You're right about it being car focused, gravel car park and the bikes round the back by the tradesman's entrance doesn't exactly send out "Motorcyclists Welcome" vibes. As for the place itself, I'm not convinced, it looks a bit soulless but I'm sure over time it'll build up some character. As for the business model, what a clever idea to run ticket only for weekends and theme evenings, a guaranteed income from the people who spend more time in the car park than they spend money in the venue. I'm sounding more cynical than I am, anything that injects life into even a few of the country's abandoned pubs is great as fast as I'm concerned, especially if the offer is well presented and good quality. PS Monika don't trust him, you'll arrive in Calais to find France is shut. .
I enjoy your St Albans accent Freddie. Love how you say hour as 'aaaarrrrrr'. Good episode. I live quite near the Stratford upon Avon Caffeine and Machine but never really go. Prefer riding my bike than hanging out in car parks looking at others 🙂
Hi Freddie, great upload as usual, we have one near Stratford on Avon but we also have The Piston Club (on the A46) which I think is much better. Situated between Alcester and Stratford and it's free to attend. Sunday morning and Tuesday evening are the bike meets. I can recommend it if your in the area. It's also about 3 miles from the ABR festival 👍
My favourite channel on youtube, and I don't even ride bikes. I'd love to. I just worry about the danger aspect. It only takes one mistake. But for now, I will live vicariously by watching this channel!
1. Indeed, on a bike you don't even need to make a mistake. You can just have bad luck. A good friend of mine died riding when he hit some oil on the road while going around a corner. He ran straight under an 18 wheeler and left behind 2 little children..
Your intro, as you prepared for the ride and prepared your audience for what you had in store for us was simply, perfect. Style and class, and approachability beyond compare. It's surprising SKY hasn't abducted you into a presenter role with them.
A great ride out if you like cars, sadly I've found bikes don't have the same enthusiastic welcome. The Petersfield location (The Hut) is just across from Loomies, a biker cafe, a popular meet for bikes. Have a great adventure Freddie and Monika...good luck, if it's down to Freddie you may find the country you arrive at closed 😂
Never heard of caffeine and machine prior. Love it. Reminds me of a mini bike shed. But even more do love that they saved an old pub/site to bring it back to life. Wish the states had more of this stuff.
Thank you for this Freddie, I have been residing in Bedford for the past year and I had no idea that there was a caffeine and Machine more or less on my doorstep. I rode up to the super sausage last week and then stopped at Woburn Triumph for a coffee and cake on the way home. I now know that I have somewhere else to frequent. I am from Kent with family originating from London and everyone thinks I have a London (cockney) accent haha
Freddie and Monica, I just realized I remove my hand from the mouse when I watch your videos. Your's is one of the few channels I don't skip through. Great work!
Wow, Freddie, the bonnie looks so good, and from the video is handling and running smoothly. Joe did a great job. Your bonnie is going to be the stuff of legends!
On your French trip, go into Normandy and pass on your respects to all those who gave you your freedom to ride. Visit the beaches and the cemeteries and say thank you to them all. That would be a ride with true purpose. Your freedom is down to them who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Next time you venture into Kent, check out the “B-Road Hunting Club” in Challock (same vibe), then ride 3 miles or so to Chilham for a coffee (beautiful medieval village)
Great video Freddie as always and the bike looks fantastic. It was great to meet you in person at the recent DGR in Tamworth/Hinckley and to ride with you and other like minded motorcyclists raising funds and awareness for mens mental health. I hope Monika is recovering okay and that she likes what Joe from the Wurks has done with Bonneville
Lovely to see the old Chequers pub brought back to life. I expected it to either fall down or suffer a “mystery” fire, but was amazed to see the builders onsite and what they produced.
Great video, been to that location a few times now. The booking fee is only at weekends and you can reclaim the full amount when ordering food and drink. "The Bowl" refers to the banked high speed testing ring just behind the pubs location which is part of the Millbrook Proving Ground.
A ST Albans boy Freddie , I worked for the courier firm in Hatfield Road , visited the old tower and been to The Horn of Plenty and nearly hit the roundabout at the top of the high st in fog one night , and there was the bike shop along London Road by the mini roundabout , Caffiene and machine a friend went there with her partner and was less than impressed getting charged a tenner to just go in for a drink , so not sure about that one , if in Bedford try Woburn triumph theres a cafe there and a great bunch of people meet there too
You know the world is going nuts when people pay to get into a café-and the place was half empty! With Freddie organising everything for a European trip-what could possibly go wrong, Monica?
Meet at the local McDonald's and you're a loser, meet at a cafe hours away and you're a sophisticated petrol head... Nice place to visit if local or passing, but no different from any other beefeater carpark.. stay local and support your local cafe and businesses where possible.
hahaha.... it will run like a well oiled machinery. Oh wait, there's Freddie's well cared for and maintained history of bike-manship, truly exemplary of Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Oh well. Makes for more content! I can't wait!
