The contrast between the brushed and polished parts is so nice. Such a good looking watch.
The design is on point! Thanks for watching!
I’ve always been interested in watches and jewelry but man I think I just found the perfect entry level watch for my first watch!
I don't think you could find a better first watch option!
I got a Seiko 5 that’s a pretty entry level and cool watch while I save up for the prx
I just unboxed mine today. I love it! Very classy piece for not much dough.
Nice! What color did you get?
That's an AP I can afford 😹
Hahahaha right?!
Hell yeahhh!!!!
What is AP ? :)
Ah okkk Audemars Piguet ? Sorry I'm new in the watch world... ^^ I really consider this PRX :) the mechanical one :)
@@KimiRai-lf3gn yep that's the one
Side by side is great. I'm loving mine, feels like a higher end watch.
You can't go wrong with either one IMO!
What is yours?
That’s a beauty man! Can’t wait to get hands on one. Keep up the great work.
Thanks man! Yeah get one ASAP! You'll be happy with the quartz or the automatic IMO.
He is busy for almost 4 minutes with unpacking. Incredible.
Now that is an homage I can get behind. Clear refference, but still unique enough. Great piece. Not for me, but a great piece.
Yep! This is how "homages" should be. Taking design cues but not complete rips offs.
Your're talking about the Oyster Quartz, not the AP right?
as above - great homage to the Rolex as the original was
Your new PRX looks absolutely amazing. That waffle-cut pattern in that handsome Tissot Blue is sublime.
I have the Tissot Gentleman Powermatic Silicum 80(2020 model)w/the Blue dial & a custom black leather strap even though I'm a bigger fan of their quality stainless bracelets and the automatic keeps excellent time.
While I use my Gentleman Powermatic as my dress watch my Tissot Supersport V8 w/Blue dial & stainless bracelet is my everyday sport watch. The Supersport is a 2019/2020 model quartz w/a larger dial and has proven itself durable & consistent as my "go to", everyday timepiece.
I am a huge fan of Tissot watches and love collecting them. They are genuine Swiss Made watches but don't shred your wallet to acquire them.
Looks like I'll have to add this PRX to the collection. Too handsome to pass up.
Great unboxing vid.
Thank you! You can't go wrong with the PRX!
Love it, will buy it for sure
Congratulations man 👍
I didn't realize the waffle dial would look so beautiful. When I saw product shots and computer-rendered images, it was blah. Seeing it now on video, ive changed my mind. 👍🏼
You can't trust those stock images and renders sometimes!
@@edouble7843 thank you!
Nice unboxing, thank you. Watch looks really nice 👍
Thanks for watching!
Hey! Amazing video. What type so you think is better for a low budget, quartz or automatic movement?
Many thanks for this review! Have the same in blue, too. Great review... my is to short 😂😂😇😇 have a great evening!
Regards from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Thanks for the explanation!
I love the prx! I have the quarz one, probably going to wear this couple of years and upgrade to powermatic if i have some extra cash. x) I like the standard one though because its obviously more precise at time keeping and i dont have to think about winding. :)
I love the quartz version as well. The dial on that one is superb too!
Not sure if you know how autos work, but you don’t have to wind them they are self winding
My PRX Powermatic80 is pretty accurate, 1 second a day +/-, more interesting is if I set it up 10 seconds ahead of my phone time, after 5 days is 4-5 seconds ahead (losing a second each day), if I set it up 15 seconds ahead, in 5 days is 20 seconds ahead (gaining second each day) 😮😅
I just ordered yesterday can’t wait for this bad boy to get here.
What color did you get?
Looks very nice, I'm considering picking up the quartz, it'd be great to review
I reviewed the quartz already if you want to check out that video! They're almost identical in terms of case dimensions.
Thanks for the video. Could you please comment or specifically address in the compare video, how the dial colours compare? I felt that the blue on the quartz was a bit too dark and from stock images the auto's blue seemed a bit lighter, so this was actually my main reason to wait for the auto version. But you initial side by side comparison rather seems to show that the colour is the same.
Side by side they seem to be the same shade of blue, the waffle pattern is the only difference (both have sunburst effect). I'll try to get an outdoors shot to show the dials in natural lighting.
Very nice both, the quartz one would be enough for me though...great review, thanks.
The quartz is a solid watch!
The quartz version has no soul
hi steave
thanks for that great review ❤️❤️🌹🌹
i like this watch too much and i have a question
my wrist size is 7 inch is that watch will looks good on my wrist or it will be looks very big?
thanks alot❤️
I have a 7.5" wrist and I think it fits perfectly! Depending on how you like to wear your watches I think you'll enjoy this watch! Thanks for watching!
