    Pretty damn good considering its bulk ammo and the wind you had to deal with. Thank you for posting the video!!!

    Even at 25m you can tell some of these are a light load. Sadly CCI quality is not what it was in the past either. Duds are sneaking in and it is not as consistent as pre 2019 ammo.

    I have found that older lots (550 packs) seem to be more consistant than the newer lots (325 packs). I also noticed that some of the rounds are light grey and other lots are dark grey. My research showed that some were made by Federal plants and the other by Speer (CCI).
    No difference in perfomance tho'

    I picked up two boxes yesterday at our local Wal Mart where I live. It shoots ok in my Volquartsen barreled 10-22 it's slightly higher priced than the standard Federal HV at $17.99 for 325 I was surprised to see almost a full case on the shelves. I'll be glad when my distributor has RWS again.

      @@socalplinker Scalpers harvest any ammo before the general public can buy it. This Wal Mart is in a very small town and it's one of the original ones that barely have room for two carts to pass in the aisles. I was in it one day and they had 350 Legend and 17WSM but a day later it was gone. I guarantee it wasn't bought for consumer use but for resale.

      @@perdidocamaronero5400 Yeah, during the first .22 ammo crunch no one in my town had .22 except one indoor range. I went there one day to sight in a scoped .22 rifle and noticed that they had CCI .22lr slides there for $17 a slide. Ouch, that was really high. I asked the counter guy if I could see a box and when I looked at it there was a WalMart sticker underneath the range's sticker! WM price was about $6. I was so pissed that those people would gouge fellow shooters that I promised I would never give them my business...have not broken that promise years later. I also found out later that they had an inside person at WM that would call them when ammo came in and the range people would jam the counter and buy up all they could get their hands on. I have never trusted them since.

    Neat, them 22 are alright. Since you have Shoot n See should stick them quarter & dime size ones, see if you can hit them. I usually hit the edges but once in a while I'll hit the center.

    I have shot this out of my cz457 varmint and shot sub 1" groups at 100 yards. not consistently but it has done it! im sure if i sorted them i could get more consistent. it can be one of the most accurate rounds it shoots. im sure your vudoo is miles more accurate with an ammo it prefers though. still crazy to see how different guns shoot different ammos. that same gun shoots 2" groups at 100 yards with eley tenex. now explain that!

    I just ran across your video. And wanted to comment. I’ve shot about 6000 rounds of this to different lots and I’m getting your 50 yard group is what I’m getting at 100 yards but I’ve noticed that my cold shot usually goes wild that is the first shot out of a cold barrel and if I switch mags. The first shot goes wild. I’ve shot Ely Target and it shoots good but my gun doesn’t cycle because the charges in as strong as the auto match which I have very few malfunctions with it. I’m still looking for the right ammo for my 1022.
    I’m still on the fence about going through the hassle of measuring and weighing rounds to get a better tighter group. I think measuring rim thickness has more effect than just the weight. I think rim thickness has more to do with head space and jump. What do you think?

    • @socalplinker
      @socalplinker  7 місяців тому +1

      First awesome that you are getting such groupings at 100yds with this ammo… as for cold bore shots… I honestly don’t pay much attention to it because in all the matches I have been in….my barrel is warmed up during the zeroing session..as for weight and rim thickness measuring… I think it drops some of the variance you get with plinking grade ammo but is it worth it… for me… only if I have no option in terms of not having match ammo available… thanks for watching and commenting…

    Run it through a handgun at 15yds and it will be fine. Plinking ammo, or take the girlfriend to the range ammo.
