    Did you know that all humans lose bone mass at a rate of 1% per year past age 40?? And over 30% of women have a lifetime chance of suffering from osteoporotic fracture??
    In this chat, I discuss age-related sarcopenia (muscle loss), and osteopenia (bone loss) that affect biological women at least 50% more than men. I also tell a personal story about how osteoporosis decreased the quality of life for a beloved family member.

    I love this! Thats why I lift now in combination with HIIT and then also yoga and stretching. I also fast a lot. So its a great mix and it makes me feel amazing, more resilient and burn more fat even when I‘m resting. I also sleep way better, feel more energized throughout the day. There is also a study that shows that HIIT training positively impacts deep sleep. I love that you cover this topics as it is more holistic than JUST focusing on yoga.

    Farmers carry. Lift as heavy as you can while keeping safety, posture and nutrition in mind.

      I love the farmers carry and assign it and practice it regularly. Thanks, too, for mentioning nutrition. I need to supplement my protein intake, and I recommend the same for many of my plant-forward patients as well.

      @@Ariele.Foster we need all the nutrients we can get (in most cases💖) and our muscles like protein. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    What about boxing (with a bag, not in a ring)

      Boxing definitely gives you impact in both lower body and upper body, so yep, that will work to stave off osteoporosis. May still want to do some targeted weight lifting for sarcopenia and training purposes
