I’m 77 and have bursitis in both hips and arthritis in my lower back. I’ve had 4 cortisone shots in both hips over a two-year period. The shots no longer work. I go for physio twice a week and go to a chiropractor twice a week also. Nothing helps. I can’t stand or walk for longer than 5 minutes without severe pain and have to sit down. I’m not sleeping either. I’m awake every hour to two hours with the pain. And I’m getting really depressed. What are my options?
Thanks for the video. It is certainly going to help people like me who are over 70 years old.
😮
These exercises look simple but they are really effective. Do them and gain good health.
My husband has Parkinson’s .. he was told this little over a year ago and now hard for him to walk, nothing has helped .. will your video help him ?
I’m almost 89 and keep moving. I do leg exercises every morning before getting out of bed, walk every day, even practice walking backwards, helps with balance. My daughter bought me a Fitbit so I try to do 7,000 steps, have done as much as 13,000. Also try to stand straight and eat healthy. With the weather so hot I go to a big box store or mall and walk, like to walk fast. Still drive and do my own housework.
Keep up the excellent efforts you're making!
Wow you the best !
Great God bless
Thank you Will. I'm really appreciating your videos and doing the exercises is good for the body and the overall feeling of wellness.🎉
No wonder! Well done,independent being🎉
Thank Wil I'm 72 now and your video has reminded me what I should be doing every day but have got a bit lazy in my old age. Keep these posts coming sir as they are very motivational🙂
So pleased to hear you've found my videos motivational, that's half the battle! Keep up the great work and you'll be sure to reap the rewards :)
Same for me! I have to get myself moving. Use it or lose it!…Will provides the motivation!😊
Omg! I walk about 15,000 steps a day. I don’t have a car. I am 72. I make all my food including breads. I eat whole plant based food with 2 egg boiled most days and fish most days. I run most days. Recently fell with my standard 80 lb poodle. Ran into his back legs sprinting across the traffic. Went down knocked the wind out of me. Bloodied me up but no permanent damage or broken bones. I think too many people take too many supplements and tout all meat, vegan and what not. Love your food and enjoy life.
You are never too old
@@SinglesAdventures You are an Inspiration to be sure!! You are in Amazing shape! WOW😁
Your mom raised a caring son💕
Thank you so much - I'll be sure to make sure she sees this!
I did exercises like these before my knee replacement surgeries, and I believe it really helped my recovery. I haven't been doing them lately and I have gotten weak. I'm going to start them again today! Thank you for explaining the difference between strength and muscle mass.
I'm sure they will have aided your recovery! I hope my video was able to provide a boost of motivation to get back into them :)
I 'llntey these exercise daily , it is motivational, yhanks
As a disabled person it all helps so thanks will
Yes it does 🙏🏻
It's my pleasure to help!
I’m disabled too. Thankful I can walk
I will try these. I'm 82 and have lost a lot of leg strength and muscle, but I've been going to exercise class and have gained back a lot. As we get older we need to really work hard to maintain. Thanks!
Absolutely, it's all about consistency! Well done on the excellent work you've done to rebuild your leg strength - keep up your great efforts :)
Yes, and the COVID restrictions messed me up at just the wrong age.
I am watching your video right now and I will definitely try doing those exercises and I promise you that I will comment about my experience
Thx a lot 4 the video ❤
Good video.
I’m 74 and will begin doing this immediately. Thank you!
Great to hear you'll be putting this into practice!
Learned something new from you today , muscles and strength is not related . Wow, game changer 👍
Try and rephrase, because muscles are absolutely related to strength. The interpretation is more likely that those who no longer can build muscle or keep muscle mass, still can exercise to build strength. The older we get, the more difficult it is to keep strength. Slight exercise is what is needed for good maintenance.
@@margueriteobrien8833 I did not realize that they were not the same thing either!
So pleased I was able to introduce something new!
I worked with a guy back in the 1970s who was really skinny but he had amazing strength.
Friend, I think he said they’re “not the same”, but obviously they’re related.
I'm over 50 and get sore legs when getting up
I find this video helpful and motivational.
Thank you, Will, for posting this video for seniors to help their independence.
So pleased to hear you found my video helpful! I'm wishing you all the best :)
I turned 50 late last year and noticed through your amazing videos that it wasn't my back but my pelvic area that needed strengthening. I used to hunch forward and as a result my legs used to give in. I went to the extent of doing an MRI to investigate possible MS😮. I've now begun all your leg strengthening exercises in the last 2 weeks n have already noticed a difference in the way i walk. I'm subscribed from beautiful South Africa n have recommended your excellent channel to family n friends. Thank u so much for explaining each exercise in detail n with no nonsense, to the point demonstrations. Hope u are blessed to give us more valuable info on a regular basis.
Hi there - I'm so pleased to hear that you've noticed such a great difference from following these exercises. Thank you for subscribing and sharing my videos with others. I'm wishing you all the very best!
Thank you Wil I have been so worried about how unsteady I've become after not going out much over this long winter we've had, I'm not walking good now, so using a stick. I am 79 and like to keep busy baking, cleaning ,gardening etc, but when I tried doing my usual daily walk when spring came I felt really frightened as to how I had seized up! I used to walk quite smartly for about an hour but only managing twenty mins now. I feel you've given me an answer to my problem and a lifeline so I will start the exercises asap, thank you so much .
I'm so pleased my video was able to offer useful information to help rebuild your strength and confidence with walking. It sounds like you've got a lovely set of activities that keep you busy too, and hopefully these exercises can help with all of those too! Wishing you all the best :)
Wow just come across this its exactly what im after ..I needed this help...my walking has become a terrible problem but this advice is exactly what I need fantastic! ❤
Thank you very much, Mr Harlow. I love your exercises. I am 53 and have lost so much leg muscle strength in the last 24 months I have difficulty getting myself up from the floor. I will do the exercises u taught in this video. Thank you from Singapore
Hi there - I'm sorry to hear that you have lost a lot of muscle strength recently - I hope these exercises prove beneficial for you - I'm wishing you all the best :)
Blue moon,
Learn to do Taichi exercise in Singapore.
Be at any park before 6 am. MRT stations open at 6 am. If you go to exercise after 7 am, most seniors are done with Taichi exercise.
I am a Taichi exercise instructor in USA. Lived four years in Singapore for my high school education.
Good luck.
Hi
Why you got muscle lost so much in your leg.
Have you took any medicine for treatment of cholesterol.
Please explain sir if you don't mind.

