I am not going to say that there werent songs I was disappointed to not see, but don't take that as a bad thing. Is every one of us made a top 100 list it would look entirely different. You put a massive amount of effort to make an epic compilation of amazing pieces from games you clearly love, and this list reflects that. I couldnt be happier that I found this. Thanks for all your hard work.
This goes beyond being a video, this is a project that took 6 years of work, let that number sink in. Its a remarkable amount of time dedicated to put so much dedication to finecraft this list that covers so many games. I want to praise the effort that was put to achieve the final result, which speaks for itself. Very few are able to maintain interest in such a project fo so much time. Praise to the creators of this masterpiece :)
Of all " vgm compilation " we can find on UA-cam , I think you did one of the most ambitious and well crafted work I've ever seen. The selection , the editing, the mixes, the sidenotes... everything in this project reflects love and passion for music and videogames. Thank you guys 🙏🙏🙏
This is one of those incredibly rare videos where the creator poured their heart, soul, time, energy, blood, sweat, tears and probably a bit of piss into it. Deserves more views. Thank you for making this I greatly appreciate it.
Please, please, for the love of music, do not ever take this video down until the end of times, or at least until I die.. This is part of my life's routine, I need to hear and read the whole thing once a month. It's a wonderful gift to all FF Fans, I'm so grateful. Thank you so much ♥️
I don't understand why so many people are hating on this. This is amazing. There is definitely over a 100 ff songs that deserve to be in the top 100, but its kind've impossible to do. If you don't agree with the rankings, then make your own.
I, as a fan of final fantasy, cried a lot just hearing the main theme of the series. As the video went by, the tears dried up and gave way to an immense nostalgia. And in the end, when my eyes reloaded i cried again. This was the best work I've ever seen. I'm proud to know this series since I was 9 years old. and proud to be a brazilian who knows this series
Gonna try something. 100. 3:33 - Can you hear the cry of the planet? I won't comment on the ranking itself as that is obviously very subjective, but I LOVE that the comments and remixes/dualmixes really give so many of them a chance to shine, and that spinoff titles were considered! It really shows an appreciation of the franchise as a whole. Getting a top 100 list that everyone will agree on is impossible, but this is probably the most enjoyable one just because of the obvious love that went into it.
*Songs that totally deserved a spot in the top 100:* FF2: Rebel Army Theme, Pandemonium FF4: Four Emperors, Illusionary World, Another Moon FF5: Ahead On Our Way, Battle On The Big Bridge, The Evil Lord Exdeath FF8: The Man With The Machine Gun, Martial Law FF9: Freya's Theme, Kuja's Theme
Bro, FF7 City Of The Ancients. It makes no sense to have a top 100 without what is literally one of the most incredible music ever created for a video game
This video had a lot of love and effort poured into it, and I gotta say as a big fan of the series, I loved it. It seems like every comment is some form of "great work, but your taste sucks/where's blahblah?" which is kind of inevitable with this sort of video, especially with a fanbase like ours, so don't take it to heart too much. I personally had no issue with your choices and just enjoyed the journey. Keep up the quality!
This is a fascinating piece of media and clearly had a lot of devotion and dedication put into it. Wonderful work done by the creators and a beautiful listen for eight+ hours. Music lists are inherently subjective, so everyone certainly will have their own opinions on the order of many of these songs (Final Fantasy VI not having at least one representation in the Top 10, for example, as one of the most complete and perfect soundtracks to ever exist in video games), but the broad-scope representation of the entire franchise as a whole, right down to the least-known titles, is absolutely something to behold. As a lifelong fan of the Final Fantasy series, the larger community of fans never ceases to amaze. Great appreciation to those involved. :)
I can't overstate how much of a crazy amount of effort this video must of taken. From an FF music channel, nothing but respect for putting this together.
I've been listening to this almost every day at work. The music doesn't demand too much of my focus to the point of distraction, so I can tune in and out as needed, and I'm always happy with what I hear. At the same time, that means I don't memorize the songs and order, so it's "fresh" every time I play it! And I LOVE how long it is too! It covers my entire shift AND lunch instead of those other videos that end 30 minutes before I'm out unless my ADHD ass remembers to pause it for my lunch break. lol So basically? THANK YOU!!
I don't usually comment in UA-cam videos. I hardly ever leave a like or dislike, I just watch videos. But this video. It had me in tears at the end. Thank you so much for the amazing work you did on this.
man ... this is why I am subscribed to this channel; The love and time they dedicated to it is too noticeable - for this I will say that this should be part of the encyclopedia of videogames in some future. my applause and congratulations for this and the previous videos
While I may not agree with the order of your list, I want to thank you so much for putting this together. I couldn't imagine how long it took you to create this video! I just finished listening to every second of it over 3 days of work and I will most likely have it on repeat quite often. Oh, and honestly, by the time I got to the end, I felt a similar feeling as when I beat a final fantasy game!
