Knowing how metaphysical things in places like that can be what does he do. He goes around the other side of a tree and doesn't stay close. He is trying to get lost.
I loved the book and I think the series did a wonderful alternate take on some story-elements. The series is obviously headed towards a different kind of finale, and I really wish we would have gotten one more season. My guess is that Technical Boy would have remembered that he is one of the Old Gods and that Shadow Moon would have found the wisdom how to defeat Wednesday while hanging from Yggdrasil. After all: In norse mythology, this was precisely the sacrifice Odin originally made to earn his power: Being hung from a tree, Odin learned the power of language, of speech, of runes, of wisdom, of writing, of storytelling, of how the world works and how to convince people.
Season one showed a lot of promise, and fleshed out characters like Laura and Sweeny. I believe the original show runners were fired, so the lightning caught in s1 was gone.
I think he was talking about the Anglo-Saxons but since William took over and many ways Frankofied them I dont know if that argument Jack said was true at all
Reading other comments it seems that the whole show is him recruiting gods for a war (I havn't watched it), so i honestly might have to watch it, as i always feel with shows/movies that have a pantheon of different gods from different religions that they always skip over the individual gods and just get straight to fighting or something, despite the fact that each one represents a complex culture/history/religion from various points of time and places on earth. Might be a show for me ngl, i think it makes sense that recruiting such complex beings isn't easy, and a war between gods would take a while to ramp up.
I got slightly halfway through the book and I put it down. I just couldn’t get into it, the supernatural stuff was way too subtle for me and the book just meanders to and fro not really doing anything. I wanted to like the story. But what story?
@@Mandelbrotmat funny, in the Malazan books he's referred to as 'the bird that steals'. Might be a homage to wisakedjak, considering the author is an anthropologist .

Yeah I'm pretty sure the first scene of the whole show clearly implied that Odin's followers did not want to be there a single second longer than they had to be lol
I just found it interesting that hes blaming Odin for the slaughtering of his people and the theft of their land when his people had been doing that to eachother for thousands of years. Must have been asleep I guess.
Didnt read the books but the gods seem more human than anything else in this series understandably lack of worship i cant explain it gods dont seem godly
That'll happen when they pump the breaks on the plot to talk about race politics because 1. That's what everyone does now and 2. It's way too short a book to fill multiple seasons like this
Yeah, its really sad and aggravating. Its only ever mentioned of what white people did to them. Nobody ever mentions that the native tribes were always doing the same things to eachother for thousands of years.

Greene is such a great actor! I wish he were in more prominent roles, the recent Wendigo movie really screwed up by not featuring him more.
I'm sorry that you guys got canceled I wish they would bring everyone back and give you at least five more seasons
Kinda fitting that Graham Greene is the one playing Wisakedjak considering he played him in Clearcut

As a nordic, I find it tragic that they use a nordic icon to personify western agenda of Machavellían assimilation. But at least they are trying.

The problem with the show is the same as with the book, it just didn’t seem to go anywhere
they got too distracted in fleshing out side chaacters (which they admittedly did an AMAZING job of) and forgot about sticking to the main story.
