It's BECAUSE irresponsible People that think it's ok not to neuter or spay the animals... ...and they breed like rabbits... 😱 Then the dog/cats get "thrown" away because these People get bored taking care of a pet! 😭
it's a necesarily evil so long as people keep having pets. I know dog lovers on the internet are all perfect and they will say i'm wrong and that they, and each of their friends adopted 87.648 homeless dogs in a year, but in reality ALMOST all dogs that you see homeless, had a home before.....should we teach people? of course. but let's be real for a sec. Nobody will ever win against the "puppy eyes". dogs are so inbred nowdays to be as cute as posible that you will and always will have people adopting then ditching them once they realize how much they eat/bark/poop/bread etc. Pets should be way less common, only for those willing to neuter and have a chip on them. But "oh no that's not natural" people will just let the doggos breed like bunnies, or straight up abandon them once they grow, or they get tired of having to walk them and pick up their poop three times a day lol. i see it as the merciful way to have less dogs around period. Rather have that than 9 generations of homeless doggos. specially on poor areas were they grow agressive and end up hurting people on the street (i know, some people here who have the privilege to say "oh a dog would never harm unless provoled", they have never had the experience of crossing paths with a pak of angry strays. it happens a lot in more vulnerable areas of the world)
🙏Thank you.🙏 All the local shelters around here are no kill, thank goodness. And for anyone who may be considering adopting a pittie breed, my Molly, an AmStaff, who I adopted last September, is the most loving, cuddly dog I've ever known. She was obviously overbred, found as a stray in February, not yet 2. So many are in need. Please consider saving the life of a shelter dog of any breed. You'll be rewarded with loads of love every day.
I once rescued an Old Boston Bulldogge on a Sunday who was scheduled to be euthanized on the next day. Thankfully the city dogcatcher came in on a Sunday and opened the doors to let me adopt him for $5. I had him over 10 years and he was a great dog.
@@moonshine2603 I think the $5 was only to make it a more legal transaction for the city pound to transfer ownership. They had every cage in the kennel filled with a dog (About 30 of them) and they just wanted to find a home whenever possible, although I suspect many get euthanized.
In Dec on 2022 I rescued a Lab mix who was one week from delivering her litter two days before she was due to euthanized. We not only found homes for all eight puppies but an amazing family for her, living in the country in Weed, CA where she is unbelievably happy. I still keep in touch with most of the (then) puppies families. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
ugh needed to see this today. she is SO CUTE. saved a 1.5 yr, 67lb pittie boy who looks just like this momma on Sat who was tied out abandoned on Wed. He was headed to a kill shelter that was at capacity, so I took him home and had to keep him separated from my two rescues until I found two fosters who could share him (one travels for work). I cried when they agreed to help me. He's such a good boy with their kids and other dogs, and I just couldn't let him be killed. Next step is to get him a forever home!
When we got my dog the shelter we got her from had just gotten her from a different shelter so they didn't know much about her. They did say that it looks like she was heavily bred. She was also only 1-2 years old at the time. We made sure she knew that she was no longer a mama and that she got the chance to be a baby. She's our spoiled little girl now who loves to cuddle and loves treats. She's such a sweet dog that we decided to name her Joy and we always like to say that she is a joy to have around.
Dogs absolutely know when a woman's pregnant. They are very protective and affectionate around her. They have much better common sense and compassion than many humans ❤😂
@@Denozo88 I mean, they would prioritize euthanizing a pregnant dog. Because if they didn't they'd be even more overcapacity with a lot of puppies that need socializing and potentially around the clock medical care. It's awful, but what else are they supposed to do? They don't have the food to feed them, or the space to house them. Shelters are struggling.
I get your frustration....i detes the thought of any animal being euth for a lack of a home....but sooo many shelters have no choice!! HUMANS are the problem!! Backyard breeding, not neutering/spaying, throwing them away like an old piece of furniture, not being allowed to rent & keep your pet, abuse, neglect, flat out torturing of animals, etc, etc, etc. ALL a human caused problem! The system to help non-human species is soooo broken! I would rather my tax dollars go to help them then a human anyday.....
thank you for rescuing sweet Stormi and her adorable babies!! she did an amazing job taking care of them. I am so glad that all of them got adopted to loving forever families!!
This is so sweet and reminded me of a similar journey with our pittie Mama. Some monster dumped her the day of or a few days before Thanksgiving. Thank you so much for these sweet lives. Some people just don't care.
Mama Stormi is definitely the prettiest girl. ❤ Poor baby looked so miserable when she was pregnant. But I don’t blame her, eight is more than enough. How cool that she found her furever home before her puppies, it’s usually the other way around.
What a beautiful mamma dog she is! She's adorable!!!! Thank you to ones like Lisa who take these beautiful fur babies in!!! Stormi's babies are absolutely beautiful!!! She's a wonderful mom to her pups! She was probably grateful for the baby sitters! LOL!
i mean....you are assuming they thought that of pitties. They probably got abandoned because of you know, the pregnancy. It ain't the same taking care of 1 or taking care of 5 doggos lol. Not that it's ok to throw them away like that, but just saying, i'm against people having puppies all around lol. They should only be welcomed into a family by the age they can already be neuteres/sprayed, not earlier, and not without it. it should be mandatory for shelters, pet shops, etc, doesn't matter. it shouldn't be a decission left to the owners. at all.

