OMG!! I met these people with Wally on the waterfront in Newburyport, MA!! They are phenomenal people and not only rescued Wally, but set up a rescue for other dogs found near the Wall of China. I guess dogs are dumped there. Their whole family is involved. Lovely, lovely people. Thanks for your service to animals.

@@jackjax7921 Wally is a Tibetan Mastiff, so huge, his fur is just remarkable looking up close, richly textured with different hues of red. Apparently, he was skin and bones when they found him.

How wonderful are they? Adopting Wally, flying him home, quarantine fees, etc. must've cost a LOT, but they did it! So adorable to see baby Annika crawl all over him!!! 🥰

Wally looks like a Tibetan Mastiff, one of the most expensive dog breeds in the world. How could anyone leave him in a cage with no food or water? Thank you two wonderful people for having such kind hearts that you brought Wally back to live with you. He a GORGEOUS dog, and that little girl and Wally were meant to be together. What a wonderful, happy family you have! Your daughter is beautiful, as is Wally, take plenty of photos of the two of them, and maybe even a portrait! I loved the video!

Tibetan mastiffs aren't expensive. Here in Denmark you can get a well bred one for 25.000 DKK ($4000). The expensive tibetan mastiffs that are giant and very fluffy aren't actually true to the breed standard - they have been inbred to get the red-ish colours to look like a lion.
Show tibetan mastiffs are expensive - but TRUE tibetan mastiffs are not.

Wally is a beautiful dog; the very definition of a gentle giant. He's lucky to have been rescued by these good people, and they're lucky to have him to watch over their little sprout.
He just looks and acts like he's pure love and kindness.i would love to give him a hug. He's like a small bear but gentle

I'm so grateful they saved Wally! Some people pay thousands and travel the country to buy a special purebred, while some people use their resources to save an animal. I just worry about what poor dog they stuck in the cage to replace Wally.
Sadly I was thinking the same thing. And it's crazy how is the dog in a cage going to be a watch dog he can't get to anybody to run them off or to protect whatever it is he's supposed to be garden. It's just horrible to think of poor animal stuck in a cage with no food no water no warmth.
I’m so happy they saved him from life in a cage with no water and super under weight ! Such very kind people and now he has a baby sister to take care of too! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

I think it's because dogs have been domesticated by humans for so long
Cats and dogs are both social animals that live in groups and will even help rear each others young, they like to fulfill that social contract likely an added and needed benefit when man first domesticated them, can’t have something around that wants to attack your offspring.

It's a pack thing .. I've seen it so many times. We had only big (massive) dogs in my extended family and all changed immediately when me or my cousins were introduced as infants. They were our nanny dogs. My first words were to one, asking him to come to me!!

He is a Tibetan Mastiff, very Loyal, they can be gentle Giants with the people they Love but very effective protectors if necessary! Wally seems to be a good SOUL. Such a sweet story about rescuing a dog that was living in appalling conditions and is now living his best life, the life all dogs deserve, one of love, shelter, freedom, human interaction etc. Seeing Wally run around in the snow, dipping his head in and then pulling it out, he looked like a Lion. His fur/mane is incredible. I would hate to have to brush it every day and vacuum up all the hair. They’re lucky he is gentle with their adorable daughter, given the start to life that he had. It just goes to show that with love, a life can be reclaimed at any stage in life. I hope Wally lives a long healthy loving life with his family, always protecting his little sister and if they have any other children in the future, that he protects them too

What a beautiful dog, I love how he looks like a lion!!💗🐶 I wash, groom, and board dogs and I noticed the most sweetest and caring dogs are the rescued. Even if there spoiled rotten now it's like they know that life can be hard. Recuses are my favorite to wash and groom, it's beautiful seeing there personalities come out!!💗

They're wonderful, soulful animals and we should all try to give them the respect and care they deserve. What a beautiful dog! He's practically a blanket and a pillow. He absolutely huggable.
I have a portable pillow that rolls up so it resembles a dalmatian and even has a stuffed head on the end. Wally kinda reminds me of that pillow with his floofy fur!😁

I just watched him being groomed on Girl With the Dogs. He's a gorgeous soul --so patient. So glad he was rescued from life in a cage -- how horrible.
