    I hate to say it, but I rely heavily on your professional reviews of all the tools and shoot outs you do, so much that I will not buy a stand from them due to the things you've pointed out and agree 100%. Thanks for all the tool reviews you do and the incredible info from C.C.

    I do like the look back reviews. I'm a DIYer and comfortable with my tool skills; but I appreciate the outlook from people who are using these tools every day and abuse them. When you like a tool I look at it. When you don't like a tool I avoid it. Thanks.

    I'm a milwaukee guy for sure!!! but you've hit the nail on the head with this stand, and i agree with many others here saying that this REAL WORLD long term assessment is so valuable!!!! I would also like to thank you for helping me decide on the strap and clipboard attachment, i was wondering if they would be worth it, so thank you for saving me some cash to buy OTHER milwaukee tools!!!! LOVE THE VIDZ Rob, keep this type of info coming!!!!!!

    Spot on as usual with the look-back review. (Keep it up). I used your original review when the stand came out as part of my decision making process when purchasing my own model 48-08-0551 stand. The only thing extra I would add is that the plastic “feet” on the saw mounting brackets that were held on with steel roll pins eventually elongated and deformed where they attach to the pin and began falling off after about 6 months. I had to make and use some small wooden blocks as inside channel support and a through bolt in place of the roll pin along with a couple small sheet metal screws to reattach the plastic feet onto the metal channel of the mounting brackets. A slight redesign of the metal channel in that area similar to the DeWalt brackets along with a bolt-on rubber foot should solve that issue. Very glad that I didn’t pay full price for my Milwaukee miter saw stand when I invested in it about three years ago now. IMHO Dewalt still has Milwaukee beat when it comes to the folding miter saw stand.

    Said it before, saying again........I love the look back review. Not so much to see if you got the initial review correct, but to get your take on a tool over an extended time. This is VALUABLE info to pros like myself that are always looking to upgrade current tools or maybe try out something new. THANKS!

    I bought the milwaukee stand to go with my corded millwaukee saw. Returned the stand straight away as its far to short compared to my old dewalt stand which ive had since 2005 along with my trusty dw708 is still going strong . I bought a 2nd dewalt stand to mount my millwaukee saw on. Love your in depth reviews👍🔨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Since I only use one mitre saw on my stand I just welded the support brackets to a fixed height to fix that problem once and for all. I always store the stand with the lift handle up so the support brackets were always out of adjustment. Have not had the cap issue - but I also don't drag the stand.

    Years ago I saw the miter stand on the New Yankee Workshop...plywood construction, pocketed side tables for tools..sawhorses for support. I built one for my 12" DeWalt it works and I have yet too want anything different.

    The concord carpenter videos are direct.
    I like the testing and comparison videos
    I am considering Milwaukee 12 inch slider corded.
    Bosch ditto
    Makita is odd.
    As for the matching stand..
    Milwaukee have to purchase the brackets, have to carry it, then remount the saw.
    Bosch is complete, with wheels.
    One finish carpenter to another thanks Rob;

    I’m a Milwaukee junkie and this stand I wouldn’t buy again... I prefer my older one even though it weighs so much! I have the old version (electric) miter saw and the arms and supports on the new stand don’t get to level with the platform of the saw. Especially when cutting longer material. Clearly this stand was designed to be used with the M18 platform saws. There’s a side table accessory that looks amazing, but once I put my saw on the stand, I wonder how it would even fit on there??? There should be a gen 2 of this stand, make it 6” longer, and make the supports more universal to the Milwaukee saws. Also, would be fantastic if there was a way to put the saw into the truck handle side up without having to either remove the supports so they don’t get scratched or to leave supports installed and not get bent or damaged which results in a rough surface that damages finished material when cutting on the saw...

    Rob as usual I find myself in agreement with your major points but also finding that I've had different experiences than you.
    I purchased the stand not just because I'm a major fan of all things Milwaukee, but because it was the most compact stand on the market. By compact I mean when collapsed for storage because as all of us know storage space in our work vehicles is a high priority. I've had issues with the stand (not all of which were attributed directly to Milwaukee) and I've been able to solve, work around our just adjust myself to them. The number one complaint I have for Milwaukee so far as design is concerned is how they attach the bracket on the ends of the support arms. They use just one metric Allen wrench set screw which is easily defeated by the slightest of abuse and makes it and the material support assembly that it holds wobbly which then causes the knob connection that holds it to the bracket to be over taxed and loosened over the course of the work day. I would also like to see an improvement in the knob and bolt connection for the material support assemblies to something like a cam lever instead.
    My strap broke on me very early on and I've not replaced it. I totally agree with you on that. I do like the utility of the table on projects that are longer in duration. I just wish they made a attachment system that doesn't require 40 revolutions to tighten down.
    Overall I love how compact it is, how light it is, how easy it is to carry and how quickly it sets up and breaks down. Those are the highest priority features for me. Perfect no. Very good? Yes.

