@@Ariele.Foster Oh yes, doing less in general is so beneficial when trying to break up with grind culture and the capitalist pressure of being productive *at all costs*. So, I'm happy that you are doing your thing!! I'll be here, no rush or urgency, there's no shortage of practices here in your library :) Thanks for replying!
Hi Ariele, I'd like to take a moment to express my gratitude to you for offering your teachings for free here on YT. I have benefitted significantly from them. So I've started a weight training program (mornings 5x a week) and I'm wondering if doing one of your classes in the evenings would be too much, or if they would be a good complement. Thoughts? Thank you!!
Hello! Thank you for taking my classes :). Although I can't answer specifically for you, When people ramp up exercise or movement in general, keep a few things in mind: 1. try to do no more than 10% more each week so that your body has time to adapt to the new level of strenuousness (if anything you are doing is pushing yourself), 2. give yourself needed rest breaks of at least 24 hours when you push hard (for example, if you hit arms during weight training on Monday, you give your arms a rest on Tuesday and focus on legs), 3. Make sure you are getting enough of the *appropriate* calories. For me, if I move more, especially when I do resistance training, I make sure I get enough protein that day by drinking a protein shake. That seems to help with fatigue. Finally, I would say, keep it sustainable. 5 days a week strength training is already incredibly impressive! If you add my classes in the evenings, it could be awesome cross training, just don't burn yourself out and get defeated. Thanks for being here!
