Oh, dear! These things always seem to happen at the most inconvenient times. Many sympathies, and I hope you have a great time in Mexico. For me, I usually try at-home treatments before I go to a doctor, if for no other reason than it can take longer to get an appointment than it will take for whatever the problem is to resolve. So you're certainly not alone in not immediately consulting a dermatologist. Note: my own GP's office will do its best to work you in to see someone if you really need to be seen promptly; this is definitely NOT a criticism of her. My own goto products for this sort of thing have already been mentioned by other commenters - a hypochlorous acid spray like the Tower SOS, Derma-E's eczema cream or an Aveeno product, and a cortisone cream. I thought I might also mention that if someone doesn't have any of these things, you can make a facial mask with ordinary oatmeal that should help.
I'm 5 seconds in and have to comment. I had a great complexion with minimal skincare. When I started following dermatologists and favored influencers, buying many products, over time, my skin changed. The transition from good to bad was shocking.
La roche posey cicaplast baume b5 . It's specifically formulated for damaged skin. Patients who under go radiation use this product. I have used it and it works.
I wish I could add a selfie here so you could see what resveratrol did to my skin... It was scary-alarming! I want to join my vote to these ladies to say Cicaplast B5 Theraputic Cream was remarkable! And it worked FAST!
I'm sorry to hear/see what happened and what you must be going through. Thank you for sharing your story as I'm sure many women can relate and need the reminder. I'm also going to MX in 5 days! Have fun Tamara - enjoy!
Oh no Tamara! Bless your heart. I’ve been there and done that and does it not feel good at all. Thank goodness you have great recovery lotions and potions. You will have your skin Barrier fixed in no time. Even thru waking up to your skin feeling so damaged, you still have a way of including some bloopers, which always gives me a giggle. Thank you for sharing as I never do a patch test and I know I should.
I have sensitive skin and fragrance in these products give me headaches. I always test a spot on the side of my face just incase! Never know what you are allergic to.😢😢😢
Tamara, I’m so sorry you are going through this nightmare! But I want to say THANK YOU for reporting us this chaos. It’s a very good lesson to patch test new products and don’t just assume that an expensive product is the best choice. I’m learning in my 60th yr, and from humbling experience, thst sometimes the most basic, inexpensive and simplified old school products are superior to the fancy packaging and extensive designer ingredients. You’re still and always beautiful as ever, inside and out. Rest up and surrender to some “me time” indoors and laugh at that snowstorm outside 🎉😴
I’m so sorry this happened to you! I work at a health food store, and to be honest, every single skincare product I have tried from there either breaks me out or irritates my skin.
Sending you hugs & healing! Ugh, its so upsetting when this happens. This is the very reason I dont use any True Botanicals products... get well soon, Tamara!🩷💐🙏🏻🤗
Ouch! It’s like chapped skin all over your beautiful face! Thanks for sharing this awful experience and the steps you are taking to reverse the damage. Good luck on a speedy recovery b4 you go on your trip!
Short, simple and effective drugstore products could've done the job at healing. Vanicream, Aveeno, the La roche Posay cicaplast balm and also a good layer of the most casty zinc oxide based sunscreen are very effective at healing. Applying a very thick zincy sunscreen like a mask for a day works like magic from my experience.
Luckily I had Prequel products on hand...super gentle and basically drugstore priced. I did run to Walmart today and picked up some Aveeno Calm and Restore serum and moisturizer. Great products as well! ❤
Wishing you a speedy recovery I’m sure you will recover in a few days. I love the soothe & recovery cream. That’s why I’m very hesitant to try new products because I have sensitive skin. I will get reactions it all depends. I just never know.
Oh dear Lord, have mercy 😮 the thumbnail had me wanting to pick up the phone and call you!! Sending you healing hugs my friend🥰💜🥰💜 Oh my, I almost opened this true botanicals last week. Glad I didn’t. My skin still healing as you know.
When creams have such long ingredients lists it almost automatically discourages me from looking through all the ingredients but sometimes it's really necessary. I find higher end, natural, and some Korean skincare to have the longest ingredients lists.
You poor soul! I am also allergic to Juniper. I look like a red Michelin Man when I come in contact with it. It is such a painful experience. Wishing you speedy healing.