So pleased to hear you found my video helpful!
Thank you will, you are a very kind person!!
It's my pleasure to help!
I let my mother watched your video.. It helps relieve her arthritis... She is 62 years old... I'm happy she feels better.. Thank Sir for sharing your talents... God bless ❤
I love your videos. I’m 72 years old. I’m in pretty good shape. But your exercises are excellent.
But also, I really think that your style, your demeanor, how you talk, how you explain things is so wonderful.
You have a real talent for connecting with senior people. I would almost call it elegant. Thank you so much.❤
I just did a set of these and went for a walk. My knee didn't hurt once! Wow! Will def continue to do them! I didn't realise there was a difference between the muscle mass strength and neural network strength! Maybe I have weak neural network, and that's why it's made a difference already after just one set! Thank you, great video.
I'm so pleased to hear these led to such an instant, noticeable difference!
Thank you from Romania, Transilvania. You are really good.
Thank you so much! Sending best wishes to you in Romania :)
Thank you. I never knew building muscle and building strength were 2 different things.
Me neither. When I switched from all jogging and aerobics to weight machines at the gym at about 46 years of age, it was because the previous summer, those old exercises didn't help me tone an trim after winter laziness. Since I could see muscle building on my skinny frame, I equated it with strength. Now I'm 73 and for me was well as many others the COVID shutdown marked my bad attendance at the gym. Though I tried, ballet and yoga exercises at home, I was no longer disciplined and lost weight, strength, and muscle mass. I was sure the muscle loss was the only problem. This is SO encouraging! ❤
Just wanted you to know that I and a friend, both in our 80s are enjoying your channel in Canada. I use some of your exercises every day and they are making a positive difference.
Hi there - I'm so pleased to hear you've found my channel helpful. I'm sending best wishes to both you and your friend!
Thank you.. I’m 62 yo and I know it will help a lot .. for seniors like me.. ❤
Good day. Thank you for the very helpful physical exercises for seniors you are teaching. They are a great help. I will be 72 years old in 2 months time and have been fairly active in my younger days with tennis, cycling, golf, and gym work among other activities. Turning 60s was not much of a problem physically, but hitting the 70s, one really notices the loss of strength, stamina, and balance. Seniors really must spend some time for exercise to maintain their health and keep their balance to avoid falling accidents.
Happy birthday for 2 months time! I'm sorry to hear you've noticed difficulties with your strength and balance. I have lots of videos on my channel for these different issues that you may find beneficial as well. Sending best wishing to you :)
Thank you, Will.
You're welcome!
I am doing the exercises, this is my third day already and I believe I already feel the difference on my left knee. Thank you.
I've been working w my senior Mom for almost a month. It works for her n it's totally awesome. She's doing stuff w/o her cane n feels more independent. TYSM!!
*Tell your families and friends about this channel, this can benefit and make them, healthy too* !!!
What else I do, so I don't forget, I will video each exercise onto my cellphone, this way, I can use the video
on my phone and it would be easier to look at . But I do this AFTER , I first watch Will Harlow entire Video.
I make it easier for myself . And I also add it on, My Favorites. I will always make a Short cut /Save it .
Hi Will, I am doing theses exercises and many more from your previous videos, and I am feeling very satisfying results as my legs were very weak because my ankle could not take weight of my body. I have hyper mobile ankle. Can please make a video on this topic
76, getting TKR in 2 weeks, I will add to my doctor's recommendations. Having foot issues makes some exercises impossible. Thanks!
Good luck with surgery, Mountain Gran. You will be so happy to be free of chronic knee pain. I've had both done❤🎉
I feel fortunate I came upon your channel. Love your presentations and I’ll definitely buy your book. Question…….could you do a video on pre play exercises that would help keep us from hurting ourselves…..for those of us that have caught the Pickle Ball craze. So many of my friends over 50 are straining, tearing and injuring themselves by, what I think is, not warming up properly with proper exercises. Thank you for what you’re doing to help us. Best to you always.
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind comment, I'm so pleased to hear you've enjoyed my work. I have the following videos with pre-exercise tips which you may find helpful!