I think the world of you for your mission in life of saving pit bulls. I wish I could have been blessed enough to do this. I have struggled for the past three weeks losing my beautiful soul mate Pittie of 15 years to cancer. She was my everything, my security, my shadow, my nanny to me at 76 and her sister Chihuahua. Not sure how I can do it, but I really want to save a sweet loving, dog in need who will be good to me and my Chi. I’m hoping that my Digit (she was missing a toe, hence her name) will lead me to a new very special Pit Bull.
We need more people like this young lady right here . Having everything a dog needs with no conditions and unconditional love for the dogs so they are safe and sound while looking for a new home 😉.
It's just disgusting and heartbreaking that so many dogs, especially pitties, are being murdered because of no space or other ridiculous reasons! 🤬💔..Thank you for saving this beautiful mama and her beautiful babies..❤❤❤❤..When will some humans/owners spay and neuter their pets!
'No space' is not a ridiculous reason. Public animal shelters are obligated to accept EVERY dog and cat that comes through their doors. They have limited space, limited money, and limited staff. Eventually something gives, either the space, the funds, or the number of hands. There's too many pets being abandoned, stolen, or looked after irresponsibly (and thus getting out/running away) and they end up there. The shelter can't take in infinite dogs.
Female pitbulls are such good mommas. I rescued a pregnant pittie too and she gave birth to 8 puppies. I was able find forever homes for 6 of them but the other 2 ended up staying with me and the momma. It’s been 3 and a half years and until this day she still cleans them, and sleeps with them and she’s very protective of them even tho they are bigger than her lol. She’s such a sweet girl and a great mother 🥹
That's the problem though, you don't know if they are still in a "forever home." As far as you know, they could have ended up on the streets or back in a shelter. That's why it's very important to spay and neuter your pets.
@@dailyshenanigans4883 I completely agree with you! In my case I made sure to make those people sign a contract that said that they had to take csre of the dogs or if they didn’t want them anymore return them to me, so far all of them have the dogs still. I keep communicating with them. And right now the momma and the other two males that I kept are spayed and neutered. If I rescue any dog on the street to give it for adoption I make sure to spay or neuter first before giving it away. It’s all I can do, if I had the money, the space and the time I would have all the animals I have rescued with me trust me 🤍😩. I live in Puerto Rico and in here there’s over 600,000 stray dogs roaming around the island. It’s so bad and the government doesn’t help at all. People are so irresponsible here it makes me sick

