Watch this video to stay informed and take control of your health!
7 Stroke Symptoms One Month Before It Happens
    7. A Sudden Change in Sensory Perception
These sensory changes can pop up in a few different ways. Maybe you're experiencing a kind of numbness that's got you wondering, "What's up with that?"
What’s really going on here is your brain might be having a tough time processing the sensory info it’s getting, which could be down to not enough blood getting to the right spots or maybe some early damage in the parts of your brain that handle all those senses.
    6. Sudden Severe Headache with No Known Cause
This headache is sudden, severe, and without an ounce of mercy. It's like your brain's own alarm system going off, loud and clear.
Here's the deal with this headache: it could signal something serious, like a hemorrhagic stroke, where a blood vessel in your brain says, 'I quit,' and bursts. This leads to bleeding inside your brain, causing pressure to build up fast.
    5. Slurred Speech or Difficulty Speaking
Your thoughts are clear as day in your mind, but what comes out of your mouth is all jumbled up or slurred. But more than that, it's a huge red flag waving at you, indicating something might be off in your brain.
When speech gets slurred or it suddenly feels like a Herculean effort to string a sentence together, it's often because the brain is having a hard time controlling the muscles that make all our chatting possible.
    4. Unexplained Dizziness or Loss of Balance
Sudden dizziness or feeling like you're about to tip over isn't something to just laugh off-it's your brain waving a big red flag, telling you something's not quite right.
The real issue with this dizziness or feeling wobbly isn't just about the immediate weirdness of it all. It's demonstrating that the brain is struggling with some pretty basic tasks, and that's a call to action.
    3. Weakness or Numbness on One Side of the Body
Maybe it's your face that's suddenly slack on one side, making your smile lopsided, or perhaps one arm or leg feels like it's been filled with sand.
This isn't just a weird body quirk-it's a red alert from your brain, signaling something's definitely not right.
    2. Trouble with Vision in One or Both Eyes
Sudden trouble with your sight-be it everything going blurry, seeing double, or even parts of your vision checking out for a bit-isn't just an ordinary eye hiccup.
Here's what's happening behind the scenes: parts of your brain that deal with making sense of what you see might not be getting enough blood. This glitch in the supply line can mess with your vision in all sorts of ways, depending on which brain area is taking the hit.
    1. Sudden Confusion or Difficulty Understanding Speech
This isn't just a brief lapse-it's a significant alert from your brain signaling potential trouble.
This issue can throw a wrench in your ability to comprehend others or express yourself clearly. We're not talking about the gradual memory slips that come with age; stroke-related confusion or speech issues drop in suddenly, highlighting the immediacy of the situation.

This video's value is compromised by worthless, time-consuming filler verbiage, likely done just to make the video longer, and that means fewer viewers will bother to sit through the whole thing.

I AM 70 YEARS OLD, LIVE IN THE U.K. AND I LIVE ALONE. EVEN IF I COULD PHONE AN AMBULANCE WHEN STROKE SYMPTOMS APPEAR - BY THE TIME AN AMBULANCE ACTUALLY TURNED UP [SOME HOURS LATER] I WOULD BE STONE-COLD DEAD. BUT TO RISHI SUNAK AND THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH I WOULD JUST BE JUST ANOTHER STATISTIC OF THE AMBULANCE SERVICE NEEDING MORE TRAINING [OR WHAT-EVER POLITICAL EXCUSES WAS BEING USED AT THAT TIME].

Long before my stroke, I had an unusual neck pain like a stiff neck, and I had fairy tight feeling of a sensation in the one side of the brain that was later to be the part that contained the stroke. A combination of these two made me think I was going to have a stroke and I thought I probably would have one, but I didn’t know what to do since all of the blood pressure medication I was on, was making me sick. I survived a medium sized cerebral hemorrhage. I have no outstanding problems after.

I had problems with high blood pressure medicine too but was fortunate to to hv found a recipe for a homemade mixture on UA-cam. It's actually Ayuvedic medicine. I took this mixture for 2 years but don't have to take it now that I m on the keto diet because my blood pressure is fine. If u r interested, it is made of 1 cup garlic juice, 1 cup ginger juice, 1 cup apple cider with the mother in it, 1 cup lemon juice n 2 cups genuine honey. Mix all except honey n boil over slow fire for 20 minutes in a ceramic or enamel pot. Remove from fire n stir in the honey. Take 2 tablespoons morning n night. Do not take your blood pressure medication while u r taking this mixture. If u r getting better taking 2 tablespoons once a day is enough. Go back to your medicine if your blood pressure do not come down after 2 days. Store in sterilized glass containers. Can keep for 3 months in the fridge.
Ginger is a blood thinner so do not take this mixture if going for surgery.

I have the symtoms and would love to talk to my Dr however there is no point. I had a heart attack and told my Dr the afternoon before it happened but he waved me off. The following morning I had a heart attack and called an ambulance. They said there was nothing wrong but took me to hospital. The Dr in the emergency department said there was nothing wrong but took bloods and wired me for an ecg. Half an hour later he came back and said "You are having a heart attack" No shit Sherlock. Major damage to my heart. Had the warnings for a stroke for a few days now. Accept it and say goodbye while I can still speak. 👋

My mother collapsed at home at 11:00 at night with stroke symptoms. The ambulance got her to the hospital by 11:30…where she sat in the waiting room for 6 hours. She will be in a nursing home the rest of her life. Would she be back home if she had been seen by a doctor immediately?

