Man one of the best things that i found of having a home gym setup is squatting barefoot it's great, also squatting butt naked it's the best
My but.thole feels weird though, like it's gonna open up no homo
@@DatBoiLui i want proof u should send me a video no homo
😂
Squatting naked wouldn’t work for me because at the quarter squat level my Johnson would be banging the floor.
My balls get in the way. I need a ball sling.
The rock 1/4 rep belt squats like a beast! I hate you for marking this
Pretty sure he has bad knees
@@Phoenix11720 right so who cares how he works out and why should you train like a guy who destroyed his knees?
"bad knees" exist because they aren't trained properly. I have met people who can squat ATG literally without an ACL or MCL from being hit by a car. Knees generally don't go bad. They get bad from skipping leg day and having imbalances.
He has a wide stance. His depth is fine.
@@jerrijuelz3795not one rep was 90 degrees
Just started doing belt squats 3 weeks ago. They are a game changer
I hope youre going deeper than the rock
Best squat Machine in the gym. I'm surprised most gyms don't get them
Ikr?
I wish more gym had this and vertical hack squat!
@@AlejandroSanAntoniowhen you say vertical hack squat are you referring to the V squat machine (close to vertical).
Depth
I didnt see any depth
as deep as a rain puddle
Has left the chat
He is squatting the depth that the machine allows
@@dancingbabybins
Lol no he is not. Belt squat allow you to do ATG squats. They are built like that. He is artificially cutting the range of motion short.
Man you are such a positive vibe
definitely should go deeper here imo
Have one of these at my gym and love it especially when I’m training by myself.
quarter belt squat gang checking in.
My gym recently got this exact machine! Havent got to try it yet though
Is it made just for belt squats? I’ve never seen this before
@@tomwandersee73 yup!
Mobility man strikes again
"The ROCK HALF crushes belt squats."
There, fixed the title for you.
He’s half squatting 💀

