Fun fact: The guy who played Jason (Ken Kirzinger) was also the guy who got thrown threw the mirror in the diner by Jason (Kane Hodder) in Jason Takes Manhattan.
Ken Kirzinger also played the mutant Dad in Wrong Turn 2. As I recall, the entire mutant family - Mom, Dad, Son and Sis - in WT2 were all stuntpeople, and they all did their own stunts. Something about giving stuntpeople some respectable face time in a movie just feels so right to me. :)

I’m here on Halloween to pay homage to the legend himself “Robert Englund.” It’s been almost 4 decades since the first Freddy movie. I’m getting chills just thinking about.😱
There’s a scene Freddy impales Jason on a load of iron rods. Jason is still alive and Freddy mutters “Oh, give me a break.” It’s delivered with such excellent timing, it always tickles me. There’s something wonderfully absurd about a dream demon getting frustrated that he can’t kill an unkillable maniac.
I remember watching this in theathers on the opening weekend and man, the whole audience went crazy when Freddy and Jason fight at the end, just like the battle in Endgame Shame that never got a sequel
Growing up watching the two different slasher films, one in the dream world and the other in reality come together in 1 real movie… truly wonderful and amazing.
Whenever I think of Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, or Jason Voorhees, I think of them together. They have the same terror about them. Unrelenting power and terror, and they fit into their roles better than anyone else ever could.
I got a dancing with the stars AD before this video and didn’t know it was an ad so I thought Jason and Freddy were going to be on dancing with the stars together for a second 😂
Why didn't Kane Hodder reprised the role of Jason then? Because I am sure the producer and director would have tried getting him. Yet Ken Kirzinger still played as Jason.
Kane Hodder was decent, he is more recognized cause he played Jason in four of the films but to be fair they were the 4 shittiest films. Although I personally loved Jason X, not many did. He's a great stunt man and I love his Jason mannerisms but pretending he was the only good Jason is dumb. Ted White in the 4th Friday was easily the scariest to me as a kid. He deserves a bunch of credit, he feels more iconic as Jason than Kane ever did.
I mean, Ken was Kane’s stunt double for a few of the Friday films, so he more or less so seen it as being an honor to take the role from a man of Kane’s caliber.
6:40 Robert Englund can make millions of people wish death upon his character but his co stars think he makes it hard to work with him because he's so nice all the time. That truly warmed my heart 😂👏
Yeah I met Robert and he was real nice when we got a picture he actually scared me by putting his Freddy glove on my head I agree with the actors if I was gonna die anyway I want I would want Freddy to kill me so my death would be interesting
This movie is seriously underrated. I dont know why some people hated it, it was amazing. It's even better watching it after you marathoning the Nightmare on Elm Street series
@@5Lion5ofGod7 that’s pretty tall vs the average (though it depends on where you are in the word). Still, I’m 5’1” and I’d be craning my neck regardless
While Jason and Michael myers anyone can play them it's not the same with Chucky and Freddy these two the actors gave these scary legends character and gave them a unique voice that we all know and love. No one can replace Freddy and Chucky even if they tried all the Hollywood tricks. I liked the new version of nightmare on elmes Street but it doesn't feel right without Robert and the new child's play ain't good without Brad chuckys laugh is iconic.
@@Sadik90tom his voice was good I agree the movie was good as another movie but not child's play but for nightmare on elmes Street the updated version nope his face was way off and the voice in the middle
This movie is awesome. Probably the best "vs" crossover movie ever. Not only it creates a great confrontation but it pays homage to the origins of both franchises and also keeping continuity with the point where each series was at the time. Jason dreams being drowned as a kid, which was his origin in Friday the 13th part 1-2, and then he's resurrected by Freddy from Hell, which is where he ended up in Part 9. On the other hand Freddy is introduced with the best flashback in his entire series, but he's powerless because of people having forgotten him, which ties to the plot of most recent Nightmare movies.
I remember going to see this movie at the movie theatre when I was a teen. When I tell you that the theatre was JAM PACKED!! I really mean it! People were literally sitting on the floor! I’ve never seen a theatre that packed ever again since that day! It was such an amazing experience! The fight scenes were epic cause everyone at the theatre was going nuts! Good times!
