I live in a nation where taking the back roads means you might run out of road before you do country, course that depends on where in the country you are. AB's hard to get lost in if you have gps, BC? I have had gps, and it lied, that road ended at a tree line.
Pretty sure he avoids highways because their patterns drawn on a map are like runes, and driving on them is like a sacrifice to the modern gods of, like, cars or transportation or something like that.

@@miguellee7668 Not really. This Odin is a genuinely good manipulator. He knows what people value and their weaknesses, all while being genuinely friendly (i.e. that coin discussion). GoD Odin, by contrast, took some very obvious shots at peoples ego (in a way that made them hate him) and exposed that his own family didn't mean squish to him. It's actually quite telling that everyone, even his own family (baring GoD Heimdall), dislike-to-hate him.
Thing is, without Media and Technology, the old gods would have been forgotten longer ago. As evidence, you are watching a video on your phone of clips from a TV show about forgotten gods, adapted from a novel series, many of whom you probably didn't know about before seeing it.
I can't completely disagree but one of humanities most beautiful aspect is our storytelling, media and technology certainly help but foundationally we'll always be the species telling stories around a fire.

For American gods I would’ve liked to see a God of THE Sun, and I don’t mean Helios, Ra, Inti. Like there’s Mr. World their would be “Mr. Day” he would see all man does in the day and has the power of Devine hellfire at his hands
