Thank you Johnny Sins, I finally feel safe in my own home now!
Facts!!! He make it so easy
Excellent Video! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you ever tried - Mahorrla Defence Wisdom Method (should be on google have a look)? It is a great exclusive guide for securing your home from danger without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cooworker after many years got excellent success with it.
Wait what videos am I watching again now?! I really need to stop
@@lokiodinson4804 you’re watch Johnny Sins Entertainment Inc
He’s a doctor, an astronaut, a police officer and a home security expert. 😂😂
Thanks Johnny sins! Great vid, much appreciated!
Step by step. Thank you for not assuming we know what's in your head already. Too many videos are piecemealed. You rock.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
😮😮😮 I'll be half that way in a minute. I hate that too.
Hello Jeff, thank you so much for your no-nonsense and clear instructional video, it’s much appreciated.
I just installed the 8 piece kit today and it is VERY EASY to install and setup. It took a little over one hour to set everything up and test it.
You were right, the Ring products are really great! You can choose a system for your home, alarm security kit with 5 piece, 10 piece and more as much as you need it for your home protection!
Yes for sure! The main thing is how many doors / windows you need to protect. Great value for the price!

Dude you should get a award for this video. After watching this video my confidence to instal this changed from 1/10 to 10/10. Keep it up legend!
Thanks for the Ring install video. I was doing this on my own, and with just a couple little hiccups it is up and running! Great instructions!
You made installation look flawless. I just ordered my ring home security system. And I was having panic attacks. Saying to myself OMG more technology I’ll be calling support. But hopefully not 🙏🏻

My husband is currently in the field and leaving for deployment soon. So I’m just here setting all of this stuff up on my own and your video was so helpful. Thank-you for helping me gain some piece of mind to sleep a little less on edge tonight😅
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this helpful video. I had a few more Ring products to add, but found the task daunting until viewing this video. You've inspired me to finish it. 👍🏽
I'm happy it helped you out! Thanks so much for watching!
This was the most detailed review , I ever watched , Thank You , I am a new Supporter
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate it!
Great video. I've had this in its box since Christmas '18. Just moved though, so I'm glad I have a brand new system to install to add to my stick, doorbell and doorbell 2 and a flood light. Thank you!
Doug M I’ve had mine in the box for 5 months lol
Thank you for doing the video. I am comparing home security systems, and have two questions 1) What would happen if the intruder smashed the base station before the alarm notifies the monitoring company? 2) Can this system use cellular communications, if the internet is not available?
Thank you Jeff! I just installed the Ring security system! I’ve had the doorbell camera but now I feel better since I have the system!
Jeff- your video is very informative and very helpful for a person naive to security system. It would be very helpful if you could layout the placements of the each device or Areas where it would be most efficient to place those devices. Like where to place Range Extender, Base station and other units.
That's a great idea and I will also be making follow-up videos on each product and giving my updated thoughts and suggestions. I'm glad you mentioned that.
Grabbed this on prime day. My opinion, don't use sticky tape. In time it will fail and as luck will have it, it'll be while armed. Always screw sensors to door/wall. You'll be happy you did. Thanks for the video too!
great video, I have many questions perhaps you can help with?
1) how many additional door sensors and movement sensors can you add?
2) Are there batteries in them that need replacing or do you charge them?
3) Is there an external bell or siren?
4) Can you have multiple key pads and Sirens on the same system? I currently have a keypad by the front door and one on the main box in the lounge
5) I notice there is a slim magnet option, do you know what that is for?
6) are the movement sensors pet safe?
Thank you and great videos, very detailed and interesting to watch, I hope Ring pay you with commission or discounts, its videos like this that will make me purchase the alarm
I'm not sure how many sensors you can add but I know you can add a total of 100 devices to each address in the app. Each of those motion sensors or door and window sensors run on a battery. You can replace the battery when they go dead. I don't believe there is an external alarm but I have heard a rumor they are working on one. Yes you can add another key button station to the alarm. The motion will detect pets but you can play with the settings and get that working the way you want. Ring isn't paying me any commission for this video I just like their products maybe one day they will 😉. Thanks so much for watching I appreciate it!
Jeff Lepard thank you for taking the time to reply, I am in the U.K. and the alarm should be available early November for us.... great channel and great video, thank you!🙂👍
I could not have done this without you. Trust me I tried! Thank you
Thanks Jeff! This helped me decide whether I wanted this security solution.

