I would recommend filling the bottom of the freezer with water bottles. Its thermo mass, water storage and turns it into ice box during a power outage. Cover with cardboard makes food rotation easier.

Ive got one of those freezers full of nothing but meat. I keep my frozen veggies and bread in the top freezer of my refrigerator. I used milk jugs at the bottom filled 3/4 the way with water till I finished filling it. Ziplock those croissants and grab a foodsaver vaccume sealer to save space and also write with a magic marker the date you put in the freezer to help with rotation. Good start bro.👍

You should invest in a food saver to reseal the open bags.
I just picked up a magic chef 7.0 and I can’t wait to start putting stuff into it , most refrigerator freezer’s are small so when they have sales on meat’s and you don’t have a freezer you luck out ,plus that’s less visit’s to the supermarket .
Thats looking awesome. Good for you. Really Consider a vacuum sealer. You would gain more room by using it on your ground beef, chops, steaks, chicken breasts, etc over just ziplock.
I have never owned a vacuum sealer because of the cost of the bags but I suppose the cost savings from ruined freezer burned foods without the bags would pay for them

I used a tape measure using my desk as a template but the measurements shown I think are outside and not inside. Agree the inside measurements would be nice to know

I have two 7cuft Arctic kings and love them. Can’t afford the big 14cuft freezers at about $800-$900.
Yes you can. $599 today for a home depo 15' chest Frigidaire. Or Walmart, [2] 7cf Frigidaire's at $198 each -$400 bucks for USA metal or at least Mexican. Arctic crap is all Chinese imports.
@@RRaucina I guess you didn’t read what I said. 14cuft freezers were 800-900 (1150 with tax and warranty) back then and there was a 2-3 week wait to get them to boot. I ended up getting 3 of the 7cuft freezers w/ 2 year warranties for about $780. They work great and I put wifi temp sensors in them that will send a text if the go above my set temp of -4F. I can monitor temp on my phone as well. They stay between -14f to -8f.

I used re-purposed juicy juice bottles.
I had to switch to an upright freezer because my wife had trouble reaching the the bottom. She short.

I had a medium sized chest type - Finally got rid of it. Took up too much space and definitely a challenge to dig for things in the bottom
Chest freezers don’t allow cold air to escape as fast because all of the cold sets at the bottom. You open the door of a vertical freezer and it all comes pouring out. So there’s pros and cons of each

@@montanaplease yes sir! I just bought the Magic Chef 7.0 cubic ft one today which was the same price. Home Depot appliance guy said they’re pretty much the same freezer. Our garage fridge freezer and kitchen fridge freezer are both packed, can’t wait to fill this sucker up.

@@brokenhero6828 UPDATE: I bought this last Sunday. Let it sit upright for 4 hours after I got it home since that’s what the manual said after it was transported layed down, Plugged it in at 9pm, light kicked on and I heard the compressor come on. The next morning I check on it and it’s warm inside! Turned the setting to 7 and it kicked on again. Went to work and came home at the end of the day and it was warm again! I turned the temp dial back and forth from 0-7 and it wouldn’t even kick on anhmore. Back to Home Depot it went for a full refund on Tuesday. If you look at the 1 star reviews on Home Depot’s site for this item the majority of them are from June, July and the early part of this year. Looks like this year’s batch of freezers are experiencing a lot of problems. 🤷🏻♂️

It would’ve been kind of funny to do a parity video office. Basically the bottom of the freezer would have a false floor with somebody that we just keep handing you stuff to pull out of the freezer bottom.
