I've been having lower back pain for about two months now. I've tried massages and some stretching but nothing has helped. I did this last night and it's made a tremendous difference. It's the first time in a while that my back wasn't so tight and in pain. Thank you very much and I'll definitely keep doing this routine.
Hi Natasha I just did your psoas release Yin yoga. I am a physician with a major low back pain problem that I believe is because of tight psoas. It was fantastic. I was impressed how you gently eased into each group of muscles working on the hip joint. We physicians only treat one patient at a time. You lucky Yoga practitioners can help so many people at the same time. Pl. keep up the good work and God bless you and keep you healthy and happy.
Did you buy your title on the Internet? Or you were mediocre student who without perspective to be a doctor? I would presume that all phisios should know about all the muscles.
Best yoga practitioner I have had the pleasure of working with. I am a 67 yo beginner and your explanations were spot on and I also love that this was a site (psoas) specific segment. Extremely pleased and feel amazing now. Very refreshed and not nearly as tight!!! Thank you and God bless.
Thanks Natasha, I really enjoyed this yoga class for releasing the Psoas. I am 66 years old and have terrible lower back pain. I was told by my Chriropractor that the main cause is the tightness of my psoas muscle due to stress and sitting in front of a PC all day. I will continue doing this every day and hopefully be able to go and walk my camino (640km) next year without such agonizing lower back pain. I also started yoga classes at the gym, but am enjoying your classes more. Many thanks again. Take Care. Marinda - South Africa
Doctors should prescribe this ! This is gold ! This can repare sciatica problems, pelvic twist, hip pain, lombar pain, help correct knee and feet position... And it massages and stimulate your organs, and relaxes your mind and releases stress... So many benefits ! Practice it daily, add a little abs and core work and it will take all your pain away and after a few months you'll feel like brand new ! It took me out of sciatica syndrome due to pelvic twist and sacro- illiac block 15 years ago. It's been part of my yoga practice ever since ! This video is very clear, no fancy stuff, good timing to.feel and enjoy, the asanas are accessible to anyone, and so effective bravo natacha !
This video has helped me with my back and hip pain so much. A lifetime of back and hip issues has left me with a pinched nerve causing me numbness in my knee. After trying many stretches and rountines with little improvement, I have managed, with your help, to reduce the pain, strengthen, and lighten the numbness. I'm feeling excited about continuing this sequence and discovering others you've posted. Thanks a million!
thanks a million for sharing your class, I have had a lot of issues with my psoas recently and after doing this before bed last night (and after a bath) I woke up with zero pain in my lower back and right hip for the first time in about two months. Thanks again. Namasté!
wow...thank u for this...im a 40 y.o bodybuilder..years of heavy squatting are taxing me now...everytime I squat my hips, groin and lower back kill me for a couple of days..i just started doing this routine before and after my workouts and I'm feeling a lot better , lower back , hips getting better...thank you and god bless..
I've noticed from my own lifting (my husband and I enjoy Oly) that tightness in the hips frequently causes hip and back pain after lifting. I hope you continue to enjoy incorporating more yoga and stretching into your routine and keep seeing improvement! It may be a little more challenging, but you might also like my latest video - it really works on the hips and hamstrings, too. You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/oV2-7uyI77w/v-deo.html Please let me know if you have any questions about how to modify any poses and I'll try to help!
Hi Tash, I just wanna say a big Thanks to you. Everyone should know this...i was suffering from accute lower back pain for many years and last Saturday it was so intense that i could barely move and same day i followed your streches and next morning i found a huge difference and i kept on doing this and added some more and 10 to 12 days later this morning i woke up, first time in months without any pain. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH...GOD BLESS YOU :)
Thank you! We're doing well. I wish I had the chance to make more yoga videos, too. Hopefully one day in the future (like when my daughter can be left alone for more than a few seconds or she's able to attend preschool in person!)
Just wanted you to know I really appreciate how you spend a decent amount of time in each asana not rushing or hurrying but giving each asana the time it needs to do its work. Also, suggesting the use of props is great...especially for older people. Thank you
From the age of 14 i had pain in my (what i thought was neck at that time) psoas, after a lot of self research my physiotherapist didnt knew how to fix it so i had to do it myself after david goggins spoke about stress and how it was related to the body i found psoas and thats how i found your video. Thanks for sharing I love humans soo much now you are an inspiration! Im now 21 by the way so i had a journey that i think i finally found its solution for
I have a really thight psoas on the right side. I try everything to release it. This is by far the best video to really get at the psoas muscle. I will keep doing this excersise, hopefully my psoas returns to "normal" in a few weeks. Thank you!