I just got it today I’ve been holding off for a while but god damn it’s beautiful the blue dial goes so hard
Nice! Congrats on the purchase!
Never owned an automatic watch before, I'll be 30 soon so i will gift myself this watch! Beautiful piece.
Definitely not a bad one to go with for your first watch!
Does taking out links remove the taper of the bracelet?
Got mine like you a few months from Tissot (swatch) got a $35.00 discount, came with a small back pack and a free servicing, Probably got a working code because I bought a Longines Spirt a few months before, quick shipping but we are in the same state. Now to figure out sell or trade the quartz version. Probably should have opted for a different color. Probably will gift it.
Yeah I gave the quartz one to a friend! Thanks for watching!
With the black dial I thought, well it's ok. But that blue is so similar to the jumbo, great work 😲
Thank you! I'm really liking the blue dial so far!
Both are Beautiful watch
bought mine today and i'm happy with it.
Nice!
People keep saying it is an AP for the general public but if you look at the case shape it is really closer to the Oyster Quartz from Rolex.
I love the watch so much I bought the black and blue powermatic and the white quartz. 😄
hahahaha can't go wrong with that!
I collect Tissot. That's on my list thank you. Chronographs coming out this June. Pana, reverse Panda
I know those look great! But I'm saving up for a big purchase so I probably won't get a chronograph. But maybe the gold model is in my future...
Looks perfect on your wrist!
Thank you!
So, which do you like best: the gold PRX 40 mm quartz, the blue dial 40 mm quartz, or the Powermatic 80 crosshatched dial PRX?
Good question, I think the quartz offers the best value and dials. It's a toss up between the blue and gold. Depending on what I'm wearing that day.
The quick release spring bars have no use at least for the time being, right?
Thanks for the video. Looking forward to a full review
Currently no use but I assume they're going to add more strap options. No need to go the extra mile if you're not going to utilize it!
@@stevepapa they are coming out pretty quick I suspect.
The plastic/string struggle has become my favorite part lol
Hahaha you're probably the only one
Is their a non automatic version of this watch? I saw one on a official store where the back part is not transparent you cant see the inside of the watch like this one
Yep they make a quartz and auto. I made a video comparing the two so don't forget to check that out!
This is the best watch review ever in youtube😍😍😍
Hahaha thank you!
Guys do you think that this watch would fit good on a 6.3 inches wrist? Which is the suggested wrist size for this prx automatic?
From what I've heard, people with slimmer wrists wish it was smaller. It fits great on my wrist but may be a little bulky for yours but that decision is yours to make.
Oh, mine came with a pop-up picture-book style Tissot factory buildings and mountains. Maybe that was because I got it from the Tissot Boutique.
I think that's Tissot's new box style!
I always like the little white pillow that comes with it. LOL
Hahahaha it's a nice pillow
@@stevepapa I got the same pillow recently with my "Tissot Le Locle Stainless steel dress watch black." White face, silver body and black leather strap.
With the clasping type strap closure I can just barely get the watch on over my hand as I have a small wrists (and hand,.. a thin guy).
How much is it?
cant change the strap.
Really had my eyes on this but I have small wrist(17cm) so I’m hesitant on how it’ll fit. Really love the watch tho just wish tissot would make smaller sizes around 36-38mm, thanks for the video.
Hopefully you can find an AD to try it on and see how it fits. Thanks for watching!
Yea, 36-38mm would be perfect for smaller wrist
My wrist is small aswell, somewhere around 16-17cm.
I just got the watch and it fits really nice, it shouldn't be bigger tho
hi steve great video i was suprised by how much i actual liked this watch! what do you use to record your videos
Thank you! Yeah I'm really liking the watch so far and the equipment I use (camera, lens, mic, etc) is in the description at the bottom.
@@stevepapa cool purchase man. And thanks for getting back to me i will take a look. Have a good weekend
@@lewisreeves9843 you too!
Best images I’ve seen, thanks. Love to know the specs, accuracy wise. Thanks.
This specific watch was about +4 per day
Hey! Thanks for the awesome video. Would you buy the quartz or the automatic one? I know you will make a comparison video, but is the 300 USD difference worth it? Would it cost me 300 dollars in the future for changing batteries? Are there design differences? Thank you again!
The dials are different. The automatic has a waffle pattern and the quartz has a smooth texture. You won't go through $10 worth of batteries for the quartz over the life of the watch. Probably a new battery every 4-6 years.
@@stevepapa Would you say the 300 dollar difference is worth it for someone just delving into the world of watches? I can get either. I really like the gold one's look. There's the gold one on Amazon for 518 and will be released on 25th of August. Is this legit?