In the 80's as a young child, I felt so sorry for Jason. I sympathized with him on such a real level. NOT his murdering. But because those who should have been able to save him from drowning were nowhere around when he truly needed help. I cried so hard the first time we were shown him drowning. It was in a way like I was watching my brother and could not get him any help. I remember a slight feeling of "hell yea!" when Jason killed the first adult who SHOULD have been looking out for the kids. But when he didn't stop, I was begging him through the tv PLEASE STOP, you got them. But he never stopped. I remember the feeling to this day. I had to say goodbye to him because I could not condone his murders beyond that first guilty adult. It completely broke my heart to have to "let him go". Wow. 35 years later and I am once again shedding tears over a loss I truly felt as a child. It's a fictional character, but I need this right now so bare with me please. I was HIGHLY invested in the character back then. I am so sorry Jason! I wanted to save you. I really did! But you got the ones who wronged you. Please. Please stop. Freddy is the one who hurts children. You will find peace by focusing on him until you are free from your purgatory so to speak. Sorry everyone. I know how all of that sounds. I can not explain why I felt so bad for him as a child, nor can I explain why I was just dragged down memory lane so viciously. I do not support murder, nor do I sympathize with serial killers. It was something about the child who became the entity we all know today.
It's a compliment to the film's creators to resonate so strongly with a character like that. I on the other hand, really felt for not Freddy, but the kids in Springwood that had to live with neglectful adults in severe denial and hiding from the truth. Adults that, instead of finding an answer, simply locked away anyone who came into contact with Freddy like he was some kind of disease. I felt just as strongly about that. Both movie series had this undercurrent of neglectful people being the catalyst that start the troubled character down the path of becoming a villain, and I think everyone can relate to that.
@@themisfitowl2595 That was the hint both movies series were trying to express for sure. Bad parenting from unqualified parents combined with kids believing they can behave any way they choose without repercussion is a danger to civilized society. The writers of Friday the 13th knew it back in the 80's. Unfortunately, all that anyone really paid attention to was the machete. lol As far as Freddy, I too remember complete fear for the kids. I seen children being punished for the crimes their parents' committed while the parents did nothing of value to protect their kids. I never felt bad for Jason until his drowning scene. Suddenly, it all made sense. I understood why he wanted the guilty ones dead even though I strongly felt he shouldn't have killed anyone. I figured he was doing VERY WELL at scaring people long before he took their life and that he should have stuck with scaring them. Until he did not stop killing. He was killing kids who played no role in that day. It was clear heart breaking I felt at that point. I remember thinking "Now no one can help you because of what you are doing". It was a real loss for me at such a young age. Almost like I had to give up on a brother and watch his fate play out. I even remember thinking that maybe if someone merely talked to him like a friend, maybe he would stop killing. Not realizing that he would simply kill the dude without much hesitation outside of that now infamous stare. lol Man, that memory hit me hard 9 months ago. lol
I love this movie. I’ve watched it last Spring. The aesthetics of this movie is spooky, scary, eerie, and suspenseful. I’m a huge fan of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. It was the first horror movie I’ve ever wanted to watch since I was 15 years old . All the cast and crew members were amazing, including the design of each character and setting was realistic. I feel so thrilled with the lighting change to create the tone and mood of each scene and I really like the fake blood they use in the movie. The actors who played each character did a flawless job. They took their character roles really serious. Of course, my favorite characters are Freddy and Jason, I like how Jason is taller than Freddy and how they did their stunts, which were realistic but no one got hurt. The most hilarious part was when Ken Kirzinger was in his Jason costume, talking in the interview next to Robert Englund as Freddy. It was if Jason was able to talk 😂. In conclusion, this film was really amazing with amazing aesthetics and very professional with such hard workers.
@@dcta51 I know right?? I loved the red lighting and color correction in Jason’s nightmare. Imagine, a hockey masked serial killer having nightmares from Freddy Krueger.

Edit: Ok I am aware of Alien vs Predator, Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys, The Ring vs The Grudge but I feel none of those are in the same quality as Freddy vs Jason. I seen them and wanted to shoot myself because of the low budget effects.
????? Dracula vs Frankenstein?? Frankenstein meets the wolf man?
@@leorodriguez8941 yea those are in the early 1900s which no one cares or has seen. Im talking about popular horror icons from the 70s-00s. We will never see things like Chucky vs Leprechaun or Leatherface vs Ash
That is once in a life time.
