@silverbird58: Jim Anderson had a 57 Ford in " Father Knows Best" Lee Marvin had a 57 Ford in "M Squad" And let's not forget the movie "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitcham.
Sounds like you're in a rare family that cares for your loved ones... Your grandfather and grandmother taught your father well with a caring heart and it's obvious he too has passed the gift on down to you... Remember to send this gift always and give it to your children also... AMEN & AMEN
That is an awesome story. As a teenager, still too young to drive, I was in love with the 1957 Ford. Every day my route home from school took me past the Ford dealership's used car lot where there almost always were multiple 1957 Fords. I lingered in that lot. The manager got to know me and would let me sit in the cars, let me run my hands over the fins, etc. Alas, I never was able to own a 1957 Ford. I had a couple of 1958 models but never a 1957.
I was born in 1957. I think you have the ultimate vehicle. I love the car...and your storytelling was awesome. You have a real treasure of memories . Im giving my grandkids the same typy of memories. Do me a favor !! You give your Papa the greatest Hug ever and kiss him on the forehead. My Grand kids do that. I didn't ask them too. I cant even tell you how much that makes my world so Bright and soo Loved. I will say prayers for your family. Sincerely Papa Jeri... Not a miss print. Im a twin and my Mother (God rest her soul) wanted something different. All my grandkids know Papa Jeri and i have free reign to spoil each and every one of them with AWESOME memories. I will watch for more of your stories.
Our stage 1 Buick is the only one in Canada Total production. 800 Canada & usa we bought ours in. 1972 I just sold my 69 COPO Camaro I had a lot of fun with it blowing the doors off cars even the super birds the thing about cars is that each of us can get what you like
I bought a used red & black '57 Ford Fairlane 500 with a 292 V8 automatic that I drove from NJ to South Florida in 1966. It blew a timing chain at a Texaco gas station on Rt 301 in Santee, South Carolina on Labor Day weekend. The station owner knew a guy at a local parts store and got a new chain on Labor Day. 7 hours later, I was on my way. I wish I still had that car. A very cool ride.
The best part of this video is not the '57 Ford (and I have owned one myself) but it's the love you obviously have for grandfather. He is blessed to have you for his grandson.
That is a beautiful classic. It means much to me, too. My parents bought that same model new in 1957. Theirs was also the Fairlane 500 2 door Town Sedan not the hard top. Theirs had the bright work trim around the door and rear windows. They didn't get the 312 but the standard V8, the 292 with the Fordomatic with power steering and the radio and clock in the dashboard. My mom wanted the two tone grey. Sadly, the rust belt of Pittsburgh took its toll and I last saw it in 63 when my dad traded it in on a later newer Dodge. Still have a love for the 57 Fords, and their cousins, the late 50s Fairlanes. Love your story of your generosity towards your grandpa!
That was my first car also. Bought it in 1966, gray and white. Everybody liked the 57 Chevy but the Ford was my favorite. Your car brings back a lot of good memories. Sold mine when I was drafted into the Army Infantry in 1969 for deployment in Southeast Asia. Different times back then, different America. Your car is beautiful, keep it that way.. for grandpa and guys like me
You are one hell of a young man. That was a wonderful thing you and your dad did. BTW, the 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 2 door is my favorite car of all time.
Thank you so much! Although it was extremely nice to give my grandpa something he truly deserved, the best gift has been all the positivity people like you have shared in response to this video! You made my day!
You and your parents must be wonderful folks. I was 8 years old when that car came out. It was a time of euphoria for the United States; at great sacrifice we had won World War Ii and helped rebuild Europe and Japan. Sadly, now we are ruled by the same kinds of tyrants who were responsible for the rise of the German National Socialist Party (i.e. the Nazi's) and the Stalinist Communists. Let Freedom Ring!
Had 57 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible in 1963. Paid $800 being 6 yo. Mine was white with white top and inside had two tone blue and white also. Didn't have skirts. She was sharp. Great thing you did for granddad.
This os exactly what the world is missing these days. Kids like this. This is a fine young man, great family values (which is what will keep him from drugs and crime) and the love of a single storyabout his grandfather. Young man, you have to know how proud your parents are of you. And a gorgeous car to boot.
The 1957 Ford Fairlane was the first car that I fell in love with as a teenager and to this day, is still one of the best cars in my mind as well as yours. It was very nice to hear the reasons why this car is your favorite and the MOST valuable to you as you told the story of your Grandpa. What a great gift to him and something that will always be a wonderful connection between you both. Thank you for sharing your experience and this wonderful car.
