Someone commented that you werent thinking like a teacher. I dont think thats quite correct. You do have it in you. You helped me understand the UV Unwrapping. Thank you for that.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear the video helped you!
Great video! You gave me key informations and techniques that other tutorials were not providing. Coming from 3ds Max, Blender has great features to help the unwrap process making it a lot easier. Thank you for the tutorial! Happy to subscribe
Awesome Samuel! I'm super happy to hear that the video helped you out :) I'm also thrilled to have you here as a subscriber! Thank you and chat soon :) Cheers!
nice video, just what do i do with different sizes. the objects will not be seamless.
example of modular buildings
I just did exactly what you did. I selected the object with A, then U, then chose Unwrap. Nothing was displayed in the editor window. Help!
did you make sure to mark some seams for the unwrapping tool?
This is the sequence I followed: 1. Tabbed into Edit mode. 2. Selected the Edge tool. 3. Clicked 'Select', then 'Sharp Edges', then 4. Right-click and chose 'Mark Seams'. 5. Selected the Face mode. 6. A to select All. 7. U, then chose Unwrap. Nothing showed up in the Editor window. Done this sequence 5 times now. Same result each time.

Just for troubleshooting, do you have sync selection on and are you looking at the correct uv map in the uv editor window?
I don't know what ' sync selection on' means. And there is nothing shown in the editor window.
@@macleodgordon if you open the hyperlink in the last message, I circled the sync selection button on the left and on the right I circled the UV selection
its so blurry for me
Wouldn't say that's for beginners
Yeah so true
I hate when tutorials just assume you know everything they show you how but they don't show you why or what it is you are acutally doing
like this guy for example all he said was the amazon package example then says "press unwrap hmm this will do pretty good for us then we can change THIS to comformal"
like what ! how is that going to help a beginner
1:30
(Lucky I know the basics of un mapping so I can follow along but this is not a beginner tutorial)
[Ok maybe he does explain in 3 seconds detail what comformal does a bit later on but it was no where near good enough he just says play with it lmao like how is this for beginners
By the way I probably sound like a right toxic cunt I am not trying to be haha I am just saying what is wrong with this video and how he shouldn't put beginners on the title
@@Ryan3D_Games thank you for the feedback. I would rather have honest feedback than empty compliments. I will do my best to create a better introduction to uvs in the future. Please check out some of the newer videos on the channel. They are much shorter but I wrote a script before recording. Please let me know if you think this is a better presentation style and preparation for beginners. Cheers!
@@GlassHandFilms Alright Ill take a look
I've done basic unwrapping in blender, and did get a lot of your concepts, I feel that you tried to present too many concepts here for beginners. I also got lost. Appreciate you adding your time to produce these vids, but this is a bit disjointed
Thank you for the feedback. I'll see if I can redeem myself with a more basic approach later. Cheers!
@@GlassHandFilms Thanks for taking the feedback, I hope it helps!
I feel like you need to restructure your tutorial. It's all over the place. You are not thinking like a teacher. You've explained a lot of things without explaining why (apart from the high texture example at the end). I've dotted everything down you said, but I know I'm still am lost. Doing a basic window is not the problem, it's usually the UVs around bevels, corners, not knowing how to fix stretching seen on extruded faces.
Thank you for your honest feedback. Please check out some of the newer videos on the channel. I have been writing scripts to help better sort through some of my thoughts. You are right, this video I was not thinking like a teacher but hopefully the newer videos you can see some improvement
@@GlassHandFilms Check out The CG Essential's channel. The guy uses teacher-student language. (I mean no offense with my criticism, it's just annoying going through a tutorial and 1) it ends just randomly, 2) still can't work in UV editor properly.
@@josephvanwyk2088 I will have to check it out. Thank you for your feedback!