This Video is God sent rather I should say Will sent for me. I am 72 years old . Due to fibromyalgia and arthritis I am not able to walk as much as I used to . Hopefully with these exercises will be able to accomplish my goal again . Thanks for all your motivation and hard work.
May I complement my experience with what Will has given. I’m almost 60 and had a bad injury on one knee 10 years ago. It lingered on and was recurring frequently with water logging. My physio then advised the leg raise exercise mentioned in the video.
Slowly I’ve developed my muscles to complement the knee. Today I can do elevated squats with dumbbells totalling 22 kg(always with knee support). I do some trekking and a lot of motorcycling in the mountains and dirt.
Just keep at it guys.
Great video I am 85 years old and I will do all three exercises
. Thank you very much Will
Hi, Will, I'm 80 and find your exercises and advice really helpful. Thanks so much please keep the info coming.
Iam on the exercise now and already my knee is improving. Thank you very much for your vetoes to help people like me.
Will, you are an amazing physiotherapist. You clearly know and understand your trade so very well. Your exercises have helped me tremendously to rebuild strength following a knee injury. All best.

Thank you for demonstrating those simple exercises, very helpful. I also like it because I didn't have to watch a video for an hour to get this info.
I am 70 yrs. Had Neuropathy last year. This impacted my hands and legs and I have continued doing all my home work myself but with a lot of pain. I started doing some of your exercises to help me walk without pain and I am glad I am pain free while walking. I will now be doing these exercises for mind muscle builf
That is fantastic to hear, I'm so pleased they offered such relief to keep you walking without pain. I'm wishing you all the best!

Another great one Wil! Thank you.
Happy to help!
I tried this exercises and for sure I feel a pinch in my right knee and hip…so I know things are weak and out of alignment, but I will continue these exercises for the next 9 days and see how things work out. I’m 62 and pretty much only do 2 mile walks a few times a week. Thank you 👍🏽
Thank you again for this. God bless you ❤ .
You're most welcome☺
Hey Will, I really like this exercise! I performed 3 sets of 12 using a 25lb dumbbell while alternating between 3 sets of 20 heel raises. I experienced delayed onset muscle soreness for a few days, but I’m recovered from that now. Thanks for the guidance!
I am 71 though i don't these exercise but i walk regularly 45 minutes in morning and 35 minutes in evening. But two day gap make me lazy and no appetite .but i will start these exercise too
Will, I have done a form of these exercises but followed them w lengthening the quads w lying on the side, bending the knee backwards so that the heel touches the bum. 30 seconds.
Thank you for your advice! I have a knee injury now but, will be following your direction as soon as possible.
THANK YOU, I’m having trouble with both knees, they shake and I have problems walking so I’m going to try these excercises, I’m 70 and been a strong sportswoman all my life so having this problem it’s stopping my life.
I'm 72 and have had a number of injuries to one of my legs; consequently it is considerably weaker than the other. These isometric exercises are just what my legs need, thank you!
I'm glad my video is able to offer the help you need! I'm wishing you all the best :)
I am 72 and have very weak legs. Going to start these exercises today! Thank you!
Ienjoyed you clearly explain, will start doing these, along with my pickelball playing, 70 yrs young.
❤❤❤❤😊 I’ve had two back to back surgery in February. Just finished physical therapy and still walking with a cane. Thanks for this.
I hope it proves helpful for you! I'm wishing you all the best in your recovery journey 😃
Like the video… it’s short , cover’s full detail and not unnecessary lengthy.
Though I am already 80, I’m going to give this a try. Bought your book and am learning a lot. Wish I had known you 20 years ago!😊
Hi there - thank you for buying my book, I'm so pleased to hear you've found It educational. I hope these exercises prove helpful for you!

