Not sure how I found your channel, but glad I did. I've watched all of this build so far, and even went back and watched some older stuff too. Good to see a decent UK automotive channel. You can consider me a lifelong subscriber.
Good job your doing but was wondering if car needs to be on level to get right gear box oil level. Just mentioned it as the car was jacked up at front wen u done so. 👍
Nice work Steve That pump you chucked in the bin was ok I have the same one and unless the oil is warm it won’t run through the pump , anyway looking forward to what nexts Cheers Phil
More good progress mate💪Bet you were itching to just a wee bit up the road on the test drive! Great feeling when the car starts coming together. Looking forward to next time👍 Your channels great for blokes like me rolling about under cars on the driveway/ in the freezin shed as can relate to it👍
Amg cant wait to see you on the track. Great natrual content creator but not just the vids, you clearly get your real chill attitude to life from them. Please stay true to yourself when the fame comes. Meantime really enjoying your vids.
sweet video! one thing, i'd check the gearbox level again when it's on the flat, the angle the car is at will mean it's over full. i'm not sure if it is bad to have them over full or not, but it's best to be right!
Gearbox oil is probably too much for that little pump, especially when cold. I’ve got the same one and it won’t do cold 5w30 but hot it can just about handle it. Not easy to get it to bleed air out so it can pump too. Worth a punt for the money though
Loving the videos Mate just watched a load of them and you lucky man you got a bargain at that price on the st worth more in parts than that well done mate
You're doing it smart. If you want to upgrade, do it while you have it apart. So much easier. You're not restoring it. You're making something a bit more fun. It sounds great. The engine is in fine shape.
Steve, I have the same pump. It might still be ok. They are not intended to be lift pumps so it might have been struggling being above the oil. Great mini-series by the way 👌
Keep the good work up merry Christmas. Liked that video you did of the trip to Germany to the nurburgring wont to do it myself and its good the see how much it's going to cost roughly.
Sounds alright with a stock exhaust and sports cat. Good to see it drivng. I know you didn't go far but I assume it felt alright, steering, brakes after a bit, gearbox etc. I love a good back yard project.
As u said with checking diff, my audi drive shaft come undone, put a hair line crack in the gearbox invisible from the outside part from a small damp, not wet patch, Fin killed ma gbox between services oil didn't stick or run on box cos air flow blew it away and was always wet on that side from shit desinge of rocker gadget, all caused by shaft dropping off at 30mph and stopped car in less than 30meters
This has to be one of the best video series on here, love the fact you are sorting this in your back garden, getting wet and lying on the floor. Mega satisfaction for you when you get it complete, quick question tho are you an actual mechanic or just an advanced hobbyist. I so want to try this. Will you give us a breakdown of cost once it's complete. Keep up the good work man thumbs up
Another great Video! Merry Xmas To you and the family! You'll prob get the EML on soon with the sport CAT and standard map. But I guessing you know already. Cheers mate! Look forward to the next video! So inspiring.
Hi Steve can I ask what oil you used in the gear box as looking at doing a change on my fiesta but want to make sure I have the right oil. Cheers. Keep up the good work
First Car fixer on UA-cam that I have liked and watched every episode from 1 to 6, is there a 7 yet? Thank you Steve, as for the rain, you must live in Wales? Never mind ist's a cracking country.
Steve have loved watching you rebuild the Fiesta but just worried have you ever heard of a torque wrench ? they recommend using one for good reasons, also why did you not renew the notoriously weak bottom roll restrictor/ motor mount while you had the chance too ?
Are they directional tyres ? My OCD kicked in on that near side front 😫 but so sick to see you’ve got it running mate! Haven’t seen this done before and it’s been great to watch!
thank you, yes they are directional but they were only for a test run so wasnt to worried about direction. i did kinda like the wheels though so may keep them. thanks for watching
How much gearbox oil did you put in Steve, I filled mine up until it weeped from the filler hole at first and that held around 2.2l but had to drain out around .5l later on as I found they should be filled with 1.67l and not to the point they dribble out of the fill hole like most fords.
Love the series so far and looking forward to the next ep! But please tell me you are tourqing up the bolts to spec rather than just the old ugga dugga gun tight haha
Hi thank you. I can't include every detail in the videos of what I do or they would be a few hours long. I do go over the bolts after using the gun though. Thanks.
Hi Steve, on the little angle bracket for the wing, did you weld a suitable nut onto the back of it or was there room for a nut and bolt. Keep up the good work
Well done!! Great video! One observation, I know you nicked the wheels off your Focus just to do a test run so it is not permanent, but there appears to be something you might not be aware of. The tread pattern of a tyre should "force" water from the middle of the tyre to the outside of the tyre when the wheel rotates - allowing the water to move away from under the tyre and the tyre to make contact with the road. Bearing that in mind, it appears you put the Focus Right Front or Right Rear wheel onto the Fiesta Left Front (I could not see the right front tread pattern). The way the tyre is on the left front in the video, when the wheel rotates, the tread pattern would push the water from the edge of the tyre into the middle - which could result in aquaplaning. Usually the tyres have a "direction of rotation" arrow on the sidewall if they are direction sensitive, which your tyres do appear to be based on the tread pattern..
Kat X I’ve previously bought salvage even as far back as d-hales pre copart and it’s hit and miss best thing is if your serious go look at the car so you know exactly what your getting that way there’s no surprises
Great videos mate keep up the good work, What happened to the focus the wheels came off? I'm I the only one that finds your accent really quite relaxing haha 🙈