So much science! Important info about the moisture barrier, it’s real as the kids say, I’m still learning, but sorry to see you have a good example of disruption of the barrier! - so interesting about the red light helping, great demo but sorry about the reaction you had ! ❤
My skin reacts to EVERYTHING! I finally ditched my entire skincare routine because I was tired of hives. It’s horrible. I can tell you the ordinary’s rosehip oil was a lifesaver for me. It calmed my skin within a day or two when I’d have a reaction. I now only use sunscreen and Nivea’s cream in the blue tub. I have actually aged backwards which is shocking. Hugs, I hope you get cleared up quickly.
If you have a basic no-frills hydrating toner at hand, that might be nice under the prequel ointment. Something like the Cerave hydrating toner has the benefit of ceramides to help your barrier.
That was actually very helpful because I'm allergic to lots of things and this has happened a lot of times to me. I hope you'll heal soon and you will enjoy your trip!! Kisses ❤!!!
Hey there Tamara. Sorry this happened, but glad you figured out the cause right away. When you put the petroleum product on I thought about slugging. Maybe that would help. That mask was a good idea! Hope your recovery goes well and you can enjoy 🇲🇽 your trip. I'm in a quandary myself. Somehow ended up with covid oye, I'll be watching lots of videos...😢 ok take ❤care😊
Oh, yikes. I over-exfoliated a few years ago and my face ended up looking similar. It felt raw, tight, and felt like a sunburn. I ended up going to my aesthetician and she got me on the road to recovery. I appreciate the science that you described behind the products and how our skin is affected by them. ❤
Do you think Vanicream moisturizer is good for you to use while healing? You introduced me to this and I love it because it is the most gentle moisturizer I have ever used. I never feel burning tingling etc when I use it. I hope you heal quickly! 💕
This happened to me after using that same cream. I wasn’t sure if it was the culprit since it came back every other week for about 3 months. Even though I had stopped using it. My whole face and neck would just swell up . I had used several of their products at once.
I feel for you! I did this to my face once. Too much exfoliation. I will never forget the redness, and the raw feeling on my skin. I quickly looked through my stash to see what I had that might help. I pulled out my bottle of CeraVe night time lotion. It did the trick! Within 24 hours my skin felt much better! Good luck!
How upsetting. I hope you recover quickly. I got a retinal burn once that turned out like this. After a few days, I used a centella toner, pure hyaluronic acid serum, and cerave daily moisturizing lotion. Only washing face with water. That helped heal it up fast.
I have 100% faith in you that your skin will be better in no time, and will be ready for a wonderful Mexican vacation. Have a great time, relax, enjoy and come back with wonderful stories to tell us.
@ You are an inspiration to all your viewers with your wisdom and dedication for excellent skin care. If anyone can correct their skin barrier, it’s you. Have a wonderful time in Mexico!
I just did this around Christmas. I had gotten pretty good chemical peel and then while my skin was still sensitive even though I wasn’t peeling or red anymore I experimented with some new products and oh my gosh the barrier issues and breakouts I experienced as result were depressing lol it took me basically a month to heal it. The products I used that helped- Avene cicalfate Prequel gleanser Prequel hydrating serum Prequel ointment gel Elta Md restore Naturium peptide cream
Thank you for this video, hope you heal quickly. I can relate to what is going on. I have to be extra careful I have very sensitive skin. Yes Target carries some of the Prequel products. Good luck🤞🏻❤️
Oh my! I feel so sorry for you and I understand how awful it is to have a skin reaction. I'm highly allergic to methylisothialinone, which is used as a preservative in many products, from skin creams & lotions, makeup, finger nail, deodorant, hair care & color, body washes, perfume, household cleaners, laundry detergents, etc. This chemical has been found to create many skin issues and more people are becoming allergic to it. My dermatologist sent me to a specialist and I had a week of allergy testing to determine it. I had to become a "label reader" to protect myself against a skin reaction that can last months to clear up. It creates a rash that looks like dermatitis and is very, red and itchy. I wish you the best and hope you have a fantastic vacation!
I am also allergic to juniper berries, both in the garden and in the alcohol gin. I never thought about it being in a skin care ingredient. I, too, will be more vigilant in reading labels. Sorry for your experience, but thanks for sharing.
