Stats like "hasn't lost a best of 5 vs protoss in 11 years" is SOOOO CRAZY!!!
but it's kind of misleading because no bo5 vs protoss happened during a large stretch of those 11 years
and I say this as a Flash fan
Yeah that doesn't mean he hasn't lost a bo3 or bo7 so a little misleading.
@@Rev0ltTTVi think it includes best of 7
Dude, YES. The old intros were soooo badass. Like, yeah the first time you see it its kinda goofy (especially if you started early with the spacesuits LOL), but once you started to follow the scene closer, seeing these players in showdown intros, PL intros showcasing their aces.. goddamn was it glorious
Bro 2007 EVER OP was the best. So great!
You are one of the funniest commentator and entertainer, we need more Starcraft history lessons about old players
Might I suggest www.youtube.com/@StarcraftHistorian ? There are a ton of interviews and a lot of them are really interesting, though most of the pro players are SC2 I think.
Reading someone referring to flash as a old player made me realise my own mortality
daigo parry was the first time chun li's super had been full parried in a major tournament. It's why Wong used it to begin with, he didn't thing daigo had the nerves left to full parry it, and his nerves were shot he wanted to end it.
JWong still became a legend despite his loss, you now have to beat him to get pvp cred online lol.
There's a full write up in the comments of the evo moment 37 video.
As someone would say, this Flash vs Snow in ASL5 gave me chills.
Still can't believe that Flash won on Sparkle.
Plot twist: The tournament organizers heard that Flash was losing motivation, so they came up with the map pool in order to re-motivate him.
The craziest part of this story to me is how the community just accepted this as a necessary action. Rigging the maps against Flash would be like the mlb deciding shohei ohtani is too good, and making him hit with a weighted bat. Or fifa deciding that messi is too good, and making him play with weighted clothes. If either of those scenarios happened, people would lose their minds. But when it happened to flash, everyone was like: "yeah, he's too good, this makes the game better."
It's even crazier than that, because the nerf was automatically applied to ALL Terran players!
Free throw rules were changed because of some players was it maybe like Larry Bird being able to dunk on free throws?
sadly the guy in the video didn't cover that part where Flash was so tired of dominating that he played random in ASL and still ended up 3? or 4?
it's impressive but it's not like he was championship level with all three races. he was seeded into the Ro16 and mostly won by abusing the fact that his opponents didnt know what race he was
@@priontv5228 agree, but imo still impresive on that level and was boring to watch him win with terran again:)
@@priontv5228not exactly true, he won a bunch of matchups like PvP in games where the opponent got first scout…
@@qcdoomqcwow, this proves he was a bad ass. Haters always hating.
@@priontv5228 "Abusing" cmon that is the point of playing random
Flash welcoming the map pool "rigging" as a chance to prove nothing can stop him is the most bad-ass gamer move I have ever heard of. and really shows how solid his Character is.
He truly is the Greatest.
And then he decided it was still not enough and went random!
Definitely love this sorta stuff from Tasteless. I remember checking several years ago and both his and Artosis's UA-cam channels were established but didnt post consistently. Cool to see them both doing well with it now. Make sure not to burn yourself out man!
So basically Flash is the Wilt Chamberlain of e-sports.
Tasteless would you ever consider doing a videos about excellent games/series from previous years? I'd love to watch a compilation of the old really excellent games like the Flash vs Snow series you talked about.
Seconded
Thirded
Even a top 10 video that actually dissects a bit of the game and why it's a fav
LOOOVE the idea of you commentating "old classic" from the early eras! -> including Boxer replays (which is later ofc)
Oh man this is one of the few times I've seen someone give Last his flowers. That guy is definitely underrated
Nice man. We need more of these videos. Starcraft history is rly interesting.
I would love more history of the older players, especially Boxer and Savior.
Idk how boxer isn't consider the goat instead of flash... Most of the Terran tech that flash used and abused was literally invented by boxer
Flash’s lost run of dominance was crazy back in the day. The only time you’d see him lost was to crazy cheeses in bo1 games.
