    Xpro4 should just be a solid still image camera. Simplify it. It’ll drop the price and would really differentiate it from the xt line.

      Fuji could make it the APS-C Leica M alternative. No video, 40Mpx sensor, further improved hybrid viewfinder and deep coop with Voigtlander on a range of native manual focus lenses. But they will try to cram everything in it, including video - at this stage it's more about SW anyway.

    I agree a lot about the OVF and IBIS. About the LCD screen and headphone jack, I’ll have to pass. The beauty of the X-Pro system for me is that it is a photography first tool. Adding more stuff for video and trying to make it a hybrid In my view would kill the magic of the system. For a hybrid system Fuji offers so much more capable cameras with way better design lenguaje for it. I love my X-Pro 3 because it’s a photography camera, it doesn’t get in the way and just works.
    But that’s my opinion in the X-Pro being a solely personal camera that sees no professional use, I understand why a hybrid package would appeal to actual professionals!

      I've seen professional wedding photographer running around with X-PRO 3 and X-T4 combo. The X-PROs are 'PRO'fessional cameras - they can handle the work - but are purchased more by enthusiasts and hobbyinsts. And for those an option of taking a short video clip here and there would be beneficial. And if you have 5-stop 5-axis IBIS in a camera then it is also a video camera whether you like it or not :)

      Haha what do you mean? I mean... I believe Xpro is meant strictly for still photographer. Ibis would makes almost impossible looking for blur by hand shake, or even removing the hidden screen would make ppl take photographs using the screen and not the optical viewfinder, and chimping too. Personally I would remove the screen at all, like Leica m10 D. Love that styoe.
      For videographer there's already xt4 and xh lineup.
      A strongly agree with iso dial like x100v and I would add a lock for EV compensation. My one always moves by itself.
      If I would be in Fuji I would add a 35mm 1.4 with mechanical manual focus, like the 23mm 1.4.
      Others ideas for the new video ;) hope you appreciate

      @@okiforbreakfast It was just an innocent joke :)
      But really, the X-PRO 3 is actually a very capable video camera, so if the functionality is there, why not push it to an actually usable level (with IBIS, for example).
      Otherwise I see it the same was as you - make it an APS-C copy of Leica M10D by focusing on stills photography and removing video-related mess. Or make a variant like that called X-PRO 4D.
      Fuji were brave design of the X-PRO 3 so let's hope they will not be afraid to push it even further.
      I want to explore Voigtlander manual XF lenses - if I will be able to get them as they are sold out here in UK. Fuji made no comment on manual focus lenses so I don't have high hopes.

    Absolutely agree. I have the X-Pro2, and would love for IBIS and viewfinder improvements. The ISO dial being like the X100v would be great too. I imagine the X-Pro lines will get the high res sensor, and the X-T will get the high speed sensor from the X-H series, but we will wait to see.

    I do agree with some of your opinions, like the X100V ISO dial, IBIS, battery and maybe the brass top plate.
    But for the screen choice, X-T3's 3-way tilting is much better for a true photographer's camera, which is what X-Pro series should be, not a hybrid camera.
    I also wish to have 40mp sensor for X-Pro4, the stacked sensor is nice but again it is more for videography, and adding stacked sensor will be up the cost for the already more expensive X-Pro lines.

    I agree with all the points and wishes. I would add the on the LCD orientation that it should have the additional vertical tilt or three way tilt screen the X-T and X-H bodies have. With "Pro" in the name, this is the only "Pro" or Flagship feature Fuji should put in the X-Pro4. There are many times I want to shoot low portrait angles but my aging knees and back are preventing me to. The three way tilt will address that problem.

    • @PetrGardianTV

      3-way tilt LCD would certainly be best and worthy of a 'PRO' camera.

    Improved AF, the bigger battery and IBIS are all must haves for an upgrade taking this long especially in the bigger body compared to the XE or X100 or XT-00 series
    Nice to haves are that dial you mentioned, improved EVF resolution and scan rate, and not to remove any custom buttons the way they did with the XE4. Maybe throw in faster USB C charging to allow for quick top offs without needing to bring extra batteries.
    Wild idea: go the way of Leica and sell a special edition fixed focal length version. Maybe 50mm equiv. Like a big brother to the X100, with smaller lens form factor, built in ND, and bright aperture.
    We all agree though that the most needed upgrade is the damn Camera app. It was dated when it came out. I dream of a day shooting street and sharing the pics with the strangers I shoot directly via NFC or snappy Bluetooth transfer.

    • @PetrGardianTV
      @PetrGardianTV  2 роки тому +1

      I forgot about USB-C! But I hope that in 2023 that will be given :) Nice idea with the fixed lens camera but there's no way Fuji will spend money on R&D of it, when they can sell adapters for X100V...
      And for the app - I actually made it work recently - after many months of failing :) But it is horrible indeed. I think about it every time when connecting GR3 or CL to my iPhone.