I hadn't thought of my allergy in years! (and I hate gin LOL) It must be an unusual allergy (lucky us) I never would have thought I would find it in a skin care product. But yes, a very good reminder to be diligent!
I've had this happen a few times, from various causes, and I know that sandpaper feeling all too well. One cause was not the products themselves but I learned through the course of having cataract surgery last year that the demodex mites that live on all of us in our eyelashes were getting overabundant, which can happen as we age. The breakouts I'd been having for about the year prior mostly ended after regular treatment with doctor recommended OTC tea tree oil eyewash. I think you've identified your culprit and have a good plan for healing. I did have a bad all over reaction about a month ago when on a whim I used an oil-based product before bed with resveratrol in it that I hadn't used in a long time, and woke up looking much like you the next morning. I don't know if I have a new sensitivity or the product had turned somehow and was too old. So that went into the get rid of category. It took about a week to get my skin back to normal with gentle care, no actives, just cleansing with either Prequel or the super gentle La Roche-Posay hydrating cleanser, gel moisturizer, La Roche cica baume, and Vaseline. I think I did use my non-tinted SPF too that week, the Canmake that is very moisturizing. Thanks for sharing your story and hope it heals quickly!
Oh, Tamara I feel so bad for you!! I know you are miserable. We have all been there, I know I have. I know you know exactly what you need to do, and yes you're right about Target selling Prequel products. Good Luck!!
Thank you so much Wanda! Luckily my skin is getting a little better each day. Hopefully I will be able to at least tolerate mineral SPF in Mexico. But it will be a while before I can get back to my usual skin care routine...makes packing for Mexico much simpler ❤
Good morning Tamara, I use Avene Eau Thermale water when I have "burnt" my skin from products my skin doesn't like. When plain water stings, then Avene was a godsend. Hope this helps.
Oh, Tamara, that looks painful. So sorry that happened to you! I've been there before. I hope you feel better soon and all cleared up for your vacation. 🙏 . EDIT: I should have mentioned that Dermelect has a WONDERFUL Barrier Repair Serum, as does The Ordinary. Both have helped my skin Barrier tremendously.
It happened to me as well. Fortunately, my skin recovered only with Biafine in 5 days. ( I am 20 with dry to combination skin and some acne scarring). Send you a big hug!
Sorry to see your skin so red and damaged. Mexico is not a safe place to travel...maybe staying home and recovering would be a safer and healthier venture...
I’m 67 & my skin felt like sandpaper! It’s never happened to me either! I washed with water only & used Aveeno oat calming serum & Purito skin barrier. It took about 5 days to help. I’m so sorry you’ve had this reaction.❤️
Good idea! Even though my skin is not typically "sensitive" I usually avoid fragrant oils just because I know many people have problems with them and I don't want to recommend them. I def didn't think it through before using this product. I am going to be even more diligent with studying ingredient lists! ❤
I only use LaRoche-Posay products. I hate experimenting because of this very thing. I’m so sensitive that I can’t use anything with a fragrance or essential oil. I would hypochlorous acid spray and cicaplast balm until it is healed. As bad as it is I would say even go to the dermatologist.
Oh dear, I had this happen to me for the very first time this year as well. Right before Thanksgiving and it lasted all through the holidays. I tried several different products so I'm going to keep listening to hear what you tried the two things I think that really helped me was the Belif aqua bomb sensitized skin moisturizer. That product was one of the only things I could actually put on my face. Everything hurt, and like you said it was sensitive to the touch. I had dry patches, and it almost felt like there was heat coming off of my skin. There was a polish choice serum that I used along with that moisture bomb that actually seemed to work really well in conjunction with it. It was a product that came in a green bottle that had ceramides and Beta Glucans, but I forgot what it was called. I have to go look. I didn't do microcurrent or micro, needling or radio frequency for I think about eight weeks. 😩 it's awful. I'm very interested to hear what did this to you
This happens with blisters to me anytime I use a product containing cholesterol. People scoff, but I’m allergic to lanolin AND all lanolin-derived alcohols. I’m allergic to other ingredients too. I switch back to Vanicream, antihistamines, Vaseline and HC cream (Cortizon 10 is a topical HC cream.) I keep it super basic. I recently discovered my skin suddenly reacted to something in all Cetaphil products! I was using the creamy cleanser and moisturizer (green lid for sensitive, dry skin.) 🙄🤦🏻♀️ Back to Vanicream and Vaseline. It gets so dang frustrating. I read all ingredients too, but sometimes my skin is “Nope! You are now allergic!” My wallet hates my body. 😂💜 Feel better, Tamara!