I would want Chucky vs leprechaun or Michael Myers vs Texas chainsaw
They are very fun for sure. I wish they did make slasher movie spin-offs like this. It's very comic-bookish, but I don't mind that at all. It's fun as hell.
We were blessed to grow up with amazing movies like these. They don't make them like this anymors.
Just wish it wasn't a comedy, wanted it a horror like the originals. Also no Kane hodder
I totally agree
I don't want to sound like a boomer but I agree that most of the remakes of the classic horror movies (except IT)are pretty crappy.
Facts
Like kindergarten cop?
I remember seeing this in the theater and when they finally stood face to face in the real world, we went absolutely bananas! 😂😂
Right. The whole theater went wild
Wish I was there
5:01 Jason speaks.
He broke his moral code.
Seeing two horror actors outside of character is legendary, just like their in character counterparts.
Fun fact: This was Robert England's last role as Freddy
Fredddy vs. Jason is a guilty pleasure of mine
Freddy*
I would just watch hours and hours of Krueger commentating on other horror movie killers. Englund's an improv king XD
Am I the only one that thinks the demonic looking Freddy makeup they did near the end of this movie was absolutely terrifying? I wish we could have seen more of that in some of the other films! It was really cool and freaky.
The movie was well done and came out good, because it had a good script and good actors and the studio was all in on funding.
Man Monica Keena use to be so beautiful.

@@DEXDXVN Yeah the video kept popping in my recommendations. I couldn't help but "simp" over Jason & Freddie in the thumbnail LoL
20 years ago, still it’s awesome!
I’m here on Halloween to pay homage to the legend himself “Robert Englund.” It’s been almost 4 decades since the first Freddy movie. I’m getting chills just thinking about.😱
I reeeeeally wish Kane Hodder would have been allowed to play Jason.
There’s a scene Freddy impales Jason on a load of iron rods. Jason is still alive and Freddy mutters “Oh, give me a break.”
It’s delivered with such excellent timing, it always tickles me. There’s something wonderfully absurd about a dream demon getting frustrated that he can’t kill an unkillable maniac.
I agree, Freddy has some great one liners! You can't help but laugh😂
I remember watching this in theathers on the opening weekend and man, the whole audience went crazy when Freddy and Jason fight at the end, just like the battle in Endgame
Shame that never got a sequel
The ending with Pinhead would have been so badass
Growing up watching the two different slasher films, one in the dream world and the other in reality come together in 1 real movie… truly wonderful and amazing.
Whenever I think of Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, or Jason Voorhees, I think of them together. They have the same terror about them. Unrelenting power and terror, and they fit into their roles better than anyone else ever could.
Exactly!,No one can play Freddy like Robert Englund (No One) I've been saying that for so long 😊👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I got a dancing with the stars AD before this video and didn’t know it was an ad so I thought Jason and Freddy were going to be on dancing with the stars together for a second 😂
Ken Kirzinger did a good job playing Jason. Kane Hodder is Jason and should've played the part.
@A H ken kzinger was that one big bartender who got thrown in the mirror in jason takes manhatten
Kane is way the fuck over rated as Jason.
Why didn't Kane Hodder reprised the role of Jason then? Because I am sure the producer and director would have tried getting him. Yet Ken Kirzinger still played as Jason.
@@5Lion5ofGod7 no they didn't, they said this actor has 'more emotion' in his eyes so they didn't even ask Kane hodder which is fucked up.
@@MrParkerman6 agreed
This was a fun one. Loved Ronny’s work here.
Hearing Jason talk he seems like a nice and sophisticated guy
Thank you so much for uploading this because I haven't see this I love the movie going to watch it again tonight
Kane Hodder will always be Jason Voorhees but that Ken was ok
Wish kane was in this movie
Kane Hodder was decent, he is more recognized cause he played Jason in four of the films but to be fair they were the 4 shittiest films. Although I personally loved Jason X, not many did. He's a great stunt man and I love his Jason mannerisms but pretending he was the only good Jason is dumb. Ted White in the 4th Friday was easily the scariest to me as a kid. He deserves a bunch of credit, he feels more iconic as Jason than Kane ever did.
@@MerokoGaming finally somebody says it.
CJ Graham from Jason Lives was clearly the best. Kane Hodder is good too, but only because he was Jason for 4 films.