In my eyes, the time, effort, and passion put into this video shows. Well done. I liked seeing what you thought of a track, where you ranked it, and why it's there, in your opinion. We have different lists overall, but that's fine, of course. My reason for watching this video was to hear differing opinions and stellar music. As a result, I'm walking away with additional favourites and newfound appreciation. Thank you. No matter which Final Fantasy entry I play, the soundtrack is always a joy for me to hear. I have this series to thank for getting me into original composition and arrangement. For every instrument I've picked up, Final Fantasy music was behind my mastery of it. So this video is a nice reminder of my many firsts. Fond memories. Now that it's released, I wonder where the varies Final Fantasy XVI tracks would fit on your list, assuming you've played it. I'm sure at least one out of the two-hundred or so would secure a spot. Once we've gotten several more Final Fantasy games, perhaps this list could be updated to include their tracks as well. I'm curious what it would look like then.
Probably the best attempt at this, but FF4 and FF6... criminally underrepresented, imo. Battle of the Four Fiends (FF4), Zeromus Battle (FF4), Boss Battle 1 - AKA Culex's Theme (FF4) The Opera (FF6), Searching for Friends (FF6) All strong contenders :)
Discovered this gem of a video today and I am nearly through this whole Top 100 right now. Such effort. Such nostalgia. Such good taste in music. Also I really like your comments to every single song. Thank you!
I have been listening to this for the last few weeks an hour or so at a time while opening up my bar. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate the hard work you put into this spectacular list of beautiful music!!!! Thank you!
This was really wonderful work. I'm slightly in awe of the amount of effort you put in; I felt a little bad for listening to it while I was working, so I missed out on a lot of the footage and commentary! Fantastic achievement, and it's nice to see some of the more divisive Final Fantasy games treated with thoughtfulness and respect.
A good list, but I'm just mad that "FF10 Otherworld", "FF8 Eyes on me", "FF10 Suteki da ne", and "FF15 Hellfire" didn't make it on here. 0:00 Intro 3:34 FF7: Can you hear the cry of the planet? 7:14 FFBE: Battle Theme 9:49 FF3: Last battle 15:43 FF9: The final battle 21:00 Final Fantasy 1 Chaos Shrine 22:47 FF15: Veiled in Black 26:10 FF9: Battle 2 31:24 FF tactics: Run past through the plain 35:04 FF Main Theme/ FF4: The after years (opening theme) 37:36 FF9: Assault of the silver dragons 40:14 FFBE: WotV: Under the flag 43:02 FF10: Final battle 46:51 FF Mobius: Blank Slate 50:44 FF14 SB: Procedamus in Pace 55:30 FFBE: World map 59:05 FF9: Battle 1 1:02:20 FF15: Hunt or Be Hunted 1:07:27 FF4: Theme of Love 1:10:38 FF14 HW: Imagination 1:14:20 FF9: Dark City Treno 1:17:17 FFBE: Moment of recall 1:20:02 FF Tactics: Apoplexy 1:24:13 FF11: Airship 1:28:21 FF13-2 Full Speed Ahead 1:32:14 FFBE: Mystic Ruins 1:34:40 FF9: Village of Dali 1:39:07 FF7: DoC: Calm before the storm 1:41:28 FF6: Phantom Forest 1:44:47 FFBE: Point of no Return 1:47:15 FFBE: ORDER WITHOUT HONOR 1:50:13 FF9: Festival of the hunt 1:53:58 FF7R: The day Midgar stood still 1:55:59 FF7R: Fires of Resistance 1:59:25 FF9: You're not Alone 2:04:04 FF10: Silence before the storm 2:07:15 FF14 ARR: Sultana Dreaming 2:13:06 FF13: Dust to Dust 2:16:54 FF TYPE-0: The beginning of the end 2:19:41 FF10: Beyond the darkness 2:24:21 FFBE: Divided we Fall 2:27:07 FF7R: Under the Rotting Pizza 2:30:58 FF15: Apocalypsis Aquarius 2:35:28 FF8: Balamb Garden 2:39:00 FF7: Wutai 2:43:31 FF15 Episode Ardyn: Regis Boss Fight 2:48:33 FF9: Vamo' Alla Flamenco 2:51:43 FF7: Judgment Day 2:55:52 FF14 ARR: Penitus 3:03:30 FF10: Spira Unplugged 3:07:43 FF Tactics: Trisection 3:10:21 FFBE WoTV: Main Theme 3:13:07 FF12: Giza Plains 3:17:52 FF Tactics: Ultima's Transformation 3:22:17 FF15: Dewdrops at Dawn 3:23:56 FF Crystal Chronicles: Sound of the Wind 3:27:31 FF12: Eruyt Village 3:31:49 FF14 SHB: The tower at paradigm's breach 3:36:49 FF7R: The Valkyrie 3:43:17 FF10: Servants of the mountain 3:48:08 FF15 Episode Ignis: Become the FIRE 3:52:24 FF13 LR: Chocobo Carnivale 3:56:28 FF7: Anxious Heart 4:00:32 FF10: Besaid Island 4:06:10 FF8: Don't Be Afraid 4:09:03 FF15: Magna Insomnia 4:12:44 FF14 ARR: Hubris/FF3 Crystal caves 4:18:39 FF8: Premonition 4:23:22 FF7: Aerith's Theme 4:24:12 FF7: Flowers blooming in the church (FF7 spoiler...) 