Oh my gosh Blisters?! That's awful! And so difficult because lanolin and cholesteral are in SO many products. Sounds very challenging and frustrating! Hang in there ❤
Jergens face cream that comes in a plastic tub and cost under 4 dollars at Walmart will take itvaway overnight and is soothing and moisturizing. I've used it since I was 25 years old. Im now 63. Any breakouts or irritation gone overnight. Btw, this is my husband's tablet I'm on. So sorry that happened.😢
Your FIDDLE LEAF FIG TREE is lovely Mine is sad Please talk about how you maintain yours - light source, watering schedule, feeding schedule, etc I live in the same climate as you So sorry about your allergic reaction! Fragrances are my Achilles heel
Although I have lots of house plants (mostly easy) this is my first Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree. I've only had it about 9 months. I was sort of nervous becuase I have heard they are finicky, but luckily it seems to be thriving in my apartment with huge south facing windows. It seems to love the sunlight. I treat it like all my plants, let them get fairly dry between watering, then soak the heck out of them. And giving them a shower about once a month to keep the leaves clean. I don't fertalize super often...every couple of months with basic Miracle Grow. So far so good!
So sorry this happened but very helpful video! I had an eczema flare up after using Oil of Oregano, not as a topical but ingested. I don't know how to patch test for that so I will not be trying anything new that needs to be ingested. Simple ingredients are your best bet and I have The Ordinary Squalane on hand for these emergencies.
Wow really did a job on yourself your exactly 💯 right back to basics for skin repair all the best 👍 I hope you injoy Mexico' ❤ wish prequel was sold here in Australia there really a great product line
Dermallergo serum from la Roche posay. Better than any of the cicaplast , but u can layer that serum with the gel version of cocaplast especially. Trust me. It saved my face
So sorry this happened to you, have you ever tried the calm and restore serum and moisturizer from aveeno? Those two together usally help me pretty quickly when i have a reaction.
As I have become older, and using a lot of actives, I find I can get contact dermatitis/or an allergic reaction occasionally. I can feel the itching before I get out of bed - and I am red and swollen. I have tried everything ever suggested, and most things are not strong enough to calm my skin when angry, red, inflamed and itchy. It takes so long to resolve…UNTIL I used Cortizone-10 for Eczema in the red tube. It immediately calms my skin and usually only takes one or two applications (morning and night) to get my skin back to normal. Nothing I have used relieves the itching and redness as quickly. Then I take it easy and do what you do, but until the redness and inflammation and itching go away, I can’t start to heal. This tube I cannot live without now - and I have fewer issues. If I feel a little itching or irritation, like it is coming on again, I can use this once and it goes away. I don’t use it regularly, but it is invaluable when I wake up like you did today! Thanks for sharing!
That’s the same reaction I get from chemical sunscreens. I’m in my 60s and can Only use zinc oxide. My reaction would take 2 weeks to recover with peeling and breakouts. Painful and itchy.
So far Hourglass is only available on the Hourglass website. And for some reason Dior is only at Ulta, not Sephora which is interesting. Also on the Dior website. It might be a while before I can get a review video up, but I did play with them a few days until this happened. I will say that although both have nice light to mediu coverage. Both are fairly hydrating...but Hourglass feels more like skincare. Dior is a satin finish and Hourglass is more radiant/glowy but not too glowy. I think Hourglass is better for my extra dry winter skin, but Dior might be better in the heat and humidity of summer.
Same thing happened to me back in September with the Lancome Advanced Genifique Night Cream. That's also a $100+ cream. Ugh it burned my skin so bad and ended looking like I was 100+years old lol. Took me maybe 2 or more weeks for my skin to heal.