    • @ConcordCarpenter
      @ConcordCarpenter  3 роки тому +1

      I’m constantly tightening that Allen screw too. I should have me too Ed that - the entire support bracket is junk and needs to be reworked

    @A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz. Thanks Rob for another useful and through look back. Great summarizing what you liked and didn't like about the Milwaukee miter saw stand. Like someone once said, these things are made by people not angels and here on Earth, not heaven. And like you said, for the price, we can expect better. So we'll see whether Milwaukee puts all your suggestions into their next gen miter saw stand.
    Hope you, your crew at TBB, and your families stay safe and well.

    I have the same saw and stand - generally like it (minus the fact my miter saw is in the shop. :/) . One thing you didn't mention that I think could be another area for improvement - I'd find it really handy (and some more expensive saw stands have this) to have fold out L-brackets of some kind on the legs to let you place a few 2xwhatevers on the legs while you're cutting. Bonus points if it managed to get two fold out l brackets on there so I could seamlessly cut from one small pile and place on the other brackets. Agree on the leg swing down - already great - but perhaps they could improve them even more?

    • @amac4170
      @amac4170 11 місяців тому

    Great Review.
    I got a great deal on my stand so I'm not mad at it.
    I just leave that accessory table on the stand because it is a PITA to continuously mount & unmount.
    Those material supports do need a more stable way to attach to the arms. They are not secure and are a flimsy material support that comes aloose & apart from the arms causing support failure which could possibly result in material damage or even injury.
    Of course this is extreme and avoidable but possible nonetheless.

    I had mine for 3 months before enough of the parts fell off/broke off that it ended up in the trash. I got the stand for free as part of a promo deal with the 10" miter saw so I'm glad I didn't put any money towards it. That saw still gets used once in a while but I basically went back to DeWalt stands and saws. Better quality over all. I like Milwaukee stuff but they need to take a good hard look at their saws and stands and do better against DeWalt and Makita.

    I found both the Dewalt and the Milwaukee saw stands to be overpriced saw horses. When I bought my 780 I wound up buying a Home Depot special saw stand that came with 2 tubes per arm with material rollers on each side of the fold up stops. It also had a nice 3 terminal AC outlet and WHEELS. Now thos wasn't practical for leaving the 780 on when not in use so I bought a Ridgid cart far less than both the Dewalt and Milwaukee again. Now that home depot stand on wheels is perfect for my 7.5 Milwaukee miter saw. 115 bucks to boot

    Great review, matches my experience. I’m very disappointed in Milwaukee for the end brackets. You have to take them on and off every day and tighten them up constantly, and store them separately or they will break which mine finally did. So now I have a really expensive sawhorse. The support brackets are absolute garbage! I've lost several of the knobs, and now have to use a clamp to keep them in place. They are also bent every which way possible. And the plastic connector that they mount to on the end of the extension arm wobbles, and I'm always tightening the screw. If anyone knows an alternative bracket that will replace these please let me know.

    Milwaukee needs to put out an update fix for the ends, they are absolutely garbage. It basically turns the stand into a table to put your saw on without any supports. Mine is basically new and already I find myself not using the stand at all with my 7 1/4'' saw. If I do a lot of cuts I'm using the 10'' with a rigid gravity rise stand. The supports on that are stout and for a wheeled stand its not heavy at all.
    If the ends were updated so they didn't always slide down and require re-tightening I may use it again for light trim and 2x4 framing applications.
    I can't imagine using the 12'' saw with this stand. The only way Milwaukee could sell me on a 12'', is if they had the best gravity stand on the market to go with it. Otherwise it looks like dewault with 2 extended stands is by far a better option.
    The old rigid gravity stands that were square tube, were the best mobile stand back in the day. I've put 6x6 rough cut 12' posts on it and not had issue with the supports. They had drop leg adjustable supports. Heck you could even convert that stand to accept miter wings for trim. If it wasn't so heavy and had a quick lock for the miter saw, it would be my primary stand today. 15yr old stand is putting new stuff to shame, unreal.
