Brought back memories of flying into Boston for 18 years and right over ``Southie`` as its called on last seconds of final approach `. I lived there and loved the Ocean walk around Castle Island. Nice also to see those two Aer Lingus A330`s in striking Kelly green livery as you were parking at 24.20. They ferried me back and forth until my final retirement flight in 2011 back to home in Dublin.
@Corporate Pilot Life some kind of water drop from presumed ceiling 11:34 no bs which makes me wonder if you or the plane is sweating it out. Seriously there was a water drop!
Yeah...the window surround freezes in cruise, then melts on the descent and drips on us a little bit. Most airplanes I've flown do this to some degree.
Many windows have a heating system built in the glass section, so why not heat atleast the exterior of the frame of the window so outside temps don’t interfere? Maybe you could even do a tech day episode on the construction of windows and a small explanation about what caused, and perhaps why the manufacturers allow the water to be a factor in the cabin
Great.video, really busy approach with ATC. Glad you are now able to fly both aircraft hopefully a little flexibility with your home schedule not having to relocate as much.
Nice to see this, and that busy airspace around there is always a trip to fly into. Must admit it's weird seeing you in the Hawker, but wish there was a outside the cockpit view going forward, but imagine camera room is limited in that one, along with the situation of being with a new copilot. Don't know much about the Hawker cockpit though.
AGAIN! SHAWN!! THANK YOU , for letting this old tow trk. driver see Earth in ways Id never see in my life time except for you and your friends !! BLESSED Memorial Day, if you have anyone you are remembering, thanks THOMAS in TUCSON
Another awesome video Sean! I'd like to hear your thoughts on the differences between flying the G4 vs. the Hawker and the pros & cons of each...maybe a topic for a future "Tech Tuesday/VLOG" discussion. Also, Grab us a shot of the outside of the Hawker so we can see that sweet jet up close. Any vids on the compartments, interior, APU, avionics bay, etc., would be awesome. I saw the vid you did on the APU controls/interface, but it would be cool to see the actual installation. Also, is the guy you're flying with now a company check pilot? Will you be left seat going forward, or are you still in the "check-out" phase on the Hawker and you'll go back to right seat once the "check-out" process is complete? Just wondering what to expect going forward in the Hawker. Once again; awesome video!
Those are great ideas that I will definitely be using over the next several weeks. Thank you! They guy I was flying with is the Chief Pilot for Alerion...just worked out that I was with him though. I will be flying from both seats just like in the Gulfstream. Right now, we are pretty heavy on Captains, so it's very normal to have both pilots be captains but only one be assigned as PIC for that trip. Either way, it's pretty normal to have the pilots sway seats each leg or perhaps each day, so you'll see me in both seats going forward.
Even with sunnies the look on your face at 19:45 when everything went black was art! "Please don't do that again!" Bloody instructors! Do all planes use the same voice for RADALT calls??? Even the British?!
Great video Shaun ! Thank you and have an awesome Memorial day . I'm already subscribed to Citation max but thanks for sharing the collaboration. Thank you for your time creating these videos as well brother 😉😁
Nice job! Good video. Would like to encourage you to add comments in future Hawker videos with your impressions on transitioning back into that jet, etc. It’s instructional and entertaining to see how you are approaching and experiencing it! Thx!
I definitely plan to do that. This video was more of a test to see how I liked the angles, then decided to let you guys see it anyhow. I'm glad to be back into the Hawker, and will get you guys more info in it very soon!
See, when you fly the smaller planes, you get to park right up front. It’s good to see the Hawker again, I miss flying them. Then again, being retired, I miss flying everything . LOL
Morning Shaun! What a great way to start my Memorial Day than with a CPL video! As usual another Awesome video! A bit short but I'll take any of them. I'm also subscribed to CitationMax and yes he has some cool videos too! Enjoy your holiday weekend!!!!
That was some serious flying. Any chance we get to see the outside of the aircraft...maybe a tour of everything. You make it look so easy and yet it’s not.
Sweet Landing Shaun! That was CRAZY busy going in there and loosing the dash lights for a second there was excitement you didnt need at that moment lol. That controller seemed like he was trying to steer everyone into the same space at the same time on top of everything else! Great job!
Great video sir ! I’m sure it would be very difficult to try and catch but if at all possible could you try to get footage of the TKS in action ? You the man ! Cheers
Any planned international flights outside the US on schedule in the next weeks? Would really like to see some footage from europe again or south america etc.
Hey Shaun - Great video as always. We have a Hawker 800XP based here at my FBO (ex Travel Management bird) with the PL21, but I never remember to ask the crew, so I'll ask you - Does the Pro Line have a trend line for the speed to help the "Auto Throttle" judge power setting? I've always liked the Hawker (I also understand why many operators got rid of them) so it's cool to see you sharing flying in one for everyone!
LOL I thought when I heard you say "Follow Me Truck" that it was just some amusing nickname for a truck you followed. Didn't realize the truck has a sign that actually says "Follow Me" on it! (I'm not a pilot, as you can surmise)
Beautiful! Now I just have to get *my* bearings in the Hawker cockpit. Any way you can get a high camera looking forward like you had in the G4, or isn’t there a good place to mount one?
It is a great plane to fly. It doesn't operate terribly fast, but gets the mission done almost every time. It's a very mechanical plane, so not alot of electronics controlling things
@@CorporatePilotLife thanks for responding Sean. I thought as much when watching you guys as it appears to be more 'hands on' and required higher level of human intervention. Interesting to hear your feedback. Appreciated.
That would be a water drop. The top edge of the window builds up frost while in cruise, then melts on the descent and drips down a little bit. Most planes I've ever flown do that...Gulfstream as well
So dynamically, how much different is this Hawker v. The GIVSP? Obviously the range isnt there, but to fly by the seat of your pants, is it more responsive to inputs all around, does it have a distinguishing characteristic that makes it a Hawker when you're flying it?
What is your Vfe 40 or full flap speed for that hawk? First time I came in on ROBUC 3 arrival I had to hold at PROVI. Super busy. KBOS sux. I’m glad you don’t have a single pilot operation for that mess.
Corporate Pilot Life that is my goal to have ultimate mastery of all the required modalities of the type assigned. Flying the SIDs and STARs have never been easy for me when the air traffic is in complete saturation. Having another competent pilot to share the work load seems to take more that half the stress away.
Great vid (as usual)! Out of curiosity....do you more or less like the control yoke on the Hawker (bicycle style) vs. the more traditional yoke on the G4?
I would say I am more used to the Gulfstream yoke, so that's probably my preference, but the Hawker Ramhorn yoke is quite comfortable as well. Just depends on what you're used to
The cockpit doesn't seem as camera friendly, it would be nice to see a central, over both pilots' shoulders view... Maui Jim owe you bigtime for some extreme product placement! 8-)
Great vid! Nice to see a different platform, but ill always be a Gulfstream guy at heart! Was that handle you cranked and locked back after u set the TR’s on landing a manual speed break? Just curious never seen that before! Always learn somethin new on ur channel!
I agree...I'll always be Gulfstream at heart as well. That lever is the speed brakes, but when you pull it back and down, it goes into Lift Dump which puts the flaps to 75 degrees. It really slows the plane down after landing...
Corporate Pilot Life very cool! Makes for an extra step in the la ding process that looks stressful, but u def nailed it! Still interesting how diff platforms work! Thx for the reply!
Turn left on 33 right then turn left. That would confuse the heck out of me. Nice greaser on the landing Shaun. How do ya like flying the Hawker? The auto pilot disconnect sounds a lot like greg’s premier.
Nice video as usual!!! I'm wondering though, how do you feel about the M shaped yoke? I feel like it would be weird to go from a W shaped to an M shaped. It looks like riding a bike. Your thoughts?
When I first started flying the Hawkers, it was a little strange, but it's surprisingly comfortable and easy to fly with. I got used to it in about 3 flights...now it's completely normal to fly either.
I'm trying to figure out what was going on there. That's the standby attitude indicator. It doesn't actually do that. I think the refresh rate of that screen was a little different than the camera so it looked like it was dimming on the video
Yep...that is the speed brakes. Right after landing, we pull that back and down to engage the Lift Dump system to help slow us down. I think I'll do a Tech Tuesday video on that...
As we climb, we transition from indicated airspeed to Mach speed. Then back on the descent. Sometimes they will assign a mach number then transition to a specific indicated airspeed

