Just had this fix done today. My 22 is at 13000 miles. My cruise was intermittent also with the same concerns he outlined in this video. Hopefully this is the long term fix, but it did work as I drove it home today.
I have a slightly different problem. When the steering wheel is cold the buttons for my radio controls change their function, usually volume up will change to media selection, volume down will not work, and right skip will be left skip instead, and occasionally the buttons on the left side will do the same thing. It is a 2019 f-150, and this can happen on a cold morning or if the ac is blowing too cold on the steering wheel.
Replaced that twice (tried a new unit, no change, put original back in) in my 2013 250 plat 6.7 new unit did not fix it, it was the bcm...had corroded pins on the bcm from the sun roof...symptoms were no cruise, headlights low beam only, no turn signals, before changing the bcm had to drive it 32 hours home.
Question. I have a 2017 with the same issue. New switch. Same issue. If my truck is emissions free will the dealer be able to reprogram that module without messing up my custom emission free programming?
I just bought a 2017 F250 Lariat. Cruise “on”, “off”, and “set + and -“ work, however the resume and cancel buttons do not. I installed new buttons and I have the same result. No codes showing. Could this be my issue?
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Well, it was, in fact, the clock spring!! I just replaced it with a new one, and everything works perfectly. Thanks Arod! Without seeing this video, I would have never guessed this. I even spoke with a couple Ford techs, (before I saw this video) and they had no idea what would have caused it. ugh. Thanks again Sir!
Yes I can confirm that forscan should work for this. I just replaced my sccm in my 22 f150 because I added the heated steering wheel. So before removing the old SCCM I used forscan to “save” the settings for the old one. Then remove and replace and use forscan to load the saved values back in and everything worked. 👍
I have the same issue and u just replaced the clock spring and it did not fix it, I also did not update the clock spring since I don’t have a scan tool I wonder if that is the issue
I traded my old f250 on a 2022. A feature my new one doesn't have that I miss is Adaptive Cruise Control. Is there a way to add that since it didn't come fro.the factory with it?
All 2017 f250 have a recall on a reprogrammed pcm maybe reprogrammed the pcm without changing that part since on the comments it says you still have to reprogrammed it
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Have a 450 with intermittent lighting issues on left side only, kinda doing the parts cannon, cant find any wring problems. plow trucks lot of salt in all the wrong spots..... inside and out
First off I have replaced literally hundreds and hundreds of steering column control modules and as a blanket term we call it a clock spring that's what we have called them since they came out with them so yes I did watch the video, as a matter of fact I will be replacing 4 more on 24 MY Explorer Aviator at Ford Diagnostic Service Center on Monday
....eCAT Theres a clockspring Theres a SCCM.... ...the problem was NOT the clockspring. I called the part what it was......so it wouldn't be misleading. I didnt tell FORD the clockspring was bad.....

Hey buddy, thanks
I have a 2020 F350 XL with no cruise.
Can this process be duplicated (plus add the steering wheel switches) to add cruise toy truck?
Possibly

good work. nice to how to do it.
My 2012 cruise shuts off when I hit a bump. What could it be?
I have a 2018 f450 platinum throwing a bunch of lights no buttons work on my steering wheel. Or the blinkers. No clockspring & sccm (I think)
Great video ARod

I mean it could be the clock spring too. Better do the right pinpoint test

Would a 2012 F250 speed control be the same part. My cruise doesn't work but the info button works on the same left side control. Thanks
