Alcohol is basically fermented sugar, yeast. Many also consume mixed drinks, high fructose corn syrup. Q: does the diet trigger gout or damaged kidneys and gout is the warning- your body trying to rid the body of uric acid healthy kidneys would normally filter out?
Diets very high in some of the foods mentioned above can contribute to the development of gout which is why it is important to moderate the intake of them, even more so in someone already diagnosed to reduce the severity. The kidneys do play a role in regulating products which need to be passed out in urine, but they can only work at a certain rate so if there is an increase of things which need to be filtered they can accumulate if not cleared quicker than their production.
Exactly , been avoiding meats, fish, beer but just what i did a day ago I ate halve a watermelon and a lot of dates, got this gout attack that seem to came from nowhere. This explains a lot!
Learned a lot more , avoiding pork(what have these poor animals been eating?) , shellfish , farmed fish, certain vegetables containing oxalates and now only eating beef , organic eggs , lamb and chicken , animals eating enough grass and having enough place to live on . This stopped my gout completely after years of suffering.
Very informative. Re beer. My theory is that it is not the beer its the high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) they put in beer, very common in American made beer. Google "8 beers to stop drinking immediately" to find a list of beers that contain HFCS. The article also points to beers that are healthier to drink. Last Summer i switched to German made beers and did not suffer any gout attacks (caution: Becks is now made in the USA and may contain HFCS).
As a gout sufferer for twenty years i would like to add some input to this conversation. The recommendations made in this video are a good general guide but not by any means carved in stone. The best preventive advice i ever recieved was to drink 8 ounces of non homogenized lowfat milk once in the morning and once at night. (I just drink 1% and it works fine). I still get the occasional flare up mostly from eating processed meats such as ingredients in italian hoagies, sausage, hot dogs (i believe it is sodium nitrates causing this). I also had a bad attack after eating scallops. Some people i know have different "trigger" foods such as shrimp or beef and beer. Every case is different
@@jacquelinedavison4765 boyfriend: Great point, different foods will trigger a Gout episode for different people. I was really into sweet tea and the high fructose in it along with some meats increased my chances and of course, I experienced a very painful episode.
I'd endured the intense pain caused by gout for a long time, though I had taken every medicines my doc recommended me to. But it did not work for long.
Cane sugar is glucose and fructose combined, so a high intake of cane sugar may contribute to gout because of the fructose. Corn syrup is 100% glucose, so a better choice for gout.
Kin, I know what your saying but it doesn't have to be that drastic. I encountered a very painful episode of Gout a few months ago. I didn't eat meat for 3 days , cut back a lot of sodas and sweet tea and ate a lot of veggies and fruits to fight off the gout with a lot of water. The Gout left after 8 days and I just watch what I eat a little more. I still have a great tasting steak once in a while. Good luck
I went into shock Because I eat cauliflower, mushroom, asparagus, spinach and salmon all the time. Omg!!! Sardines and lamb. Everything bad for gout. 😭

Good information, thank you.

During my gout attack, I drink alkaline water and tart cherry juice. This helps alleviate the pain caused by gout.
I'm going to try that too.
hey, my client diagnose as Δ end stage renal disease, recentle potassium is 2.9 ... what can I recommend on client diet to help her?
My question are drinks with sugar cane rather than fructose and corn syrup, is that the same effect?

Drink lots of water and it will help with avoiding gout and other health issues.
I've been researching ways to treat gout and found an awesome resource at Nakedra Remedy Plan (google it if you are interested)
Excellent

Is there anything you can do or take to help the body get rid of uric acid? Like drinking lots of water or, supplements like the fish oil?
Not that I know of. It's more about preventing the build up in the first place
Listen to your body, it will confirm most of this advice.
Sounds like I only can eat veges like a rabbit, smh I feel depressed