Oh no im so sorry. This happens to me more than i wosh it did. Im currently have a big reaction to the drmtlgy barrier mask...i think it has to be shea butter because i have never been able to use anything with shea. I wanted to love this mask because my skin is so so dry this winter!
Ahhh, I had that happen to me a month ago, I'd done a little too many things to my face in a 7 day period! I personally need to be careful w/ AHA's & exfoliation in general. I'm VERY surprised how many women exfoliate multiple x per wk(?!) w/ acid toners or physically) as each time you do it THE the barrier is upset! My skin looks best when I gently exfoliate, or use an AHA every other week! 1x per wk MAX! I also use TRET 1x per wk max. The more soothing , comforting products I use, the more dewy & youthful I look)) I'm 54.
Oh no, ouch! So sorry this happened to you:( I cringed when you said no spf, but I don’t have experience with allergic reaction skin. Would the post-procedure spf that Elta MD has work? Hope your healing is quick ❤
Especially as we age. Mature skin is much thinner than 25 y/o skin. Add in all the topicals we use thst also may have “regenerative” properties, on top of manual exfoliating and it’s a lot of stress to our moisture barrier.
Maybe it's an unusual allergy? Even so, it's the last thing I expected to find in a skin care product. Lesson learned to study ingredient lists very very closely.
Your videos are really helpful, and I believe they deserve a much bigger audience! Have you noticed any specific challenges that might be affecting the channel’s growth?"
Right?! Huge bummer...although I'm on day 3 and my skin is better... but it will be a while before I can go back to my usual skin care routine. I haven't thought about my Juniper allergy in years! I never expected to find it in skin care... I'm def studying ingredient lists with an even finer tooth comb from now on.
Taking oral Benadryl is no longer recommended for folks over 65. I might still do it as a last recourse, but I'd try everything else first. Apparently, it falls in a category of drugs that may hasten or contribute (or something) to dementia in older folks.
think its the climate lol= better come back to the northern states= mine gets that red when my blood pressure goes up , maybe I better move - take care

Same here. Less is definitely more.
La roche posey cicaplast baume b5 . It's specifically formulated for damaged skin. Patients who under go radiation use this product. I have used it and it works.
That's a good one! Thank you for sharing ❤
I can confirm that it is very soothing for skin reacting to all sorts of chemicals. ❤
It is a miracle product
I wish I could add a selfie here so you could see what resveratrol did to my skin... It was scary-alarming! I want to join my vote to these ladies to say Cicaplast B5 Theraputic Cream was remarkable! And it worked FAST!
Agree! I use it a day after my microneedling or any time I feel my skin barrier is damaged
Tamara so sorry your going through this but it looks like your giving yourself tender loving care and I hope it heals for your trip have fun ❌⭕️
Chemical exfoliating 2 or 3 times a week seems like a lot.
I agree. I recommend cutting back to once a week.
I'm sorry to hear/see what happened and what you must be going through. Thank you for sharing your story as I'm sure many women can relate and need the reminder. I'm also going to MX in 5 days! Have fun Tamara - enjoy!
Thank you Amy! Mexico is my happy place this time of year. Can't wait to whale watch on the Sea of Cortex. Where in Mexico are you going?
Hi Tamara. You are very brave!! Thank you for sharing!! This will help a lot of us! I love the Prequal line!! Be gentle on yourself!!
I hope your skin will heal quickly so you can enjoy your trip ❤
Oh no Tamara! Bless your heart. I’ve been there and done that and does it not feel good at all. Thank goodness you have great recovery lotions and potions. You will have your skin Barrier fixed in no time. Even thru waking up to your skin feeling so damaged, you still have a way of including some bloopers, which always gives me a giggle. Thank you for sharing as I never do a patch test and I know I should.
Thank you so much Karla! This was def a reminder for me to study ingredients AND do a patch test. Glad you enjoy the bloopers! ❤
You turned this into a video of what helped heal your barrier as a positive side ❤ feel better!
I’m guilty of seldom doing patch tests - especially for a cream costing 100+, I would just assume it’s fantastic ! 🙃
A cautionary tale, hope you are better soon!💗
I’ve done this before, as well. I always have a tub of Aquaphor on hand. This always works for me.
Thanks for sharing! I am def going to keep repair balms on hand at all times! ❤
Aquafor is a miracle worker for me when something like this happens.
