  • Join us, Dani and Sherry, as we do a DIY and turn an old changing table and a broken kitchen island into some easy to build workshop tables, storage cabinets, and miter saw station for Dani's garage. These 2 pieces will not only look fantastic but will also provide much needed storage and organization.

    Pops voice over & Sherry James Bondo 😆 love you guys!
    This is a perfect upcycled project ladies! Love the vision on this one, Dani. Perfect for a workshop, especially with limited space. I'll be on the lookout for one of these for sure! Peg board is my favorite in the garage. Most furniture tools are light and can hang from hooks. With everything right there I can grab, and put away, super easily. Staying organized is key for my brain to function. I get lost in chaos 😆

      Thanks, Jenn!!! Yeah, Dani has a 3 car garage but 2/3 is taken by furniture and bikes. And they are also renovating their trailer so it is a constant dance of sorts. And yes, Dani is going to hang a pegboard, too. It will be so good cuz I am constantly asking where she stored the tools and supplies when I am there.Yay!

      Thanks, Dar! Haha ... yes one of us (Sherry) is a bit intimidated by demolition (I just don't want anything to break) but the other thrives on it (not sure why she loves it so much....). In the end, it usually comes out ok. And if it doesn't, we just repair it. We are getting good at repairs... Oh my! 😂😬😮

    Handy tip I learned from a carpenter when he helped me with an apothecary look on a dresser. You need to go in one direction with the router not back and forth like you did. The router spins in one direction that pulls it in to your piece which makes it cut well but when you go the other direction it’s working against you as it’s kicking outward which made your cut uneven

    • @secondchanceohana
      @secondchanceohana  2 роки тому +1

      That is a great tip, Ginger Snaps! Thank you for sharing! It totally makes sense. 😮😀👋

    • @flaminbird1
      @flaminbird1 2 роки тому +1

      @@secondchanceohana You’re welcome! Just have to see which way the bit spins on your router. Maybe they all go in the same direction but I’m all new to using a router as well. Also the burn marks are from either the bit is dull or you’re moving too slow.

    • @secondchanceohana
      @secondchanceohana  2 роки тому +1

      Yep, I'm thinking it actually was a bit of both: dull tip and moving too slow. 🙃😬

    • @flaminbird1
      @flaminbird1 2 роки тому

      @@secondchanceohana I bet the next time you use the router it’ll be a great outcome now with the info :). I still get afraid to use mine 😟 but I have to keep trying .

    • @pamcadd8658
      @pamcadd8658 2 роки тому +1

      I'd also add that perhaps you were trying to cut too deep on one pass. Try a shallower depth of cut, then go deeper each pass. Also, I was holding my breath watching you push that router with one hand. The router has two knobs because you want to keep a hand on each knob - for better control and to keep your hands away from that sharp bit, which doesn't care whether it's cutting wood or flesh and bone.

    When you blend paint, are they the same formula?

    • @secondchanceohana
      @secondchanceohana  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Beverly. great question! we usually blend the all-in-one mineral paints by Fusion and Melange because they are the ones we usually use and have in stock but for this one we had some trim enamel by Sherwin Williams in Moscow Midnight so we added that to use it up, It seemed to work fine, Thanks for watching!🤗
