wow, the flowers so gorgeous. I live San Jose, and I don't have big space to plant the proteas. so I planted in the containers, and at least 10 plants have died since last summer.

I have many in containers doing well - I water them almost daily in the summer

I’m in fair oaks and just got a yellow and gold protea from around Pismo beach about 2 weeks ago. 108 the other day and some leaves are drooping. They are in black plastic pots that I just lined with foil. I’ve been rotating them from full sun to under my skylight on the patio to indoors. Scared to leave them out all day in the heat. Maybe I’ll move them to some shade in the afternoon. When should I transplant to the ground?

@@tonymarvelous6338 Hello - I have some in pots outside and they get morning sun and shade after 12:00 - when it is over 100 degrees I water them daily - I would plant them in October...