And I keep communicating with them, so far all of them have their dogs still . Every situation is different and that’s the most I can do because I’m not a rescuer. I have NO patience for kill shelters. Killing for convienance is NOT acceptable. There are so many wonderful shelters who do everything in the power to foster, adopt, recruit volunteers, and I have helped at some, including on a small island. Is it really hard, and at times overwhelming, yes. Pitties are my favorite, and I have had them as family, and rescue fosters. I am however grateful that she was rescued. Her and her sweet pups. Thank you, thank you!
i mean.....adoption shelters are also a shortcut, for the peace of mind sure, but a shorcut nontheless. We shouldn't have dogs in such avialavility in the first place, way too many dogs all around, and unless neutering them becomes mandatory 100% and you cannot have them younger than the apropiate age for that, then you will have this issue forever. I see kill shelters as a mercy in this situation. Adoption shelters are just picking up the crumbs, and not even necesarily fixing the issue, since again, they get abandoned or they breed like bunnies regardless of them being bought or adopted, it happens either way, since with puppies to have to wait a little bit to do the operation, cannot be done day 1. I know internet dog lovers will be like "me and my friends adopted 4.865.429 dogs in six months, u wrong" but that's just not realistic.
Las Vegas has 900 dumped dogs in the shelters as we speak. 1/2 are pit bulls. Not enough fosters & adopters...what are they suppose to do? Every city is overflowing with abandoned & surrendered dogs & cats due to runaway Govt. Spending which is causing inflation.
they don't kill for convenience, and even if they do everything in their power to foster and get dogs adopted, in the end, if they didn't put animals down they'd become equivalent to a hoarding situation. I hate kill shelters too, but they are not the problem, they are , sad as it is, a necessary evil.
Public animal shelters are obligated to take in EVERY cat and dog that goes through their doors. In large population areas, that's THOUSANDS of animals every year. They have limited space, limited funds, and limited staff. Space to house dogs, food and medicine for them, and people to care for them, they don't appear out of thin air. Every large shelter works with as many fosters, rescues, and volunteers as they can find. But non-kill rescue groups often don't take hard (or impossible) to place dogs, dogs of certain breeds, or with certain health issues. They have the luxury to decline taking on a dog, a luxury public shelters do not have. No shelter kills for convenience. You've clearly never actually worked in any large animal shelter, because you are incredibly ignorant about them. They would LOVE to not have to put any animal to sleep. It's literally not possible. To not put them to sleep, they'd have them stacked dozens of dogs to each 9 foot kennel and the place would just be a cesspool filled with parasites and diseases (as they very often are on those little islands you speak of). The world isn't as simple as you clearly think it is. Learn a little more. You really need to.
The staff protecting her with a jacket so she wouldn’t have to stand in the rain was so lovely. I cannot imagine having to euthanize a dog, much less a PREGNANT dog. Pray for the staff who have to do that, I cannot imagine how they feel going home after that. What a depressing job.
What a amazing mama pit and pittie pups. And of course, all respect and love to all that saved them. What heroes you all are. To save one life in one own's life would be a miracle, to save 8 puppies + mama is a legendary act of love.
Yet a a 68 yr old man in Türkiye rescues and cares for 500 dogs and 100 cats all by himself and no government support. Abdulkerem. Our "shelters" were designed 50 years ago by counties as "animal control"..ie:places we send unwanted pets to be killed. Fact. I wish all the useless college kids protesting over nonsense like pronouns, actually protested the county shelters killing 20x the number of healthy animals compared to any other western nation.
What would be your alternative when there are 15+ dogs coming in every single day either surrendered, found stray or dumped unlawfully outside the shelter and you are running out of room, not enough people are signing up to foster, and you don’t have enough funding from your council/local government? Honestly, tell me what you would do