@@bobtony55 it really depends on you honestly. I bought both of them and I'm still deciding which one to keep. A lot of watch people like having automatics and others like quartz. Check out the Amazon links to both watches in my description. It's a $200 difference in price on Amazon and that comes down to slight dial differences and movements but the construction of the watches seem to be the same.
I need one of these. I’m gonna finally treat myself.
You won't be disappointed!
Great homage. Thinking about getting this one as a christmas gift for myself. I love the look. I already got 2 automatic homage watches but those are basically rip-offs. Almost exactly the same as the real thing besides the movement and the logo/name on it. I need a proper watch that has it's own style attached to it. This could be it. I knew the quartz version when it came out but I didn't knew they did a automatic version. I think this is great value for the price. Do you think this watch is a good starting point to start a collection? I don't count my others because they are not original at all.
Thank you for the great video! I just love my new passion for watches.
Definitely! It's a great casual sports watch. Not as versatile as the Tissot Gentleman but it's a more fun piece.
@@stevepapa and that’s what it should be about. Fun and enjoyment..
Man your voice reminds me so much of Swaggersouls... is it you??? Lmao awesome video, picking mine up as soon as it gets into my near by store!
🤫.... Hahahaha nope but I wish I had his subs!
Good video ! How much do you have wrist circumference ?
About 19cm
Just subbed! Great review 👍
Thank you!
@@stevepapa anytime! It's all about supporting the watch FAM 😉🍻
Always loved watches as a male we dont have that many jewelry options. Always had seiko as its good valeu for everyday watch. Was thinking of buying my first mechanical swiss watch for my 30th birthday. The prx powermatic 80 18k gold bezel, bleu dial. As my first expensive watch and also first swiss watch. What you think?
I always say "buy what _you_ want". It doesn't matter what I think or what others think about your purchase. I think the sweet spot for the PRX line is around that $500 price point. For the money (about $1800 retail), I would save up a bit more and buy the Tudor Royal in all steel.
Hey man just found your channel, great stuff! I'm thinking about buying this watch but I feel guilty spending this amount of money on myself even if it is some of the more affordable watches in the market. Is this a watch you can see holding it value? Thanks!
The PRX is the "it" watch right now. If you don't mind finding a model used or even the quartz variant, I'd say it's a good buy. I buy watches to wear and if it's something I like then I'm going to buy it.
Beautiful watch
Thank you!
Quick question, does the bracelet catch on your arm hair, because that hurts a lot
It doesn't really but I rarely have that issue!
How much the price?
I’ve noticed the timepiece has an interesting dual sunburst effect between the dial & bracelet. Very neat! 😊
the design is the best for the money!
I went to try on this timepiece....i wanted the blue. All they had was the green and black. The green ur truly impressive in the light. I'd still go with blue....but i
was surprised with the green.
I've wanted to see the green in person too!
ordered one with the blue dial but i have to wait until september wich is not totaly certain they say its out of stock Worldwide
Nice! You're going to like it!
Stunning dial
So good!
how did u get the watch already? i am looking for it for a while
It was a early release on Hodinkee Shop and I just jumped on it
Do they all come with the waffle dial? I'm looking at getting the rose gold
The Powermatic 80s have waffle dials, the quartz versions have a simple radial dial.
Hey Steve. What type of calender does the PRX powermatic 80 have? Standard, annual or perpetual?
just a standard date wheel
I need to get this watch. I NEED TO GET THIS WATCH !
It's a great one!
I need some quick advice… I recently purchased this exact same PRX Powermatic 80. This morning, I picked the watch up out of my watch box and wound it 30 times. However, I forgot to check if it was still running on its 80 hour power reserve cycle. To my surprise, it was indeed still running and on the current date and time. Will my winding it 30 times damage the watch? Please advise thank you. 🙏🏻
Overwinding on an modern automatic watch isn't a concern so no worries there!
@@stevepapa Whew 😮💨TY 🙏🏼Love the channel by the way!
@@TonySutherland thanks! I aim to please!
Nice video and review! well, can I know your wrist size?? It looks very fitted nicely on your wrist
I have a 7.5 inch wrist. Thanks for watching!
After wearing the blue dial for awhile. Would you have picked the blue over black?
I'd pick blue everytime
@@stevepapa i was leaning blue as well.
does this one have AR on the crystal?
Supposedly there is (according to the website) but in reality it doesn't look like there's much.
@Steve Papa how do both models fit on your wrist? I have an 8 1/4 inch (21cm) wrist and would like to know if the bracelet for each model will fit me. Thanks for your advice.