    The xpro3 really has character as a pure photography model. I wouldn’t want too many ports. The design should be elegant not utilitarian.
    I don’t think x pro is a hybrid choice.
    Gets me thinking they could actually come up with a whole new line with no ovf but still rangefinder style and make it hybrid but keep the x pro for the people that care more about looks and elegance and have the luxury and time to shoot slowly with the screen hidden and a digital film strip giving a constant history lesson.

    • @PetrGardianTV
      @PetrGardianTV  2 роки тому +1

      I get what you mean but X-PRO 3 has plenty of ports already and adding an actual usable full size mic jack instead of the micro one would make sense. As well as USB-C.
      What you are describing is a bigger and better X-E4, which would be great but will not happen. Fuji are too smart with their marketing for canibalizing two camera lines at the same time! :)

    Hi, Petr! Is the xpro 3 discontinued? I was searching Leica M alternatives and came across the xpro 3, it shows for sale on fujis website but you can’t buy it. I’ve also checked out online camera stores and they don’t have it or you can’t buy it also. I’d really like to get this camera if possible, paired with the 23mm 1.4 ln wr would make it an amazing pairing with my Leica tl2 with 23mm f2. Also, how do you feel about the base model black xpro 3 as compared to the dura coating versions?

    • @PetrGardianTV
      @PetrGardianTV  Рік тому +1

      Hi, the X-PRO 3 is not discontinued but like X100V it has not been supplied to stores in usual volumes in recent months. That is why you can see it being sold on used market for stupid money. The new 23/1.4 is nice and you can pair it with any other Fuji camera equipped with the 26mpx sensor and the images will be exactly the same as from X-PRO 3. It is a nice camera though and if OVF is what you are after then there is not alternative outside Leica. Re: black vs dura - I tried both and see not reason to pay for the dura coating, unless you want a very fancy (and in silver also flashy) piece of kit. If money is no object then 'dura black' is the nicest one, imo.

      @@PetrGardianTV thank you so much for the reply! The last few days I’ve narrowed it down to the 23mm f2 and the 27mm 2.8 lenses. I thought about my uses and after watching a lot of videos between the two, I couldn’t see myself paying double the price for the 1.4. The 27mm size is very tempting although I’m not used to that focal length so I’d have to give it some consideration. What do you think for a one lens only between the 23mm f2 and 27mm 2.8? 100% agree regarding the EVF eye relief.
    Under 17mm is bananas. It is why I switched from an X Pro 2 to Sony A6400 (and the Sony is great with faster focusing and a flip up screen for low shots).
    The X Pro 3 is twice the price of the Sony but has a far worse EVF for glasses wearers like me (I simply can't see all the image in the EVF because of the short eye relief point). You have to go all the way back to the XE2 for a left EVF Fuji with 23mm eye relief.
    The weight is an issue for me too. I like the XE and A6xxx weight. The X Pro is nice and solid but I would like the OVF sacrificed to save some size/weight. The X Pro 2 was fine with the 18mm f2 and 35 1.4, but would be too heavy with the new Fuji f1.4 lenses. The Sony/Sigma f1.4 combos are much lighter and much cheaper, making it easy to accept the loss of dials and aperture rings.

    • @PetrGardianTV
      @PetrGardianTV  Рік тому

      I need to give these Sony cameras a chance. In the end it's things like eye relief that make for a good user experience and not oldschool dials.
      Fuji do need to get better at designing smaller EVFs - seems like all their attention (and budget) went to X-H and X-T line of cameras - at least that is what we can see from this year releases. But I'm still hoping for a killer X-PRO 4!
      The new Fuji 1.4 primes are borderline in terms of size and weight on the X-PRO cameras and are much more suited for X-T line where a pontential user is not so worried about size of the overall kit. Re-release of Fuji f2 primes with sharper optical formula would make things a lot more interesting.

  • @fellowcitizen
    @fellowcitizen 2 роки тому +1

    I'm hoping that there will be one soon. Very keen for a new X-Pro relatively soon, and the X-Pro3 is now in an awkward phase.
    I haven't used the new screen, but it doesn't affect exposure-checks since I'd use the evf for that. I think it looks nice - less sold on the position of the submonitor, though.
    The bigger battery would be excellent, even if it means a slightly bigger chassis or the addition of a slight grip.
    Two-tier dial and updated ISO dial would definitely be welcome.
    I like the basic design as is. I like the X100V, too, but don't think it needs to match.
    By this point I'm less averse to IBIS since it's become reliable, but it wouldn't bother me if it were absent.
    Smaller ports don't bother me for this model.
    I like the silver Titanium, but it's likely I'd get black anyway since it's more likely to be in my price range on sale. Maybe I'd get a silver X-Pro3 in 5yrs when they're super cheap to satisfy that desire.

    • @PetrGardianTV
      @PetrGardianTV  2 роки тому +1

      The submonitor is the most redundant feature of the camera - I may check battery level there but that's it. The LCD has better colour reproduction than EVF - I never trust EVF colours and always check histogram.
      Right now it's bad time to buy used cameras. Everything is more expensive than a year ago. I used to see X100V going for 20% less on eBay than what you have to pay now - and that is all used!
