Game 2 of Reynor vs Gumiho was really decided by upgrades. Gumiho was on 3/3 for his mech while reynor had 1/1 ranged and 0 damage upgrades for the lings and only in the lategame started researching +1 and attackspeed.
Why didn't Reynor try for the base trade in game 2 against Gumiho? Once you're at the opponent's doorstep, you can't turn back with those Broods. Gotta destroy the Terran's base and try to defend with your other forces.
but yeah, I think Reynor wasn't feeling it today, we usually see him bounce on his favorite hip hop but now he did not look that confident, his games vs gumiho were ok but vs herO he looked like the worse player, and it is ashame because it was probably nerves or just being in a not so good state of mind that got to him. I hope we can see a better Reynor next time ♥ That said, I have to also give kudos to the koreans, herO played very well with his micro and early game, gumiho realized when to base trade, etc.

KR Zerg in general has a strong timing against Mech player, they will hit with Queen drop and Roach Ravager, similar to what Reynor did in game 2 but with even sharper timing. KR Terran was playing Mech occasionally and the Zerg players got their prepped build for that. Reynor would almost never play against such build in EU, where most Terran playing Bio.

Spoilers!! So sad for Reynor, now 1-8* in GSL. Game 2 was just disgusting. Cant tell if its nervs, or what. But the Early game meta is SO aggressive in Korea, and a lot of his calls while casting and plays he made just didnt work. He called for Broodlords while casting, but they arguably lost him the game chasing Cyclones. Also, maybe HerO was listening when Reynor said EU meta is late Spores for more Queens while casting because he got Oracled to death. Hope he stays around for the next and (possibly again) last GSL season, or gets into casting! Another week of great games! This year of GSL has been 10/10
He is not 0-8. He did win 1 map previous time. Don't think he made exactly bad calls during casting, those were different games, But certainly his plays in his own games didn't work out.
@d4slaimless I never said they were "bad" calls, just that they didn't really fit, EU and KR have different metas. He obviously knows way better then me but - Specifically remember him saying Spores aren't needed just good queen micro, and hero went fast SG both games which did well. But true - he did win 1 vs DRG last time he entered. 1-8 still isn't very convincing for other Foreigners to have a good chance, since Reynor beats 99% of them.
As expected, Reynor played poorly. Surprised casters didn't mention it especially in GM1, very timid and indecisive. I guess something about Korea or the GSL stage?