I would track the ST2 and have the ST3 with all the mod cons as your daily. Great videos btw.
Great videos, myself and my two boys are enjoying it. Keep up the good work 👍
Genuinely enjoyed this little series!!
Another top vid bud can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for the st 👍

That pump you chucked in the bin was ok I have the same one and unless the oil is warm it won’t run through the pump , anyway looking forward to what nexts

Merry Christmas, another great video keep up the great work 👍👍
Steve, I have the same pump. It might still be ok. They are not intended to be lift pumps so it might have been struggling being above the oil.
Great mini-series by the way 👌
I have the same one too, a little inline fuse inside blew on mine, replaced it and it's been fine since 👍
Nice job.glad it was a successful test drive 😀
Merry Christmas stevo! Here's to the new year and this tearing around a track!
Right... We can reverse it in backwards!!! 🤣 🤣 I love the Welsh 😉
i tried reversing it in forwards but didnt work out so well. lol
@@Sparkplugsteve it just made me chuckle Steve 😉😂
Merry Christmas Steve, speedy progress on this one!
Im addicted to this series

Fair play mate good work
Yesss she’s running!! Hope you’ve had a great Christmas! 😊
Love this series finally some decent content on UA-cam keep it up 👍
Thank you
Another great episode Steve, a great series 😁
All this cool stuff you’ve done and the first time I see you get nearly frustrated is with some gearbox oil 😂 top work as usual 👌🏼
Thank you. I didn't film me spilling the oil, dropping the plug and my Stanley knife in the old oil container.it tipped me over the edge lol.
Yesss, Waited so long for this video. Great job steve, keep doing what your doing
I love a good back yard project.
merry Christmas buddy hope you get it back together soon
Glad she drove mint! You’ve done well mate consider how she’s came in to you in the first place.
What's the plans for the track mods fully stripped out out more fast road?
As u said with checking diff, my audi drive shaft come undone, put a hair line crack in the gearbox invisible from the outside part from a small damp, not wet patch, Fin killed ma gbox between services oil didn't stick or run on box cos air flow blew it away and was always wet on that side from shit desinge of rocker gadget, all caused by shaft dropping off at 30mph and stopped car in less than 30meters
lets hope i dont suffer the same lol.