Good and cool to see a young person that cares about his Grand parents. You and your Father are good Men. The truth is none of us would be here if it we're not for our Grand parents. How some people can just discard them is beyond me.
Beautiful car and what an amazing story....... best family ever for doing this... we lost my grandmother to this disease 5 yrs ago and it's the little things that can make their days left the best
How unselfish and respectful can you get? This young man has it all for his parents, grandparents, siblings, everybody. It is just a car to some people but to this guy it maters more than it is a car. I liked the 58 better but this is a beauty and your grandfather still has a sense of humor when he asked how much you rented it for.
This was the identical car my brother and I bought in 62 we shared a lot of great memories enjoying high school and working together as one. R.i.p Big Bro.
I have the same car. I had it since I was 10year old. Fully owned it since I was 18yrs. Thank you to my old brother Ross, for all the time he spent teaching me about cars. And holding the 57 for me.
What a beautiful 57 Fairlane. That is my favorite car of all time. I'm 75 years old and these 57 Fords and all the others of that era were all on the road when I was a teenager. I loved the story and your passion for the car.
I love your story. I have pretty much the same story with my dad and the exact same car (red and black though) . I found his car and gave it to him this past Christmas. He and my mom are like teenagers again driving it all over the place.
The 57 ford was my grandpas favorite car. he bought a 55 ford fairlane in 2014 and had been working on it since he got it. I remember the joy it brought him to work on it with me and it quickly became my favorite car. But he past away in april and wasn't able to see it back on the road. He wanted the car to go to me when he past and it did. But it's been hard to work on it with out him. but im close to getting it back on the road and i now he'll be proud when that day comes.
Joe Tharp Interestingly, I found a 56 Ford 4 Door/292 T bird, / auto/ White & Bleu cloth INT,with a/c noT working, low miles & great shape( a minor bubbling around some of windows WAS ONLY b,emish , THIUHG dual exhausts some discolored on bumper surrounds. !))..totaled in early 1966( other driver faulty, thouhg only recovered some $3000.. to cover summers expensws/ hospital/ Wages.....
My dad & I bought a brand new baby blue and white Fairlane 500 Sunliner convertible from Jack Roach Ford in Houston in 1958 when I was a junior in high school in Houston -- I still remember the monthly payment was $72/month and I paid 1/2 (out of my paper route income) and my dad paid 1/2 -- took the car to college and it's still my most favorite of all the cars I've owned -- the girls back in the day thought it was super cool. Great memories.
I'm 70 now, loved your story, I had a 58,59,60 t-birds and I also had a 59 fairlane 500 all white red white interior I loved those cars, later in the 60s I bought a 69 ford fairlane cobra w/ a 428 super cobra jet engine 4 speed, dragpack 457 gears, dark green, gold interior, very fast on the dragstripe.🏁🇺🇸
Bless you all. I can quickly tell that you are from a good family with good values. The car is beautiful. There actually isn't a bad car in the 1957 line. It was a banner year for all makes. I envy you being able to drive that car around. You must feel like a king going down the road with that rolling work of art!
Jim, Im 73 and love the 50s cars. I had a 57 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible which I paid 450 dollars in my junior year of high school 1965. I liked the 55, 56 and 57 Chevys. Same for the 55,56 and 57 Fords. The 58 Ford not so much but the 59 Ford was a great car. Chrysler Dodge cars were like boats with rear fins but they had huge engines and would fly. Love the old cars.
Jim ,dont forget the T-Birds.55, 56 57 were beautiful cars. I loved the round rear windows and the single bench seat. Then in 58 they made it into a sedan with a back seat. In my opinion that ruined the T-Bird. Adios my friend.
My dad had this car when he got married to my mom in 1962. I always wanted to get him one and share it with him. Unfortunately, he passed away in2005 and I never got the chance. So happy for you and your grandfather.. enjoy !! Awesome gift.
I am 77 years old and remember that car well. I was about 16 at the time it came to the dealerships and couldn't wait for them to arrive. There is a lot of talk about the 57 Chevy and I love it too but this Ford is right up there in my opinion. I really liked the video too . The young man did a great job doing it.