4:29:47 FF6: The Decisive Battle 4:32:55 FF12: Dalmasca Estersand 4:36:59 FF Tactics: Antipyretic 4:39:08 FF13: Saber's Edge 4:42:23 FF14 ARR: Ultima 4:49:10 FF5: The Battle at the Big Bridge 5:04:58 FF9: Vivi's Theme 5:08:10 FF7R: Main Theme 5:14:22 FF6: Opening Theme 5:18:41 FF13-2: All or Nothing 5:24:20 FF Tactics: Prologue Movie 5:27:11 FF7: Birth of a God 5:31:27 FF6: Dancing Mad 5:49:12 FF9: Crossing those hills 5:53:51 FF14 ARR: I am the sea 6:00:21 FF Chocobo Theme (almost 40 minutes of chocobos!) 6:37:43 FF Tactics: Battle on the bridge 6:41:14 FF14 ARR: Tenacity 6:46:12 FF7: Fight on! 6:56:34 FF10: Via Purifico 6:59:44 FF10 Fight with Seymour 7:05:30 FF7: Jenova Absolute 7:09:30 FF8: Force your Way 7:15:11 FF7: Let the battles Begin 7:22:19 FF8: The Legendary Beast TOP 10 7:28:22 FF10: A contest of Aeons 7:35:08 FF15: Up for the Challenge 7:39:19 FF13: Lightning's Theme 7:41:43 FF13: Blinded by Light 7:49:25 FF7: Jenova 7:58:40 FF7: Opening - Bombing Mission 8:09:20 FF8: The Extreme 8:16:21 FF12: Streets of Rabanastre 8:22:11 FF8: Liberi Fatali 8:25:26 FF7: One Winged Angel 8:38:32 ???
Now this has been an absolute treat. You can so easily tell the amount of effort and care that went into putting together this massive compilation. As a lifelong FF enjoyer I loved every minute of it. My only regret is that I didn't find this video 2 years ago!
I was looking forward to 8+ hours of final fantasy music to have playing in the background, but you HAD to go and add fun facts and commentary to every single song!? Really impressed with this Brave Ex mobile game. It got a ton of spots in the list.
Oooooh k, so I’ve listened to this (almost 9 hours) thing a hundred times. It’s my work soundtrack and I think you did an amazing job compiling the greats!!! I just returned from a fan event in LA for FFBE and I’m having music withdrawals. I obviously pick this, my comfort soundtrack. I’m a big fan and definitely am keeping you around cause I’m also a music stalker and need to feel those endorphins. 🖤🖤🖤
First of all, much love and respect to this list. It's a great one, for sure. Props are due to those of you who put it together, especially the extra work that went into the Dual Mixes. And I even like the #1 choice though it caught me off guard. But of course, we each have our faves, and I was sad to see a few of mine missing. I paused the video after #2 and thought long and hard about what the top choice would be. I thought it would be the epic opera scene from Final Fantasy 6. The amount of emotion poured into that entire scene was breathtaking, and I thought it would have deserved the spot. But I understand that the primitive vocals from the SNES sound chip probably held it back. Maybe we'll get our remake of that scene someday, and the choice will be a lot easier! Other than that track, I will profer a few of my all-time favorites. But before I do, I want to say I GREATLY appreciate your love for Hitoshi Sakimoto, who did ground-breaking work on FF Tactics and FF 12. It was great to see many of his phenomenal tracks on the list. I personally missed seeing my favorite Tactics track, "Pressure (No. 1)" (as well as my 2nd fave, "Tension") and my fave FF 12 track, "The Cerobi Steppe." But anyhow, here a few more that would likely be in my top 20: Opening Theme of FF X-2 (aka "Memory of Lightwaves"): I thought for sure it would be one of the remaining "opening tunes" when you said there were two left. Barthandelus battle, aka "Fighting Fate" from FF 13, which might be my favorite boss music of all time. You had a LOT of unexpected love for the FF 15 OST. While I adore Yoko, I was underwhelmed by the soundtrack. And my favorite song ended up being Florence and the Machine, "Too Much is Never Enough." But you did say that you were lukewarm about vocal tracks (which I also am, generally speaking). More tracks from FF4! I was sad that you put so many mobile game songs on your list, and left out so many great tracks from FF4. The glorious FF6 track "Kefka's Tower" which combined high/low elements and energy perfectly. EDIT: I almost forgot, I love that you put a lot of end-game FF8 in there, but you missed my fave! "The Castle" It is also clear that you like prog-rock tracks more than me. You are probably a big fan of Motoi Sakuraba (composer of the Star Ocean and Shining Force series), and I am too! I just feel he does a much better job with prog-rock style tracks than Uematsu. But anyway, you did a phenomenal job with your list. I certainly loved sitting back and listening to all of it. Thank you for putting this out into the universe!