That final proleague finals which went to game 7 ACE match between Flash and Bisu was just crazy. Still gives me goosebumps to this day.
Tasteless story time is best time.
Flash is so insanely good! I was able to see his Season 4 ASL finals win live in Seoul, it was amazing to be at the tournament!
Tasteless, your history videos and humour make you an absolute top tier rts esports legend. I absolutely love these videos, you´re filling a huge info gap us nerds. Thank you!
I would love to see videos about battle reports as a way to make SC history more accessible
Really loving these reaction videos Tasteless! You have such a unique experience and perspective on Starcraft that it's always interesting to hear.
Really enjoying your "stories and history of StarCraft/eSports" style of videos
I’m loving these videos btw giving some behind the scenes cool stories about StarCraft and the Korean scene please keep making more of these
I paused the video instantly when I realized I haven't seen the flash Vs snow game, went over to afreecatv and watched it, those games were amazing
That was a cool reaction vid. I never got into competitive BW cuz it was all in Korean so thanks for giving a lot of context!
Didn’t know about the tournament organizers’ attempts to nerf Flash. Reminds me of early 2000s professional golf where the PGA/USGA “Tiger-proofed” courses to try to even the playing field.
Funny thing is it was so short sighted as it only gave him even more of an edge on the field. If you make the course longer then the guy hitting it further is obviously even better off.
72% and an 11 year win streak against a Bo5 against protoss is absolutely INSANE. It's a shame that Flash couldn't win that round against Snow because that would have been a big FU to ASL.
I'm gonna go watch some more Flash games and watch Tastless/Artosis nerd over Brood War. It's one of my favorite things ever.
Great video, thanks for the commentary - always appreciate your personal input Tasteless!
About the tendons, I realized this through various injuries over the years or working out. If you make a tight fist you can see your rear upper arm clench as well. I had a fall injury above my elbow over a month ago and it took weeks to get my proper grip back. Muscles get complicated.
I came here to see if anyone else noticed the narrator of the flash video continually called the game Brood Wars.
*shudders*
I'm proud of tasteless knowing some anatomy :)
I like this type of content. It's good to know your views on the history of SC2 etc. Much love from Brazil
The narrator kept saying “Brood Wars” so he can go kick rocks with no shoes on
i also really loved the intros from TSL, (tsl3 i think?), for a foreign made thing that was awesome ... and now i feel old remembering it
Great vid! would like more of this type of content
Oof, Roadrunner. I remember that. I think that was the first "Post 56k" "Broadband" our house had.
I remember the battle reports from era and the Agent911, zileas, xds ~grrr games.
i will always remember the hype you generated for the game nada played in the asl , nada trying to make his mark by countering larva's turtle into ultra strategy with nukes and almost barely getting the win vs a calibur of player who would later become an asl champion himself , truly modern history we are living through , just wish he could have made it back into asl some more times since then :c ....
I was following the "Korea time" streams back when Flash was first on the rise. It was no shit like watching a legendary pro athlete emerge and stake his claim. The hype was incredible
Good shit Tasty. Glad you're doing well. OGN comment made me smile. God damn were those intros fucking amazeballs.
I'm really enjoying your takes regarding these stories. Thanks for breaking the fourth wall.
I remember Flash's short time in SC2 and making a top 4 in GSL thinking he was going to just dominate that game as well.
Loving this content, thanks Tasteless!
During the peak of SC BW, the best players would have 55% to 60% winrates. Teams had so many players, if you were able to win 55% of your games, they would always play you during proleague. If not, you were rotated out by someone who was able.
"history been made" 😂
Daigos moment is still ridiculous even if Japanese were doing that at arcades because he did it live, while Justin was smashing and making noise, and in the semi finals!
Is there a vod anywhere of you casting that flash vs snow BO5 ?
My boy effort not getting a mention for ruining flash’s plans
Flash was so strong that the only thing that could stop him was himself selling crypto scams to his fans.