I will tell you, what you did for your grandfather is one of the greatest things anyone can do to show there love for his grandparents. I use to have a black 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible with the continental kit in the back, i am not sure if you remember them or you can ask your grandfather, they were nice cars with all that chrome in the back and the spare tire right there. Beautiful cars. As a Old Vietnam veteran myself, thanks for what you did here for your Grandpa.
Had one like this except it was a hardtop. Married my wife in 1964 and drove away with cans tied to the back. Mine was black and white and had the fender skirts which I purchased and put on it. Black and white Dice hanging from the mirror. Loved that old car. Thanks for the memories.
That's a great story I can relate to it as I have Parkinson's too. My first car was a 70 Mustang Mach 1 which I still own today. My son is 47 years old when he was two weeks-old I drove my car on the Bonneville Salt Flats with him in it riding on the console between the two bucket seats. I told him he was probably the only human being in the world that was 2 weeks old that went down the Bonneville Salt Flats. It was a great thing you did for your grandpa I wished I had a grandson like you but I don't.
I had a 57' Fairlane with a 289 I maintained it meticulously ,I loved it. I saw many Chevys in my rear view...a few misses but overall that 57' was respected (until I blew it up) sad day.
Ford offered 3 different CID V8 engines in '57. All Y blocks, 272, 292, and 312. The 289 small block came along a few years later. I bought a used '57 Custom 300 in '65. Mine had the 272 . Not monster power but one of my most favorite cars and I've had many cars over the years.
@@dkenmiller9829 A neighbor lady had a '61 Fairlane as I remember a 292. The only way you knew the engine was running was to lift the hood and check the fan spinning. Dead quiet.
Wow, she's a real beauty and an absolute gem. I know I'm very late finding this video, but I must admit, due to the story with your beloved Grandpa........this 1957 red/white on red/white Ford Fairlane with V8 truly IS the most valuable car in the world.
My first cat that I learn on was my dads 57 Ford custom two door post with a 272 V8 three speed. The color was a ugly willow green. The small V 8 ran pretty powerful. My dad was proud that it went over 100;000 without touching the engine. It was a fun car to drive.
Robert Didier Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Your Grandfather must be a very special person to have Father and Grandson go to great lengths to make a senior member of your family relive happy memories of the past, it’s a beautiful car and I know your Grandfather will treasure it. When I was 24 back in 1966 my Step father gave me his 1958 Ford Fairlane two door two tone car (bronze and cream). It was a straight six with bench seats, large trunk and a hood that opened from the front. Ouch! I caught my fingers when Once I slammed the hood down. The radiator leaked and I constantly had to fill it with water once the engine was cooled. I used this car to visit my future wife who lived in Montreal, I in Toronto. The car served me well. My wife always said she loved this car because it was the only car we ever had with bench seats which were great when cuddling especially at a drive-in.
I loved my 57 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible which I bought in my junior year of high school February 1965. I saved up and I paid 450 dollars for it. It was a great car. I sold it to a friend when I went into the Marines in 1967. I still have photos of me standing next to my 57 Ford.
She's a beauty!! My grandma had a black one and for some reason I remember standing up in the front seat at like age two as we pulled into her driveway at night.. Her's had the Thunderbird V8 too .. thanks for the memory!
You should have been oround back in those days, I was 6 years old when these, 57 Chevys, Vettes, Thunderbirds, and, many others ruled the roads, it WAS a magical time to be alive in the 50's!
57 Ford best looking Ford ever! Better looking than a chevy. Explains why they sold more of them . Your so lucky. I'm sorry to hear about your Grandpa.
My first car was a 58 Fairlane with the exact same color scheme. It belonged to my parents, and they gave it to me after I wrecked it. Thanksgiving day in Bend, a community near Red Bluff CA, mom needed potatoes. I was 16 and drove my girlfriend, Carol to the store to get some potatoes, but not before stopping by the Sacramento River so I could show her the salmon spawning in the riffle. Then, heading for the store, she kissed me as I was making a 90 degree turn. I couldnt see, and took out a power pole, which put a large vee into the grill and radiator of the Ford. It also put two dents into the dashboard where her knees hit and knocked out the power to our entire community while their turkeys were in the oven. Carol and I are 71 now, with 3 daughters and lots of grandchildren. She was a good kisser. I spent a lot of time dreaming about fixing that Fairlane. Mom got a new 63 Mercury Marauder, but my first movable car was a Hillman Husky wagon, a British car made of cardboard. I'm in my dotage, now, and have overcompensated. Im on my third Miata. I will never forget the Fairlane. Whatta car.