As a lifelong FF fanatic, watching this video was legitimately one of the finest pieces of content I have ever seen not only in general but for FF content. thank you so much for all of this effort. It has not been wasted or made in vain. I may be bias because FFX and X-2 were my favorite in the series... to see the ending of X as the #1 made me cry about as hard as finishing the game itself. Thank you.
The added commentary crushes it! I wanna skip ahead to the top 10 but every track is such great nostalgia. Love the production and heart put into EIGHT HOURS. Great stuff.

This is soooo solid. I especially appreciate the nice commentary/background info for each song. Really love the way you guys think about these songs and their positioning within the games themselves. Really great work.
This video is a fantastic piece of work, thank you. So many FF music compilations are just MIDI or synth covers of the original soundtracks, are loaded with ads, etc. To find one that honors the original soundtracks is really awesome. Good on you for your hard work compiling this.
I can't thank you enough for making this list! This is now my go-to music compliation for both work and study. Your love for FF music is palpable, especially in the carefully selected arrangements and dual mixes. I love the broad scope of your project, and I actually can't wait for a second part or continuation of sorts. Maybe an honorable mentions video? Or maybe top list of songs from pre-FFVII games that didn't get a chance to shine in this video? In any case, I wish you luck and patience for your future projects❤
Read all of your comments and was shocked that you would have the energy to make another video like this after putting out this masterpiece. Good on you for having the drive. You are a better person than I.
i see a lot of people complaining but honestly even just seeing the opening with that theme in the background and seeing all of the game titles being cycled through made me tear up- I experienced my first final fantasy content watching my mom play ff7 when i was around 4 years old and have grown up playing and watching these games my whole life. i'm only 19 but this franchise means so much to me and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time and dedication to create this mix
This is incredible. The added knowledge and remix blends along with the correct game video... This is the perfect blend. And fills the hole of what the world needs. Thank you so much for your effort!
I can tell you worked your ass off on this. The footage. The commentary. The seamless transitioning between multiple versions of a song. *Impressive work!*
I can’t say I agree with some of the decisions made, (Aerith’s Theme in the 30s?!) but you can see all the hard work and affection you guys have for the franchise. Great video!!!
I appreciate the tons of hours put into creating this wonderful candy for us FF fans. Having played many FF since childhood i do have some tracks that are my personal favorites, not being found in this top 100, but deffinately deserve a honorable mention here imo!: #1 FF13 sulyya springs ---> This track is probably one of the most underrated tracks of alltime and in my opinion deserves a #10> spot in any FF music ranking list #2 FF13LR luxerion (the specific 009 section; luxerion 009) #3 FF10 someday the dream will end #4 FF11 sanctuary of zitah #5 FF8 Fishermans horizon
This is a great list, but as a FFXI and FFXIV fan I wanna complain 1st, FFXI OST is not forgettable. At least not for us who played it for years. Even if you didn't play, lots of melodies transmit a lot of emotions, like joy, sadness, pressure, nostalgia... Personally Al'taieu, Stargazing, Griffons never die, Autumn footfalls, Kazham, Tu'Lia, Awakening, Ragnarok, Jeweled Boughs are great themes. Naoshi Mizuta and Kumi Tanioka did a great job ambienting our journey to Vana'diel 2nd, FFXIV is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger and has really really great tracks, full with energy, with sadness, great songs. I agree with "Imagination" being in this top because it's a great track, but DUDE, It's the final dungeon for Heavensward! It combines the motif of the Heavensward theme! It's like OMG Yes finally we're going to defeat Thordan! But also look at all these biologically modified abominations in the setting of the epitome of technology of Allagan Empire! Procedamus in Pace IS NOT a night theme. It's part of a crucial part in the storyline of Stormblood. For beautiful night themes, personally, Painted Skies (Dravanian Forelands from Heavensward), Nobility Sleeps (The Pillars of Ishgard Theme), Knowledge never sleeps (Crystarium theme from Shadowbringers), Well ALL Shadowbringers OST is a JEWEL. Would have loved to see those themes here. Besides that thanks for the list! The Dual Remixes are crazy! How about a Triple Remix or Mashup of Force your way including Shadowbringers version???