Thank you very much. no im not a mechanic just a hobbyist.i do plan to do a video of all the cost as soon as its finished. thanks
Good man 👍🏻
Starting to look to good mate , don't track it keep it for the road!!
Trouble is they literally destroy front tyres dude. Pound for quid better on a track else your just smoking front tyres whilst destroying Porsches 🤣🤣🤣
Another great Video! Merry Xmas To you and the family! You'll prob get the EML on soon with the sport CAT and standard map. But I guessing you know already. Cheers mate! Look forward to the next video! So inspiring.
Hi. Its getting mapped but I did think it would be OK on sports cats. Thanks.
Brilliant. Glad she drove fine!
Well done m8. £3.5K money well spent! Looking forward to part 7!
Liked and subscribed, glad I found your channel. Keep up the good work sir. 👍😎
Great episode 👍
I’m really enjoying these video... new sub here🙂
Hi Steve can I ask what oil you used in the gear box as looking at doing a change on my fiesta but want to make sure I have the right oil. Cheers. Keep up the good work
Off memory it was either 75/80 or 75/90. Check manual will say there.
Did you have any problem with fuel cutoff ? My bros car had similar damage but has had fuel cut off?
merry christmas hope you have a good year
Well Done Steve 👍
She's looking well Steve
Nice job, new subscriber here from Negros island 🌴 in the Phillipines
Nice one merry xmas steve mate
Great distraction from Sitting on my sofa at 3 in the morning coughing my lungs out! 😷🤧 nice job butty 😅👍🏻
Enjoying the video s on at build hope to see another lol
First Car fixer on UA-cam that I have liked and watched every episode from 1 to 6, is there a 7 yet? Thank you Steve, as for the rain, you must live in Wales? Never mind ist's a cracking country.
thank you. im editing part 7 right now. cheers
Steve have loved watching you rebuild the Fiesta but just worried have you ever heard of a torque wrench ? they recommend using one for good reasons, also why did you not renew the notoriously weak bottom roll restrictor/ motor mount while you had the chance too ?
Lovin your work!
Steve, if you’re tracking this car and want the cruise control on your daily ST, it should be plug and play and can be activated by Forscan!
Forscan hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Sorry the child in me had to laugh at this.
Could do with a cold air intake for turbo noise but if you do that, the other mods you have done will mean it probably needs mapping
Great channel! Where about a are you? Definitely local to me but can’t figure out where haha
Nice one Steve👍 you should do a R8 or something next lol. Brilliant to watch
How was the tracking did you get lucky with it or have to adjust it much
Hasn't been for tracking yet.
How much gearbox oil did you put in Steve, I filled mine up until it weeped from the filler hole at first and that held around 2.2l but had to drain out around .5l later on as I found they should be filled with 1.67l and not to the point they dribble out of the fill hole like most fords.
Yes iv been told this too. I will redo it thanks.
Great channel. This is a UK version of Samcrac youtuber. Can you talk more about how to use copart because that'd be my first step.
Thank you.. Yes I could do a video on it actually. Good idea. Stay tuned.
Love you're videos!!!!!
Enjoying this, I’m from pandy :) got the exact same car.
Jake Francis from panda myself
Love the series so far and looking forward to the next ep! But please tell me you are tourqing up the bolts to spec rather than just the old ugga dugga gun tight haha

Hi Steve, on the little angle bracket for the wing, did you weld a suitable nut onto the back of it or was there room for a nut and bolt. Keep up the good work
hi, the bolts are like self tappers so iv drilled the hole to size so it just bolts direct to it.
Excellent steve
You might not agree with me but them st wheels (I think) suit your car! Well done bud 👍🏼 7k subs next
i like them too
Great video's 👌 new subscriber. Keep it up .
do you throw everything that "stops working"out? pumps are so easy to maintain
yes im on my 6th wife.
@@Sparkplugsteve fair enough, Wifes are a lil harder to repair tho ;) hope youve had a good christmas and have a brilliant 2019 !
Another quality video.
Take my hat off to you buddy u done a spot on job ..
Goin well mate
Sounds well to say it's only a sports cat.
Another great video. I just watched all your Nurburgring ones to. Will the new car be making the trip next year ?
thank you. yes 100% it will be at the ring in 2019.
Hi Steve were in Wales are you from ?
South valleys.
I'm from tonypandy
Good work
Did the sports cat set off the EML?
Merry Christmas and well done so far
no its working perfect. thank you

hi, thanks your right but for the purpose of a test drive i wasnt worried. im not sure they are staying on the car.
What camera do you use?
go pro hero 5
Just a standard white? Or black? Do you use an external mic at all? Love the home brew vids!
Do u recommend copart? Been looking at a few cars :)
Kat X I’ve previously bought salvage even as far back as d-hales pre copart and it’s hit and miss best thing is if your serious go look at the car so you know exactly what your getting that way there’s no surprises

Look back a few vids and you find the end of the focus videos.
Excellent work. At the time of writing, there were 22 dislikes on here. What's not to like ?
My face. Its ugly. 😁
Vauxhall fans 😂😂
Tidy that!!! N1 pal.😉
St wheels would look good with a refurb haha
One more thing this would make a really good daily to