I just found your video and I Love the Story and the Car T00❕ You folk's are Awesome to do that for your Grand Father.....Just AWESOME❕ I hope he is still around in 2019 almost 2020....I lost my Grandpa at a Very Early age, now I'm almost 80+ years old. My Grandpa was Killed over in the Oklahoma Bad Lands (it was known as that back in the day) He WAS an Full Blown Cowboy.
My dad had one just like yours and I used to get to drive it to car shows with him driving his 55 Crown Vic. I don't have it now because he traded it for a 1960 T Bird. He is gone now and I really miss him and the Fairlane. It was a really cool car and he was a really cool guy.
A super son and grandson. What a terrific way to counter some of the struggles of advancing decline! A *real* memory-lane experience for your grandparents. I'm a subscriber for sure. P.S. Your sister seems a sweetie.
My first car was a 57 Ford Fairlane. It was built for a Ford factory executive and was essentially a COPO car. I heard those cars went through the assembly plant twice. I think this may be true as the trunk was filled with brand new extra parts i.e. carpets, hub caps, floor mats and every manner of expendables. He mentioned the car was also painted twice at the factory. I agree, the car is more appealing that a 57 Chevy.
I enjoyed the video but really enjoyed the story! My dad owned a "57 Ranch Wagon when I was a kid and I recently acquired a '57 Custom that I have begun to restore. 1957 was a very good year, it's also the year I was born!
Cherish those memories, I hope your grandpa is still alive . My grandmother is 104 and doing great. Maybe one day our paths will cross . Godbless you and your family, & please be safe .
When Marjory and I married in December 21, 1956 I had just bought a four door 1957 Ford 500 with big motor with a 4 barrel carburetor. It would squeal the tires in all three gears. The way I drove it got 7 miles per gallon. It was a sort of gold color. Beautiful car.
"Fairlane" was taken from the name of the Ford estate and bestowed on this beautiful car . My Dad had a Crown Victoria Fairlane '55. Very rare as Ford had a strike that year an less production . Any man would be fortunate to have family like you do something that nice for him .
Great video and story, a car video with some substance, good job putting some joy in your grandparents hearts with a real life blast from their past. Cool stuff!!!
I remember that a man across the street from me had a brand new blue and white one, complete with the fender skirts, when I was in the second grade. I used to sit on our porch swing and admire it. I think that's what created my love for cars.
1957 was a beautiful Ford. Ford has many beauties in the 1950s…. Especially the 1956 and 1957 models. Refreshing to see a young man appreciate classic cars and his grandparents. I foresee happiness and success in this guys future 😀😀
Just stumbled across your video. My story: I was a 10yo in 1957, my father was career AF and we were stationed at Tinker AFB in Okla City. My father got orders to go to Karachi, Pakistan and back in those days, families could go, so we did. Before leaving, dad exchanged the car we had (forget what it was) for a brand new 1957 red and white Ford Fairlane 500 soft top convertible. In this day and age, my folks would have been charged with child endangerment because when the top was down, my brother and I would sit on the top of the back seat where the top folded into. When we went to Pakistan, we took the car. Once we arrived and dad started working where he did, a rich Pakistani offered him $10k cash for the car and we could keep it while for the 18mo we were going to be there. Unfortunately, dad wasn't of a high enough rank (he was an officer but not high enough up) or on diplomatic status so it was illegal for him to sell it. We took it from there to Athens, Greece, for the year we were there and then brought it back to the states. On the trip over, the ship's crew would go down into the hold, turn a car on and listen to the radio until the battery died. When we got it, they gave us 1gal of gas to get it going...we couldn't. Dad had it towed to a dealer near the base and traded it in on a new Plymouth Valiant push button drive. I still miss that '57 convertible. It was beautiful, fun to ride in and caught people's eyes. Glad you were able to find that one for your grandparents.
My Dad still has a 57 Ford Fairlane 4 door creamsicle color in his garage. He’s 95 and I think he bought it when it was a few years old. It was the first car I drove when I turned 16. We didn’t appreciate the cars as much then as we do now.
You are very fortunate to have a great classic car like this to connect you with your dad and grandfather and to serve as a channel for the love you share..
The 1957 Ford was a dramatic styling departure from the '55 & '56 models-took a while to adjust to the new style, but my family had a '57 Country Sedan and I gradually grew fond of it.
