  • @zenith_journey
    @zenith_journey 6 років тому

    mastering is super important but most people think its the missing piece to make their music amazing. trust me i used to think like this too, but its wrong - its all about the mix. great video, i also use the EQ to change the levels in my tracks, its nice because u can see how many DB's you are reducing/boosting - which is something u cant see in fruity balance

    • @Bassjackers
      @Bassjackers  6 років тому

    For headroom in the beginning of the mix I always put down the volume on the sampler or the synth because if you put the volume down in your mixer track and you start adding fx on it and it raises in volume it also can clip but you dont see it cause you put the volume fader lower :) but thanks for the tips 🤗

    the 3 parts of any mastering:
    1.- compress
    2.- EQ
    3.- Limit
    Bassjackers do all the 3 in his way. The first "limiting" its actually compressión. Limiting its actually a way to compress something, just to "break" a little bit the dynamics. That's his approach. EQ with a multiband limiter, the same thing. Look how he starts to clip and saturate the track to gain loudness from the 1st step, thats why in the last limiter, in this case, a clipper, just 1dB of saturation and you're on the right spot of loundness. Another thing, there isn't a rule about loudness, i mean, YOUR TRACK MUST BE AT "X" RMS OR "X" LUFS. NO, THAT'S WHY YOU NEED REFERENCE!!! and for everything, from the rough to the final thing and how to eq and how much EQ do you need. Always refence. ALWAYS. And you will get a REAL mastering. Mastering it's more about MAKING SOMETHING SOUND GREAT. it's to save headaches to the Djs and final clients of your music (radio, streaming, dj sets, anything) so you music will have that "expensive" sound. And THE MOST IMPORTANT GOLD RULE OF MASTERING, MIXING, ARRAGEMENT, EVERYTHING: trash in = trash out

    Hey!! Great Video Brother!
    I really respect/appreciate your time and effort you put in teaching us get better.
    I'm sorry i forgot to reply back on one of your older videos where i had probelms with opening one of your projects. But it got solved by upgrading the FL Studio to the latest that is 20. And now it works.... yaay!!
    Brother when you grow old and might not want to go to sets anymore you can definetely start a school for music production anywhere in the world. You can hire different Teachers for different genres..
    This is just an idea dont get it wrong... :) we dont want you to get off sets.... just an idea...
    Anyways Looking forward to more and more of these signed by Bassjackers Videos.

    One more thing which might be a common problem for many of producer, should a producer stick with any particular genre and get master in that ? Or he should learn 3-4 genre ? Whether it help ?
