Subscribed man, really enjoying these headrush vids, as an aspiring world class bedroom guitarist (lol) I've been seriously considering this bit of kit, and seeing what you can do and how you can shape the sound, has been a massive eye opener! And will hopefully mean i'm a little less lost when I purchase it haha.
This is the part where I think they oversimplified it. I would like to have control on where the spilt begins and how many blocks each branch will have. But anyway, it's a great resource for exquisite effects.
True, but I also think they kept it simple to start and seem to be a company that actively looks for user feedback…and configuring the two scenes per stomp seems to be what they’ll be focusing on.
The Splitting DOES work great for effects driven rigs. It can really clean up a rig if modulation effects are getting muddied. Or if you just like the visual of a two separate loops. I got a cool Harmonic Trem type sound using it.
The path that splits at input lets you run dirt (think Octavia or a gnarly fuzz) on one path and run the other path clean and then sum into an amp and get the mammoth dirt of a huge fuzz and the articulation of a clean signal. Add that the Headrush allows you to mix the signal to taste from each side means you can go 60/40, 70/30, etc each between clean/dirty, and your expression pedal trick gives you so much room to play.
I know this is an older video, but is it possible to use this in a scenario where you can have one rig/path outputting to one of the outputs, and one to the other? I am looking to run two amps with my bass VI; a bass amp and a guitar amp. I'd like to be able to switch between the two depending on what role I'm playing on a song-to-song basis. Will this let me have some 'bass' rigs going to one amp, and 'guitar' rigs going to another, and the ability to switch between them?
I'm stiil using my Headrush Pedalboard for clarity of tones, routing, looper, and ease of use... Been thinking about the gt1000-core for it's plethora of more advanced capabilities, but the interface seems tedious and I can't give up the line level conversion... I may end up using both in my rig...
I use HeadRush, GT-1000 & GT-1000Core. The GT routing is amazing. Like anything there is a learning curve. I definitely recommend tweaking on the computer using Tone Studio software rather than using the screen. They all have their pros & cons, but they’re all great!
Is the split really limited to 3 blocks? So you couldn't, for example, have a fuzz split into stereo with two amp+cab combos and several (at least two) different effects on each side? That is a shame. I assume it's the same on the MX5?
@@DaveWebbMusic turns out we're wrong. I got the MX5, and if you use the routing with the split in the middle, you can put a fuzz first, then a 2x amp block, then a 2x cab block (before or after the split), and have three separate effects on each side. (Make sure that it's panned hard left/right, obviously)

That’s awesome! Thanks for watching and joining the channel.
I will do my best to keep bringing you useful and enjoyable vids. Happy jamming dude!
That's a really good Petrucci patch, instantly noticed it.
Thanks man. I’ll be doing video on this one soon. 🤘🏼

So just to confirm this is splitting the left and right outputs to mono?

Thanks for the comment! Some really good points here. 🤘🏼

Dave great video! I always wondered how I could use those other rig configurations.. still confusing to me though
The one example I didn’t do (and probably should have) is a “wet/dry” effects example on the first split. Might shoot that as an addition to this.

Unfortunately yeah. That being said, there is still so much you can do with this. I’m still learning something new all the time.

Where can I get the rug you are using DW Petrucci?
Oh you like it?? That’s cool. I might put together a pack and include it 🤘🏼
@@DaveWebbMusic yes! That would be great.
what do you have your Headrush on, on your desk
It’s a laptop stand
What app do you use to setup the pedalboard on your phone?
There is no app for the Pedalboard. I’m using that phone to record the screen.
Do the mx5 has a signal path?
Yes. All HeadRush boards have the same layout and signal paths. 🤘🏼