Had the same red & white Fairlane that I bought in1961 in Denver; then moved to Texas in 1962-1/2. I was always working on it (valve-lifters?). Traded it in on my all-time favorite: a 1963 Galaxie XL, gold bronze hardtop coupe which I drove 'til I re-married, had two kids and needed a station wagon: a '73 Ford with 427-in V-8. Still, the '57 Fairlane was a gorgeous car. Today, I have a 20-year-old silver Mustang which I'm sorta crazy about. You'll have to forgive a soon-to-be 84-year-old!
Well done!love the car and I totally respect your grand dad.he has great taste in cars.i have a 64 comet with the fins, four speed in line six and pretty blue paint. I get the looks and thumbs up everytime I go out.thats just one of my keepers.hang on to that piece of history for as long as you.can ,they are getting harder to fine these days.sweet ride you got !!
Love your car and don't ever sell it. My Dad bought a yellow and white 57 Ford 2 Dr hrd top for my oldest brother first car in 1969 ,after high school he wanted a 67 must gt 390 fastback in 1972, so dad past the 57 down to next sibling brother till his high school graduation in 1975,he then bought a 70 mach 1 .then my next brother in line got it for his first car and drove it till his graduation 1978.he then bought a 71 mach 1 .then it was my turn for my 1st car,and I drove it till 1982. I then purchased a 68 Gt 390 fastback, and Dad got 57 back, and since then it has been in storage for 37 yrs. My Dad has been gone for 10 yrs now,I took over our family car buisness, and am the care taker of the 57 Fairlane Victoria ,oh yeah it was always a hot rodder gasser style, and is still a car no one forgets in our area.it was our families most loved car, even more than our mustangs, and we all still have those mustangs yet. The best days ever. And oh yeah my Dad also owned a 65 Shelby gt 350 for a couple yrs but parted with it for profit, but will always have the memories. Its a car that even hard core Chevy guys would tell me that they loved that car, that says alot about the 57 Ford's, the biggest shame is so many of them were destroyed, and in the Midwest many were junked out because they rusted out so bad around the headlights and rockers.that was one big reason to their demies.
A lot of the chrome is actually stainless steel. Fantastic story behind it, you and your father are really great people. Thank you sir. I learned to drive in a 1957 Ford custom line 3 door sedan and owned one when I was 15 years old in 1965
The story behind why this car is your favorite and why it means so much to you is far more important than the car itself. Cherish it and the memory of your grandfather forever but remember when it comes to classic cars, we are just their keepers and conservators for the future generations. Enjoy your time with this very special car and ignore those who may not appreciate it because it's not their preferred car for whatever reason.
What a fantastic personal story and what a fantastic car! This Ford guy enjoyed your review very very much. Thanks for the efforts your put into this for your granddad and for creating this video.
I dont know who is luckier , your Grandpa for having such a awesome family or your family for having such a awesome Grandpa .......Very Cool 57 Fairlane BTW. I have a 55 Fairlane Club Sedan 2 door HotRod . Great Cars
I love your video, your car and your story, wow! We had a black and white new 57' like yours back in 1957 and I agree with you on the beauty and cool factor of the car.
The 1957 Ford Fairlane was the first car I ever fell in love with and one I think is still one of the most beautiful car designs of all time. You and your Grandpa are two lucky dudes to not only have owned the car once - but twice. Incidentally, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2018.
A red and white 57 Fairlane was also my first car I paid $500 for it. I would love to have it back. My second car was a 67 solid red Fairlane. I loved it also, fond memories.
A 57 Ford was my first car.. When put in perspective the 57 Chevy was in its 3rd year of styling (Tri-five) but the 57 Ford was a brand new model lower and sleeker.
its great your keeping Americas best cars alive. The 60s is when cars started going down hill. my grandma had one in 1960 but it was light blue and white Her Australian Husband took the picture of her on the hood in Michigan also her dream car was a Ford thunderbird 57 but she probably couldny afford it so she got the next best thing. a Fairlane 500
My father had one…I think it was a different model year, but his looked similar to this one. My father also had Parkinson’s Disease. R.I.P. Great video!
That is a awesome story and I hope you will always have it. I am 69 now but when I was much younger I had a GT 350 shelby mustang. This guy wanted to race his 57 Ford Fairlane and same color. I dont know what eng. he had but by 3rd gear I started seeing his taillights moving away and left me. By the way my awesome wife has parkinsons but she can still function.