I went through this list in the span of 3 days. I remembered and reminisced, I laughed, discovered, gasped, frowned and (yes) weeped a ton. Thank you for taking the time to create this wonderful list and most of all, the medleys, they are simply fantastic. And yes, you overdid it with the Chocobo theme, LOL. Funny story, I though you weren't gonna use cover versions and the Via Purifico (FF X) version you used is the one from FF X Piano Collections. However, I haven't played FF X HD yet so not sure if that's the version they used for the game but if they did, Kudos! Also, you used the name Terra (NA) instead of Tina (the original name in Japan) for the FF VI intro and in other mentions during the video.... come on guys, FF is JRPG franchise........ OK, I'll slowly fade into the background now..........
Just commenting here to say thank you for making the last two days of listening to this while working really enjoyable. Huge accomplishment putting this together.
spoilers for the #1 and #2 spots When I saw one winged angle was in the #2 spot I was really sad because I thought to Zanarkand wouldn't make the list. It's my favorite song in the whole FF franchise as well, and hearing the ending theme to FFX and the to Zanarkand melody play in the top spot really made my day (more like week since that's how long it took me to watch the full video). Thanks for the amazing video!
took two days, but watched it from start to finish. this was quite the job to take on, and you did splendidly! Thank you for this gift. Call me a subscriber.
Ff8 was the first ever final fantasy I ever beat on my own when I was 8. I will never ever forget the way balamb gardens music made me feel growing up in a very shitty environment
This was awesome. Thank you to those that spent all this time putting it together - it shows! Info on each one is appreciated too, along with the multiple versions and Mashups!
Well, this is all I needed to know to not watch the video. FFXI has some of the best music in the franchise. Talk about memorable gaming moments marked by music.
Some of these tracks still make me tear up... "You"re not alone", FFVII main theme, Aerith"s thene, Ignis' theme, "Dewdrops in the Dawn", Zanarkand... and those battle music tracks just make you feel strong enough to tackle anything. Just magical.
I listened to all of this in some parts while studying and it was worth the time! While listening I made a list of interesting soundtracks I want to save for later. Really, I have never seen such a dedicated work and I really enjoyed reading those blue text boxes especially when my favourite FF games came up. Thanks you so much for the video! I will listen to your N64 compilation too after that. I'm really interested in your future works. And the 30 minute Chocobo-Medley was too short! :D
MY GOD the amount of love and dedication on this video is just unbelievable, thank you so much for such amazing work, this video is a love letter to gaming history and FF itself. this should get at least 500k views minimum. oh and the side notes are an absolute 10/10 it enhanced the experience a lot
Just finished this after watching it over the course of a week with my wife (who I married with FF music playing for the ceremony.) Great work, thanks for your effort. Highlight of our holiday vacation.
This is amazing and deserves so much more views. I watched it from start to finished and was totally hyped for the top 10. I wasn't expecting the tune at number 1! But I have to admit...I kind of agree. Great stuff.
What an incredible list! I'm so happy that I listened to the whole thing. I'm even more pumped to play the Final Fantasy games that I haven't gotten around to yet! Very happy with what ended up being #1 and that Triple Mix of Fight with Seymour was absolutely god-like!
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for doing this. I kept waiting for To Zanarkand to show up and was worried you were going to skip it towards the end. Makes me so happy to see it in the #1 spot (sort of ;) ).
My god, i expected just the title of the game and the track, but you went ahead and described, talked about remixed, added in game footage(!) Amazing work.
Thank you so much for the Jenova dual mix, and the recognition of The Extreme. What a project, it must have been so hard to achieve. I hope you're proud of what you did ! Looking forward to seeing a potential V2 !
I have to say that the Fight With Seymour mixes were just breath-takingly beautiful. I was sad that the rearranged version was played because I honestly did not like that version...but once I heard the original mixed in with it...THAT is the best version of this song. Good job guys!
With something as subjective as tastes in music it is impossible for us all to agree, but you did an excellent job making this video, your dedication is evident and it was interesting to read your opinion on each song. I had a great time enjoying this video Still i can't believe that "Dancing Mad" only reached # 23 hahah
Been listening to this in the background and never realised that there are fun facts in the video. This truly was a big project and was very much worth the effort! Thanks!