HI JEFF IM USING ring security system do you know how Cuz I was in the video about it thanks.
Thank You Jeff. That was a good video explaining the Ring alarm home security installation.
Thanks so much for watching I appreciate it!
Ring has a huge sale going on right now. I just purchased the 10 piece security system. 2 floodlight outdoor cameras and a doorbell camera for less than $750

7:00 Install Range Extender
9:30 Install Ring Keypad
13:00 Install Contact Sensors
16:30 Install Motion Sensor
Thanks for the time stamps I should start posting this in my videos!

No problem
just decided today that I need to purchase a Ring Alarm, then tonite I saw your demonstration pop up on my screen How amazing is that!!

thank you! I’m setting up some Ring products for my moms house and your videos helped a lot!! God Bless!
Thank you for such a thorough installation video! 👍 My system is on its way and I can't wait to install it while I watch this again 😉. Again, thank you!
bought ring unit at costco today and watching your video and installed it in about 1hour .. sad part about this is now my parents and brothers will want me to install ring unit at there homes so they all can cancel their god awful expensive ADT or Xfinity alarms services. :-) will tell others to watch your video tutorial... thx again..
Looks like you just got yourself into more work to install them! lol. Thanks so much for watching I appreciate it! Thanks for the support!
Hey Jeff, I purchased the 14 piece system and am tackling the install this weekend. One question ,how did you hide the cables from the base station and keyboard? I hate having visible cables
Take the cable off completely, since the keypad has internal battery. once it goes low after few months, you re-connect to charge back up.
bruce I have behind my entertainment center. Just sitting on the table where the TV sits.
Plastic molding or mount above the outlet make small 1inch hole with spade bit and snake the wire in wall to the outlet from mounting space
this is the best thing i have ever had as a security .. i recommended
Thanks Joe for watching!
Installation went great with your step-by-step directions. Thanks a lot Jeff keep up the good work. You made it so easy for someone like me. Merry Christmas and happy new year my friend.
That's awesome I'm happy that worked out for you! I appreciate that! Merry Christmas as well and have an excellent new year!
This is the best video for the ring security alarm. I have been wanting to buy it for some time now. Might just go buy it tomorrow
Thanks so much for watching I'm glad this helped you out!
Observation, why did U put the base station over the door frame ? Why wouldn’t u put nearer to the AC outlet by the key pad so u don’t have cords running everywhere ?
The client wanted it installed in that location. Room was limited for them I believe.
Excellent training, this will make it easier to install, since I have a head start.
thanks for that. just reviewing different systems to decide which to take. I have a ring doorbell, so this is potentially ideal for me. Great video demonstrating how easy it is to set up. very much appreciated - thank you
Great I hope that helps a little bit! Thanks so much for watching!
@@JeffLepard Ity did indeed. I bought the alarm system and have it now installed. Im struggling however with the bypass motion sensor functions. Is there an easy way to Dom this. example - if I am working upstairs, I want the the downstairs sensors active, but not upstairs.
Also, I may be away ( or home ) but want just certain sensors bypassing. I may confine the dogs to one room, or allow full movement downstairs - so , may want to bypass one, two or three sensors.
the only way I can find is to do this manually sensor by sensor?
thanks in advance