Yeah I met Robert and he was real nice when we got a picture he actually scared me by putting his Freddy glove on my head
I agree with the actors if I was gonna die anyway I want I would want Freddy to kill me so my death would be interesting
This movie is seriously underrated. I dont know why some people hated it, it was amazing. It's even better watching it after you marathoning the Nightmare on Elm Street series
For some of you guys who didn't know , Freddy Kruger's stunt double was Rey Mysterio from the wwe
Wow I never knew
so cool. and i believe it. rey is always jumping! just watch his entrance
I am both a horror and wrestling fan.
No one, I repeat, NO ONE can slay it right as Freddy like Robert Englund does. He is and will always be the one and only Freddy Krueger.
best thing that I heard from a behind the scenes with the directors when they were filming was "MORE BLOOD! WE NEED MORE BLOOD"
This movie was amazing, now I wanna watch it again!
this movie will forever hold a place in heart....i was 10 in 2003 and still cherish the time, place and general happiest atmosphere in my life.
This forever going classic. Nothing has ever beat them.
Fun fact: Jason and Freddy have non-English surnames. Jason is Dutch and Freddy is German.
@hai minh LOL.
@hai minh My mother's part Dutch. But I am not very tall. About 6'1 and I thought I was tall until I meet other taller guys.
@@5Lion5ofGod7 that’s pretty tall vs the average (though it depends on where you are in the word). Still, I’m 5’1” and I’d be craning my neck regardless
@@5Lion5ofGod7 5'8 and 5'9 is average height you are tall
Part 2 is way over due been waiting almost 20 years for it.
Mark Hamill voicing him was the only good part of that movie haha
@@Sadik90tom his voice was good I agree the movie was good as another movie but not child's play but for nightmare on elmes Street the updated version nope his face was way off and the voice in the middle
@@SUZUKI1777 nightmare remake was so bad and only 3 kills this is so small for a slasher film
@@Sadik90tom I agree both the childs play and elmes Street remakes should've used different titles and a new series for each new villains.

5:02-5:18 When they’re not fighting, they’re best friends in secrecy 😅
i could have sworn i remember watching this little short on tv when it came out! thought it was so cool as a kid! still have some love for this movie
I get this feeling
Freddy: oi Jason wanna grab a drink and then go to that starz on the set thing
Jason: sure why not
Jason is absolutely MASSIVE his actor ken is 6’5
I remember going to see this movie at the movie theatre when I was a teen. When I tell you that the theatre was JAM PACKED!! I really mean it! People were literally sitting on the floor! I’ve never seen a theatre that packed ever again since that day! It was such an amazing experience! The fight scenes were epic cause everyone at the theatre was going nuts! Good times!
This is one of the best horror movies, I really wish that they can continue the franchise with Jason and Freddy
@@themisfitowl2595
That was the hint both movies series were trying to express for sure.
Bad parenting from unqualified parents combined with kids believing they can behave any way they choose without repercussion is a danger to civilized society.
The writers of Friday the 13th knew it back in the 80's.
Unfortunately, all that anyone really paid attention to was the machete. lol
As far as Freddy, I too remember complete fear for the kids.
Not realizing that he would simply kill the dude without much hesitation outside of that now infamous stare. lol
Man, that memory hit me hard 9 months ago. lol
The thumbnail made me imagine they were at rehab or something

Despite the flaws of the movie it’s still one of the best moments in horror history
I watch this every Halloween season
Just watched it and yea i agree, the lighting is very good.
@@dcta51 I know right?? I loved the red lighting and color correction in Jason’s nightmare. Imagine, a hockey masked serial killer having nightmares from Freddy Krueger.
I just find it funny how Jason Ritter was in this and later went to play Dipper in Gravity Falls who also goes up against a dream demon Bill Cipher he def had some experience from Freddy😭
Also the episode Dreamscaperers is heavily inspired by Dream Warriors the characters in the show gets powers in the mindscape like in the movie and even added an extra syllable in the title to have the same amount of syllables as Dream Warriors
So the two things that classify this program as MA is literally the genre of the film and "some violence".
i absolutely LOVED this movie. the face off in the cabins gives me goosebumps every time i watch it.
12:07 it's weird to see both actors in full makeup for the interview
Ken's stoned?
The movies his cool and scary. Everyone did good job in the movie and making the movie to.
Wouldn't say its scary