While I certainly do not agree with many of your opinions on the games and some music choices/placements. This did provide a nice nostalgia treat. Thanks for your hard work and some fantastic music arranged so meticulously and carefully. Always nice to see someone else enjoy FF so much and it shows an impact that resonates with such a large audience
everyone complaining there is no this or there is no that .. Just focus on what there IS actually in this video they detailed each song explaining WHY they put it here and this is better than just putting mainstreamly liked songs that everyone know and agree with
I'm honest: I wanted to complain when you set "Tenacity" as your best FFXIV song and comment with a long list of songs that are better than that (I'm also surprised you didn't include the FFXIV rearrangement of "The Extreme", it's pure epicness), but all was forgiven after listening to the top 10 and making me cry with your #1 pick. Also, the Dual Mixes are just pure love and awesomeness!
I kind of disregarded this list when I saw the Shadowbringer main theme was not in the top ten. Then I looked at what was on this list, and realized this guy never got passed ARR. Half this list would be Soken FF14 music if he did.
@@DarthSoto78 At least we have Imagination, but also it's very old footage. I'd loved that the entire dungeon was shown (at least) in parts. Also he says that Procedamus in pace is a night theme, when it's the theme of Rhalgr's reach battle defeat...
Just finished listening to the playlist, it kept me company during a 9h study session, thanks a bunch! Especially for making me discover a new version of Ultima :D
And here I was, thinking I could put this in the background while working... and here I am, 15 minutes later, finally deciding to add this to my watch later list to fully immerse myself into it. Great job, thank you! Looking forward to watching all of that :)
I'm just at the beginning and I'm already AMAZED by the hard work done on mixing the battle theme of FFIII! I can't wait to listen to all of them, good job! You deserve more recognition!
Only thing I'm surprised by is that Aerith's Theme came in at #36. I still remember how evocative it was in her death scene in the original FFVII game. Moved me to tears.
I'm starting it again! I listened to this whole thing in a few weeks about a year ago while opening up my bar. Here we go again! Great way to start a long work shift!!!! You guys did such a fantastic job putting this together. Thank you so much!!!!
Undoubtedly, Nobuo Uematsu is the best composer for this incredible compilation of the Final Fantasy Saga. Thanks for this excellent effort. Now, your next challenge would be the Chronno Cross and Chrono Trigger Sagas too, and that will be greatly appreciated.
I don't agree with the idea of ranking them because I feel it's highly based on how those games individually remind the authors of their experience of them (hence my ranking would be different), though I appreciate this huge amount of compilation for it enables me to discover new profound ost's I didn't knew. Well done for spreading the beauty of the final fantasies !
Loved the vid! Loved all the effort and work that was put into it as well as giving recognition to lesser known games and composers. Would love to see an updated version of the list now but honestly it might be too much, maybe if it was in parts but who knows. I binged this in two days because... sleep. But i never skipped or sped up the video! Hope the best for ya'll!! ❤
I appreciate the hard work. I didn't expect to see FFX end for no.1 but it reminded me how choked up I got. What a bittersweet ending. Tidus knowing ahead of time that he'd disappear if they succeeded but he still had the courage to see it out. He sacrificed his "life" for Spira, for the people who created him through dreams, and for Yuna and the gang. It taught me that love is larger than yourself and even faced with certain death it'll empower you to see it through win or lose. The whole game we thought Yuna would be the one to die which was so sad then right towards the end we got that curveball. I spent the whole game mourning her and didn't consider I'd mourn with her.

Shoutout to all the people out there who had this 2 year old video suddenly pop up in recommendations.
Honestly the fact that this only took 6 years is quite the feat. The amount of research that went into this must be taken an incredible amount of time
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bruh that has to be a lie
That’s too much effort!!!
6 years of work is dedication when it helps humanity.
This is a 6 year hobby man
Of all " vgm compilation " we can find on UA-cam , I think you did one of the most ambitious and well crafted work I've ever seen.
A bit of piss sent me 🤣
Please, please, for the love of music, do not ever take this video down until the end of times, or at least until I die.. This is part of my life's routine, I need to hear and read the whole thing once a month. It's a wonderful gift to all FF Fans, I'm so grateful. Thank you so much ♥️
They might not but square enjx will definitely copy strike one day you should download the video if you want to save it
I don't understand why so many people are hating on this.

78. 1:24:14 - Airship (Final Fantasy XI)
Amen
*Songs that totally deserved a spot in the top 100:*
FF2: Rebel Army Theme, Pandemonium
FF4: Four Emperors, Illusionary World, Another Moon
FF5: Ahead On Our Way, Battle On The Big Bridge, The Evil Lord Exdeath
FF8: The Man With The Machine Gun, Martial Law
FF9: Freya's Theme, Kuja's Theme
Bro, FF7 City Of The Ancients. It makes no sense to have a top 100 without what is literally one of the most incredible music ever created for a video game
whoa Battle on the Big Bridge wasn't on there? missed that detail, definitely a classic bop
@@NaturalEntertainer85actually not only was it on there, it was featured extensively with multiple arrangements
The Rebel Army Theme from FF2 is such a fantastic piece of music
This video had a lot of love and effort poured into it, and I gotta say as a big fan of the series, I loved it.