Who would have thought.. Johnny is actually a real handyman! No without joking.. really informative video! Thanks
Great video just installed our Ring Alarm thanks for postings dude. These Ring products are amazing
Yes I love them they are great! Thanks so much for watching!
It is the motion detector also a camara ?
Or video recording means if someone past by from of it I will see the person?
@@rinconcitotropical248 No, you can by one of the indoor cams to get video, however; they will not kick-off the alarm (i.e. only record & notify you of motion via app alerts). Maybe integrating with IFTTT (automation site) will help. I'm just hooking up the 10 pc pack with Doorbell and in-door cams in a week or so and will update how things go.
I just love watching your videos over and over again.
Thanks so much for watching!
Over and over again? Really? I agree that it is an informative video.
Thanks UA-cam dad this was very detailed!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
great information, great system thank you. if you receive and alarm you can look at your security cameras and then call police. all from your cellphone. ring makes security cameras. the security cameras are connected to the cloud and the cloud will hold the streaming video. some cloud services are in the range of $30.00 per month. if you run the security cameras to a NVR then you can use the internet and the router that comes with the internet. make sure you have enough band width to handle the WiFi
Thanks so much for your input Lawrence I appreciate that! Definitely need high speed internet I even had to upgrade mine before the install of my first camera.
BIG SHOUTOUT much appreciated! o7
No problem 👍 Stay tuned in for the new generation 2 version of this alarm install coming in soon. Thanks for watching!
Thank you amigo 😆🙌🏽 from Houston Texas 👍👍
Nicely explained.. how about camera setup? Does it comes with camera as well?
Thanks, these do not come with any cameras.
Yes
Perfect all the way through set up pal. I’m far from the best with this stuff and reading from manual. Well recommended to watch. Easy does it. Thanks.
Great honest and informative video ! Except for the monitoring fees that you can choose, is there any other monthly fees ? What is the solution for their erratic movement detector ? Ths
The only other fee's would be if you currently have any additional cameras but if you do your plan will max out at about $90/year for an unlimited number of cameras per address.
I love your video, everything you were doing was great and made it so easy for me to make up my mine to purchase a ring kit. Thank you so much for doing this video I really appreciate it.
Appreciate Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Mahorrla Defence Wisdom Method (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for securing your home from danger without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my friend at very last got astronomical results with it.
Wow very informative thank you! Sending my friendship here. Full support hope you too
Thanks Jeff! You made it look easy! Hopefully should be fairly easy on my end too! I appreciate the video.
It certainly is easy I'm sure you will do just fine! Thanks so much for watching!
You should of imsalled the active part of the sensor on the door jamb, and the magnet on the door. Slamming the door all the time could wear and tare on the sensor, but not the magnet. IMO
Yes that is correct especially if the door you are installing it onto crashes against the frame. This door is fine so far no issues with it at all. If I do an updated video on this I will certainly mention that as an option when installing. Thanks so much for watching!
I'm wondering if I'll have issues with the contact sensors, as my door jamb and window sills are not flush like in this video. This means that they'll either sit in an offset position and possibly not work, or I'll need to modify the jamb and window sills so that they align... Which is a lot more than I wanted to do.
Thanks Jeff, I will be installing my this weekend. I will go step, by step with your set-up.
That's awesome I hope everything goes smooth for you!
Brad how did it go? I’m installing mine tomorrow
This guy doesnt blur enough personal info. I was able to see the adres. Great vid tho.
It's ok it was the clients address and it is a condo building so the apt number is hidden. Thanks for the support!
@@JeffLepard awesome im happy to hear that!! Keep up the good work man

Ideal for secure when leaving or at night , any sugestión for outsider alarm detector? thanks in Avd.
Ring also has outdoor cameras and motion detectors
Thanks Jeff. What size drill bit did you use to drill the holes?
A well detailed bro thanks for sharing it 😊

Got to ask but can you change the sensitivity of the motion sensor if you have cats and secondly how long do the batteries last and can you change them easily good video tempted to buy it answers would be nice mate

@@Aviation_Racing RIng needs to improve their motion sensors. They work erratically many times
@@Aviation_Racing Ring even sent me an email recently which I still have. Ring recognizes they have had several complaints on their motion sensors picking up movement at times.
I have heard this but I haven't experienced any issues with them yet.
No way! You're in North York? Close by I'm in the GTA as well. Great video man. Thanks for the info
Jeff "Def" Lepard, what does 4k mean? I bought this system from amazon yesterday but it doesn't say 4k anywhere
The 4K is only for the UA-cam Title video search. Video was shot in 4K.
@@JeffLepard so misleading...
@11 11 Nope, it misled me. U might want to simply TAKE it off. If you can't? Then it's intentional.
: )

@11 11 Well it Mislead me bud! Big Time... I think John Miller might agree...
excellent video....very thorough step by step installation.....i really appreciate that. can't wait to get mine
Thanks for video. So what happens when the alarm goes off next? You hear it on phone and call cops? There is nothing “outside” of a loud noise to alert anyone but you while your at work right?
And does this record so you can watch ?
When the alarm goes off you get notified on your phone. If you are paying for monitoring then someone from Ring monitors even if you have your phone off. All the alerts and door openings are saved and if you have cameras hooked up as well they are synced together.
Great Video, you make everything very clear & explain in detail.
I have my alarm to fit with extra sensors & door/window breakers, I guess it’s just a case of add whichever you have and want to add ?
Stay Safe Pal 🤜🏻🤛🏼
I returned mine. The brand new motion sensors were not working. Would not trigger alarm at 2 feet
I bought 5 motion censors and I installed 3 motion sensors. Certain times it would work and other times it would not. The woman specialist had me doing tedious procedures with no resolution
That's horrible so the motions sensors were faulty.
@@JeffLepard I was certainly surprised and disappointed. Ring employee did emailed me back telling me they have had previous complaints on the same problem. I still have the email
Hopefully they will get to the bottom of that and correct the issues.
William Gregory that’s concerning they are still selling items they knew to be dodgy. Especially when it comes to home security. I hope this has been updated by firmware or device by now ? That would be enough to prevent me getting the system.
That's a good idea.
Thank you for sharing.
We had 2 of them one in the front door and one in our back door.
It really help.
Great video but we didn’t get to see the motion detector work.......I’m assuming you got it to work.

