Gibson was one of the first to market electric guitar amplifiers; their Falcon emerged as an early member of the flock in the 1960s. Hot on the heels of their Falcon 5 and Falcon 20 single-channel combo amps, an electrifying feat of aural aviation is taking flight: the Gibson Dual Falcon 20. This two-channel take on the iconic tube amp elevates the vintage-fueled ethos of its mates with a slew of contemporary appointments that masterfully balance classic sonic stylings with modern performance needs. Sweetwater’s viceroy of vintage, Don Carr, soars with the Dual Falcon 20 alongside the rest of the Falcon flock to show all the new tricks that accompany this timeless bird. Check it out!

Hello Don, excellent presentation and playing, as always! Thank you!
Ignazio Vagnone here from Jensen Speakers. Please allow me a few words about the Blackbird 40 speakers that the Falcon amps feature. The development of the amps started with a variety of Jensen Vintage Alnico speakers, but, since the amps are "vintage with a modern touch", we then tested the Blackbird 40, the same speakers in the Mesa California Tweed amps. Because of the exclusive "Reinforced Alnico" magnet, that is about 30% stronger than the vintage equivalent, the Blackbird 40 are definitively vintage-toned but tighter in the bass, more efficient, and have a higher dynamic range. We all felt that they just fit perfectly the Falcon amps.
If anyone would be interested in knowing more about the Jensen Blackbird... just feel free to ping me, always ready for some tech/tone talk! Cheers!
Can't wait for mine to arrive!
Awesome! I’ll spread the word to my guitarists! ❤️ 🎸
Doctor / Lawyer amps, will go perfect with your PRS Private Stock! 🤣 (Actually, too bright for my tonal tastes...)
Sounds like a cool product, but the Gibson pricing is too rich for my blood.
Ive started to use modern gear, i have a class d power amp for portability. At home I use tubes only. Tube amps will never completely die
great playing DC!!! 😁
Own the 20. Been playing it for months now and it’s awesome! That reverb /trem with higher gain is just 🔥 takes pedals very well and such A beast with the Friedman be-oD deluxe . Idc what many say about internals as they back it with 5y warranty . No issues here .
When he said Alnico speaker, I quite watching. If you want great tone you gotta have mass.
Still love the sound
I love this new amps its so awesome really🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😊
I can't wait to steal this with my quad Cortex!!! Amp modeler gang!
Its still going to sound digital, so have fun?
Desired.
Never getting rid of my JCM 800 stack never. I have a AC30 that I bought 3 years ago and only used it 2 times .
These are NOT HANDWIRED! Standard mesa pcb. Took the back off of mine and sent it straight back as it is a PCB circuit! Hand assembled is all it is. Caps aren’t heat shield next to components that emit high temps and it’s not hard to oscillate and burn the circuit. £800 amp at best. Oh I almost forgot, the reason you can swap 6L6/6V6 so easily is it’s only bias at about 6% so valves are hardly being worked.
Dual falcon 20!!! Ok that's new...
That Falcon 5 is BRIGHT. And that's with a Royer 121 ribbon mic.
The mics we used to record are the Audio-Technica AE2300 dynamic and 4081 ribbon. The mic balance favors the AE2300. FWIW, the 4081 is tonally balanced from an EQ perspective. Not the darker sound you’d expect from a “modern” ribbon mic.
Thanks!

The 490s in the custom are bright pickups.
I still have a Marshall Amp, but I'm too old to move it.
Tough room.
I have seen videos claiming that internally, they are terrible.
This for me is why I would never buy one.
The sad truth.
Unless you are willing to spend 2 to 3 times the price for a hand wired amp you will always have amp repair geeks whining about working on them. You would think they would be happy with the business. They are just trying to get clicks and subs for their channels.
Tube amps are like a car, They need to be serviced and maintained. If you don't, the repairs can be pricey.
Most amps come with a 2 to 5 year warranty to cover repairs and parts.
It's simple, before your amp warranty expires, take it to a tech for a service check.
Or, you can simply pull the back cover off and look at the board.
@@johnsmith-ug5tp
The videos I saw were not made by "repair geeks", they were made by guitar players with UA-cam channels, who looked inside the two amps. The three (or four) 12AX7 tubes are mounted horizontally, "inside" as Gibson says, to a circuit board. That is normal, right?! Tell me more!! 😅
@@johnsmith-ug5tp
And as a special bonus, the prices of the two are $1,500 and $1,800, with no overdrives, and no effects loops! But for sure, they are a better value than the three poor Fender Blues Junior IV models, with the tubes all mounted vertically where they are visible like maybe every tube amp has been built since the year 1950, with overdrives, and with a choice of three different exterior finishes and speakers, for $800 (or less) each, correct?!! 😂
When you can’t afford one just bash them. Just say you don’t have enough money. Of course they are high but not a terrible sound.
And it gets heavier every year
WAY overpriced for what they are......or aren't.
And Boogie quality for a thousands of $ more
What are you talking about with “thousands of $ more”?
All three of the Gibson Falcon amps are less expensive than the lowest priced Mesa Boogie combo amp.
..and still no one can tell the difference between a Helix and overpriced gear..
Maybe you can't.
Except people with autism, we can tell

I love my tube amps. I have to say I love my fractal as well

They put a tube in the middle of the circuit board…
