I like the point regarding using single Serum sound in pre-drop melody and focusing more on arrangement, that opens more opportunities to create something new, producers spend too much time on layering sound to get big sound. Ralph as you always say "If its sounds good, it is good."
It doesnt have to be 'difficult' to be good ;)

In English we call the melody sections as MEASURES. So if you have an 8 measure melody, use the last 2 to make a difference, or a 16 measure melody it would be the same

The hardest thing for me is finding different sounds and mixing them well for the leads.
same here...I find it really hard to make/find the right sounds...for my Song...
I also had the same problem and still have to face them these days, its all about diggin deep into lot of presets banks and tweeking to your liking, plus learning some basic sound design really helps to face the struggle
That's always the hard part, what you dont see is that I have spent days on listening to different sounds already. The more experience you have, the easier that gets!