Damn it's an amazing car. And it's amazing how much you know about cars and how passionate you are about it
Wow, thanks! That's one of the nicest comments I've ever recieved :)
Rennauto Garage any time 😂
Good call! Hahahaha
That's funny! Cool history behind it!
@silverbird58: Jim Anderson had a 57 Ford in " Father Knows Best"
Lee Marvin had a 57 Ford in "M Squad" And let's not forget the movie "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitcham.

I think you have the ultimate vehicle. I love the car...and your storytelling was awesome.
You have a real treasure of memories . Im giving my grandkids the same typy of memories.

Beautiful car, but an even more beautiful story about your grandpa! You and your dad did a wonderful thing.
Same!!! Sounds amazing! Have a great day! :)
The best part of this video is not the '57 Ford (and I have owned one myself) but it's the love you obviously have for grandfather. He is blessed to have you for his grandson.
Thank you so much for watching!
I have a 58 and love mine. Thanks man. Such an awesome story. Your Granddad is fortunate to have a Grandson like you. God Bless.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! You made my day! I bet the 58 is super cool!

@@RennautoGarage You gotta post a picture of grandpa behind the wheel flashing that proud smile.

Thats unreal!~ Thanks for sharing!
@@RennautoGarage Traded her for 1965 Mustang and was $3,500.00 brand new. Found a 57 like I had for $34,900 couple years ago. Oh well.
Caught me in the feel goods when you brought your gpa into it. Never change who you are young man, you'll go far. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful car and what an amazing story....... best family ever for doing this... we lost my grandmother to this disease 5 yrs ago and it's the little things that can make their days left the best
Thank you so much for watching!!!
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Your family is in my prayers.
My brother had a two toned green one with 312 Beautiful cars bought from his teacher in 1970
I have the same car. I had it since I was 10year old. Fully owned it since I was 18yrs. Thank you to my old brother Ross, for all the time he spent teaching me about cars. And holding the 57 for me.
I'm 48 as of May 12, 2019
What a beautiful 57 Fairlane.
Haha that is awesome! It crazy how good watching other people be happy can make you feel! Thanks for watching!
You keep working on it. Grandpa will be watching you from above.
Wonderful video; a wonderful story told very well! Nice job on the Fairlane 500 tour and also nicely done narrative.
That was a wonderful thing you did. It is a fantastic car and also a great story. Thank you so much for posting it on here.
Bless you all. I can quickly tell that you are from a good family with good values. The car is beautiful. There actually isn't a bad car in the 1957 line. It was a banner year for all makes. I envy you being able to drive that car around. You must feel like a king going down the road with that rolling work of art!
Thank you so much! You are too kind. Have a great day!
I had not thought about it before, but you're right: 1957 was a great year for all marques. Why do you suppose that was?
@@Norsaskriv A very optimistic America. Wonderful things happen with that mindset. Bad things happen without it.
My god that is outrageous and beautiful
I AM 81 AND REMEMBER THESE CARS AS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CARS EVER...TODAY THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME...SAD....
So true! Cars are becoming appliances. No as beautiful as they used to be! Thanks for watching!
I remember riding in these cars. Your right they were beautiful
GET WITH THE GOOD TIMES ,, THE OLD CARS WERE METAL SLEDS
Im sorry about your loss. Thank you so much for watching. Have a absolutely wonderful day today :)
Those were the days when most males from 12 and up closely studied all the. New cars each year and new everything about them. Not any more.
Thank you so much!!
So sweet! and of course! Thank you for watching :)
Very touching. I can only imagine how your grandfather felt. What a nice family.
God bless you, your Grand Father, your whole family and your 57 Fairlane !!
The only way you knew the engine was running
was to lift the hood and check the fan spinning. Dead quiet.
Love your car. I had a Fairlane 500 in high school. White over blue. Did the quarter mile in about 14 seconds at 86 MPH. Wish I still had it.
Wow, she's a real beauty and an absolute gem. I know I'm very late finding this video, but I must admit, due to the story with your beloved Grandpa........this 1957 red/white on red/white Ford Fairlane with V8 truly IS the most valuable car in the world.
That is a fine classic car, and you are a fine grandson and your dad is a fine son AND father. And your story is a great one.