Once again, that was nicely done. It is sooo important that we, as enthusiasts, continue to gather at meets and shows. The anti fun groups are vigorously collaborating to outlaw our fun, so we have to keep it going at every opportunity. I have a hard time grasping all of the regs and BS you have to go through over there with your MOTs and noise restrictions. Keep on Keepin' On!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the summer, Freddie. When I lived in Michigan I adored the summertime. But, in southern Arizona, it’s not as pleasant. It hit around 43 degrees here yesterday & will continue to do so for the next 3 months. I tend to look at it as ‘winter’ here & the summers are late fall & early spring. I’m not complaining, but I do miss those soft, northern summers from time to time..
I recommend Abruzzo's mountain roads in Italy, Freddie. My favorite destination, less than 2 hrs away from Rome - where I live. Worth riding there for every biker who love breathtaking mountain views, windy roads, clean air, and superb food.
What a wonderful Sunday morning. Mostly videos from the U K areas and saving Freddie's video for the last. I wish there were coffee venues like this in my area of the U S. Seems like McDonald's is always my go to place. Always a cheap blend and interesting seniors to talk to. "Showing my age"., sad but true.!! Still riding and enjoying. MONICA, please go over some of Freddie's itinerary. Lol. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Wonderful video, Freddie. Thanks. I am so impressed with Bonneville - Joe at The Wurx did an incredible job on it - I don’t know if restoration is the proper word for it as I think the bike may be better than it was when new from the factory.
Reminded me of the same business model i saw in my 20's in Australia. Back then until today it is replicated by rev heads all over Ausiie to revive the life of many smaller outlying communities by apealing to those who want a destination to ride or drive to that caters to other motoring enthusiasts. Akin to the similar concept of The Ace Cafe you'd recently visited, as are many Roadhouse/Truck - Fuel Stop. In saying that... Love the name of that place there "Cafine & Machine" mean as it gets, Btw your pipes sound just as mean Mr Freedy Dobbs
only come across your channel recently but love the videos looking to get my bike licence in the next 12 months keep it up man your videos are my go too calm watch after a busy week and great content to learn new stuff
Your review videos of bikes are great, but they can't compete with the vibe in the videos when you get to enjoy your own Bonneville! Can't wait to see the Europe tour 🙂
The bonnie looks superb Freddie, have seen all your videos and enjoy them a lot. You have a relaxed, natural and gifted presenting style thats quite unique, this together with the fantastic and very professional filming quality from Monica pretty much outshines anything I have seen on youtube to date. At the risk of sounding patronising a big thanks for the content, the hard work it must entail and letting us all share a bit of your energetic lifestyle.
The Hondas are all Civic FD Type Rs (except for one Integra type R). They were only ever made for the JDM market and are the last of the naturally aspirated vtec’s before the turbos came in. Lovely machines.
I got back from a trip to France last weekend and can really recommend Dijon, stay in Chateauneuf en Auxois and enjoy the nearby sights and roads at Vezelay, Chateau Chinon and Recey sur Ource. All about 400 miles from Calais ! Add Soissons, Chateau Thierry and Troyes to the stops.
Very lovely video. Thanks Freddie. My local Caffeine and Machine ( Stratford) is very poor: rude staff, appalling food and a very arrogant attitude in general. Will try this one sometime instead. Avoid the Stratford one!
Another great video Freddie, really enjoying the channel, I can’t believe this place has gone past me unnoticed, iv never been, and the embarrassing thing is I live 25 minutes away, it’s on my radar now, thanks.
Freddie, I have 3 Harleys in my garage and none of them have UK legal exhausts. In fact one of them actually has a plate stating ‘competition use only’. However they all pass MOT. The trick is to find a test garage who are not fussy about noise. The garage I use is in Essex, so not too far from you. I won’t put their name on here, just in case…… but if you want their details, just drop me a message 👍
Morning Freddy and Moniika… it’s a beautiful sunny day so I’m hitting our local artisan coffee shop here in Tetbury and I’ll watch you guys later … enjoy your Sunday 🤗
Great video Freddie. Just back from a little trip from Holland on the bikes. Stayed at a place called Balk about 100 km from Amsterdam. Great place and superb roads, can highly recommend.
Chanced on the Stratford one. Got away with not booking and not paying the fiver as it was Best of British day and we were riding a RE. Whilst I’m happy to reserve a table at a particular time in a restaurant and pay a service charge it’s not something I’m happy to do for a cafe/pub. I’m sure it will do fine without me - the front car park was rammed with Aston Martins, F1s and Jags (bikes British or not stuffed out the back)
Looks great. You should come down south to the other new C&M in West Meon. You also have loonies on tje other side of the road which is a bikers favorite and the pub with no name just up the road. The roads are great for biking as well.
There’s no noise check as part of a bike MOT. some at most will note very noisy exhausts as a minor advisory but I have shot guns on my XC1200 scrambler and it never gets noted at my mot station.
Next time you are in Bedfordshire try Emma's Cafe at Pure Triumph in the village of Woburn. Look forward to your French Adventures ,i would recommend la Motte B and B for visiting the D Day historic sites . Run by English couple Bill and Carol it is set up for bikers with covered bike parking and communal dining area set in the beautiful Normandy Countryside.
I’ve always wanted to go to caffeine and machine ever since it opened but being on the south coast I’ve not got round it, just looked up the new locations to find out one of the new ones is only up the road 16 miles from me, I’ll definitely be going to check it now 👍
Lovely nod to Rob Burrow and the amazing Kevin Sinfield....your quietness spoke volumes of respect...no words needed....thats how its done....class
You're right about it being car focused, gravel car park and the bikes round the back by the tradesman's entrance doesn't exactly send out "Motorcyclists Welcome" vibes.