Love the indian coach jacket🔥😍
Nice half squats there
Tom Platz would disagree .......
but I love this excercise too lol 😆
why is the dude on indian team's jacket
He coaches Indian Olympic weightlifters
If only gyms near me had proper equipment for gains. All commercial cardio focused gyms.
His depth leaves much to be desired 😒
They clearly still grow at that depth.
@J S big enough to fulfill my functional and athletic desires 😐
Please do the Swing Squat machine and the Pendulum Squat machine 🙏🏻
Now I just need a TYR Anabolic Stack 💪🏻💉💉💉💉💉💉💉👍🏻
I would like to point out the rock is doing half reps. I would not call that crushing anything half assing it.
Do you coach the Indian Team? What about the tri colour on your jacket?
Wish my gym had one of these…😞
I’d like to see the rock preform manual labor tasks
Lmao what
@@benjohnson4925He’s suggesting that he would have trouble doing any real world labor because of his terrible mobility.
When he gets into wrestling shape he is probably capable of some labour.
If I can build squat 405 but can only do 315 for a back squat. Does that mean that I'm only weak in the spine and upper torso limiting me to squatan extra 90 lb?
How much weight is this? Love the belt squat myself and just recently started doing it. After a few weeks I did 2x what I do in normal squats quite easily pushing past 200kg for 10+ reps. While I would never be able to do even half of this with the bar on my back.
doc told me not to do squats or deadlifts.
but he didnt say anything about this 😎
Defs get a second opinion my dude
@@mattpatt199 second opinion told me to just do very light. not to go over 85lb. 😢
to be fair tho when i do lift 85lb im in pain. but i still go through with it. 🥵
This is what I use cus I've slipped a disc
I did these today for the first time, I am never doing leg presses again
Wake up at 4am
Skip breakfast
Skip shower
Go to gym and do balls exercises
Big strong balls = healthy balls
Baby rep rock
I don't know about you, so can you explain why the reason why he is rocking in a track with Indian flag on it, please?
GREAT INFORMATION THANKS
nice rom, Dwayne
If you got scoliosis, good form won't help that much in other types of squat.
Didn’t speak on his depth though . Am I the only one who thinks a little more depth could benefit him ?? Or anyone for that matter
Yea he is half reppin for sure. But it's the rock so everybody is scared to call him out on it
I mean, he could be, but he could also be just focusing on training glutes here.
It's the main reason I like to work at a gym... After closing can do all exercises barefoot...
Yo even his feet look strong as hell
Not that I know anything but shouldn't he try to go lower or because of where the weight load is (& weight amount), it is optimized.
I want to love this exercise but the range of motion is balls
So Arnold and all those bodybuilders from the 70's working out barefoot where right all along!
For the inexperienced, squatting at or below parallel is for the Quads. The Rock is clearly training his Glutes here. Tension is lost on Glutes in those bottom ranges. He may be doing Quarter Squats but its serving its purpose.
Also, he could be on his final and heaviest set where he expects to only works partials, after doing sets with full range of motion.
I wish i had his gym...
For the flag and you ❤❤❤
I love belt squat, but I can’t do it anymore. Idk why but I get really light headed after. Think it cuts off circulation or something. I just do front squats or zercher squats now.
Sounds like pussitis
@@AnusRipper-2000 I’d love to see your bitch ass do a zercher squat
@@MrObasiah Ohhh so scawy he angry ohhh 😢 he called me mean word
@@MrObasiah Oh mommy I can't do this machine it makes me little head dizzy OHHHHH nooooooo 😢😢😢
@@AnusRipper-2000 are you actually trolling on a UA-cam short? Got nothing better to do?
The depth is terrible though. He needs to lower the way and get down
Tried these, but the belt crushes into the front flare of my pelvis. Unbelievably painful for me. Suggestions on alternate belts?
I've been trying to work belt squats in and I love them in theory but I can't seem to get them to work for me. Every time I try them my lower back gets super fatigued and I have to quite because of that way before my legs give out and I can't figure out why that is.
Are you from India🇮🇳❤️
No but he works with a lot of Indian Olympic Athletes.
Is that a belt deadlift?
How can I modify a piece of gym equipment to resemble this? Thanks so much 👍
Use weighted belt to add weights between your legs. Place your feet on an elevated platform, soo the weights wont knock the floor for every rep and also to add depth to the squat.
Would you still recommend barefoot squatting if someone (me) has flat feet?
absolutely, just spread your toes out, especially the big toe
Would these be better or worse for preventing abdominal hernias?
XD
I’ve had an hiatial hernia for 10 years. Just learn to brace your core correctly and you’ll be fine. Breath into the obliques.
Better, shouldn't have it tensed or atleast not nearly as tensed as bracing a normal squat, but it kinda sounds like you need to work on your core and bracing anyways but if its the difference between you lifting or not if the pain just isn't worth it do something you can and will do n work at it, pain will go away eventually brother just stay consistent n get good sleep
I've been managing two abdominal hernias for a couple of years (did not want surgery during covid) and these should be...a bit better but not much.
Whenever you are lifting very heavy you will engage a valsalva reflex and increase your abdominal pressure. If you are prone to herniation there is a chance you eventually will cause one. I did, two.
Best things I have found to manage these:
1) leg press instead of squatting/deadlifting, with torso caved in a bit.
2) never going under 10 reps at rpe 7 so I control exertion/valsalva conciously
3) lunges/atg squats for 10 are king.
4) no amount of technique can prevent hernias. They just happen when the tissue is under enough load. In my case, I was born with an abnormally separated abdominal wall, so I'll have to keep them in mind when lifting heavy.
Wouldn't the belt press adversely against your lower back? Causing anterior tilt and whatnot?