Why didn't Reynor try for the base trade in game 2 against Gumiho? Once you're at the opponent's doorstep, you can't turn back with those Broods. Gotta destroy the Terran's base and try to defend with your other forces.
everytime I battlemech the zergs always respond correctly with infestor yet Reynor didn't do that until the match was basically over, lmao.
I love Starcraft!! GSL FOREVER!!
I've never seen that many cyclones in 1 game and im coming from bronze league
Love the respect Soo has for Serral!
but yeah, I think Reynor wasn't feeling it today, we usually see him bounce on his favorite hip hop but now he did not look that confident, his games vs gumiho were ok but vs herO he looked like the worse player, and it is ashame because it was probably nerves or just being in a not so good state of mind that got to him. I hope we can see a better Reynor next time ♥
That said, I have to also give kudos to the koreans, herO played very well with his micro and early game, gumiho realized when to base trade, etc.
I think Reynor was much more nervous in previous GSL that he played. He was making mistakes that he didn't do today. But something else might have been off, as indeed Hero just crashed him.
@@d4slaimless Reynor mis-read the build and react the wrong way in most of the situation. He didnt make Roach against mass Zealot Archon push, then he try to block the Nexus and fail. Against Gumiho he went for BLord-Corruptor-Infestor against BC-Thors which is a no-no. And then he went Blord again into mass Helion/Cyclone mobility and got countered to death.
@@tigera6 I didn't mean that he didn't make mistakes in general. What i meant is previous time it was things like lings running into the wall of main base with no purpose. Units out of place/position. In this regard he played better.
As for his decisions, were not the best, certainly. Infestors could have worked though,
Hero is supper good only not steady, his peak is above every player even when toss is the most unbalanced he can play toe to toe with anyone. Reynor didnt play bad today, its just gumiho dont apply to euro-logic of sc2.
So sad for Reynor. Hope he has a better run next season.
"We're speed running it man!" *checks video length* *Shocked Pikachu face*
I hope this means he gets to cast next game
the Italian shrimp goes home early, again.
😆😆😆
Seems like the koreans really wanted to make a statement to foreigners in general. In true tournament style format, koreans are still premier over the world.
"Zings" great nickname for them.
Gumigod killed His own medivac xD with one Marine in IT.
3:18:45 Tasteless forgot that queens can't transfuse out of creep.
People are always saying Maru is only the greatest GSL player of all time, but I don't see any non-Koreans doing very well in this format. Not convinced Serral is the GOAT. Maybe the best IEM player.
That was Reynor casting in the last video? I did turn it to mute, I'm an old crotchety old man. I'm here for Tasteless at this point, haha.
Gumnho sending those marauders to top was complete missread
Ah, so we do get non-windowed version, good.
great sets, good music this season too
who would have thought there'd be a day terran pump out mass cyclones in midgame.
Serral should come to Korea and play in the GSL too!
Why does GuMiho go only mech against Raynor but not soO? Maybe that's why he lost for not changing it up.
That's the strategy and preparation. GuMiho thought that his winning probability is much higher when he uses bio against soO.
What is happening in this season? Last group, I see BCs in pro matches, and now swarm hosts? This is giving me hope lol. As well as Creator's playstyle in the last group being very similar to my own protoss gameplay.
2:13:20 More like CYCLONOLOGY ready!
3:05:50 I like how they both just totally ignore that.
WHERE IS SERRAL?
Could really use timestamps in these vods
They also upload each match as its own video
I would also recommend the sponsorblock browser extension, which crowd-sources info about segments of the video and can often help you skip the intermissions between games and stuff
@@DFGdanger thank you, sir or madam!
Maru and Raynor both cursed. both couldn't win overseas.
Yo wtf happened to Reynor?? I feel like wasn’t that long ago he was up there with Serral
last time, he was 0-2, 0-2 as well. I guess he'll never win a game in GSL
3:05:00 Screw you, traitorous medivac! GuMiho knows what you've been up to.
1-8 still isn't very convincing for other Foreigners to have a good chance, since Reynor beats 99% of them.
you gotta also mention Scarlett famously off racing as Protoss and beating (DRG?)
If we are talking about Scarlett, she RECALLED her broodlords in one of her recent games. That was so cool to watch.
😢❤
As expected, Reynor played poorly. Surprised casters didn't mention it especially in GM1, very timid and indecisive. I guess something about Korea or the GSL stage?
Koreans are amazing
Gogo zergz
Mario and Luigi were finally alone
lmao "budget serral." well played reynor
If Reynor, the second best foreign Z, did decently in GSL, there would be an argument that Serral would be able to dominate here.
I dont think get last place in the group and couldnt win a single map is considered as "did decently in GSL". But Serral is a whole different animal.
I don't think any zerg can do well right now.
@@tommywatson1527 man you realise that you’re commenting on a video where soO just advanced, right?
Could anyone explain to me why Raynor is saying on his stream that you have to go lurker every game against protoss as well as never get banelings because banelings are the worst unit in the game then proceeds to do the opposite of that.
Maybe Hero was in his chat and he was mind gaming him
Why would you retreat with those brood lords? They spent so much time doing absolutely nothing.
"Buff Toss" ... Kappa
Unironically buff Protoss more 😊
OMG aaaaaaaaaaaa dudessss
3:19:00 State forgot queen cant transfuse off creep -____-
Once serral is gone blizzard will have to buff Zerg for the next 10 years.
You would say the same if Dark or Reynor win the next premiere tournament?
Yeah zerg is so bad now. No zergs can compete.
@@tommywatson1527 What are you talking about? Soo just advance , and we still have Dark Rogue Solar yet to play their groups. Unless its Maru or herO, who are stopping the Zerg?
@@tigera6 Rogue is in the military
@@CSHummer Hes been back for about 2 months and currently playing in GSL.
3:05:51 wtf just happened?
Gumichoke
HE FORGOT NEEB!!!
Reynor who???
2:05:40 "Weekend format" meme again. You guys realize Reynor is in a foreign country trying to beat a tight knit group at what they do best. The mental edge to the home team is massive.
So, if you make that excuse for foreigners in Korea, same thing should be said for Koreans in EU right?
It's so hard to go there and just dominate on someone else's home turf?
@@SsSHardt I dunno, does that happen? How about neutral ground? Don't think Koreans dominate there
@@chir0pter there is no neutral ground is it?
And weekend format vs a prep tournament is a big difference. You can't just put your head in the sand and ignore it.
lmao u sound like u just started watching starcraft 2 1 week ago with this awful take
@@dumbocow Cope more
poor reynor men xd hero is just such a beaaast
Is Reynor partying a bit too hard in those korean nightclubs?
8% win was way to high for raynor. Why he was picked second. serral would get destroyed in the gsl.
I am very happy about the outcome but I do feel for Reynor getting 0-4'd and playing by far the worst of all the players in each game. Still far more happy for Soo to finally get past the round of 16
He was better than Gumiho. Terran won those games because Zerg has been nerfed to the ground thanks to the "balances" around Serral's dominating performances.
@@OnigoroshiZero then how did Soo 4-1Gumiho on the very same day? Its pretty stupid to just blame Zerg nerf everytime Zerg player lost. Solar 4-1 Gumiho in the GSL Final last year, with the same patch minus the slight Infestor nerf, Reynor was outplayed, deal with it.
Good attempt from Reynor, but GSL is the highest lvl of tournament for a reason. The studying the prep Koreans will outpace u in that.
Hm, having State disagree with everything Tasteless says isn't a good look for a cast.
terrible reynor 😢