Hmmmmmm... I have a 7.5 inch wrist and took out a link and a half so maybe the max size is 8". It's cutting it close. They both wear the same so if you could find either version at a Tissot dealer I would try them on and see.
@@stevepapa both bracelets seem a little short on the reviews. Haven't been able to see one at an AD and my only other Tissot came on a leather strap. Thanks for the input.
@@curious5557 yeah I would hold off then just to be on the safe side. I assume with the quick release spring bars they're going to add new strap options in the future.
If you go to tissot website you can get it custom fit even for XL wrist
@@777soul56 *inserts Jeff Goldblum "well there it is" GIF*
Tissot needs to fix the endlinks. It doesn't drape down and so the lug to lug is alot longer. I was hoping tissot fix this on the automatic version so that smaller wrists can wear it comfortably. I guess i will just pick up a direnzo mondial instead.
I'm hearing that complaint a lot. It is a missed opportunity but I'd assume they're going to add different strap options because of the quick release spring bars.
Lovely watch.
Thank you!
The waffle dial is absolutely beautiful. IMHO putting a hole in it for a date window is nuts.
Yeah a no date would look nice!
Just bought one, coming tomorrow 😁😁😁
Nice! What do you think about it?!
@@stevepapa it’s awesome took out 3 links to make it fit and it feels and looks so nice on the wrist
Hey Steve, have you noticed anything unusual when hand winding? I noticed on my new PRX Auto that when you hand wind it, I will occasionally feel & hear a "click" when turning the crown. Right around every half-turn, I will get that click. I have another Powermatic 80 moment on a different style watch and it doesn't do it.
I've since sold this watch and purchased the gold version but it's possible that it's fully wound.
@@stevepapa Makes sense, I really you taking the time to reply back, thanks again!
@@gpaje no worries! Thanks for watching!
I need this beauty in my collection!
It's definitely a must!
What would you wear with this suit/casual wear etc
I definitely see this as more of a casual watch. Jeans and t-shirt.
I think there's AR on the Crystal ( Read the info on the swing tag ) just one layer probably.
It has to be the thinnest of AR coatings. I'll make sure to mention it during the actual review.
@@stevepapa Cool! Don't forget to read to tag for confirmation.
@@MrShinobi797 I just read their website and it does say it has AR coating. But I'll double check the tag too
Which size should I get if I have 6,88 inches in my wrist
That depends on how you like to wear your watches! I would try to find a model you can try on.
Nice!
That’s sick bro
Thank you! Just ordered the gold one!
Classy watch !
Thanks!
Does the watch come with extra links?
I have a 7.5" wrist and had to take out 4 links I believe.
Do the hands illuminate in the dark?
Yes but the lume isn't the best. It's OK for me tho since it's a sports watch.
Have no antireflect coating?
It does have some but nothing extraordinary
Looks fantastic. What is the size of your wrist?
Thank you! I have a 7.5 inch wrist.
Tissot‘s new collection: Over-Oak 😂
Freaking beautiful!!!!!!
I love it!
Mine arrived in smaller box. Does it mean it is fake?
Check out my gold PRX video. I think Tissot changed their boxes.
I don't dislike the waffle dial but I wish they hadn't bothered ! I'd like the auto movement with the standard sunburst dial that you get with the quartz version.
Yeah something more unique or a flat dial would have worked better IMO
date window is framed on the Auto
I like the way it looks framed too!
Nice design on that t-shirt but you should omit the text part
if the booklet isn't in the specific compartment, then someone else has opened the box before you, you should file a customer complaint. also by looking when you opened the box, the watch was like kept unorganised. so file a complaint, the box was opened by someone else before you
Thanks for the heads up!
I'm buying one, they're ace.
You won't be disappointed!
Is the bracelet good?
The bracelet is one of the best parts!
Make this Polygon shape like the Royal Oak and it’ll be perfect.
I like what Tissot did, not too much of a copy but still close!
My next watch 😊
Best watch for the price!
Just ordered mine from hodinkee for a reason and looks promising. Not a bad deal on a good deal watch. 🤔
Definitely a solid value prop!
After the video, I did order
hmmm is the watch somehow really small? I bought this watch since it was discounted and seemed nice but with all links on its damn tight. I dont feel like I have a monster size wrist but this watch will just kill my wrist. Absolutely no extra links on the case and cannot find any extra links from anywhere. Would need like 1-2 extra links to make it wearable.
I had to take out a couple of links on mine and I have a 7.5" wrist. Maybe contact Tissot for a couple of extra links.
@@stevepapa Yeah already found some extra links, still the first watch that has ever been too small for me. 8.6" wrist.