My first cat that I learn on was my dads 57 Ford custom two door post with a 272 V8 three speed. The color was a ugly willow green. The small V 8 ran pretty powerful. My dad was proud that it went over 100;000 without touching the engine. It was a fun car to drive.
Sounds amazing!! Dig up some pictures and send them our way!
Way to go! I’m sure your grandpa is just as much a classic as this beauty. I’m glad he had a chance to relive some precious memories with you all.
She's a beauty!! My grandma had a black one and for some reason I remember standing up in the front seat at like age two as we pulled into her driveway at night.. Her's had the Thunderbird V8 too .. thanks for the memory!
What a fabulous story behind this car. I am sure your Grandpa knows he is greatly loved.
He does!! Thank you so much for watching :)
What a super grandson to do that for your gramps TRUE LOVE and devotion Don't ever get rid of that car👌🇺🇸
Thank you so much for watching!!!
To I in it just I'm my to Kiki I know it is on
In 1972 I had a two tone gray 4 door 223 six 3 on the tree absolutely loved that car sold it and bought it back a year later sure miss that car
Love your story, your grandfather is blessed to have you and your Dad, and your whole family.
Whatta car.
So sweet!! Beautiful story! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for watching!! He is still doing well! :)
So sweeeeeeet!!!!
Great story, great car. My dad had one. I can just remember it. Barely.
Thanks for the memories!

Thanks so much! You are the best!
I had one even with the 1975 Dodge Spinners.312 intercepted V8 Enjoy O did back in 1959 GOD bless your Grandpa!
So sweet!!! Thank you for watching :)
Touching. Beautiful. Charmed. Blessings to grandfather.
Very underrated car you got a jewel keep it forever
Thank you so much for watching! Unfortunately, we ended up selling it to help pay for college. Really appreciate the comment! Have a great week!
Oh that's understandable one day you may get another
"Fairlane" was taken from the name of the Ford estate and bestowed on this beautiful car . My Dad had a Crown Victoria Fairlane '55. Very rare as Ford had a strike that year an less production . Any man would be fortunate to have family like you do something that nice for him .
Wow cool piece of history. Thanks for sharing!
There really is a nice and caring grandson in this awful cruel world, very nice story.
Thank you so much! That really means the world to me! You made my day.
Sounds beautiful!!! ITs crazy how our love for cars can begin like that
1957 was a beautiful Ford.
Beautiful story and beautiful car.
I had one EXACTLY like it !! I sure miss it !! Beautiful, fun car ! Enjoy !!
Great story, Your Grand father is lucky to have ! a grandson and son like you guy's
Incredible story! Those are some dope cars!!! Its true the 57 ford was special!! and agreed rust stinks!
Thats, awesome. My grandparents neighbor had one. It was light and dark green. Every bit as beautiful.
So cool!! Thanks for sharing!!
Yes!! I agree. It was about the moments not about the object. Thank you for watching!!
Great Cars
Awwww...made your G Pa cry...how totally kewl is that...!!!!
I had two of these. A hardtop and a convertible. Loved them both. I even had the same dodge lancer hubcaps.
One of my all time favorites as well. Friend of mine had a canary yellow ragtop and a neighbor had a station wagon version.
Well presented story about your grandfather and his first car. Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story! If you ever need someone to talk to let me know! You are in my prayers :)
@@RennautoGarage Thank you, I will keep that in mind.
A red and white 57 Fairlane was also my first car I paid $500 for it. I would love to have it back. My second car was a 67 solid red Fairlane. I loved it also, fond memories.
No way! Times have definitely changed. I wish I could buy a couple for $500! Thanks for watching.
So sorry to hear about your grampa, that is a sweet car take care of it!!!
Thanks! that means a lot! Also thanks for watching! Have a great day :)
A 57 Ford was my first car.. When put in perspective the 57 Chevy was in its 3rd year of styling (Tri-five) but the 57 Ford was a brand new model lower and sleeker.
Very true! The 57 was drastically different than the 56
Love the car, I also have a red and white 57 Ford Fairlane 500 club sedan.
Thanks so much! I love you for watching our channel :)
The short wheelbase 300 series 2door post sedan, with the supercharged 312(3speed, overdrive trans), would be my fantasy ride.
its great your keeping Americas best cars alive.
Great car, Great story. 57 Fairlane 500 are beautiful I love the hard top convertible and the Ranchero
Love the way ya ll fixed it up beautiful car and nice tribute.