i see it as the merciful way to have less dogs around period. Rather have that than 9 generations of homeless doggos. specially on poor areas were they grow agressive and end up hurting people on the street (i know, some people here who have the privilege to say "oh a dog would never harm unless provoled", they have never had the experience of crossing paths with a pak of angry strays. it happens a lot in more vulnerable areas of the world)
I think the same !!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The former owner who didn't spay the mama and then dumped her at the shelter is to blame. The shelters are overwhelmed right now.
She looks absolutely sweet. I can not thank rescuers, fosters, adopters more for what they do. Huge gratitude.
Pit bulls killed 119 people in 2023.
They are dangerous, neurotic, destructive dogs.
Such a beautiful uplifting story 😊
Absolutely sobbed with joy when mama Stormi went home with those two overjoyed little kids-- fully knowing shes going to have the best life ever
Indeed ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Me too !!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I once rescued an Old Boston Bulldogge on a Sunday who was scheduled to be euthanized on the next day. Thankfully the city dogcatcher came in on a Sunday and opened the doors to let me adopt him for $5. I had him over 10 years and he was a great dog.
God Bless you ❤
Nice ❤🥰👍👍👍👍👍👍
5$ is nothing..
@@moonshine2603 I think the $5 was only to make it a more legal transaction for the city pound to transfer ownership. They had every cage in the kennel filled with a dog (About 30 of them) and they just wanted to find a home whenever possible, although I suspect many get euthanized.
May I ask please..what was your beloved dog's name..? ❤ Thx!
I love puppies, but I would always pick the mama to adopt. I love mama dogs. ❤
❤❤❤❤❤
ugh needed to see this today. she is SO CUTE. saved a 1.5 yr, 67lb pittie boy who looks just like this momma on Sat who was tied out abandoned on Wed.
What a dear sweet face ! Love to them all !
Me too !!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A nurse of mine is currently fostering a mama cat and her kittens.
I so very much admire fosters who can take care of mamas and babies!!! :)
Such a sweet and gentle dog.. who abandoned her.. how could they.. 😭
This is the best Dodo's story. Something about pregnancy transcends species. We all know what it means.
Dogs absolutely know when a woman's pregnant. They are very protective and affectionate around her. They have much better common sense and compassion than many humans ❤😂
Yes! When my female dog was pregnant, my male dog wouldn’t leave her side! And he was worried when he was away from her
Mama Stormi is going to protect those two little kids for the rest of her life no doubt
Shame on any shelter that would murder a pregnant dog and her puppies! Beyond evil imo! Thank God for kind hearted people!
@AF-wf6vo your both right. The shelter had the choice to not kill a very pregnant dog as well.
It happens all of the time. This is not the only shelter. Unfortunately it's a common practice, especially with pitts.
@@AF-wf6voThe shelter can be blamed as well.
I am so glad that
all of them got adopted to loving forever families!!
Thanks for rescuing🙏

GOD BLESS🙏
The fear in her beautiful face as she was being led out to the car.
Thank you thank you a million times❤❤❤
To have a foster mom available with the perfect set up for a pregnant pittie is so incredible. Just love this.
That Mama Dog is about as perfect as she could be ❤
Yes ❤ so are her babies
The beautiful blue eyes on those puppies …so adorable!!
Sweet mama and thank you to the foster families.
LOL!
Thank you for rescuing 9 lives who were almost taken
Dangerous dogs ? No dangerous people
i mean....you are assuming they thought that of pitties. They probably got abandoned because of you know, the pregnancy. It ain't the same taking care of 1 or taking care of 5 doggos lol.
Not that it's ok to throw them away like that, but just saying, i'm against people having puppies all around lol. They should only be welcomed into a family by the age they can already be neuteres/sprayed, not earlier, and not without it. it should be mandatory for shelters, pet shops, etc, doesn't matter. it shouldn't be a decission left to the owners. at all.
@@magical571 huh , this dog was already pregnant, so thank goodness for the rescue of 9 lives
People breed dogs people are the issue
I stand by my statement and if anything you really do come across stupid and heartless
You probably are to be fair
I misread and thought 47 mins before giving birth there. 😢 Ty so much for getting her out of there and Ty to the foster mom! What a great setup for these dogs in need. So happy momma and babies are doing well!
OMG, way too close! Thank you for rescuing those pups, may they and their momma all have the best lives possible.