Jinro popped off, MC, parting I loved that era!
2007 EVER StarLeague Opening was the best.
I was so sad when Jaedong got stomped by flash over and over in 2010.
Not played a single BW game, give me more Videos like this! :D
Really loving these reaction videos lately!
"Brood Wars" started to bug me a bit lol
This is great. Thanks for being the best BW caster by far!
5:07 Your the best , Flash !
Daaamn dude cool story, I never knew this was going on
Thanks 4 the vid G
More reaction and reflection videos on SlayerS Boxer, Flash and Savior please!
shit man this kind of video take back so hard i remeber the GOM invitational where flash beat boxer and i was like damn that kid is good
Dude, battle reports! OMG, me and my friends used to read these all the time!
if you ever need help with any injury tasteless. I m a DPT with years of experience treating athletes and a previous powerlifting coach. Happy to explain things or help for free. Considering all the content I have consumed its the least I can do.
Thanks for the vidja Tasteless.
Flash was amazing. I hope when he end his service he will be able to do things he enjoys.
If that is StarCraft then BULLY FOR US!
Peaceful Skies.
When youre so good your fans root against you.
Flash is only now rivaled by Tetris Kid, both are contextually out of our concept of skill.
watch that EVER StarLeague 2007 Opening intro again. I dare you to not get hype. Maybe do a Tier list video of the intros ? lol
Been following the pro BW scene since like 2005-2006. I really hope Flash is able to come back in the next few years but I don't expect it - age and injury eventually catch up to us all.
You should take the title of "GOD" more serious.
Content like the last two videos: story time for your experiences in the gaming world as a caster. Infinitely more interesting than a StarCraft cast although I will always love StarCraft!
Flash was paid by africa. He didnt reviled details but flash said some other streaming company approach to him but africa's deal was the another level.
Thanks for the content
FlaSh not only holds a 70% winrate. He dominated the sport for over a decade. Yes his SC2 years weren't as succesful but his first premier wins were from 2008 and his last were in 2019. Imagine in any other sport being dominant for that long!
Serral dominating has nothing to do with his skill, but that 99 percent have retired and 1 percent just casually play, while some tryhard finish guy still plays.
Great video!!!
2:40 I miss proleague so much, such nerd chills hearing those asian girls scream as flash wins
The Daigo clip was never about him doing something new, unheard of, etc. It was just that he pulled it off in a tournament at the most crucial moment. It was simply extremely hype. Not really the best display of skill in particular.
Really interesting!
You may want to not pause the video *quite* as much. There's a couple spots where you pause and play the video less than 10 seconds apart multiple times. Makes it kind of hard to follow and seem a bit scatterbrained. Also, you want to be sure that if you're going to pause the video that there is a specific reason for what you're going to say, and not just a random thought.
Yeah I found it annoying. Had to go find the original video instead
That's how I normally go about "react" content. It's extremely rare that I actually care to listen to someone breakdown a YT video or whatever. Unless that person has further knowledge beyond the video, like in this case. Even then though, I usually go find the original video and watch it first.
I'm surely the only one that remembers Grrrrrrr. The memories!
I do also.. dominant protoss player till boxer
Omg xds grrr is a name i haven't heard in a long time
Is there anyone who has explained why some maps favour some races much more than others?
time to watch it again I suppose.
The source video is a bit superficial but it's mostly accurate.
Flash will always be unique
Serral is the flash of sc2
I love gossip
Flash wins another ASL
Other terrans: "ah shit here we go again"
Life was the best SC2 player of all time, sad he got in jail.
Snow is way better now
What about boxer
Why does the video not go up to his random run? =(
can someone link lasts youtube?
MORE STARCRAFT HISTORY LESSONS
Did they force him to play random during his last bw tourney?
Nice. And good night. ❤
Do you miss Artosis?
love history
What happen to Idra?
Why does that guy keep saying Brood Wars its driving me crazy its Brood War not plural
Love you tasteless Been watching since 2009