You might also enjoy this video. It focuses on the posts, but with a different sequence to mix things up a bit! ua-cam.com/video/RknsOy6gHFo/v-deo.html
I have been having psoas issues since March of this year. This practice helped, well, for relief of today's pain. I love yin yoga and this surely helps. Namaste and thank you Natasha!
Thankyou so much for this video. Ive had a problem with my psoas for two years and am constantly in fear and find it hard to relax, breathe, sleep and do normal everyday movements. The doctors denied me treatment as they cant see the problem by looking at me. now I know what to do for stretching and relaxing. Ive seen many unhelpful videos on this and this is by far the most helpful and best explained. And thanks for telling me what caused this. I am very grateful you made this video thankyou so much. Youre a very good teacher. :)
Thank you so much Natasha! I did your yin yoga for releasing the psoas as I am really suffering with my back and hips at the moment. I really enjoyed it and I felt better afterwards! Om shanti
Thank you. I had a core muscle injury repaired in Philly at the Vincera Institute. I have been in grueling PT for months, making up for years of pain and inactivity. The Psoas and adductors are my last trouble spots. I love the Yin style and want to see more 40 min videos.
Yikes! That sounds unpleasant. Thank you for the suggestion - I'm not able to make videos at the moment because I have a young baby, but I'll keep your request in mind once I can start doing videos again!
Ty for posting this. Been struggling with a functional leg length problem for years and after 1 session I noticed my legs have evened out and alot of tension released in back n hips. Thanks again!
Phenomenal video!!!! Really helped and I keep watching over and over again. Anyone who has tight hips and Psoas must watch this. Thank you thank you thank you!
Natasha, thank you for your suggestions to help relax the diaphragm. Congratulations on the upcoming arrival of your child! I wish you and your family many blessings.
Hi Natasha I stumbled across your amazing yoga video about an hour ago. Just before I followed your poses, I had a fair bit of pain in my right hip. Thank you for offering your expertise in Yin Yoga - I have been wanting to try this style of yoga for a long while now, but have been afraid to. I have considerable lower back and hip pain which don't tend to respond well to exercise. However, your calm manner and slower pace encouraged me to complete the set of stretches and now finally feel I found something, and someone that may help me rebuild my strength.
So glad I found this - thankyou Natasha! I've been suffering for so long, an active person feeling debilitated. After one session, I did a brisk 5 mile walk, the only pain was that of muscles having been under used. I would send a thank you gift, but don't use paypal.
Thank you, Natasha! This video has really helped my back pain. I appreciate you so much and thank you for your generosity and compassion to help so many people with your wonderful videos.
II may not be one of your usual type of student. I am a 66 year old man. I have been doing yoga for about 25 years. I love yin yoga and this class was just what iI needed today.. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to comment! Yin yoga is so incredibly valuable, especially as we age, because of how it works on the joints and connective tissues & is a wonderful balancer to modern yin life. I'm glad you enjoyed!
Really loved this video . I have a back problem and couldn't find a stretch that would loosen my psoas but this one did. It was just the right pace. Well done. Watching in Ireland. Jeanette
Thank you Natasha! I loved this practice! It felt so good to release the tension in my hips, back and psoas. I have a lot of tension in those areas from trauma. I have way less pain after this practice. Big love from Australia 💖
Thanks for a lovely slow flow. I have a very tight psoas despite being hyper flexible everywhere else. I'm guilty of pushing myself hard with my yoga practice so it was nice to slow down and relax a little. Thanks x
THANK YOU Natasha I have bulging disc lower back have tried everything to release the pain but yin yoga for Psoas and restorative yoga has helped me the most I love how you take your time and not so much talking You are great love your all your videos!!! Also would love to see video for neck pain from herniated disc
That was GREAT! I've been having issues for a long time with my psoas, and I'm going to try putting this into daily stretching. I really liked that you went through the entire routine in 'real time'. I will be back!! :-)
Thank you Natasha 😍. I have never feel this peaceful in my lower half of the body. I wish you could spread more love to the world 😍🌺. Hope you have a grear day 💓
Thank you so much! My back was so tight that the chiropractor couldn’t pop it. I have been repeating this video for 2 weeks and I already have found so much relief
Incredible! I have been in pain for a week and this sequence did the trick to release the tension. I should have done it sooner, but now I am subscribed so I can find it when I need it. Thank you Natasha!