That final approach was intense! Great video, Shaun.
AWESOME video!! You got the Hawker Jet in your set of tools now. Congratulations, Shaun!!
nice view of Blue Hills turning final then the Gas tank in Dorchester lining up for 4L. Nice flight Shaun.

yes indeed!
Looked like a beautiful morning to fly! Enjoyed the camera angle, wouldn’t mind seeing the same when sitting in the right seat. Blue skies...
I think I can make that happen...thank you!
Nice to see citationmax!
When the lights went out on the instrument panel was interesting. Shaun " Oh! "
Yeah...that was fun for a second...LOL
Stay calm and fly the aircraft and this is what it's all about listening and answers with ATC communication
Textbook flight! Great job Shaun!
Great flying by the both of you Gentleman
Nice landing and great video looked like you got just a little of the wake turbulence off the airbus
yeah...just a little bump

Yes! More Hawker vids, please.
More to come...
So cool to see you in a new aircraft! You did a great job, going into a busy airport!! Happy landings.
Need to add the display lighting test to the landing check list to avoid future surprises... 😉😂

A+ Shaun!!! Thanks!!! 👍👍👍
Love to see the taxi parking!
Nice work. 👍
More vids of outside the plane...what a Hawker looks like.. and some of the good looking, uptight cabin wenches. Other than that, nice video.
Bradley approach! You’re right in my neighborhood bro
That was some serious flying. Any chance we get to see the outside of the aircraft...maybe a tour of everything.

