    Gibson is proud to be back in the guitar amplifier business! Introducing the Falcon 5 and Falcon 20, inspired by vintage Gibson amps and reimagined for today’s players. These new amps, handcrafted in Petaluma, California, focus on great sound, simplicity, and ease of use. The new Falcon models pay homage to Gibson’s legendary past as one of the very first manufacturers of electric guitar amplification back in the 1930s but offer the versatility demanded on modern stages, in home studios, and beyond.
    The Gibson Falcon amplifiers are available now in North America via authorized Gibson dealers and on Gibson.com, with global availability beginning in April 2024.
    Watch as Grace Bowers plays through some of the features and tones on the new Gibson Falcon 5 tube amplifier using a selection of Epiphone and Gibson guitars. Listen to the sounds of the Gibson Falcon 5 as Grace demos clean tones, overdriven tones and the fuzz-laden sounds of the cranked 1x 6V6 Power Tube and 3x 12AX7 Preamp Tubes.
    The small but raucous Gibson Falcon 5 1x10 tube combo amp delivers around seven watts of single-ended, pure Class A power from a single 6V6 power tube, switchable down to around three watts. Alongside volume and tone controls with a wider, more usable range, there’s a level control for the Falcon 5’s lush onboard all-tube spring reverb, while a 10-inch Jensen Blackbird Alnico speaker helps deliver the Falcon 5’s touch-sensitive, harmonically rich tube tones. The Gibson Falcon 5 is an ideal amp for intimate gigs, home practice, and recording purposes. With its modern refinements, high-end performance, and boutique construction, the Falcon 5 is a vintage amp dream delivered with a sturdy, consistent modern design ethos.

      People would be far better off buying a vintage 60’s Gibson amp for less than half the price. “Guy complaining about the price” isn’t stupid. This is clearly not a good value for the money. Heck, I got a mint condition 60’s Skylark for $250 7 years ago. Replacing the caps, speaker, and power cable isn’t particularly expensive.

    Nope. I bought the 5. I'm a Gibson lover, not a hater, but it's not good. I'm very disappointed. 1 trick pony. It's good for natural OD at 7 to 9 o'clock. Lame cleans and not the touch sensitive. I like my amps to be somewhat percussive. It's not. Try again Gibson. If it was $799 I would still bring it back. My 2004 GA5 is a better amp. I played the 20 in the store. Same thing. Love the look. But. Even my wife said send it back. I bought it for my Den. I was going to replace my pro jr with it. She said the pro jr sound beautiful, the gibson doesn't.

    • @tennisplayer421
      @tennisplayer421 3 місяці тому +29

      @PedroFreire95 Power is cheap. Notice how it's $300 difference for about double the power and a larger speaker in the Falcon 20, not another $1.5K more. You're paying $1.5K for a handwired, heirloom, made in America amp. See Magnatone, Tone King, or any other boutique maker with low watt amps going for $2-3K. Or look at the price difference between Fender or Vox's handwired vs. mass production amps.
      If this kind of amp is your jam, that's cool. If that's not important to you, then that's cool too. But maybe if you made an effort to learn why something is more expensive - handmade by American labor (with American wages) as opposed to something made overseas with cheaper materials - you might understand why a product like this exists and why someone would buy it.

There’s only one reason that people complain and put down high priced items like this, and that’s jealousy. They can’t afford one (as you said, often due to blowing cash on needless stuff) and it totally pisses them off that there are some folks who can. Instead of admitting that it’s currently out of their price range and moving on, they have to convince the rest of the world that it’s an overpriced, substandard product that no one should even consider purchasing. Fortunately, such comments, while extremely annoying, hold next to no value to anyone with a decent set of ears.

      @robertc5387 3 місяці тому

      Then why are you watching new gear videos to begin with? If you followed your own advice, then there’s nothing about this that should bother you. There’s NOTHING here that’s a “must have” - no one has a gun to anyone’s head. If you’re happy with what you’ve got, keep it and play it. If you’re not happy with your sound, it makes sense to educate yourself about what else is available that you might like better. Some people like variety, and that’s okay as well. If they can afford to have four or five (or more) different amps, what’s the harm? People collect all different kinds of things, not just guitar amps. I personally find collectors to be a lot more interesting and knowledgeable than folks with no interests or hobbies. I certainly can’t afford this amp, and may never be able to, but I can appreciate its capabilities and would love to own one. I would never begrudge anyone else such a purchase.

    This was one of the most underwhelming demos I’ve seen. Nothing played here would ever inspire me to buy this amp. It was nothing more than typical guitar noodling. When one of the comments here is “I love your hair”, you know that the playing itself was quite forgettable. Fortunately, the longer demo with Dinesh was of much higher quality and really showed what these amps are actually capable of. Without that, I wouldn’t have thought twice about this amp. Gibson should stop trying to get the latest artists to demo their products - it takes more than just being a professional musician to do a demo which showcases the product rather than own their playing. Very few players actually have that ability, and this demo was no exception.

It takes a unique talent to showcase something like this without turning it into a showcase of your own playing. Once the focus shifts from the sounds coming out of the amp to the finger work on the fretboard, the demo has failed. I don’t know if Gibson really understands that.