Hi Natasha, Really enjoyed you slow yin practice this morning. Starting my day right by releasing my psoas & hip flexors. Trusting that all is well with you. Keep up your good work. Until the next time. Sending you love & light. 🥰👍🏼🙏
😀🌺Thank you in helping me learn focus in my body gently. I have been a gung ho all out action all my life and am now with tight muscles. Your practice has given me a new way.
Totally amazed, I could barley get out of my chair feeling like I'm 90 and now I am so getting up with no pain. Thank you. I'd like to know how to strengthen my feet in order to be able to sit more in the poses of yoga!
You have a new subscriber! Thank you deeply for this restorative, juicy practice. This is now one of my favorite sequences. Ignore the 117 dislikes,, it is just not their time and place to be able to appreciate. I also liked the way you invited people to subscribe and like after your practice, instead of demanding it first thing before people even watch the video, like some do. You are definitely in this to GIVE. Blessings!
Thank you Natasha, I have some hip soreness that I am working with. This yoga sequence really helped to calm down the tension, both physically and mentally. Namaste
This was perfectly helpful. The relaxing music and your calm instruction, even the background, all made it feel great. I'll be suggesting this and once my psoas is back to normal , I'll be using this for preventive care. Thank you, I feel the relief I've desperately needed.

I'm glad you enjoyed! I intentionally do not include pigeon in my classes because it is actually a somewhat controversial pose. People who are "tight" are at risk for damaging their knee in pigeon and a lizard lunge (or "dragon" as it's sometimes called in Yin) can get into the same area without the knee risk.
Natasha! TY what a wonderful session!! I have been diagnosed with Trendelenburg Gait. I have been hunting for any yoga that could compliment my efforts. If you have any further suggestions please share!!! Your pace and simple movements make it easy for me to follow. I would love to see anything that works for overweight women as not all of us are as fit as you, but need the wonderful effects of yoga =}
Hi Natasha, thank you so much for this. The video was really clear and I loved the slow pace. It felt like I was in a real yoga class. I am seeing a physical therapist for L5/S problems but feel that my psoas might be at the root of it all. Am definitely subscribing!

first time seeing this and will try it.

Indeed, this video is pure gold! I love it and made it part of my daily practice.
😀🌺Thank you in helping me learn focus in my body gently. I have been a gung ho all out action all my life and am now with tight muscles. Your practice has given me a new way.
Fully enjoyed streching with you keep posting
Thank you. I now really like yoga. Before it was part of my routine and because I pursue sports aggressively I missed its real purpose!
Thank you Natasha, I have some hip soreness that I am working with. This yoga sequence really helped to calm down the tension, both physically and mentally. Namaste
Hello Natasha,
I really love this class and sometimes I come back here. Thank you so much!!
Hugs from Brazil
Thanks for posting, I plan to do this sequence on a regular basis - x
This was perfectly helpful. The relaxing music and your calm instruction, even the background, all made it feel great. I'll be suggesting this and once my psoas is back to normal , I'll be using this for preventive care. Thank you, I feel the relief I've desperately needed.
So glad you enjoyed and thanks for letting me know!
Thank you....I’ve had hip pain for 4 months now. My left leg is still bit painful but I felt my Psoas relax 😊.
The best practice on the psoas I've done on youtube. Thanks soooo much!
Thank you, what a great find 🙂
Just what I needed today namaste
the easeful pace and resting poses that really make a beautiful and purposeful effective routine. Love it.
Merci beaucoup ! Namaste...
Thank you for this! I have been hoping for a yin video that is this speed. Some yin I've done previously went a little fast for me and this was perfect. I look forward to checking out your library for more yin!
Great class, very well paced. I will suscribe as I love Yin yoga. The only thing I missed "the pigeon pose" which is always recommended for the Psoas.
Natasha! TY what a wonderful session!! I have been diagnosed with Trendelenburg Gait. I have been hunting for any yoga that could compliment my efforts. If you have any further suggestions please share!!! Your pace and simple movements make it easy for me to follow. I would love to see anything that works for overweight women as not all of us are as fit as you, but need the wonderful effects of yoga =}
I'm grateful for having discovered your channel and such a nourishing practice...so therapeutic on so many levels...thank you so much, Natasha!
Lovely!! So enjoyed your Yin Yoga Psoas releasing practice. I will try to use this as often as I can. Thank you.
Hi Natasha, thank you so much for this. The video was really clear and I loved the slow pace. It felt like I was in a real yoga class. I am seeing a physical therapist for L5/S problems but feel that my psoas might be at the root of it all. Am definitely subscribing!