If only doctors knew this! I was 71 yo when I started having balance problems when walking. I reported to the emergency dept of a major teaching hospital (Sir Charles Gairdner, Perth, Australia) and the doctor who attended me diagnosed vertigo and referred me to an external "balance and dizziness clinic" where they taught me the Epley Maneuvre for a particular type of vertigo. This was a wrong diagnosis and treatment. A few days later I suffered a stroke which disabled me for life and caused me to lose my job. Vertigo is one of the 7 stroke symptoms explained in this video and surely should have been diagnosed correctly by the doctor, especially considering my age.

Thank you for sharing this critical experience. It underscores the importance of accurate diagnoses in healthcare, especially for conditions like stroke that can have severe consequences. Stories like yours remind everyone-both medical professionals and patients-of the need to be vigilant and perhaps seek multiple opinions when symptoms are ambiguous. Wishing strength and continued recovery in dealing with these challenges.

Ninety-nine percent of doctors wouldn’t take you seriously and would tell you that you are just under stress. Then they’d tell you to stop watching You Tube videos and self diagnosing. After your stroke, you won’t be able to find any record of your pre-stroke visit to their office. Good luck to you.

I'm 55 & 5 yrs ago I had a T.I.A. which lasted for 2 days as my so called friend decided that she would rather get drunk & at the last moment possible she decided to call an ambulance. I've got permanent right sided weakness & still have problems with my speech. What this video did to me was make me realise that I have most of these warning signs. Thanks for sharing your video with me.😊🇦🇺

Wishing you the best as you continue to manage and recover from these challenges.

Turned it off after only one minute. These doom and gloom videos have got to go. Lots of people take these videos seriously and you will cause unnecessary stress. I bet the poster isn't really even a doctor. Shame on you. If you think you may have health problems, see a doctor as soon as you can, don't be using these videos to self-diagnose.

Though l agree that the subtle signs that are discussed are realistic possibilities of a stroke, they are also common in many other illnesses. Especially the first few. The latter few are obvious ones that are well known. Only those who are in denial would ignore them.
Unless you have the profile of a typical stroke victim, looking out for, and worrying about every subtle sign will only serve to make one paranoid.

    • @HeartHealthCoach
      @HeartHealthCoach  2 місяці тому

Thank you for your insightful comment. You're right, many early signs of a stroke can be similar to symptoms of other conditions, which can make them challenging to interpret. It's important not to become overly anxious about every minor symptom, but awareness and understanding of these signs can be crucial, especially for those at higher risk. Appreciating the balance between vigilance and maintaining peace of mind is key. Thanks again for adding to the discussion!

Absolutely, many stroke warning signs can also be symptoms of other conditions, which is why they can be tricky to interpret. However, it's crucial to take them seriously and seek immediate medical attention if they arise, as early intervention can make a significant difference in the outcome of a stroke. Thanks for your input-it's important to keep these discussions going to increase awareness!

There’s a way to bypass all 7 of these stroke symptoms. I developed the heart conduction anomaly Atrial Flutter over two years ago, diagnosed by a cardiologist. I was prescribed the beta blocker Metoprolol Tartrate 50mgs 1 x 2 daily which worked perfectly to bring down my rapid heart rate. About 6 months ago I saw my GP for another referral to the same cardiologist as I could tell something had changed. He instantly recognised that I now have the other more familiar heart conduction anomaly, Atrial Fibrillation. This can cause a stroke from a blood clot so he’s now added a blood thinner, Eliquis (apixaban) 5mgs 1 X 2 daily.
I resemble my maternal grandmother who had a stroke when she was a similar age as I am now, 71. I was finally diagnosed with the genetic collagen / connective tissue disorder hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome at 69. I now know how to recognise the physical signs of hEDS - wider apart eyes than usual plus a small, distinct chin. Our facial skin often looks more youthful, e.g. 10-15 years younger than usual. My photo is recent. Heart conduction anomalies are a frequent comorbidity of hEDS. Doctors often brush off the increased heart rate as anxiety and they’re also told in medical school that hEDS is very rare. It’s actually not rare, just rarely diagnosed. It’s now thought to be 1:200. An excellent sports medicine specialist diagnosed me in only 10 minutes. Comparing notes with others with hEDS in my private Facebook group, quite a few of us have had far better luck with a sports medicine specialist or a physiotherapist. I’d been seeing a rheumatologist for several years who never picked it up. I’ve dodged a bullet regarding strokes due to correct diagnosis whereas my grandmother didn’t. She had the trademark smooth unlined facial skin, wide apart eyes and small, inverted triangular chin. I hope this may help someone who reads this. Here’s an excellent website by a female psychiatrist (with a second speciality in internal medicine), Dr Sharon Meglathery. There’s no one quite as understanding and good value as a doctor who has the same condition: www.rccxandillness.com. Another good resource is Jan Groh who’s been involved extensively in EDS research. Her website is www.ohtwist.com. They’re both in the USA. I’m in Sydney, Australia and am now an admin. in a private Facebook group.