Hey corporate guy! Do you ever see the white cape air 402 around Logan? That's me! Haha I'm sure I've seen you land there before!! Cheers!
Great vid Shaun! So good to see another flight! Hawker n G4 rated! Very cool! Have a great weekend!
Good job as always!
the yokes are a lot different than on the gulfstream and it looks cramped but that maybe the camera
It is tighter than the Gulfstream, but the camera angle makes it look worse than it really is
Busy, Busy ,Busy, around Boston!
Great job Shaun. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks...you as well!
Very nice. Awwww you have a new friend
Very nice!
Sweet Landing Shaun! That was CRAZY busy going in there and loosing the dash lights for a second there was excitement you didnt need at that moment lol.
That controller seemed like he was trying to steer everyone into the same space at the same time on top of everything else! Great job!
I would think Logan is a hassle for a corp jet and Hanscom is the preferred airport.
It's not too bad...
Logan isn't a hassle, just very expensive.
I thought my Boston accent was strong, but man, that tower controller.....Hold short of Novembah
HAHAHA!! I thought the same thing!

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that...I certainly love Gulfstream as well. It does have a heavy control feel though...
@@CorporatePilotLife Well, you're the actual pilot. I'm just the dreamer lol
Hi Shaun... the camera out of the front was fantastic quality on this trip... is it a new one?
Still the HERO 7 Black, but I'm using some different color grading in the post-processing. Glad to hear it looks good!
What is your Vfe 40 or full flap speed for that hawk?
First time I came in on ROBUC 3 arrival I had to hold at PROVI. Super busy. KBOS sux. I’m glad you don’t have a single pilot operation for that mess.

ANOTHER AWESOME VIDS. THANKS
Very nice flight! Been watching for a couple of years. My first question for you -- what watch are you wearing? Is this the only watch you have? Ciao!
I have a few watches, but this one is my favorite. This is a Breitling Navitimer World Boutique Edition.
Did you show the link to the vlog of the guy you were walking in the park with? I've seen him before but can't remember his name.
I completely forgot to add it in...it's in the description now
Love It
The cockpit doesn't seem as camera friendly, it would be nice to see a central, over both pilots' shoulders view... Maui Jim owe you bigtime for some extreme product placement! 8-)
The Hawker is certainly less camera friendly. I have some ideas of how to get the camera over our center shoulders though
The Hawkers Cockpit looks smaller then the Gulfstream?

Great video, Shaun! Question: do you use a Hawker-provided checklist or a FlightSafety checklist approved for use in the Hawker?
These are the approved ones from CAE. One of our Hawkers have electronic checklists on the MFD
Turn left on 33 right then turn left. That would confuse the heck out of me. Nice greaser on the landing Shaun. How do ya like flying the Hawker? The auto pilot disconnect sounds a lot like greg’s premier.
That one made me think too! I enjoy flying the Hawker...much lighter on the controls.
Nice video :)
Did you land on friday? I was spotting there friday and im wondering if I had captured your plane.
Sorry, but this was a little over a week ago.
Great, going to have to find some better camera angles though.
Yeah...the Hawker has been tough to mount the cameras without blocking our view
Any chance of not masking the call sign in future videos?
Jeffrey Lawson the company he flys with now has asked him to edit their call sign out.
We're working on ways around that restriction, but for now, I have to edit them out
What's the wheel you're adjusting on the guidance panel?
That's probably the vertical speed wheel you saw me scrolling
So let me understand the Hawker is not as advance as the G4 ?
These Hawkers have much more advanced avionics, but system wise, I would say the Gulfstreams are more capable
Looks like you’re having fun in a Hawker!
Oh yeah...
What model Hawker?
This one is an 800XP, but we also operate a 900XP
Doesn’t the Hawker use more fuel than the Gulfstream?
Quite the opposite...the Gulfstream uses much more than the Hawker
Shaun,
Loved it.
Good view, lots of cockpit room, great interaction between you both.
One heck of a busy airport!
Until next time,
Cheers,
Rik Spector
What was the screen that kept dimming and returning
I'm trying to figure out what was going on there. That's the standby attitude indicator. It doesn't actually do that. I think the refresh rate of that screen was a little different than the camera so it looked like it was dimming on the video
Gotcha Thank You
What model Hawker was that? -800XP?
Yep! We also have a 900XP
That was kinda of a weird cockpit camera angle.
Yeah...mounting cameras in the Hawker is a bit of a challenge. I'm working on some better angles. for future videos
Boston is a busy place and a pain to get around the way the runways are. Plus “massport” fees are unbearable. Better off landing in Hanscomb field
Gulfstream yoke 👍👍👍
I noticed a handle next to the throttle,,,Is that the speed brake? Very nice flight. Great job on landing.
Yep...that is the speed brakes. Right after landing, we pull that back and down to engage the Lift Dump system to help slow us down. I think I'll do a Tech Tuesday video on that...
That was a guess on my part. I saw you engaged it right after nose wheel touchdown.
I am not ifr rated, what is transition?
As we climb, we transition from indicated airspeed to Mach speed. Then back on the descent. Sometimes they will assign a mach number then transition to a specific indicated airspeed
@@CorporatePilotLife Is each transition named? I have heard the , for example, the Tampa transition.
