The production quality of this channel beats most big budget car shows. The attention to detail, the professionality, the cinematography, the lot. I can’t get enough of it!
Been following this series since the start and I gotta say, this is the most entertaining videos you can watch on UA-cam as a whole! Really love the build and I’m really looking forward to seeing what new projects you have waiting for us to see! Greetings from a v70-owner from Sweden 🇸🇪
Never had this level of mixed emotions before, to be both this happy and sad that this project has been completed. Absolutely unbelievable job, what a guy, what a car!
Those cinematic rollers gave me chills. This channel has it all Cool Volvo’s, good info, great camera work, and you’re great to watch. Seriously one of the best channels on UA-cam
This young man is an organized genius . very sober and informative knowledge . I would say , He is a meticulous teacher who simplifies the most complicated . I own an XC 70 and l wish He was my neighbor . l would gladly give him my car to work on with total peace of mind . I wish you the best of success young man. Thank you for this great video and photography .
The car looks and sounds incredible and I love your production quality in this. The driving shots at the end literally look better than Volvo's own marketing material for the V70. So good!
I rarely comment on UA-cam, but in this case, I’d like to express my appreciation for your videos. I’m a European guy that has been in love with Volvo’s, especially the R models, since I was a 5 year old. My dad always had Volvo’s, never the R though, but I fixed that myself and have a nice 850R I cherish. Now here’s why I appreciate you and your videos: You love the car for what it is. All mods you do, is more like a polish of what is already a very enjoyable roadcar, instead of modding with the more is better kind of approach. You are not changing it to an poor driving, unreliable HP monster or “racecar for the road because the R should be faster”. I believe you are doing it right. But I guess you knew this already because when you take a testdrive afterwards you look like a little boy on Christmas morning. Have fun with your special Swedish special car, keep it nice and enjoy it as a true classic car later on in life too that will only gain value and rarity if you keep it clean. Also, I don’t know if you did anything to strengthen the cilinders, but be careful you don’t crack those walls and it will serve you well for years.
8:39 i'm not 100% sure but, i think you need to change the ball and arm as well. Not just the cables. edit: no bueno on putting a bolt, it needs to be able to move on that ball. Call a dealership for Volvo and ask them for the proper ball - and ... cables. Also, never over tighten your bleed screws. You only want to snug them because of several reasons, but the two most important. 1. you'll damage the seal surface 2. you'll never get them off once corrosion sets in - and it always does.
Congrats from a Honda guy from Indy. Really, really happy for you and to say I enjoyed your series is to understate how much pleasure I received by following your journey. Looking forward to the next one.
Never tighten those bleed screws that hard as you did in 14:25. You're only supposed to tighten them just a tiny bit, so they don't come loose or bleed, they will otherwise become a problem. I've changed hundreds of these bleed screws in casr, for being overtightened and then rusting out. Otherwise, a great video, watched a bit fast, but im a huge fan in this v70r series. Keep up the amazing videos, youre going to go far with your vids. I'll remember these times when you're in a big shop creating beautiful cars after cars.
His tightening of everything is scary. Scary we share the road with cars like this… It’s not just himself he will kill when a critical brake or suspension fastener fails…
@@froggy0162 Froggy Dude- This guy might be green but he is not the problem- like he checks his tire pressure for instance, he puts brake pads on his brakes, he stops at stop signs, he buys new tires, he as far as I can tell is not looking at his phone when he drives, he is not geeked out on meth or whatever. 11:45 - I'm pissed... This has become my favorite youtube series of late and have enjoyed the build a ton. It's really the first car build I've ever really watched. I've always liked cars, but didn't know much about them, but this has taught me a lot about cars and is starting to inspire me to try and tackle some of my own projects. I've only owned one car in my life for 6 years now. I own a 2008 Ford Taurus and it is obviously and old persons car, but I love it, and so do the people that ride in it. It has 200k miles on it and I keep it in really nice condtion. This series has inspired to simply just take car of my car beyond what I normally do to hopefully get another 100k miles out of it! Can't wait to see the next project!
I happened to find your channel just before this project…….dont sell yourself short on your skill set! You just tackled a huge project, and did an awesome job. I worked on older stuff with my dad (like 850 Volvos) when I was growing up, your videos brought back a lot of memories even though you’re working on a newer car. Thanks for the great series!
Awesome, have you worked on T5-R too? One of the most legendary cars from its era, some say that the car had "cult reputation/cult following" because it was so nice car
Loved how excited you were when everything started coming together and the cinematography towards the end was wonderful - really a satisfying ending to the project :)
21:32 - Sheesh, panning shots with THAT song I've listened thru all of these episodes. I'm happy you delivered the final product and the Lolvo haven't ended at the junkyard.
I’ve been watching this build since day one and I can definitely say that I am truly impressed and so happy to see that your project finally came together in a culmination that was completely deserved. it’s pretty impressive that this was your first project of this level of intensity, but you also made it into some incredible content, on a platform that is actually rarely built. Great job!!
I absolutely LOVE this series, I started following a while ago for photography, but cars are right up my alley as well. Love the channel, keep doing this!
The quality, tempo and presenting is absolutely on the highest level in my opinion! I love the car and the modifications to it. Watching you build that car is insanely enjoyable I'm staying till the end of this build
The V70 has always looked phenomenal and still holds up very well. Nice to see someone have a good time with it. I might however like the 850 T-5R a tiny bit more in its delivery yellow to be one of the most badass volvos :)
What a great channel! You are building my dream car! Turbo, manual, awd, and wagon! This thing sounds so good too! Currently my favorite series on UA-cam right now!
Those Volvo V70 just look so amazing. Beautiful timeless design in these cars. Even pretty old models still look great with their boxy functional look.