It seems like every comment is some form of "great work, but your taste sucks/where's blahblah?" which is kind of inevitable with this sort of video, especially with a fanbase like ours, so don't take it to heart too much.
I personally had no issue with your choices and just enjoyed the journey. Keep up the quality!
Yes, finally they have come back. We've waited for you all this time. Welcome!
Thank you for the kind words! It was indeed a gargantuan task.
It covers my entire shift AND lunch instead of those other videos that end 30 minutes before I'm out unless my ADHD ass remembers to pause it for my lunch break. lol
So basically? THANK YOU!!
The best part of this video is your descriptions of the songs. Really appreciate the thought and work you put into this!
Battle of the Four Fiends (FF4),
Zeromus Battle (FF4),
Boss Battle 1 - AKA Culex's Theme (FF4)
The Opera (FF6),
Searching for Friends (FF6)
All strong contenders :)
Within the Giant too and Coin of Fate, Kids run through the City and Forever Rachel.
Discovered this gem of a video today and I am nearly through this whole Top 100 right now. Such effort. Such nostalgia. Such good taste in music. Also I really like your comments to every single song. Thank you!
I'm so grateful for you including Streets of Rabanastre in the top 5 songs. It's such a beautiful song.
I have been listening to this for the last few weeks an hour or so at a time while opening up my bar. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate the hard work you put into this spectacular list of beautiful music!!!! Thank you!
I've Played Final Fantasy for almost 28 yrs now and I'm speechless. Thank You for this!!!
Missing:
Man with the Machine Gun - FF8
Mount Gulug - FF9
End of story.
You are THE GOAT!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this amazing gift. All the hours of dedication, hours of countless love,. THANK YOU
A good list, but I'm just mad that "FF10 Otherworld", "FF8 Eyes on me", "FF10 Suteki da ne", and "FF15 Hellfire" didn't make it on here.

Most people probably skipped the intro; What an expertly crafted masterpiece, Thanks!!!!!
1)" (as well as my 2nd fave, "Tension") and my fave FF 12 track, "The Cerobi Steppe."
But anyhow, here a few more that would likely be in my top 20:
Opening Theme of FF X-2 (aka "Memory of Lightwaves"): I thought for sure it would be one of the remaining "opening tunes" when you said there were two left.
"The Castle"
It is also clear that you like prog-rock tracks more than me.
I guess we did get our remix 😍 ua-cam.com/video/vS5X57fhEkg/v-deo.html
As a lifelong FF fanatic, watching this video was legitimately one of the finest pieces of content I have ever seen not only in general but for FF content. thank you so much for all of this effort. It has not been wasted or made in vain.
I may be bias because FFX and X-2 were my favorite in the series... to see the ending of X as the #1 made me cry about as hard as finishing the game itself. Thank you.
The added commentary crushes it! I wanna skip ahead to the top 10 but every track is such great nostalgia. Love the production and heart put into EIGHT HOURS. Great stuff.
I listened to this over 2 days while doing some hardcore studying and it was like a best friend. Thank you so much for everything you put into this!

Thank you!
When you make a list so long you defeat the time-stamp guy.
@@lep-mq3ur No problemo! Although I am still not finished.
I really am not sure if I should finish this because some other guy did it for me and was pinned...
@@mrgoodname7297 your work won't be forgotten Sir(・-・)ゞ
Omg Just your INTRO earned you as sub. Holy crap where have you been all my life?? This is amazing!
This is the best love letter to Final Fantasy, one I'll be revisiting time and again. I love the commentary on each piece/song a ton!
Damn this is probably the best ranking of FF songs that I've ever seen. This made my work day so much more enjoyable to get through lol
Goosebumps. So much love in care has been poured down in order to make this video.
Thank you! It's in my favorite list. Not a thing I do easily.
Read all of your comments and was shocked that you would have the energy to make another video like this after putting out this masterpiece. Good on you for having the drive. You are a better person than I.
Thanks for the kind words! It was an enormous undertaking, I'm not sure we will ever make another at this scale. But...maybe!
i see a lot of people complaining but honestly even just seeing the opening with that theme in the background and seeing all of the game titles being cycled through made me tear up- I experienced my first final fantasy content watching my mom play ff7 when i was around 4 years old and have grown up playing and watching these games my whole life. i'm only 19 but this franchise means so much to me and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time and dedication to create this mix
So very well said! "i am just truly grateful that you took the time, energy, and dedication to give this series all the love it deserves." THIS.
