! 🤷♀️☕️😁
It’s summer here in Australia. You said it is winter right now. Filmed in winter?
I really enjoy to see your video. Thanks......
Your reaction to 2009 being over a decade ago is SO relatable 🤣
Such a cute and romantic style ❤
Enjoined watching this 👍🏻
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it 😊
Uh you should make a raincoat with the plastic table cover
I did make a raincoat out of tablecloth a few years ago and loved it! You can find the video here: ua-cam.com/video/BwF6bMeKCmU/v-deo.html 😊

In 2009 I was 25... I feel so old lol, but not old either.. it's a weird point being in your late 30's.
The first comment today😻
Thanks for watching! 🧡
Why don't you try to dye the dress you don't really like?
That is a great idea I didn’t think of! Thank you 😊
