In this video, I show you how to make a quilted throw pillow cover for a 20" pillow insert. The change of seasons is always a good time to freshen up the home decor and throw pillows are an easy way to accomplish that. This cute pillow cover is a great single block project and an excellent way to get accustomed to working with zippers. This tutorial can be adapted for any size throw pillow.

I just wanted to say thank you. I was looking through the videos you made and WOW. Thank you, thank you. You have small videos to learn everything about how to quilt. Have a nice day.
You are so welcome! Glad you are enjoying them!
Hi. I just found your channel and subscribed. It is like a Christmas present to me. I am looking forward to watching your videos over the holidays. Merry Christmas.
Welcome aboard!
I am confused about the zipper tabs. I see you make and attach them to the backing fabric but in the very next step of attaching the backing fabric to the front panel the tabs are nowhere to be seen. Or have I missed something in between?
Plus, if you use an invisible zipper, it means you’re not going to top stitch it. Because then it will become visible 😅
Thank you for this! My pillow insert is 19", so would you suggest i trim the quilted outer casing to a half of an inch smaller than the insert?
It just depends on how “full” you want you pillow. I like my pillows to be really filled out, so I suggest making the case about 1/2” or 1” smaller than the I insert. 😊
Let me clarify, I would trim the front and back panels to 19” BEFORE sewing together. It will probably finish at about 18.5”
@@modernmoonquiltstudio thank you!
@@modernmoonquiltstudio I just finished my pillow and I'm thrilled with it! Thank you for your encouragement! (I used an old insert and it's not uniform, so I have a new one arriving soon.)
Is there a pattern for the orange peels? Link?