For the audio splicing alone you guys already deserve a thumbs up!
I can’t say I agree with some of the decisions made, (Aerith’s Theme in the 30s?!) but you can see all the hard work and affection you guys have for the franchise. Great video!!!
In all honesty, Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core's "The Price of Freedom" is one of my favorite tracks.
I appreciate the tons of hours put into creating this wonderful candy for us FF fans. Having played many FF since childhood i do have some tracks that are my personal favorites, not being found in this top 100, but deffinately deserve a honorable mention here imo!:
#1 FF13 sulyya springs ---> This track is probably one of the most underrated tracks of alltime and in my opinion deserves a #10> spot in any FF music ranking list
#2 FF13LR luxerion (the specific 009 section; luxerion 009)
#3 FF10 someday the dream will end
#4 FF11 sanctuary of zitah
#5 FF8 Fishermans horizon
This is a great list, but as a FFXI and FFXIV fan I wanna complain
1st, FFXI OST is not forgettable. Naoshi Mizuta and Kumi Tanioka did a great job ambienting our journey to Vana'diel
2nd, FFXIV is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger and has really really great tracks, full with energy, with sadness, great songs.
Complaint duly noted.
Huge accomplishment putting this together.
spoilers for the #1 and #2 spots
When I saw one winged angle was in the #2 spot I was really sad because I thought to Zanarkand wouldn't make the list.
That Battle on the Big Bridge compilation got me HYPED!!!! this is the best video on the platform
Saying that FF XI has a forgettable soundtrack is complete heresy, but otherwise a great list!
This is my first time seeing this page but please allow me to thank all who came together ton work on this truly a masterpiece of its own.
been listening while opening work and I made it to number 20 today! Thirty minutes of Chocobo!!! I love it! Thank you!!!!
MY GOD
the amount of love and dedication on this video is just unbelievable, thank you so much for such amazing work, this video is a love letter to gaming history and FF itself. this should get at least 500k views minimum.
oh and the side notes are an absolute 10/10 it enhanced the experience a lot
Agreed! It was good to see the reasoning behind the rankings because it's always interesting to see what facets of the music stick out to people.
Just finished this after watching it over the course of a week with my wife (who I married with FF music playing for the ceremony.) Great work, thanks for your effort. Highlight of our holiday vacation.
This video was a labor of love indeed. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience, which I've enjoyed from the very first second to its last
No "Man With the Machine Gun" is actually criminal! Edit: but great collection overall. I forget how FFX's ending theme always makes me ugly cry lmao
This is amazing and deserves so much more views. I watched it from start to finished and was totally hyped for the top 10. I wasn't expecting the tune at number 1! But I have to admit...I kind of agree. Great stuff.
What a beautiful celebration of Final Fantasy! Thank you so much for all the work you put into this!
Absolutely spectacular piece of work putting this together. Very well done.
With something as subjective as tastes in music it is impossible for us all to agree, but you did an excellent job making this video, your dedication is evident and it was interesting to read your opinion on each song. I had a great time enjoying this video
Still i can't believe that "Dancing Mad" only reached # 23 hahah
Been listening to this in the background and never realised that there are fun facts in the video.
This truly was a big project and was very much worth the effort!
Thanks!
While I certainly do not agree with many of your opinions on the games and some music choices/placements. This did provide a nice nostalgia treat. Thanks for your hard work and some fantastic music arranged so meticulously and carefully. Always nice to see someone else enjoy FF so much and it shows an impact that resonates with such a large audience
This is an amazing list! This deserves WAY more views than it has!
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyuyyyyyyyyyyyyyuyyyuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiub. Aaaaa
everyone complaining there is no this or there is no that ..
You deserve more recognition!
...aaaand it just went nuts on Necron's battle theme. FFIX is my favourite, I can't believe my ears, your work gave me goosebumps. This mix is GOLD.
I'm about halfway. Been listening on and off for weeks. Great for laundry day.
Wow as soon as I heard the cloud of darkness spliced theme I knew this vid was gonna be sick. Thanks for all the hard work
Only thing I'm surprised by is that Aerith's Theme came in at #36. I still remember how evocative it was in her death scene in the original FFVII game. Moved me to tears.
Same...
I'm starting it again! I listened to this whole thing in a few weeks about a year ago while opening up my bar. Here we go again! Great way to start a long work shift!!!! You guys did such a fantastic job putting this together. Thank you so much!!!!
This person put so much into this...phenomenal the writing about the game and the gameplay brings back memories.
Because this list shows the proper respect for FFT, I crown this greatest top list.