CeraVe in the large tub is fantastic too. My dermatologist recommended it and it solves everything!
45 years ago, this happened to me with Dove soap, & I've never forgotten it!
Agree
Sending you hugs & healing! Ugh, its so upsetting when this happens. This is the very reason I dont use any True Botanicals products... get well soon, Tamara!🩷💐🙏🏻🤗
I NEVER put ANYTHING on my face until I research on Paula's Beautypedia Ingredient Checker. That Chebula Cream has 7 "Worst" ingredients.
Thank you for this link! Bookmarking it as insurance 😂🏋️♂️
I'm so sorry. Thank you for sharing and warning me and giving good advice. Hope it heals quickly.
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, it means a lot! ❤
Wishing you a speedy recovery I’m sure you will recover in a few days. I love the soothe & recovery cream. That’s why I’m very hesitant to try new products because I have sensitive skin. I will get reactions it all depends. I just never know.
I wanted to jump on the True Botanicals train so bad, but it made my skin fire
Expensive & natural doesn't mean safe or better.
SO true! ❤
Oh dear Lord, have mercy 😮 the thumbnail had me wanting to pick up the phone and call you!! Sending you healing hugs my friend🥰💜🥰💜
Oh my, I almost opened this true botanicals last week. Glad I didn’t. My skin still healing as you know.
I will use organic cold pressed castor oil. I use it every night and my skin looks hydrated, love it.
When creams have such long ingredients lists it almost automatically discourages me from looking through all the ingredients but sometimes it's really necessary. I find higher end, natural, and some Korean skincare to have the longest ingredients lists.
You are absolutely right! I'm going to be extremely diligent reading labels all the way to the end from now on. ❤
I find that too. I shy away from high end and all natural if too many ingredients.
You poor soul! I am also allergic to Juniper. I look like a red Michelin Man when I come in contact with it. It is such a painful experience. Wishing you speedy healing.
Thank you for sharing and your honesty. I'm sure you are helping many people. Good luck to you!
Love Prequel! I can't use anything "natural" most natural for me is irritating.
Thank you for sharing.
That was actually very helpful because I'm allergic to lots of things and this has happened a lot of times to me. I hope you'll heal soon and you will enjoy your trip!! Kisses ❤!!!
Thank you so much. I'm so glad you found it helpful! 😘💞❤
Oh my goodness Tamara, hoping for a quick healing. ❤
Thank you Connie! Thank goodness my skin is calming down...I'll be able to wear SPF in Mexico. ❤
So sorry this happened Tamara. It looks so sore and angry. It looks like an allergic reaction to me.
Sorry about your weather -but not a bad time to be housebound as you allow your face to recover - great advice -hope you heal quickly
oh no! Prayers for speedy healing. I may need that mask! p.s. enjoy your trip!
Good luck!
I have found that Josie Marian’s Argan oil alone before bed made a world of difference when I mixed products that did not play well together.
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, it means a lot! ❤
@@TamarasTimelessBeautyYou are so
@ You are an inspiration to all your viewers with your wisdom and dedication for excellent skin care. If anyone can correct their skin barrier, it’s you.
Have a wonderful time in Mexico!
Oh Tams, how awful! When you applied the ointment your skin definitely looked calmer. Fingers crossed it improves before your trip ❤❤❤
The products I used that helped-
Avene cicalfate
Prequel gleanser
Prequel hydrating serum
Prequel ointment gel
Elta Md restore
Naturium peptide cream
Oh Tamera that looks very painful. So sorry that happened to you. ❤
Avocado oil does that to my face. Hopefully your barrier is soon restored!
Been there too… I wish your skin gets back to normal soon!
The same things happened to me with a all natural skin care. I think its the essential oils they use.
Good morning Tamara,
I use Avene Eau Thermale water when I have "burnt" my skin from products my skin doesn't like. When plain water stings, then Avene was a godsend.
Hope this helps.
Oh that's right! I used that after I had my Moxie/BBL a couple of years ago. Super soothing. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Dr Dray recommends plain vaseline.