I love ring alarm I swear almost we fail in problem have adt system with 3 year contract plus 28$mo told my brother why did u take this deal just go and by self home security system and we did cancel in 3 days before have that contract for 3 years
And the camera wow I can talk and see Live Photo just wow
Yeah for sure times have changed in home monitoring. Just purchased one and found this very helpful 👍🏻
Ok
Thanks so much for watching!
just wondering the battery life of the sensor & door/window triggers... any ideas? thanks for the video btw
One sensor one contact dafuq ring think I live in an igloo
Yeah I know for most people they want the larger package with more sensors and motions. This was just an apartment so the client only wanted 1 of each.
Lol
That contact sensor was set up backwards. The reed sensor for the magnet is on the left side. Contact sensor will work for a few months, long enough for the magnet to weaken then stop detecting a closed door. Otherwise great install.
Edit: to be clear, you could have either the sensor on the door or frame, the issue is the detector for the magnet is physically soldered to the left side of the sensor for this model which is why the sensor is keyed on one side only
you went through some effort to not show your address, only to show it at 20:15
Yeah I knew I saw that. That's ok though its an apartment building where I installed that and doesn't show the unit number.
I’ve been waiting for this alarm to be available in the Uk, which is due on 7th November. Now, watching this video, I am somewhat unsure whether or not to purchase it. An ethernet (wired) connection would be more reliable and secure to the base station. However, although you can determine the length / duration of when the alarm is activated, an outside powered siren is needed to get a neighbours attention. You should have the option for either a battery or hardwired keypad, as again, adaptors, power sockets and cables are becoming an ugly sight in todays technology in homes. This would mean hiding wires behind walls or going for an professional installation which may not be cheap. The audio sounds sound cheap and only wish these sounds can be updated in future firmware updates. Overall, from what I’ve seen, I’ll score 6.5 /10.
Wow i'm surprised this hasn't came out in the UK as of yet. This has been out for some time here in Canada and the US. Yes of course the Ethernet cable is the best option for sure. I imagine that there will be an answer to that having an outside siren. There has been a bunch of people commenting about that so I'm sure Ring is probably aware of it. The good thing about the keypad is you don't have to use the wire but in this video I left it plugged in. You can always use it wireless and charge it only when needed. Thanks for your input and commenting I can't wait to see what upgrades will come along with the next one or something to add onto this set.
@@JeffLepard there already is..
Perfect addition to your Ring home. Hellotech.com
Absolutely! Thanks so much for watching!
Suggestion the sensor should be on the side of the brace and the magnet on the door....the door opening and closing could damage the contacts... great video
I like it nice when your system is on the wall
I had a ring. About 2 and a half years of it sitting next to my front door it stopped working. Called ring tech support. They informed me it was no longer under warranty and informed me the solution was to purchase another one......yes, brilliant solution. Brilliant customer service. Like i said, i "had" a ring.
That's crappy that happened to you. I haven't had any bad experiences yet I have had a doorbell that didn't work and was easily exchanged from Ring.
I have a different CCTV system but by the same company Ring I finally feel safe in my own home
Which ring cameras would you suggest to add to the system, if possible? I'd like to put this system in my daughter's salon with 3 cameras.
Great video and thanks!
Thanks a lot. Watch some of your RING videos. Gave me the confidence to do it. Thanks again. Jeff
I'm happy that helped you do your install! Thanks so much for watching!
I wonder if they have different packages maybe something for the windows to or two motions detectors
There are different kits available absolutely. Thanks so much for watching.
Jeff, using a flat-backed screw (such as a 'snug' screw) is a lot better than using drywall screws that are angled.