seeing you back on Bonneville is somehow comforting Freddie. Stay safe. F
Thanks very much- it feels brilliant
Love the 'nod' to Rob Burrows!
‘That scares me’. Monika has such trust in you Freddie! 🤣. Lovely video as ever. Best wishes to you both, Paul.
I enjoy your St Albans accent Freddie. Love how you say hour as 'aaaarrrrrr'.
Good episode. I live quite near the Stratford upon Avon Caffeine and Machine but never really go. Prefer riding my bike than hanging out in car parks looking at others 🙂
Happy sunday Freddie & Monica & everyone! Excited for some calm & cool content!
Thanks Kaizen, have a great day!

Good to see you in the Baffle Haus T-Shirt...off there this morning from Bristol with my son on 2 T120's!!
Ahhhhhh John! If I lived nearer, I’d be there every week! Have a brilliant ride in two of the retro kings🏍️🏍️🖤
Now that’s a proper bikers cafe!
My favourite channel on youtube, and I don't even ride bikes. I'd love to. I just worry about the danger aspect. It only takes one mistake. But for now, I will live vicariously by watching this channel!
Worry on brother!
Risk and reward. Don’t regret the things you didn’t do.
That means a lot, thanks Dean!
Dean, are/where you too worried to get married in case you got divorced? Motorcycles are the love of my life 😊
1. Indeed, on a bike you don't even need to make a mistake. You can just have bad luck. A good friend of mine died riding when he hit some oil on the road while going around a corner. He ran straight under an 18 wheeler and left behind 2 little children..

Since watching Joe and Emily's pastiche, I have to smile now every time I watch the prelude to Freddie's videos! 🤭
Its almost like they dont want bikes there - massive car park but bikes go round the back on a tiny shitty bit of old patio.
It's the same in the original Stratford Upon Avon location. It's almost like bikes are tolerated, not welcome.
Very enjoyable video , the Bonneville looks wonderful and is as much a part of the channel as you and Monika !... you can never ever sell it !! 😊
Thanks very much, I LOVE it🖤🏍️
Thanks very much, I LOVE it🖤🏍️

Bonneville. Louder than words 🙂
What a great vlog!
Hava a nice weekend Freddie & Monica ❤
Another superb video Freddie, the countryside is magnificent and to see these cars was brilliant.
Delighted you enjoyed it!
Hi Freddie, following you from Switzerland. Your doing a great job, I love it. Best, Beat
Wow, Freddie, the bonnie looks so good, and from the video is handling and running smoothly. Joe did a great job. Your bonnie is going to be the stuff of legends!

Freddy: “Thank you”
😂
Watch out Monica, don't leave all the planning to Freddie
😂
Happy travelling😊
As always, nicely done Freddie!
Superb channel. Reminds me of watching the travel channel years ago...only better with focus on motorcycles. 😎🍻
Looking forward to your upcoming "shrouded in mystery" European adventure !
I think Frey dobs is a nice enough guy, he has no rude rep.😊😊😊🎉🎉❤🎉❤🎉
I love the Bonneville. It looks perfect.
Lovely gloves. Great old-school dash. Excellent cafe. Nick
You know the world is going nuts when people pay to get into a café-and the place was half empty! With Freddie organising everything for a European trip-what could possibly go wrong, Monica?
Paying to get into a cafe is nuts 😮
Greed!