In the last year I have had severe back pain which turned out to be a collapsed vertebra. I also have compacted vertebraein my lower back, which make my legs rather weak. This isn't just due to age, I am 84, but radiotherapy I had, for cancer, some years ago. I am certainly going to use these fantastic exercises to help me to get my leg strenght increased. Thank you.
Hi there - I'm sorry that you've been experiencing back pain and leg weakness. I hope these exercises prove beneficial for you. I'm wishing you all the very best :)
Great tip. Raising the leg also improves the abdominal muscles too
Thank you Will you’re the man 👍
Thank you so much!
❤ Will , so glad to watch your channel especially this video. My quads have all but disappeared the past 2 years (70). Ridden horses for years, walk dogs every day, but had 3 falls over last year, latest New Years Day tripping over a broom hamdle!! Bad concussion. These exercises and explanation are ideal. Thank You.
I'm so sorry to hear about your falls and the impact they've had! I hope these exercises offer a practical starting point as you begin rebuilding your strength again - I'm wishing you all the best :)
These exercises are so very helpful. I look forward to your new videos every week. Thank you Will!
So pleased to hear they're helpful - thank you for watching!
Just discovered your video.Maybe- I needed it.God sent .🙏🙏
I'm so pleased it came at the right time for you!
I’m 73 y.o. and suffered a mild stroke just a year ago. I still have the tingles on my entire left side, from head to toe. Even my left ear is affected! Can these help me? My right knee is in bad shape, and getting up from the floor is incredibly painful and to be avoided at all costs, at this time.
Thank you. I will let you know how I get on. I have severe arthritis in my knees and lower back so I promise to be careful.
As usual Will your exercises are so simple but so very effective. Thank you very much for reaching out to us who are over 50.

Thank you for these specific exercises I need to strengthen my legs prior to hip surgery,
I have degenerative discs so maybe need to go carefully with the band one ?
Thank you your videos have been a great help for me.

flattening your back to the floor is essential. Or as my trainer says "Pull your bellybutton to your spine."
Im over 60 and recently had knee operation after injury.the exercises are exactly what I need.

Definitely going to do these. Due to ankle injury, my legs have gotten away with murder😂
I'm sorry to hear about your injury - I hope these prove helpful for your legs!
I have been watching and doing a number of your excellent exercises for post TKR rehab. I am nearly 12 months post surgery and still get occasional knee buckling so have started these exercises. I can really feel my quads being fired up already after two days. Thank you Wil
you are a good boy thank you for giving exercise knowledge
Thanks a lot. I ' m a 60 yrs female, undergoing Artheritis joint pain. My doctor introduced the 2nd exercise to strengthen the muscles of the foot .

Hello
I started these exercises just a few days ago and already it has made a huge difference
My knees are not as sore, can climb stairs without having a lot of pain and able to walk at a decent pace after many months.
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Will I think your brilliant I have learnt so much from your program keep up the good work

Thank you 💕 Will, am definitely going to do these exercises from tomorrow morning. I'm 70 and I do have problems with my legs and back.
I hope they prove beneficial for you - wishing you all the very best :)
Your videos are excellent and inspiring. They are more helpful than I have gotten from physiotherapists. I cannot believe how weak my legs have become in the last 3 years! I am 81 and have been trying to build up my strength and BALANCE. I cannot walk very far, and need a cane for balance as I’m afraid of falling. I cannot walk up and downstairs without a railing and my cane!
I am going to work on these exercises faithfully and hope that my legs will get stronger.
I hope these exercises prove helpful for you! I'm wishing you all the very best :)
Spot on! Thank you for such encouraging words and exercises that doable.
I turned 50 about a month ago, and I know this guy will save me from a lot of my future troubles ❤

شكرا جزيلا 😊
Thank You Wil your videos are very much appreciated.
Very happy to help :)
I am sure It does help, I was already doing those exercises but thanks 🙏🏻 to this video it has confirmed now that my legs 🦵🏼 are stronger due to these exercises 😎
Thank you for such good information. I am 64 years old and have a bad back. I follow all your feeds and do a lot of your exercises. I enjoy walking so a lot of your info is relevant to me. I live in sunny South Africa. Karen
Hi 👋🏾 Will! I’ve been wobbling trying to walk,I knew that I needed to gain strength in my legs 🦵 if I would be able to walk normal again. I started doing the exercises and after doing them for just a few days I truly felt a better pep in my step, I thought it was gonna take longer for me to feel some strength in my legs! Thank you so much, You have inspired me and all of us with your exercises! Question: we have to do these exercises on both legs right? You usually say what you do on one side you must do on the other side, I didn’t hear you say that with this exercise 😮!
That's me but I had a severe stroke 2 years ago and have had physical therapy andy legs are still very week and wobbly I have had back pain from surgery a few years ago and a total hip replacement but I'm thinking about trying this anyway
God bless you keep up your good works
I will surely do it .I am 61 . Thanks for sharing.