These Pitbull stories are so heartwarming. To see these dogs having fun being saved receiving the love that they should have gotten it just makes you feel good that there are some good good people in this world.😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Animal fosters and rescuers are the real heros. How we treat innocent lives show who we truly are as humans.
You have my greatest respect. I can not even bring myself to go in kill shelters anymore. I want to save every last one...
Every single dog deserves love
It hurts *so* much to see such sweet, loving creatures get mistreated in such awful ways
Omg they all so cute. Thank you for rescuing her. Giving her another chance in life

She’s such a cute low-rider Pibble Mama! Thanks for saving her and the puppies lives! 🙏❤️🐶❤️🙏
Thank you so much for saving her. We also had a pit named Storm in our family. My nephew bred her once and she was such a good mommy. She was a blue nose. I wish everyone had the experiences I did with this breed.
you rescuers ARE AMAZING WOMEN. you have made a huge difference in the world. thank you for your hard work.
i'm so pleased she got saved ...she's so sweet and loving ...and so pleased she got a home first ..cos you are right a lot go for the puppies and forget the mama

Thank you for saving her. She is such a gentle and great Mom. Please get them a great home that will love them unconditionally.
Thank you for holding and comforting her before her labor began, she needed that type of human touch and to be held.
Pit Bulls are smart, loving & loyal. Make great pets. Massive respect to the lady who swooped in at the last seco d & basocally saved 9 lives.
We need more people like this young lady right here . Having everything a dog needs with no conditions and unconditional love for the dogs so they are safe and sound while looking for a new home 😉.
OMG look how beautiful those babies are!!!
Pitties get a bad rap. Because some humans mistreat them.
They are actually gentle, sweet fur babies.
Thank you so much for helping her.

Thank you so much for rescuing these cute pups and beautiful mama. Thank you! ❤❤ God bless them
It's just disgusting and heartbreaking that so many dogs, especially pitties, are being murdered because of no space or other ridiculous reasons! 🤬💔..Thank you for saving this beautiful mama and her beautiful babies..❤❤❤❤..When will some humans/owners spay and neuter their pets!
And adopt from shelters instead of buying from overpriced irresponsible breeders
And adopt from shelters instead of buying from overpriced irresponsible breeders
Killing place is not shelter. Thank you for saving this good motherdog and her puppies 🌹
@@dailyshenanigans4883 I totally agree with you! That’s why I made sure to make those people sign a paper that said that if they didn’t wanted the dogs anymore they could give them back to me. And I keep communicating with them, so far all of them have their dogs still . Every situation is different and that’s the most I can do because I’m not a rescuer. I do rescue some dogs when I see them in the street if I can and I make sure that they have a good life. All of my pets are rescued, and all of them are neuter or spayed. I live in an island where there’s more than 600,000 homeless dogs in the streets and it’s not easy to take care of all of them when the government doesn’t help.
Thank you Thank you. Love you ...your heart is full of love. God loves you.

It is true that pitbulls, with the wrong owners and training, can be very scary. However with the right owners, and the right training, they flourish and are the most loving, goofy dogs.

Staffies ( as we call them here in Australia) are THE MOST WONDERFUL DOGS. Thank you for saving this amazing young mamma literally at the eleventh hour ! She is SO BEAUTIFUL and what a wonderful mum she was too. 8 puppies! Wow, no wonder she was so big, I'm so glad that she had you to reasure her during the labour, I loved seeing her put her paw out to you to say thank you just as you held her when she was going into labour, she was SO grateful. Wow, 8 puppies! No wonder she was SO big. I'm kinda not surprised that she was adopted 1st because she's just so sweet. Ive had 2 Staffies, both rescue dogs, both the light of my life while they were here. I'm thinking of working out a way that I can foster, although any dogs I foster will probably become foster-fails, LOL. THANKYOU again for saving these precious souls. You are my people. 🐕🐾😘👏💛💙❤️💜🩷💓🤎💗🤍♥️🩵💚🧡💕💞✌🏽👏😘👏😘🐾🐕🐾😘👏😘👏👏👏👏😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏🙏
There are only so many homes and spots in shelters available… if people spayed and neutered, it wouldn’t be such a big problem!
Thank Goddess for people like Lisa. That mamma dog was blessed to have you as a foster. You are doing God's work. Bless you!!!
You always help the ones in need ❤❤
I’m glad a forever recognized how special momma was and adopted her!
These so called shelters should never put a dog down. Shelter means shelter not a killing zone.
Honestly, tell me what you would do
Unfortunately it's become a necessary evil at this point because humans continue to not take responsibility for their animals.
@@andream9470 yep a symptom of hyper consumption and capitalism