Pro tip: If you let the tubing from the caliper into your drain bottle go all the way to to bottom of the bottle. You'll create a check valve of sorts for air. So you can bleed the brakes yourself by pumping the brakes and leaving the hose end submerged in the fluid. It will keep air from going back into the tube.
So glad I happened to find your channel near the start of the series! It's been such a great journey watching you fix up the old Volvo. I've always loved wagons, and the old V70R's are so incredibly cool. It's so great to see an old machine like that get the love and care it deserves. Great work man.
Agree - your production quality & descriptions - upfront about errors made are up there with the best on UA-cam. Please keep it up. Looking forward to you finishing anw will follow your next one. Kudos!

I have never wanted a Volvo more in my life than I do right this second. This is a ridiculously good build. You gotta share this with the original owner so they can see what you turned this into.
Excellent channel! the timing in the editing is perfect and the production value is top notch. That transmission cable bolt is a clever solution, but as you saw the ball can be swapped so you can just order a different one (or get it machined) to fit the cable properly. misfire diagnosis was primo shade-tree stuff as well. And I can confirm, the volvo sounds better as a honda than a honda does ;)
Been watching the build from the beginning I love the content and the audio quality as well as visual I also love the fact that u take the time to explain the whole process to ppl who might not know a lot about car so from car guy to guy props to u mate 🍻I’m currently working on my 2002 ford f150 extended cab as well
I remember when your film photography channel was pretty small, that was about when I got into film myself. Your videos have always been a joy to watch and with this channel you've shown that you can create incredibly interesting, visually appealing and just plain cool content about any topic you want. Thanks for putting in the effort! I'm excited to see the next car
Videos like this remind us that cars peaked years ago and that we have been going backwards since. I’ll happily give an older car a major overhaul over buying something new 👏🏼👏🏼
I have always tried to imagine what a manual swap would be like on my V70, but I wouldnt have the time, expertise, patience and money to do it. I am so glad you have made these videos as I can witness what it would be like through your lens.
Hell yeah dude! So proud of you for taking this project on! I saw a V70R in Silver last week at the post office and the old guy driving it was completely clueless he was like why is this guy talking to me 😂
Years ago I was heavy in the Volvo game/gang.... P80 wagons all day!!!!!! Went JDM in recent years BUT last year I got the Volvo itch again while I was looking for some Lexus parts in the junkyard and came across a P80 V70 T5 manual. Can you say super rare? I almost wanted to cry knowing that someone had scrapped such a car. Since that time last year, I've been searching for a reasonable P80 V70 T5 or V70R as my next project...... tricked suspension, Porsche brakes seamless power capable aftermarket turbo. It's crazy that just 10 to 12 years ago P80 wagons were so plentiful and everywhere, now they're rarely seen. Real talk seeing your build on this V70 R is inspirational and best of all you're in the L.A. area.
First off. Congratulations to you my friend for seeing the awesomeness in wagons. Second, dude, you should be super proud of yourself and the work you have done to transform this ride. You are exactly how I was at your age. Love this build series and all that work has earned you a badass whip. Love it dude!!
It’s a great shame that one of the greatest car makers on the planet sad they will cease making cars like this and only focus on SUVs 😞 Thanks for keeping this beautiful car on he road and for doing such an awesome job. Not sure if you know, but there’s a bit of a love for Volvos in Japan everything from the older gens to models like this. 👏👏👏😎👍
Willem, if you're ever looking for chassis performance parts for the V70, look for wrecked Volvo C70s. The front and rear subframes are solidly mounted (instead of rubber mounted) to the chassis because since it's a cabriolet, they needed to make it stiffer. There is also a mid chassis stiffening cross brace available, all of it being OEM Volvo parts. Control arms are also reinforced and stiffer than those found in the V70. It's a popular modification for the V/S chassis here in Europe.
Well done completing a vision you had. So many channels don't get to this point. It's been tremendously enjoyable seeing your growth and cinematography skills improve over time.
Respect for the challenge you took on with this project. Great video as well! Looking forward to the next..! I like the shows of Mike Brewer and Elvis but I think you may be next level.
this is one of the coolest, cleanest, and most unique builds I've seen. 10/10 content quality btw. Would rather watch this than 90% of cartubers out today.
Really fun project and the production quality is just insane! Super fun to watch especially when you own a v70 yourself. Not a v70 R tho, but the next best thing, v70 -07 Classic D5. 🇸🇪

That footage at the end had me blushing and kicking my feet. I want to get my SR to this point. Insane to see how far this channel has come.
Your taste in cars and music is unparalleled and your editing is so satisfying.
ive never hesitated less to buy merch... love ya
I am loving this channel. Production value is amazing! Also there are NO gimmicks, just someone working on their car! Love it!
Been watching the build from the beginning I love the content and the audio quality as well as visual I also love the fact that u take the time to explain the whole process to ppl who might not know a lot about car so from car guy to guy props to u mate 🍻I’m currently working on my 2002 ford f150 extended cab as well
Congrats dude. This car is sick and you've done it soooo proper. As a car guy I'm happy for you.
Those roller shots are gold omg...I want a v70r even more now!
Real talk seeing your build on this V70 R is inspirational and best of all you're in the L.A. area.
Ive always thought the this generation S60 was a good looking car but as a wagon somehow it looks even better. You've done a great job man!
I rarely enjoy youtube so much but you made it great for me. Keep it up man cant wait to see more!
I watched your whole series, can’t wait to watch your channel grow with the amazing content you put out. Incredibly inspiring ❤️🔥
The design of this V70 is a masterpiece... it looks great from every angle!
