    I think for just engineering it on the fly, you did a very commendable job. Hindsight is always 20/20 though, and I am curious what you would change about the design, were you to attempt this build again. If I might make some polite suggestions, things I would have changed would probably be the wheelbase, by about + 6 inches, and maybe a cvt-style clutch like an old hex from an arctic cat or salisbury, so the gear ratio would self-adjust to a degree..and I think I may have either cut and kicked the front fork tube guide out at the bottom, gusseted and rewelded it in so the handlebars gave more 'caster' effect, slowing the steering a bit and improving upright stability some; adding some length to the rear forks to extend the rear tire some and possibly finding a mountain bike with an adjustable shock and stealing the shock and mounts, depending on how hard it would be to divorce the rear wheel forks into a carrier hinged and shocked into a one-off suspension. I would like to thank you for doing this, I just found a mongoose stomp bike out on trash day, it had major issues. The rear tire was flat. One man's trash...

    Nice build. I don’t know about the left-hand throttle and the weird “push to engage” clutch though. I made a motorized bike with this same engine, and I used a torque converter and it worked amazing. Keep up the good work.

    I went with eletric for my 20'' masiff fat tire bike glad I did much easier and guiet as a mouse and literally no maintance at all plus I can still pedal and listen to my headphones of course the range is shorter but I don't mind the trade off I have a moped if I need to go farther. I love my eletric bike but I don't knock anyone who likes building these gas bikes I think its cool and can be lots of fun you did a great job!!!!!

    I'm not 100% sure, research it, but I think in order to keep these motorized bikes street legal or to still fall under the 'assisted power bicycle' category it needs to have pedals still.. Is put fake ones on.....or real ones(never know when you'll break down) this thing looks awesome! Good job man thanks for posting your build.

    May as well take it to the DMV if you're going to ride on roads much and get a license plate for it cause I don't think the pedal assist laws are going to fly with that unit. Good work, you use a lot of different styles to make a unique machine.

    Nice job how fast and how rugged is this bike can it be used for a survival vehicle and be outfitted with a trailer hitch to pull a small trailer to carry equipment and up to deer or bear sized game?

    • @OliverMotorized
      @OliverMotorized  5 років тому

      Thanks Robert, she only goes about 30mph. Since it doesn't have suspension or gears it probably wouldn't be that great for off-road or hauling for that matter. But you should stay tuned because this bike is going to be evolving soon for sure!

  • @16driver16

    $55 tav-2 knockoff from Ebay would really finish this thing off, it's still a belt drive, but has effective gearing and would give good low end power and better top speed, plus no more clutch pedal needed

    • @TheDustyShredder
      @TheDustyShredder 5 років тому

      It depends on whether you want it street legal or not. If not, then yes, $300 is accurate. However, the power supply system will add between $300 and $600, depending on how fancy you want to get.

    With next project how about something simular but with say a 125-155cc engine with a four up transmission along with the gears on the bike and a jack shift being used so more speed along with a swing frame and shocks both front and back something like a motoped survival bike but with more speed and horsepower