@plumpii7177 . Funnily enough. I've Started using McDonald's quite a bit lately. 😂
hahaha.... it will run like a well oiled machinery. Oh wait, there's Freddie's well cared for and maintained history of bike-manship, truly exemplary of Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Oh well. Makes for more content! I can't wait!
OMG!! What is this.. an hour ago my mom, wife and me watching your Honda Transalp Yorkshire Trip series and I here it is you with new video.
Thanks for watching, Aniruddha:)

love the classic cars in the car park
I’d take the Merc parked right outside🖤
Thanks Freddie,
Lovely video as always.
Big respect and all the love ✨️🙌🏻✨️
Freddie,if you're in charge of planning everything,Monika is scared with good reason...😜😜😜
Greetings from Valencia and keep up the good work! ✌✌✌
I cannot be trusted😆 Hello over in Valencia, Jorge👋
@@FreddieDobbs 🤣🤣🤣👋👋👋
The sound is great, a typical British motorcycle sound.
Leave it to me 😂 famous last words...lovely video, thanks Freddie ..
ie there will be no planning at all😆
Nice to see you back on your Bonneville. We are enjoying watching The Wurks and wouldn’t have found them without you.

One of my most favourite youtube channels, Great videos
Wonderful video, Freddie. Thanks. I am so impressed with Bonneville - Joe at The Wurx did an incredible job on it - I don’t know if restoration is the proper word for it as I think the bike may be better than it was when new from the factory.
What a great looking hang out Caffeine and Machine and looking forward to the Euro trip.
Great video. Lovely place, and people.. thank you for the comments about the Merc. Made my day...now thinking I should maybe keep her.!
Cool Baffle Hapus T-shirt Freddie 😎🏴

Monica - Good Luck with many many miles as pillion. The tool roll will need to expand for a trip abroad, it IS a Triumph!!
Two things I love. Bikes and rugby league...You nailed it for me today :)
Yay! Mystery Europe trip! Right on!
Your review videos of bikes are great, but they can't compete with the vibe in the videos when you get to enjoy your own Bonneville! Can't wait to see the Europe tour 🙂
Great video to chill out to on a Sunday morning, stay safe, ❤
Hi Freddie i dont know who chooses the music for your streams but its perfect amd relaxing .A great way to spend a Sunday . Great stream thanks 👍👍👍
another great vid guys............ i would be in a world of trouble if i lived that close to a Starbucks !!! :)

Petrolhead's haven...to museum very soon.
Me encantan tus videos porque me relaja verlos, es como una terapia de fin de semana. Saludos desde México city
That's definitely one for my "places to go" saves on google maps.
Thank you, Freddy and Monica! ❤
This video just melted my petrol head heart ❤
Bike looks great Freddie. Sounds even better!

Hi Freddie, Don't worry about your exhausts. There's no way they can be as loud as mine and I got through the MOT no problem.
Great video Freddie 🎉Happy Sunday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I really can't shake the feeling that Freddie is playing John Blackthorne in Shōgun. Their voices are the same.
Morning Freddy and Moniika… it’s a beautiful sunny day so I’m hitting our local artisan coffee shop here in Tetbury and I’ll watch you guys later … enjoy your Sunday 🤗
Thanks Guy, have a great day!
I like quiet motorcycles. Loud are exhausts are not for long distance and if don’t wear ear protection there’s a price to pay later on.
Great video Freddie.
Just back from a little trip from Holland on the bikes. Stayed at a place called Balk about 100 km from Amsterdam. Great place and superb roads, can highly recommend.
Hi Fred, You might enjoy a ride out to Box Hill, Surrey. Every Sunday.
The Bonnie looks very good Freddie.
Great vid Freddie as always
Chanced on the Stratford one. Got away with not booking and not paying the fiver as it was Best of British day and we were riding a RE. Whilst I’m happy to reserve a table at a particular time in a restaurant and pay a service charge it’s not something I’m happy to do for a cafe/pub. Great stuff! :)
There’s no noise check as part of a bike MOT. some at most will note very noisy exhausts as a minor advisory but I have shot guns on my XC1200 scrambler and it never gets noted at my mot station.
Good job it looked like the rain held off. Otherwise that Danny guy would have been out in his shorts and tee shirt getting soaked.
