Have you ever tried the harder shell bottle with sealed long hose system? It allows to keep water bottle in a back side pockets but long hose runs through like from hydration bladder. I am tempted because I hate collapsible bottles, don’t like the cleaning of bladders and want to free up front panel pockets of fast pack for bear spray and other needed items on a go.
No i have not, however i have seen several reviews of them that spoke of the highly.
my issue with them is that-
1. i dont like to carry heavy items on the side bottle pockets
2. i dont like the long hoses
3. i prefer to have the water in the front as it makes it easier to access when filtering and also it balances the weight out.
That said, if i was in bear country i could totally see myself switching to a system like that just so i can have bear spray more easily accessible.
I have another new water carry storage solution that i plan to make a video on in the future. it's a hard hydration container that is supposed to fit into "tactical vests" (like the ones you see people use for airsoft). It can fit in some packs where you would put a bladder. I need to test it more. biggest issue i have with it now is that its hard to clean and also its not the most UL. But i dont use drink supplements so its not a deal breaker.
I've had a hydration bladder fail on me before. so im never going to use another soft container other than the one on my be free

I dont actually use the system you see in this video. If you see my most recent video named "the best water bottle you cant buy", thats the one i use. That's the video i thought you commented on.
The system you see in this video is basically the same as the ones for the harder shell bottles (like a nalgene). it just has a smaller cap. considering the price and how easily accessible smart water bottles are, i'd prefer this system.