I mean yeah if u have anterior pelvic tilt u want to prioritize hamstring glute and lower back and NOT quads i uhh i think. But i could be wrong!
I have the problem that I can’t really load my legs because of my weak back. Whenever I do squats or deadlifts my back gives out before my legs do. I compromised so far by using the single leg versions so I don’t have to use so much weight. But what can I do to strengthen my back. Should I do squats and deadlifts with focus on the back and do an extra leg workout?
How is ur back even failing while squats, there isnt any muscle thats being worked while squating other than legs
@@CHEESER7 you place the load on your back don’t you? So yeah, the back muscles (I’m talking Erector spinae and Quadratus lumborum here not traps or something) are heavily invested for keeping you upright
If you care about the competition lifts so much then yeah strengthening your weak links is necessary. Do additional exercises for your back and core but if you only care about getting strong and big legs, I think you're good with exercises that don't load your spine. Getting more out of less weight using different techniques or like you said, doing single leg variations are good as well. Longevity is key
@@CHEESER7
That genuinely makes it seem like you've never done a real set of barbell back squats.
@@GlacialScion bruh ok, i have never felt it on my back , only the pain on the traps for heavier set(cos of barbell resting). maybe my back just isn't that weak
What are your thoughts on the squatmax for a person with a bad lower back?
Is a Belt Squat more glute or quad biased?
the positioning of your feet and the width of your stance can change which muscles in your legs are being targeted, but essentially the belt squat Builds tremendous strength in your glutes, hamstrings, hips, lower back and upper back while increasing lactate threshold, rate of force development and dynamic strength endurance. It's an excellent exercise for powerlifters, and fighters.
my feet sweat and worried that if i squat barefoot i’ll slip
Rofl
damn the Wock knows University of Squat
Half reps…
C'mon Rock , that's No Rep it's a cheat Rep !!!
Looks kinda like when a tall dude tries sumo
Bruh why the hell can’t I find a gym that owns one of these. Anyone got any tips on how to find one?
Hold on guys let me just take off my shoes and socks before we start🤡 low key though I do wish so many things weren’t as weird because so many modern norms are just straight up destructive
theres a reason gym socks are known to be disgusting. dont want anyone stinking my gym up because they dont want to buy the proper shoes.
How is it even possible to contradict yourself that hard in a single comment 💀
@@meeton2990 what exactly did I contradict. I made a joke about how weird it would be to do something like that, and then said it’s a shame that it’s like that because in truth a lot of the normal things we do like wear shitty shoes that destroy our feet suck. There was no contradiction.
@@truckin3266 you make a good point. I make damn sure I wash my hands after using the mats in yoga 🤣 have already almost gotten pink eye. However if we weren’t confined to socks and shoes that harbor bacteria there would be no such thing as “smelly feet” so there’s that too. Our modern world has its cons. Maybe one day it’ll be a perfect harmony of nature and technology and we no longer have to manipulate natural things so that we can live comfortably
I would not listen to this individual about squats. Your spine is designed not to compress by putting weights on your back, no matter how good your form is or the load. Basically, don’t squat more than 100 lbs on your back. Barbell squats will screw your back up almost as bad as car accident, just slower. Do Belgian or belt squats instead. Do not compress your spine. As you get older, the discs naturally get smaller and the flexibility goes down. It’s from our bodies not being able to retain water like we use to, and the natural cycle of wear and tear. Go look at Ronnie Coleman, enough said.
Ok, I won't listen to an expert in the field, I'll listen to some random dude that uses Ronnie Coleman as the reason not to do squats over 100lbs. 😂
Fix the title for you! THE ROCK 🪨 HIGH SQUATS!
Look at those gripper
That’s why I wear thin soled shoes.
India shirt ❤️
Is squatting with socks on as good as bare foot? I don’t like showing my toes off in the gym 😂
Either this guy knows something that i dont, but if im on a call with someone and he keeps on saying “this may sound redundant guys”, im gonna lose my shit.
Revolt Fitness has the best belt squat attachment! Cheaper than these huge machines
Look at all those plates, sweet baby Jesus
Not that impressive. ROM is not that great, it's sumo stance and the lever on the machine allows to put on more plates than he actually is able to lift. Aaaand he's on steroids.

Not too bad🤷🏿
Nice jacket
So this is called the ball squat
What’s a good excerisw that can really target your quads? Barbell squats, leg press, and hack squats don’t really do it for me and I don’t feel my legs being worked on no matter how much weight I do or if I have a negative descent
Try starting with leg extensions and leg curls maybe
Do sisyphus (sissy) squats. Tie a band to something sturdy above you and grab it to ease into it.
@@urbangrower1136 I do everytime before legs
I feel my legs in leg extensions and leg curls but nothing else in any other exercise not even Bulgarians

Try heel elevated heel squats with narrow stance. Sissy squats are harsh on the tendons so ease into them. Start assisted until you're comfortable

More common in powerlifting gyms and athletic facilities than commercial gyms probably rare in upscale commercial places too
Why do you have Indian flag on your jacket?
What’s your opinion on box squats ?
The rock is getting old and that means he has to be more careful with his workouts! Gotta protect your spine when you get to 50 YO!

How do you release and step out of it?
Will I get the same effect of barefoot squats if I keep my socks on? I don't trust the floor at my gym

Barefoot 5 toe shoes may be a better choice if you're scared of the floor.
Pretty much the same if your socks aren’t very tight.
You will slip so be careful
