    Just bought the same. Same price but none in the Home Depot. I ordered it online and they delivered it ($35) the next day. That delivery charge was ridiculous we live a couple of blocks for HD. No choice. Thanks for sharing. Fill that freezer, hard times are coming.

    Bought one of these in August 2020 and it is already failing and not completely freezing. Magic Chef has a 5 year warranty on the compressor, but I will have to get a tech out here to verify that it is the compressor and pay for that myself. While it was working it was great, now I have a headache on my hands and I lost a bunch of frozen items that wouldn't fit into my regular freezer.
    Take this for what you will, hopefully no one else is dealing with this issue. I have some diagnostics to run to check the fans and coils, maybe that'll fix it, but as of now it's now a huge paper weight.
    Just FYI, I paid $190 for it in 2020. Fascinating to see the price increase in 2021.

      I'm sorry to hear about your freezer. No problems with mine yet. I even moved it from my shop to my house, still working like it should. But, my 5 year (not so old) G.E. washer stopped working, so I had to hire a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. It needs a new motherboard. Well...it cost me $110 for his vist, and the motherboard would cost from $175 to $ 225. I elected to buy a new washer (Labor Day) sale for $648. I figured I'll stop throwing good money on a 5 year old washer. Who knows what will break on it next. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that nothing is made like it used to be. Thanks for your comment. Good Luck!

      @@gottaloverving6318 Similar story with me. I got laid off back in June and my garage door stopped working, my dryer died and now my freezer, hahaha! My house is conspiring against me. Hopefully that new washer will be around for a decade or so. Used to be washers and dryers didn't have motherboards....

      Awesome! We haven't had any trouble with ours, and it's been approximately 3 years since we purchased it. We moved the freezer out of my shop to a house we bought. Then, we sold that house and moved it for the 3rd time. Still working great 👍 Thanks for commenting!

    I've read some info about these. One comment from a appliance repair man said these manufacturers are putting smaller compressors (hardware) in them.... shrink-flation?. And they end up being over worked and break. If that's true or not IDK. How sturdy is the top? Because this would have things put on it. They are on sale at home depot now 20 bucks off. Thanks for the video!

    I'm concerned about the surface it sits on... I moved it today and noticed the bottom gets warm... should I be concerned what surface I put it on? I have it on a water proofed platform that I made because, I didn't think of this before I bought it... the drain is so close to the floor...how can you drain that? So, I made a 2.5 inch platform for it to sit on and used a water proofing paint on that... should I be concerned about fumes or whatever? I like the freezer so far... thanks for the video.

    • @gottaloverving6318
      @gottaloverving6318  23 дні тому

      @galimirnund6543 No need to be concerned about the waterproof paint the freezer sits on. A lot of people paint their garage floors with a similar type of waterproof paint and put a refrigerator and / or freezer on it. Including my current situation. I have the freezer and a refrigerator in my garage. Also, people will put extra appliances on a covered wood porch that the floor has paint on it. As far as the drain is concerned, I never had to drain it until I was getting ready to move it to our new house. We removed all the frozen items and transported them in a couple of big coolers. I left the lid open for a while, and once the ice was melted, which only took a couple of hours because it was in a very warm environment. I had one of those really cheap green water hoses, and I cut it to a shorter length. The hose flexed enough so the water will drain. But, I like the way you solved the problem with a 2.5" platform..

    I just accepted delivery of this model. It came a little banged up with dents in several locations ( poor packaging and shipping). I noticed the green light doesn't stay on and am concerned the freezer may be defective. It is receiving power from the outlet it is plugged into; I even tried other outlets. The green light always goes out after a while and I don't hear the compressor running. If I unplug it, wait several minutes, then plug it in, the light comes on but eventually goes out again and again. Does the green light on your freezer stay on as long at the freezer is receiving power?

    • @gottaloverving6318
      @gottaloverving6318  Рік тому +4

      That's normal. Once the inside temperature reaches its set point, the compressor shuts off, and so does the green light. There is nothing wrong with the operations of the freezer.

      @@gottaloverving6318 Thanks for the quick response. I was getting worried about having to drive 95 miles ( round trip ) to return it to the nearest Home Depot. After delivery, I called them to gripe about the dents, and they gave me a $30 credit. I can live with the dents, but the green light issue concerned me. Thanks again for the help. 🙂

    Hi, thanks for the review. Would you be so kind as to measure the inside dimensions of the freezer (width and depth?) I am trying to see if I can fit a 16x16 inch item in there but I can't see any internal dimensions on the website, product manual etc and Home Depot had no floor models where I could look.

    • @gottaloverving6318
      @gottaloverving6318  Рік тому

      Just got to my shop to measure inside the deep freezer. Unfortunately it's only 15 1/2" (front to back). 21 " left side of freezer to the wire divider. 7" from wire divider to the right side. And 27" deep. Hope this was helpful.

    My hubby just bought me this freezer. I noticed the green light isn’t on now. But the lid light is on when opened. I can barely hear the motor running now. We just bought it 4 days or so ago. Should green light stay on?

    • @gottaloverving6318
      @gottaloverving6318  2 роки тому +2

      The light only comes on when the compressor is running. It turns off once the temperature is reached. I would recommend a freezer thermostat to keep in the deep freezer. Ideal temperature is around 0 degrees. Thanks for asking!

      Opps! I should have said 2 people. My wife and I have moved it twice. Empty of course. I use a small piano dolly as much as possible. I would pickup the heavier side of the freezer where the compressor motor is located and my wife would get the lighter side. It's really not heavy, but just bulky. I'm not sure if Home Depot will offer free delivery and set-up on a lower price appliance like this freezer. It never hurts to ask. Typically they will place a delivered appliance anywhere you want it. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking!

    What setting should I put it on if I’m just holding meat?

    • @gottaloverving6318
      @gottaloverving6318  2 роки тому +1

      I apologize for the delayed response to your question. The freezer is at my shop and I was home
      I'm now at my shop and the temperature dial is set on 4-1/2. This setting keeps it between 7 to 10 degrees. As you can see on my video I keep a variety of frozen food in mine. Meat, vegetables and Ice cream.
      Technically you should keep freezer temperature on "0" degrees. Try the #5 setting, and check what's the temperature. I highly recommend you getting a inexpensive temperature gage to keep in it.
      I hope this helps! Thanks for commenting!

    • @gottaloverving6318
      @gottaloverving6318  2 роки тому +1

      I've never tried. The lowest setting will probably just be around freezing 32° degrees Fahrenheit.
      You technically need a refrigerator thermostat. There are UA-cam videos where they demonstrate how to transform a freezer into a refrigerator. Seems pretty cheap (Roughly $30 dollars) and fairly simple. If a freezer is no longer needed, but you could use more refrigerator space, definitely a way to go.
      Thanks for asking the question. Good Luck!