I love the Aveeno Calm and Restore Line. I'm going to pick it up for my trip to Mexico! Thanks for the reminder! ❤
I always run ingredients through the Beautypedia ingredient checker. True Botanicals’ fragrant oils wouldn’t work on my sensitive skin.
Good idea! Even though my skin is not typically "sensitive" I usually avoid fragrant oils just because I know many people have problems with them and I don't want to recommend them. I def didn't think it through before using this product. I am going to be even more diligent with studying ingredient lists! ❤
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty❤
You're lucky you figured out what it was .I didn't and so now afraid to try anything new. I just use clinic and I'm ok now
I only use LaRoche-Posay products.
I'm very interested to hear what did this to you
Oh that looks so painful! My husband is allergic to juniper too. His arms get red and bumpy when he works in it.
Oh no….I hope your skin is back to normal in time for your trip. Thanks for the warnings😂
Thank you Crucita! My skin is a lttle better each day...fingers crossed I can at least tolerate Mineral SPF in Mexico. ❤
Hang in there ❤
Oh my gosh!!! Your skin looks like it hurts. Good luck during repair. Have fun in Mexico.
It definitely did hurt! 😅 But I'm on the mend and looking forward to Mexico.❤
Thank you for sharing! ❤
Your FIDDLE LEAF FIG TREE is lovely
Mine is sad
Please talk about how you maintain yours - light source, watering schedule, feeding schedule, etc
I live in the same climate as you
So sorry about your allergic reaction!
I sure did! Good reminder to be more diligent in studying ingredients and doing a patch test.
I love the Aveeno Calm and Restore Line. I'm going to pick it up for my trip to Mexico! Thanks for the reminder! ❤
I'm so glad you shared this, it's super helpful! I'm going to pick up some of that cream!
That’s the same reaction I get from chemical sunscreens. I’m in my 60s and can Only use zinc oxide. My reaction would take 2 weeks to recover with peeling and breakouts. Painful and itchy.
Tamara i am so sorry, but you are always beautiful ❤️
I am looking forward to you trying Lisa Eldridge new lipstick Rouge Experience. I believe you were considering Audrey.
I'm anxious for review on 2 foundations. Not finding them yet in sephoria?
I would spray the D'Alba Spray first after only rinsing my skin with water, then used La Roche Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Cream.
Oh no im so sorry. This happens to me more than i wosh it did. Im currently have a big reaction to the drmtlgy barrier mask...i think it has to be shea butter because i have never been able to use anything with shea. I wanted to love this mask because my skin is so so dry this winter!
Bummer! Shea is in SO many products! Hope we both heal quickly! ❤
Id do a mix of organic calendula oil and rosehip seed oil
Elta MD is actually a perfect choice! Thanks for the reminder! ❤
Love Elta MD!!
Oh, my goodness. I’m so sorry. It sounds like you have it under control. But yikes!!!!! How about some cortisone cream to help?
Oh no, you poor thing. 😢
Thanks for sharing
Thank you Sheena. I hope it helps someone avoid my mistakes. ❤
Exfoliating 2 to 3 times a week is alot. My dermatologist told me once a week.
Especially as we age. Mature skin is much thinner than 25 y/o skin. Add in all the topicals we use thst also may have “regenerative” properties, on top of manual exfoliating and it’s a lot of stress to our moisture barrier.
Seems like that luxe cream could consider the possibility of allergic reaction to Juniper.
Omg.i guess you’re definitely exfoliated! I’ve had a few of these bad reactions. Most notably - the morning of the day if my 40th high school reunion.
I've used homeopathic
Apps for allergic reactions as well. Red light will help too.😊
I meant Apis . Thanku on your review.
True Botanicals kille my skin! All of those essential oils!!!!!!!!
I would really be afraid of using the red light therapy. Just leave your skin alone for 48 hours…..
Looks like allergic reaction to something in the product. Might want to take benadryl also.
Taking oral Benadryl is no longer recommended for folks over 65. I might still do it as a last recourse, but I'd try everything else first. Apparently, it falls in a category of drugs that may hasten or contribute (or something) to dementia in older folks.
@@bhall9874 It can cause increased falls and confusion. I forgot she was 65.
Sorry you had an allergic reaction.
think its the climate lol= better come back to the northern states= mine gets that red when my blood pressure goes up , maybe I better move - take care
